Yeah, but your smartwatch will be obsolete and worthless in a few years. The Carrera will still be valuable in a century.

With a very seductive voice, a wife asked her husband “Have you ever seen $20 all crumpled up?”

“No” said her husband. She gave him a little smile, unbuttoned the top three buttons, reached into her bra and pulled out a crumpled $20 note.

She then asked “Have you ever seen $50 all crumpled up?” “No, I haven’t” he said with an anxious tone in his voice. She seductively unzipped her skirt and pulled out a crumpled $50 note.

“Now” she said. “Have you ever seen $40,000 all crumpled up?” “No way!” he panted, becoming even more excited,

She said “Well take a look in the garage”.

My fathers country, Lithuania suffered immensely from Lenin to Stalin and until the fall of the disgusting USSR.
In 91/92 the Russian tanks rolled in.
No matter the efforts of Russia the Lithuanians, the Balts dug in deeper. The would not be eradicated.
This is the history of nations.
One thing I could never understand is my father saying the Russian man was better than the German.
He had a visceral hatred of USA.
It only now I begin to understand his view of the world.

As usual MontyPox Virus, you are deluded. The NBN was never and never has been a transitional technology. Just more Guv’ment waste of Taxpayer and borrowed money. Leave the technology stuff to the Private Sector as the Guv’ment will just fuck it up whenever it tries to do this stuff or pick winners.

Maybe. If it goes bung, I’ll buy another one that does even more. Only $350 iirc. And your Carrera is only valuable because ppl think it is. Its intrinsic value is determined by what it can do. Not much except tell the time.

And if you have a collection of expensive wrist-watches, you’re still unable to wear them all at once, you’ll run out of wrists.

I collect plastic bags, they’re a lot cheaper than watches and more useful.

Johnny R,
Just to be clear I don’t endorse the vaccines at all.

The interesting point from the Brisbane Times article is that clearly says 4th not recommended for under 30’s. What they never seem to pick up on is that it is exactly same as 1-3 which the media is constantly pushing. It was first mentioned not recommended for under 30’s on 8 July but many of the most aggressive pro Vax experts have still been pushing it for all ages. Those experts should be locked up together with the bosses of media outlets that constantly publish their opinions.

The Hilton in Tallahassie has a coffee maker that doesn’t work (I know how to use this type, Rabz) and an antediluvian house phone likewise. Hairy had to get up and go down to the lobby to get his hit this morning. First world problem, I tell him. As is getting the shower system working properly.

Today we are heading for Tampa, to an area known as St.Petersburg, near a beach.

I am reading Uncle Tom’s Cabin as an insight into the early South and the dismayed North. Eliza has just fled with her little boy, leaping over ice on a river chased by slave hunters. The style is sentimental Victorian in the extreme; but it has pace and a certain didactic and strongly Christian flourishing. People wrote more eloquently in those days, which I can admire more than some do.
Beecher Stowe is into accents, as I am. You have to mindfully sing-a-long with the text. Treated as a Creole, I don’t find her use of Negro intonation as insulting as recent commentary does. Her characterisations are fair enough for the times, although they must rile the CRT crowd enormously.
Her intent is really to shock and create a Christian humanistic swell of reform.

Victorian Liberals are preferencing the Greens over Labor. “As a result of this decision, Labor will lose up to three seats to the Greens, boosting our election chances,” the party’s campaign headquarters says.

‘Liberals’ are dead ducks. How is this going to help get rid of Hunchback?

Here’s how it works, redwing:
The Greens operate as a Kindy for Labor.
First time voters go Green, after a coupla Election cycles, realise that nothing good ever comes out of Greens leadership, and switch to Labor and stay there forever.
Up until now, the Liberal Party have been electing Labor by preferencing them over the Greens.
That’s nuts, since Liberal voters have nothing in common with Labor voters, but some things in common with Greens voters.

Alarmists: Nine Years to Avoid ‘Critical Climate Change Threshold’ (12 Nov)

Climate change alarmists are pressing for faster transition away from affordable fossil fuels, insisting that the world has only nine years to avoid a “critical climate change threshold.”

That would be 108 months. Here is why I’m confused:

Prince Charles: ‘We have less than 100 months to stop climate change disaster’ (Mar 2009)

currently only 64,000 Victorians catch the train to work?

I was only being slightly facetious when I said yesterday that “V/Line has more Customer Assistance attendants (running around in pink vests) than they have customers”. To the naked eye, it certainly gives that impression.

They must be haemorrhaging tax payers money by running the services, without the appropriate patronage.

Dan created this work-from-home boondoggle, now it is firmly entrenched. Yet he wants to build more infrastructure to service a (now) non-exist clientele. Why? Because it keeps the CFMEU, and other unions, farting through silk, and loyal. It’s also a proven election winner. People sitting at their desks at home actually think everyone else is using this stranded capital.

It’s all going to have to come to a head at some point. It’s unsustainable for those who don’t believe in the magic pudding. Reality doesn’t.

I wonder though how long this would take. If you lock down for 6 weeks, and when everything is unlocked – the virus could re-invigorate because perhaps it would be there lurking in the sense there is not much community immunity, and only a few flights in from say China would set it all off again.
A lockdown like IT says would have to be extended – perhaps 12 months even, to let the immunity take hold.

This is nonsense too, candy. Numbers plucked out of the air by the CMO to scare us into his flawed methodology.
Wuhan’s lockdown took nine weeks. They had the largest breakout of anyone so far, with NY possibly set to overtake it. Ours isn’t nearly as big. We should be over it in four to six weeks max, if we stick to it.

Like a good watch timepiece, it never gets old.

I remember being smacked around with this catch cry; “Don’t you understand what EXPONENTIAL means?”.

These very same (mathematically and scientifically illiterate arseholes) then went on to espouse the theory of “Two week to flatten the curve”.

Anyone who ACTUALLY understands exponentials, always knew that the two arguments were diametrically opposed, and the two weeks (or any lockdown measures) were complete bullshit.

On the first day, God created the dog and said “Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years”. The dog said “That’s a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I’ll give you back the other ten?”

And God saw it was good.

On the second day, God created the monkey and said “Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I’ll give you a twenty-year life span”. The monkey said “Monkey tricks for twenty years? That’s a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the dog did?”

And God, again saw it was good.

On the third day, God created the cow and said “You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer’s family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years”. The cow said “That’s kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I’ll give back the other forty?”

And God agreed it was good.

On the fourth day, God created humans and said “Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I’ll give you twenty years”. But the human said “Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?”

“Okay” said God “You asked for it”.

So that is why for our first twenty years, we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves.
For the next forty years, we slave in the sun to support our family.
For the next ten years, we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years, we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Not the NBN, but a landline based communication system is essential for a nation, unless of course one believes that there never be a calamity interrupting wireless.
The copper wire based POTS we had could be run very low tech with electro-mechanical switches and people as operators. A fiber optic cable is dependent on advanced electronics which would be just as vulnerable to EMP or Carrington Event as wireless.

The fat fascist fuckwit’s coup de grace was last week when he quite openly admitted that he regards and equates the one sole Jewish state on the planet, the state of Israel, with oppression. Note, he doesn’t equate Saudi Arabia, or Iran, or North Korea, or China, or Syria with oppression, only Israel.

By the way, he’s a coward but we all know that. He comes here to rub salt into the wound, like the cartoon character Mutley, be it with Labor’s win in May, the Dobbs decision, when the fat fuckwit fuckwit suddenly became an expert on abortion, Russia/Ukraine and last week with the midterms. When things aren’t going very well for “his side”, he disappears like the rat he is.

Sundance sums up the GOP Swamp Dwellers in this post

President Trump Fires Back Against Ron DeSantis, Con Inc and Coordinated Narrative Midterm Effort

November 10, 2022 – Sundance

President Trump can see and hear the same things everyone else can see and hear, including the coordinated media and GOPe effort to diminish him and the MAGA movement within the Republican club.

The Democrats and professional Republican class both want to see the populist movement destroyed for the same reason Mitch McConnell wanted the Tea Party destroyed in 2010. The assembly of the united middle-class and blue-collar base inside the Republican Party, essentially the broad MAGA movement, represents a Main Street threat to Wall Street control of the GOPe.

There are trillions at stake.

As Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ megadonor and Citadel hedge fund billionaire, Ken Griffin, openly admitted recently the Wall Street goals are (1) stop the populist movement and (2) get the Republican Party back in alignment with the multinational “corporate world.” These are the same goals of the Republican leadership in Washington DC and the same goals as the corporate media who serve as the public relations firms for Wall Street.

The collaborative group, which includes the entirety of the funding mechanism and management behind Ron DeSantis, viewed the 2022 midterm election as an opportunity to reset the Republican Party away from the populist MAGA influence. The strategy was to roll out of the August DOJ Mar-a-Lago targeting, directly into a nationally rebranded DeSantis operation and then lead up to the 2022 midterm election.

Anything that can cast Donald Trump as a negative would be enhanced, and anything that would cast the MAGA movement as a positive would be diminished. In part, this is the intent behind the delayed positive election results from key MAGA races in CO, WA, NV and AZ, combined with emphasis on the negative -albeit controlled- election ballot outcomes from Michigan and Pennsylvania.

At the 30,000-foot level the attacks against President Trump are, quite frankly, attacks against the MAGA populist movement represented by President Trump.

The professional political class, both DNC and RNC club members, politicians and donors, want to get back to normal political business operations in Washington DC. The key element at the core of their concern is financial and economic control. Again, there are trillions at stake.

Just like we can see this coordinated effort, so too can President Trump see the construct of the narrative as it is being engineered and delivered. We can see the Paul Ryan wing, the Mitch McConnell wing and the corporate media division all working in concert. The entities described genuinely do not think the larger Republican base can see it, but they underestimate us at their own peril.

Things are never going to return to normal for them, but they refuse to accept that. The most adamant of the professional Republican apparatus, in concert with the multinational financial world, would rather see the GOP lose every election – if that’s what it takes to stop the MAGA movement. They view this as a zero-sum game, and they have planted proactive seeds for exactly this purpose.

DeSantis 2024? Think Again.

It should be clear by this time that popularity has nothing to do with electability. Trump filled rally after rally in state after state with countless, full-house, full-stadium crowds, and such numbers do not lie. There really was a red wave in the midterms, but it was macro-engineered to a trickle, as should have been expected. The scam of “malfunctioning” voting machines, the shortage of paper ballots, the tsunami of mail-in and late ballots, the temporary closing and slow-downs of polling stations, and so on would have been sufficient to determine an electoral result. 2020 was an early run for 2022, which in turn should be regarded as a template for 2024.

I am absolutely sure that the Dems are now, even as we speak, preparing favorable ground for the next presidential election. As Stalin is reputed to have said, “It’s not the people who vote that count, it’s the people who count the votes.” To make Trump responsible for Democrat malfeasance is wholly misguided.

DeSantis is now the favorite among many Republican voters and almost all conservative commentators for the Party presidential nomination. Such passionate advocates seem to have missed two essential points:

. In a rigged electoral system, no Republican candidate, not even DeSantis, can be expected to win a national election. DeSantis cruised to victory in Florida because, as governor of the state, he had the means and the authority to ensure a clean election. But he would be helpless against a massive crime organization, aka the Democrat Party, which effectively controls the electoral infrastructure, the physical apparatus, the paid loyalty of election workers, and the federal agencies that oversee the process.

If the system is not repaired and made answerable to the people, there will never be a Republican president again.

. Should DeSantis run in 2024 and lose — which is increasingly likely in the current adulterated circumstances — the sequel would be devastating. Florida would be at the mercy of the next gubernatorial race since DeSantis is a unique political figure and could not be readily replaced. Additionally, DeSantis himself would have become a kind of displaced person, neither an American president nor a state governor. An invaluable political talent would have been sacrificed to the untutored enthusiasm of his supporters.

If the American republican experiment is now in dire straits, it would then be expeditiously destroyed. A slim hope will have become an utter disaster.

Watching Enola Holmes and Enola Holmes 2

very light hearted, but the diversity thing has gone too far

The 2011 Census put Black, Black British, Caribbean or African percentage at just over 3% and 2019 estimated around 3.4% with London having a Black, Black British, Caribbean or African pf 7.9% in 2019

in Enola Holmes 2, we had major Black Female lead opposite Helen Bonham Carter, Professor Moriarty was a Black Female, and Dr Watson was introduced as a Black Man at the end

Same with Midsomer Murders, diversity gone mad – when you get out of London and visit the Villages you see the – In 2019, the most common ethnic group in England and Wales was White (84.8%), decreasing by 1.2 percentage points since the 2011

However suppose I am a bit dumb but found out in Enola Holmes, Enola is Alone – then thought back to Enola Gay

Matt Kean – the political toddler of the NSW Parliament.

The Premier of the NSW appointed an energy advisor because he’s clearly stopped trusting Boy Minister Matt Kean.

Perrottet will take energy advice from former Snowy Hydro CEO Paul Broad.

Broad has the advantage, unlike Kean, of having held a job in the real world and made a profit.

Broad also DOESN’T take his advice from Gretta and the gang, unlike Kean.

Kean’s response … thrown the toys out of the cot.

“I was interested to read on Twitter that he had been appointed. He is well placed to advise the premier on one of the greatest risks to the energy transition, the significant delays on the Snowy Hydro project that are threatening energy security on the east coast”.

As reported in the Daily Telegraph : Matt Kean reacts to ex-Snowy Hydro CEO Paul Broad being hired by Premier – Herald Sun

Kean is embarrassingly naïve.

The reason Broad is there is because no-one in the Government clearly believes Kean is capable of running Energy in NSW, heading into an election.

It’s also because many voters might well have come to the conclusion Matt Kean is a f-wit.

Netflix’s “Love Is Blind” Shows Why So Many Men Are Single Today

The authoress appears to believe that a Netflix reality TV show is unplanned, unscripted and completely reflective of society. She (I’m assuming her gender here) is also quick to point out that ‘I’m in a relationship‘ and so above this sort of thing. Displaying mUnter-esque cluelessness, she eats everything fed to her:

It was difficult to watch all that male entitlement mixed with a complete lack of self-awareness and overly inflated egos with a sprinkle of misogyny and sexism on top.

Most of the men on ‘Love Is Blind’ latest season — a total of five made it out of the pods — need a therapist, not a wife. (Some of them, like Matt, probably shouldn’t even be allowed around women.)

It. Is. A. Made. Up. TV. Show.

It’s too late for Dominic Perrottet. The election is in March 23 and the Liberals and Nationals will be annihilated. They deserve it. Perrottet had his chance when he became premier last year. He could have and should have come out swinging, done a DeSantis and basically said that there’s no room for woke ideology in NSW, be it in education, in environmental policy and so on. But no, instead Perrottet allowed the putrid rotting corpses of scum like Matt Kean, Health Hazzard and David Elliott to define him. Now Perrottet is trying to distance himself from Green Kean and others but it’s too late and the NSW Liberals are now completely fucked. The NSW Coalition has, for the last three years, been completely subservient to the the sinister and evil Alex Greenwich.

I hope Kean loses his seat to a Teal. I strongly suspect that seats like Vaucluse, Lane Cove and Manly will all fall to the Teals. Once again I must point out that the Teal movement is all the fault of the Liberals. The Liberals and Nationals, with their refusal, either willingly or unwillingly, to curb the climate con have created a very hungry Teal coloured monster which will, like it did in May federally, gobble them up.

I’ll be voting One Nation in the upper house.

Farmer Gez and bushie, diversify your crops! From the Hun:

The triple whammy of Covid, war in Ukraine and climate change means Victoria will have to transform its agriculture industry in the coming years, a leading biotechnology expert has predicted.
Professor Tony Bacic, director of the La Trobe Institute for Agriculture & Food, said external forces meant what crops were grown had to be re-evaluated.
Major changes could include more food grown in greenhouses, turning to legumes for protein instead of meat and finding ways to reduce food waste.
“We need to look at breeding new crops that are climate resilient,’’ he said.
“What we’ve seen with Covid, the Ukraine situation and climate change is that we’re going to have to re-imagine the entire value chain from paddock to gut.
“We really can’t do things the way they were into the future.
“The reason we can’t is that the globe is increasing by 25 per cent the population by 2050. And we need 70 per cent more calories to feed that.
“As we transition from developing countries to developed countries we need more food.’’
Prof Bacic said fuel and fertiliser alternatives needed to be considered as well as new varieties of crops that needed less water.
“But we need to produce quality crops; we need to have the basis there’s got to be quality rather than quantity.’’
Food waste was as high as 30 per cent post-farm gate, he said.
Victorian Farmers Federation president Emma Germano said farmers and the industry in general were already assessing, researching and implementing world-leading practices to grow the best possible food and fibre.
“There’s no doubt our industry is evolving to meet the ever-growing demand for food and adapting for the future,” she said.
Ms Germano also said the need for an Australia-wide plan to ensure food security was vital in the coming years.
“We absolutely must have a serious think about introducing a national food security plan to protect our vital food supply chains.”
Victoria produces about $11.4 billion in food exports every year. The key markets are China, USA, Japan, New Zealand and Indonesia.
Five categories dominate the Victorian agricultural landscape – dairy, beef, sheep meat, grains and fruit and nuts.
Agriculture production employs almost 92,000 Victorians on 22,000 farms. Tens of thousands more work in food manufacturing.

Now correct me if I am wrong, but haven’t boffins around the world developed crops that can be bountiful without a great deal of water, also known as genetically modified?

Wedding ring = I’m not available

This actually works in reverse, should one be so inclined.

When out and about in the evenings, usually (but not always) in licensed premises, do a bit of people watching. You will note that the ladeeees, and particularly those in groups will study blokes who are with one or more other blokes.

They will look for height and the head first. If what’s on display is unacceptable, they will visually jog on. If it is acceptable, the next target is the left hand – and they’re not looking at watches.

To these predators, the presence of a wedding ring is proof that this person is acceptable enough to somebody else that the said person has snared that particular bloke. In other words, that bloke has something worth having.

And then the game, as they say in Agatha Christie novels, is afoot.

Should one be in possession of a wedding ring, despite not being married, and should one (on certain occasions, not every time) decide to wear said ring on certain occasions, and should you have both a) a not-too-complicated yet suitable backstory and b) a level of personality above that of a trilobyte, you are generally in a position to turn the tables on these predating women and rack them up.

It’s not about personal awesomeness, it’s about chick psychology.

Now one of the safest seats in the Country, Labor have given up there.
The Liberal Party has finally realised:
Why are we solving the ALP’s problems for them?
LNP preferenced Greens over Labor in South Brisbane in 2020, Greens won easily.
Since then, Labor has lost Griffith [which encompasses South Brisbane] in the recent Federal Election, another seat they’ll never get back.
Plenty of Greens voters work in the Public Hospital System, so they see first hand what Labor do in Government.
It’s a natural Liberal voting bloc, so why not help them out against Labor?

Yep, it was an unintended consequences situation. The SFLs thought they would shaft the liars by putting them last but all thy did was helped elect Bandt who got the greens a foot in the door of the lower house and that veneer of relevance & respectability helped get other greens elected later on. In retrospect it was obvious how disastrous that would be but the SFLs thought the liars were a more pressing enemy. The greens/teals play the long game. Sooner or later they will hold the balance of power in both houses and we will all really be stuffed. If the so called major parties had any brains they would put the greens/teals last on every HTV card in the country.

No unintended consequences there.
Labor had held the seat for 104 years, lately on Liberal Preferences.
The move has been a success, a Green member cancels out another Labor member, destroys Labor’s organisation in the seat, and eventually, when the Greens voters wake up that the Greens Leadership are all Labor stooges, the Liberal Party are waiting with clean hands.

Let’s dissect some of this turgid shit…

“My wife owned her own house after buying young”

How young? I bet she received help from her parents in order to cough up the initial mortgage.

and paying off the mortgage herself the old fashioned way.

Oh right, how quaint. You mean the “conservative way”, the “way” most people do. There’s nothing “old fashioned” about paying off a mortgage.

She took five years off having the kids,

Not very “progressive”. The sisterhood would not like that, they decry women who take years off to have and rear children. However, good on your wife, a lot of women would like such a choice to spend more time at home with their children, particularly in the early years.

“and is now part time in the modern fashion.”

What’s “the modern fashion“…….did you omit the word “industry”?

‘My Carbon’: An approach for inclusive and sustainable cities
While transport and buildings are the major drivers for emissions in cities, the share of individual emissions is significant.
Personal carbon allowance programs have had limited success due to a lack of awareness and fair mechanism for tracking emissions.
Yet there have been major developments in recent years that could help realise “My Carbon” initiatives.

1. COVID-19 was the test of social responsibility – A huge number of unimaginable restrictions for public health were adopted by billions of citizens across the world. There were numerous examples globally of maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, mass vaccinations and acceptance of contact-tracing applications for public health, which demonstrated the core of individual social responsibility.

2. Fourth Industrial Revolution technology breakthroughs – Advances in emerging technologies like AI, blockchain and digitization can enable tracking personal carbon emissions, raise awareness and also provide individual advisories on lower carbon and ethical choices for consumption of product and services.

The levers of Cognitive Enablement and Social Norms will be much more impactful through citizen engagement programs and learnings from the above-mentioned trends need to be captured to design these programs. Innovative AI and machine-learning capabilities would help capture embedded emissions in goods and services, and could help in providing individuals with tailored and timely advice on how to reduce their lifestyle emissions.

Finally, it is significant that all stakeholders across the value chain come together and contribute towards achieving a net-zero future by leaving no one behind.

mUnter, head of the Cheka. ‘Punch a Nazi’ mUnter. It reminds me of this:

certainly not a man of violence … Under a brow of average height, two grey-blue eyes looked at me, behind glittering pince-nez.

The trimmed moustache below the straight, well-shaped nose traced a dark line on his unhealthy, pale features. The lips were colourless and very thin. Only the conspicuous receding chin surprised me. The skin of his neck was flaccid and wrinkled. With a broadening of his constant set smile, faintly mocking and sometimes contemptuous about the corners of the mouth, two rows of excellent white teeth appeared between the thin lips.

His slender, pale, almost girlishly soft hands, covered with veins, lay motionless on the table throughout our conversation.

This is a description of Heinrich Himmler by Walter Dornberger in 1933.
