If you can convict an innocent cardinal, then making a few thousand votes (in critical electorates) appear should be a piece of cake

Otoh, he dares not appear in public in his own electorate for fear of being hectored in front of the cameras.

It will be sweet if the jig is up.

In 2020 Republican candidates lost in elections controlled by Republicans. So the party doesn’t matter, there is some trans-party establishment clique that calls the shots. Is there a better explanation?

How about… voters don’t like Republicans?

Watched a bit of a Webair CLE program called:

The US Supreme Court: A Rogue Court in a Fragile Democracy webcast

This was the primary speaker.

Greenhouse is a devoutly demorat kunt who spat venom at the SC for Roe, its support of the 2nd amendment and castigated Clarence Thomas and Amy Barrett Coney. She spent time on the Voting Rights Act which is currently before the court and said any striking down of this act which provides for electoral rights based on race would be originalist and not consistent with modern sensibilities; she talked about this in the context of Ketanji Brown Jackson as being the only black women put up as a candidate for the SC; which is a lie (Janice Rogers Brown) and the divisiveness of the SC due to the fact that republican’s support for the SC is in the high 70% while demorat support is the teens. In short it was an hour long demorat spiel of vomit and the usual bullshit.

A gunman has shot up the western Sydney home of Hadi Skaf, younger brother of the infamous Skaf gang rapists Bilal and Mohammed.

The Valencia Street home was peppered with bullets about 9pm on Sunday.

Multiple underworld sources believe that Hadi was the target of the shooting.

It’s not known if Hadi was in the home at the time.

His mother was treated at the scene for shock.

What sound like gunshots and screaming can be heard on CCTV footage at the time of the shooting.

How the green agenda is being used to fleece the naive

‘Greenwashing’ has gone mainstream, with both governments and corporations profiting without taking any real steps to protect the climate

Oh, so the airlines asking whether you want to freely donate extra cash when buying a plane ticket to offset the carbon footprint of your flight aren’t technically achieving much beyond making the insufferably sanctimonious feel good about themselves? Or that the energy companies using renewables as window dressing are nonetheless continuing to invest in fossil fuels? You don’t say!

In case the idealists haven’t noticed, there’s currently an energy crunch in the West due to Western sanctions on fuel from Russia – and renewables aren’t anywhere near ready for prime time as a replacement.

Greenwashing is just another way of scamming the hopelessly naive. And no one does it better than governments themselves, who have managed to relieve taxpayers of countless billions to fill slush funds under the guise of saving the world.

Germans are turning instead to coal and firewood, while France is scrambling to ramp up nuclear power. The EU even backpedaled at the beginning of the year in labeling gas and nuclear ‘green’ – which now conveniently allows its leaders to run around to fossil fuel pariah countries asking for desperately needed energy.

Research suggests how many burgers are safe for climateREAD MORE: Research suggests how many burgers are safe for climate
Might as well, though, for all the good that this pricey and pretentious charade is doing. The UN says that more financing, to the tune of up to $340 billion per year by 2030, is the key. Anything less is apparently futile. The notion of massive funding being necessary to prevent Earth’s temperature from increasing by 1.5C above pre-industrial levels is a tough sell, particularly in the absence of any logical explanation of how the cash would credibly be used to realistically adjust the thermostat, so officials now seem to be trying a new sales pitch. “The world must step up and protect people and communities from the immediate and ever-growing risks of the climate emergency. We have no time to lose,” Guterres said, with the UN citing things like flooding in Pakistan and multi-year droughts as justification for the funding.

Barnaby Joyce’s claim global warming has been “fixed” because it was bucketing down rain in regional NSW has been challenged by Sunrise host Nat Barr.

The former deputy prime minister appeared on the morning show from a dreary looking Danglemah, battling to keep himself dry as it rained cats and dogs.

“Great weather for ducks, trout, worms, and I’m going to get the hell out of here as soon as you are finished,” he joked.

But it was a comment in response to a question about soft plastic recycling that raised the Sunrise host’s eyebrows.

“We’ve solved global warming, we’ve solved the drought, we’ve obviously fixed that problem,” Mr Joyce said, looking around at the downpour.

“Not really,” Ms Barr deadpanned in response.

“Because global warming actually creates rain, but we will talk about that next week.”

Her response was met with an audible groan from Mr Joyce.

Ms Barr had asked the Nationals MP why Australia had only been recycling 16 per cent of plastics over the past four years.

He replied by insisting you can’t talk about recycling without talking about coal-fired power stations and nuclear energy.

“One of the things about it, of course, is (that it) costs money to recycle. Like all manufacturing … requires energy, requires power,” Mr Joyce said.

“If we keep devoiding (sic) our nation of the capacity to produce baseload power, shutting down coal fired power stations, not wanting to talk about nuclear power … then you’re not going to have manufacturing and means you’re not gonna have recycling.

“You just gotta be a realist. Gotta get cheaper energy.”

His comments come after the sensational collapse of Australia’s largest soft plastic recycling scheme was revealed last week amid revelations of secret stockpiling.

Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek, who appeared on the panel alongside Mr Joyce, said it was “crazy” that the whole system has been “thrown out of whack”.

“We need to rebuild and build new recycling facilities,” she said.

“The plastic that you get from recycling can be made into new stuff …. We’ve got to make sure we have the recycling facilities that allow that to happen.”

However, some critics are wondering what, exactly, the couple have done to deserve the award. That their Netflix docu-series is produced by a company co-owned by RFK’s son, Rory, might explain it.

I think Cats really need to lean in to this growing hatred of unmarried women. That is going to solve all your problems, and will make you extremely popular and mainstream.

Munty on the hunt again, and wrong again. Not all unmarried women are miserable, that is patently obvious, but a great many are, and they deserve our sympathy, for they have been sold down the river (now there’s an old slavery metaphor*for it that’s now part of general parlance) to end up as canon fodder (another metaphor) to ideology – with no childen, no life partner and with a ‘career’ that hasn’t matched expectations. It stikes me that there are many ways to deceive women of their birthright of a family. Outright enslavement is only one of them.

* in the early nineteenth century the import of slaves directly from Africa was banned in the US and most plantation slaves were purchased from existing ‘local stock’ (what they were actually called to the justified outrage of Harriet Beecher Stowe) who became traded like cattle (including children) with no regard for familial life. Slave owners ‘grew their own’ via impregnation of female sexual slaves (even Harriet’s fine sensibilities had to admit this to her lady readers), and a large internal market flourished. Discipline of slaves was easier with the threat to ‘sell you south’ for the sugar and cotton plantations, where death rates were high, and institutionalised cruelty was rampant, rather than the easier life in the northern states. In 1850 so many slaves were taking the helping hand of Quakers and other Christians in the Underground Railroad to enslavement-free Canada, that Congress made it illegal to assist runaway slaves, with heavy penalties.

I am enjoying reading Uncle Tom’s Cabin as an historical document, for it deals with Natchez slave traders, working the site called The Fork in the Road, which we visited. Stowe does a nice line in ascerbic irony in her didactic asides cast against political hypocrisy even though the sentimentality can be cloying. She makes a direct appeal to women in particular to rise to the cause, at a time when women had no political rights but heaps of moral ones.

Perhaps women today need a voice like this to reassert the joy of having a husband and children.

The ‘river’ down which slaves were sold was of course was the great Mississippi which we watched the sun set over recently from the rare heights of an antebellum mansion in Vicksburg.

That was the place with the antebellum bed. At least there was Harriet for the sleepless hours.

Harriet had just suicided into that great river a young woman slave whose toddler had just been sold.
‘Twas a riveting bedtime read. We may see it as overblown but as a social document it rivals Dickens.

Dot bait, fresh from the steaming moist panties of their ABCcess.

Gold Coast-based mum Billie Beever is one of the platform’s rising stars.

At 30, she’s worked in the adult industry for more than a decade: from bikini car-washing and nude waitressing, to escorting and making porn.

Billie was an early adopter of OnlyFans and now she says she’s in the top one per cent of creators globally. But it’s been a grind.

“I wake up to about 100 or 200 messages a day, and I reply to every single person,” she says.

“If you don’t spend money [i.e. tip], and it’s been like a month, I put you on a list. I know not to waste my time replying to you because at the end of the day it’s my job.”

And when it comes to Billie’s job, there are many NSFW aspects: “dick ratings, videos, sexting, panties, Snap[chat] calls”.

There’s also the “girlfriend experience”, a paid package on top of the monthly subscription fee. It includes extra photos and videos, plus personalised messages in written, audio and video form.

“I say ‘daddy’ a lot,” she notes of her communication style.

“I consider myself more of a marketing genius than a sex worker right now.”

Success can be a double-edged sword.

It’s hard to find a man that wants to be with you for you,” says Billie.

“At the beginning, it’s very like, ‘Oh my God, I’m f***ing a porn star or an OnlyFans creator or whatever’.

“But once that façade goes, and they realise I’m a real person with needs and wants … I don’t think they know how to handle it.”
….

To gain subscribers, Sarah promoted her OnlyFans on her private Instagram account. Some people derided her for joining the platform; others thought she was brave.

She also created an advertisement on a classifieds website. It was there that a user got in touch, offering Sarah $300 to film a “hardcore porn” film with a male co-star.

The request went beyond Sarah’s boundaries, but because OnlyFans hadn’t proved as lucrative as she hoped, she reluctantly agreed. She asked a male friend to film with her and booked a motel.

But when Sarah sent a preview of the video to the requester, he berated her for its quality and content, flatly refusing to pay.

I was crying because I was tempted by the money,” she says. “I regret being lured into his request.

While many creators, if not most, would insist on payment upfront, Sarah’s inexperience with the industry left her in a precarious position.

She later sold the video to someone else for $50, but the whole ordeal was a strain on her mental health. After just a month on OnlyFans, Sarah deactivated her account.

It’s a question of relative numbers, Munty, and you know that. It is also very much a matter of social class position and opportunties in life. Perhap you just don’t know many women from non middle-class backgrounds. I do. They are the single mothers you find in droves in public housing estates, and they may have men around but few who are long term and almost none who support them and their children.

If I had the time and interest right now I’d sort out some figures on this for you.
There is good data available, I know because I’ve seen it.

Former ATSIC chief Geoff Clark joins chorus against Indigenous voice

Geoff Clark, the former chairman of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission, has joined an online campaign in which the Indigenous voice to parliament is characterised as too weak.

In the first podcast of a series due to launch on Monday, Mr Clark positions himself as a critic of the voice referendum alongside Aboriginal Land Council of Tasmania chairman Michael Mansell. Mr Mansell has been vocal that instead of taking Australians to a referendum on a voice in this term of parliament, Labor should instead make a treaty that would allow Indigenous communities to effectively govern themselves, including by running their own police forces, and health and education systems.

At 12 meetings around Australia, more than 1000 Indigenous people contributed to the document that calls for the voice: an Indigenous advisory body enshrined in the constitution. The 2017 Uluru Statement from the Heart has been described as the most thorough consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people ever undertaken. However, Mr Mansell sees it as a reform that is too modest. He is stepping up his criticisms ahead of a voice referendum that is widely expected to be held in the second half of 2023.

The Australian can reveal that Mr Mansell and others have formed a lobby group called the National Treaty Alliance. They have been holding fortnightly Zoom meetings and in recent months the group claims to have made representations to Senator Pat Dodson, the Albanese government’s special envoy on the Uluru Statement from the Heart, and to Greens senator Lidia Thorpe, who has been highly critical of the voice referendum and considers a treaty a higher priority.

In the podcast discussion due to launch on Monday – called Let’s Talk Treaty – Mr Clark disparages the 1967 referendum that gave the commonwealth the power to make laws about Indigenous Australians.

“The fundamental outcome of 1967 was that white people decided what was best for black people,” he said. “Fast forward to 2022, what’s the difference with the voice? We are going to a referendum where white people – 90 per cent or 97 per cent again – will determine what is best for Aboriginal people.”

Does anyone else see the irony here?

Abortion is a female right, except for the female being aborted.
Still it makes Monty feel a little bit sad.
Incidentally, other exclusively female rights on that list?
I don’t have a problem with singleness, marriage is not for everyone, only islam insists on it, but as Monty likes to ignore, feminism these days is way past rational thought, marriage and motherhood is constantly disparaged, the rule of law must be suspended because we must believe all ‘victims’, and menstruation is an outrage of suffering (see Dan is now dispensing free tampons for all) and all the other crap that flows from that.

Scrutineers are nominated by the candidates. Often, this means the relevant Party.

I can’t see how union membership would be an issue for scrutineers for the Libs.

With the exception of paid maternity leave those aren’t ‘exclusively female rights’ and as the federal government is looking to expand paid parental leave for dads so both parents will be entitled to the same amount of paid parental leave that one won’t be exclusive either.

Feminists still believe women are not paid equally because they are dishonest and/or innumerate, to wit, conflating the salaries of risky, highly skilled jobs women (as a group) don’t want to do with those that are low skill, low risk and women (as a group) want to do.

Such as conflating remote high tension power line technicians with daycare workers in suburban centres.

It is completely ridiculous.

At what point do phoney “feminist allies” realise they’re just emasculating themselves so a few high achieving women in white collar fields can get a payrise over better qualified men (such as, in all likelihood, themselves)?

Caught a few minutes of Hadley this morning.

Was commenting on Chris Mitchels climate change article. Mentioned UK papers have pointed out that from industrial revolution to 2020 UK has caused the same emissions as China has in last 8 years alone. Yet the UK expected to pay reparations to other countries. Plus there is the point UK has not got much spare money at the moment.

China can’t believe it’s luck at how dumb the west is. Plus there is the high likelihood they are sponsoring groups to push this agenda.

Then he had a rant about anti vaxxers. Seems people have asked him to change his views. He is ready to line up for No 5 when available. I guess taking 5 in 18 months is a sign they are effective. He can do what he likes but the reason he is one of the worst pro vaxxers is that he very enthusiastically wants to coerce others to take it.

I note Ben Fordhams Facebook page at end of last week was not keen on the recent upsurge in experts pushing the next Vax. Don’t listen to him but he clearly no longer drinks the cool aid.

Third World Electorate

Candidate quality? How about voter quality?

Those inclined to say the GOP was not persuasive enough, or that Trump’s “toxicity” is the issue, are missing the forest for the trees. America is balkanizing, its elections are going the way of the Third World, as are its people. There is no easy solution to this predicament, but the answer isn’t for the GOP to ditch the one man who excites the party base. Nor is it to pander to the lowest common denominator, in the hope of buying more time before the demographic time bomb goes off.

If it’s any consolation to the party, this election showed us that the country is so deeply divided that the GOP probably couldn’t have done much better. About half the country cannot be expected to vote rationally under any circumstances.

Republicans should give up any illusion of convincing them and focus on delivering for their base.

A Muslim couple, preparing for their wedding, meet the Mullah for counselling. He asks if they have any last questions before they leave.

The man asks “We realise it’s a tradition in Islam for men to dance with men, and women to dance with women.

But, at our wedding reception, we’d like your permission to dance together”. “Absolutely not” says the Mullah. “It’s immoral. Men and women always dance separately”.

“So, after the ceremony, I can’t even dance with my own wife?” says the man. “No” answered the Mullah “It’s forbidden in Islam”. “Well, okay” says the man.

“What about sex? Can we finally have sex?” “Of course” replies the Mullah “Sex is okay within marriage, to have children”.

“What about different positions?” asks the man. “No problem” says the Mullah.

“Woman on top?” “Sure” says the Mullah. “Go for it”.

“Doggy style?” “Sure”.

“On the kitchen table?” “Yes, yes”.

“Can we do it with all my four wives together on rubber sheets with a bottle of hot oil, a couple of vibrators, leather harnesses, a bucket of honey and a porn video?” “You may indeed”.

“Can we do it standing up?” “Absolutely not”. says the Mullah”.

“Why not?” asks the man. “It could lead to dancing!”, says the Mullah.

I am merely pointing out facts, partly based on my own experiences with single women in the inner west of Melbourne. If you don’t like those facts, that is not on me.

Lol, Munts. If the inner west of Melbourne is anything like the innerwest of Sydney then you are in Lezzo woke central, you-go-girl territory, where they clutch a degree in gender studies and head for the public tit, then complain because it isn’t the high flyin’ job they were promised, and end up on benefits like so many other single women. Others of course, don’t – they work the system and only later in life are they left childless and alone and those I have spoken to are often regretful about this.

Two of my neices are in this situation. In their early forties, well educated, never married, no children, jobs just run of the mill stuff, and lamenting that they have never come across Mr. Right. It is sad, and it is a social issue not just a personal one.

When it comes to single parenthood I understand single parenthood, because for six years I was one, having trial new relationships amidst the misery. I’d just taken an academic job when my lefty husband walked out on me and our two toddlers and our mortgage, and found the going tough (he wasn’t paying anything in those far off days). Go on the Single Parents Benefit, he advised me, and stop worrying about trying to work. Problem of me, fixed.

I was lucky, unusually lucky. I had a stable job and I was able to start again, to remarry and have another go at marriage and family, although my first two children still suffered in some ways. It wasn’t ideal. (I have written an article about such things last year in Quadrant). That’s the lucky woman story, and it is very different to that of the women with limited training or contacts who end up as single parents in some drear job with no companionate relationship in sight. At least though their children are some consolation, something childless women do miss. There’s more regret out there about childlessness and lack of a stable companion than is often admitted.

For Liberals in Australia, the rise of single 20 and 30-somethings is one of the most disturbing trends to emerge from last year’s census.

Disturbing! Young people are disturbing! Oh dear.

Young women may be more ideologically drawn to the left than those older and wiser to the ways of the world, particularly those who had the dubious fortune of attending university.

Wisdom comes from age, not education! So says… *checks notes* Professor Nick Cater.

Government must address the promiscuous access to higher education and encourage more young adults to get into the workforce earlier or learn a useful trade.

Promiscuous! Dearie me, all these young women being promiscuous with their education and not with the incel males who disappoint them so. More married tradies, less single ladies!

Have nothing to do with such people.

Lets pick the dumb apart.

Equal pay: A female boilermaker is paid same as male one. A male childcare worker/nurse is paid same as a female.
Box ticked, somewhere back in the late 1980s/1990s…

Paid maternity leave: Sex based payment for an individuals choice limited to those who can have kids… Still mostly a perk of the childbearer even in 2021+1…

Paid domestic violence leave: 95% of this is for the benefit of one gender. It removes assaulting/ violence against someone from a police matter to an employment matter. Its an extraordinary boon for abusers who will be then free to continue the abuse.
One of the most retarded and own-goal bits of legislation ever passed.

What an authoritarian and pompous piece of poppycock. It is views like this that drive women away from the conservative viewpoint. So how is domestic violance leave initiated?
Do you have to show the employer the bruises?
Are tears sufficient?
Do you have to have a police report? If not, why not.
Is “he said hurties” sufficient.
Or, is it just another bulltish scam against employers and taxpayers.
My limited understanding of the law is that a person who is made aware of a DV incident is obliged to report it. Or, is it different if you are in a union?
Two weeks is a bloody lot of DV.
As an employer, I would be looking carefully for grounds to remove this person from my employ. The subject’s personal issues are nothing to do with the employer but under the ACTU’s insanity the employer is the new fairy godmother, perpetually liable.
Too much risk.

Emoting?

The appearance of ACT Victims of Crime Commissioner Heidi Yates alongside Brittany Higgins after the trial of her accused rapist Bruce Lehrmann had been aborted raised many eyebrows.

What was a government statutory office holder doing lending support and the authority of her office to a complainant as she made a statement to the media, most of which could not be reported?

Ms Yates could be seen nodding and emoting as the distressed Ms Higgins spoke to the media.

Highlights from Cater’s piece:

Nick Cater is a buffoon.

Monty, did Cater reference any research surveying what young women think about conservatism? Or he is just claiming some all pervasive insight into their psychology and how to fix it?

From this morning:

Election Day is increasingly looking like election month

I think the long game is to stretch things out so there is ballots and mail ins and tabulations going on continuously, and every four years they just announce the Democrats have won. Again.

A bit like War is Peace in 1984. Apart from the social cohesion fostered by having a common enemy at whom you can throw your common hate, being in a constant state of war, maintained in an effective stalemate where victories and losses kind of balance out, things like producing materiel and maintaining the military become constant. Just part of the economic norm, rather than being incurred at the expense of normal economic activity as happens in acute war, with resources suddenly being diverted and domestic goods withdrawn, constant low-level war delivers a state where no deprivation is experienced. Same stuff for sale every day.

Not sure what the slogan would be.

Of that, how much to tax?

The former treasury secretary Ken Henry recommends taxing those profits at a rate of 100%.

And to be honest, why not? They did nothing to cause prices to rise, they still keep the expected $44bn profit, but just lose the amount they gained due to the war.

International cricket star and alleged rapist Danushka Gunathilaka is set to take his bid for bail to the NSW Supreme Court, but will be forced to wait almost a month for the case to be heard.
Lawyers for the Sri Lankan batter, who is currently being housed in a NSW jail after he was refused bail in Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court last Tuesday, made a brief appearance in the Supreme Court on Monday where they sought the next available date for the hearing of the bail application.

The registrar set the matter down for December 8.

The court heard the case was not expected to take more than half an hour, with Gunathilaka’s legal team indicating the sole issue to be determined by the presiding judge was whether Gunathilaka posed an “unacceptable risk” – either of failing to turn up to court or endangering the safety of the community – if he was released from custody.

Police have previously indicated they hold fears Gunathilaka will flee the jurisdiction and fail to turn up to court if he is granted bail.

Also from the courts:

The infamous Porsche driver who filmed the aftermath of a truck crash that killed four police officers in Melbourne has been found guilty of publishing those disturbing images in an insurance claim complaint.

Richard Pusey had uploaded four graphic images of the April 2020 Eastern Freeway crash in a complaint to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority.

Pusey had been pulled over by police for speeding when a truck veered into the emergency lane and fatally hit the four officers.

The 44-year-old was found guilty in Sunshine Magistrates Court on Monday of one count of using a carriage service in an offensive manner and one count of breaching bail by reoffending.

Pusey, who uses they/them pronouns, sent the graphic images – some of which showed the severely injured officers – to the authority after his insurance claim on his Porsche was denied by their insurance broker.

The former mortgage broker, who remains in custody, had tried to seek a compensation claim of $2.2m in what they thought was a “fair and reasonable outcome”.

Pusey wrote to the authority to complain that the “c–ts won’t pay out” their claim.

The court was told that one of the images attached to the complaint was of an officer lying in a pool of blood, while another image showed an officer dead on the roof of Pusey’s car.

In her judgment on Monday, magistrate Michelle Mykytowycz said she found beyond a reasonable doubt Pusey had used the carriage service to send the disturbing photos attached to the claim and knew that anyone seeing the images would be disturbed by their contents.

The court was told the staff member who received the complaint was “repulsed and physically ill” by the images.

Ms Mykytowycz said while it could not be established whether the supplied images were taken by Pusey or from the internet, it was clear beyond a reasonable doubt that Pusey had submitted them using a carriage service.

There is a separate argument about the said propaganda. And, it is a good one. But the deriding of single women per se goes back a long way, and the history of it is very unpleasant. Attacking them as a group is not only counter-productive, it is offensive. I’m not seeing attacks on single men of the same nature.

This is an extension of “You didn’t build that.”

Why it should instead be a windfall for the government, other than so we can have more ‘free stuff’, is anyone’s guess.

But it gives an insight into the minds of the sort of people that agitate for socialist and communist revolutions: absolutely no idea of the complexity of getting things done. No idea of how much they don’t know.

No idea that you can’t just massively increase production, storage, and transporting capacity (which you pay for when you are not using it so you don’t just leave massive excess capacity lying around) by saying so.

No idea that it is a competitive environment (which is good because it means there is a force keeping prices down and ultimately saving money for consumers).

Instead this moron has learned from government. Money isn’t a problem. Efficiency is not an issue.

And it explains why, when socialists or communists get into power anywhere, degradation and misery attend immediately.

And when they see that, out come the guns and bully-boys looking to stamp out enemy within.
