I used to be in favour of feminists before they went insane. Having seen the results, I think most women shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

no downside to this at all

You all sound like pensioners at a bingo palace.

How do you know what they sound like? I certainly don’t! 😀

On some of the females here being misogynist…well, I’m pretty sure I don’t “hate” all women, I definitely dislike and avoid the nasty ones who want what I consider to be horrible things for me and my family, and for other women.

Being an Equal Opportunity ist-er the same applies to misandry and men.

As for the strange pronoun people, I don’t think there’s an equivalent “ist” word for them yet. We’ve only got as far as “phobe” which doesn’t quite cut it.

Why would I want men on my “side”? They might be on some issues and not on others and vice versa.

I’m certainly not on the same “side” as many of them on some issues.

Wherever The Borg resides, it definitely isn’t here.

I Dunno, Monty.
I didn’t advocate confining them to their homes, mandating a vaccine into them, destroying their children’s/grandchildren’s education, destroying their livelihoods, shooting them with rubber bullets or forcing them to wear a face covering.

As I recall, you waved the Pom-Poms for this shit, whilst I advocated for their human rights to be reinstated.

There’s no such thing as male feminists — only doormats for bossy women.

The Beloved wanted the best for his girls, good, solid education and good careers (provided that was what they wanted too). He was also delighted when they produced grandchildren too. You could describe him as a “feminist” I suppose.

He’s definitely not a cuckold! And neither are their husbands.

My view – there are a huuuge number of people who have terrible trouble navigating life as adults. They want to live in a state of perpetual childhood or adolescence without acquiring and of the responsibilities of adulthood.

This has come about because of poor parenting, over extended secondary education with an unrealistic expectation of tertiary entrance and the money that goes with it. In other words, a ridiculous sense of entitlement.

It isn’t specific to a political affiliation – it afflicts across the board. But it finds it’s payday in socialism, where everyone is supposedly “equal” regardless of diligence or intelligence.

Hey Cats
advice needed.

Got some pretty shitty bloodwork back today and my body isn’t in as “great shape” as I thought it was. A number of severe issues, including heart disease (but not sure how far progressed it is until I get an MRI done, and if not too far progressed could be reversible)…

Does one tell family and/or friends as you do have the disease or do you wait and see how bad it is…

If women have the vote men only have themselves to blame.

It looked to be a good idea at the time. JS Mill On Liberty sold me on female suffrage when I was sixteen. The old grumps said that women are unduly influenced by their emotions and can seldom handle rational thought. And they were right.

Yes, Mater. Here’s a quick definition:

Feminism is a range of socio-political movements and ideologies that aim to define and establish the political, economic, personal, and social equality of the sexes. Feminism incorporates the position that society prioritizes the male point of view and that women are treated unjustly in these societies.

I won’t presume to speak for him, but after a lifetime I’m pretty sure he’d approve of the first sentence simply based on his actions and words. Amusingly, he’d add “legal equality” to that.

The second sentence is where the b/s resides. It may have been so in the past, but it isn’t now. Particularly in the West.

I’ve owned four year old Merino sheep that were smarter then Monty.

If they were four years old, they were exceptionally bright. Merinos spend their waking hours figuring out ways to get into trouble. The survivors are the smarter ones.

I’m getting cranky about the men here blaming women for election outcomes they don’t like, while ignoring the ones they do like (Tony Abbot, Boris Johnson, Donald Trump).

Those of them who have not seen their dicks (except maybe in an upward tilted mirror) in the last decade, the ones who have strong views about the attractiveness of women – in short, the peanut gallery – have zero credibility. They are losers who women, correctly, avoid.

But blaming single women for the environment they grew up in is unfair.

Blaming individuals, and having consequences for poor decisions is what is lacking from the “environment”.

Lets face it, seeing this slag dying in a gutter of starvation* as respectable people walk around it would have a far greater effect on “environment” than anything else you could think of.

Similar to my modest proposal for politicans who lose elections.
Nothing would focus their minds more on keeping people onside than this.

I read a study last week which argued for a big spike in cancer and metastasis risk. I expected that because one chemotherapy target is inhibiting the NAD pathway. 6 months ago I warned a friend about the possible risk. The ban is ridiculous, people can make that choice but I’m not confident most using like drugs had an understanding of the risk.

Hmm. I wonder what caused that. Well, the article goes out of its way to say what it’s not:

In September 2021, Johnson posted on Instagram that he needed “as many prayers as I can get” and was in a battle, noting it was “NOT COVID.”

Interesting how they’ve started doing this ever since a certain therapeutic treatment started to be broadly administered, and people started dying very prematurely around the same time. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.

“It’s just a type of vitamin B3!”

So basically the hype merchant patents what he hypes etc.

The hype merchants went crazy over resveratrol until trials showed kidney damage. Now they are going crazy of CBD. Big Pharma is capturing the cannabinoid market.

If its mode of action was equivalent to B3 why bother taking it instead of boosting B3? I don’t know what is going on metabolome wise. The results are conflicting. My view is that the cancer problem occurs for those with micro-tumours(over 60 years of age not that uncommon) and\or precancerous cells. I’ve seen like results with beta-carotene and NAC, both shown to promote cancer development.
The effect of those two was particularly prominent for smokers\former smokers.

We make our choices DOT. Personally I don’t give a damn.

Recent studies suggest that cancer cells of many types depend on NAD+ to sustain their rapid growth and that cutting off the NAD+ supply could be an effective strategy for killing certain cancers. The data from these studies paint a more complicated picture of NAD+ and raise new questions about the diverse ways taking an NAD+-boosting supplement might influence health. “It might still slow down the aging part, but it might fuel the cancer part,” says Versha Banerji, a clinician-scientist at the University of Manitoba. “We just need to figure out more about the biology of both of those processes, to figure out how we can make people age well and also not get cancer.”

Elon Musk sacks outsourced Twitter moderators hired to track hate and other harmful content

A content moderation expert tweeted on Sunday that around 3,000 contractor employees were canned

If Musk keeps chainsawing off this much dead wood, he might be able to make Twitter profitable!

Melissa Ingle, who worked at Twitter as a contractor for more than a year, was one of a number of contractors who said they were terminated without notification on Saturday….Ms Ingle, a data scientist, said she worked on the data and monitoring arm of Twitter’s civic integrity team. Her job involved writing algorithms to find political misinformation on the platform in countries such as the US, Brazil, Japan, Argentina and elsewhere.

Oh no, what will we do without algorithms that identify political misinformation? How will we know what the correct opinions are? I want to choose truth over facts but this isn’t helpful. If Musk takes over Snopes, I’ll be totally lost.

Does one tell family and/or friends as you do have the disease or do you wait and see how bad it is…

TELL!

At least, tell your wife. Together you can decide whether to tell the children and friends.

It’s no secret that I love my Best Man, husband of almost 53 years. He is extraordinary: wise, capable, educated and funny. And we share everything… except, he will never tell me when he is sick or injured. To spare me any worry, he insists. Ha!

One day several years ago, I returned from a pleasant (but unsuccessful) afternoon fishing off the Portland breakwater to find BM staggering about, flushed with raging fever. “I think,” he began lamely, “I have a needle stuck in my chest.”

Much spluttering from me, then, “How long has it been there?”

“About three weeks. I didn’t want to worry you, but now…”

He ended up in the excellent Portland hospital with staff congregating around his x-rays, enjoying the unusual sight of a four inch needle lodged firmly across the centre of his chest.

The point of this rambling anecdote is to impress the importance of telling your partner about any health issues as they arise. It’s much more traumatic for everyone to find out in an emergency situation.

How did the needle get there? Well, that’s quite a story in itself.

I think there’s roughy 180k votes to be counted. Lake is 26,000 behind.

The breakeven is: 180,000 – 26,000 = 154,000/2 = 77,000 + 26,000 = 103,000/180,000 = 57%

Lake needs to win 57% of the votes to breakeven. Why is that too difficult?

Daniel Andrews promises to bring in plans to reduce Victorian’s power bills (14 Nov)

Mr Andrew said he is not “providing an itemised quote” on how the Victorian Labor government would implement the power price reduction.

“What I’m saying is we are going to create jobs, we’re gonna replace coal with 100 per cent renewable – we are gonna embed skills as well,” Mr Andrews said in a press address on Monday.

Albo and Jimbo have effectively admitted that the $275.00 saving on electricity bills that they promised before the Federal election was a load of bollocks. So now we have Dan the Coal-killing Man promising to reduce electricity prices by doing all the same rubbish, only harder. Do people actually believe this stuff?

So how is domestic violance leave initiated?
Do you have to show the employer the bruises?
Are tears sufficient?
Do you have to have a police report? If not, why not.
Is “he said hurties” sufficient.

My money is on it be “thuh feelz”
Is this any guide: (nope)

The amendments also expand the definition of family and domestic and family violence to include violent, threatening or other abusive behaviour by a current or former intimate partner of an employee, or a member of the employee’s household, in addition to a close relative, that seeks to coerce or control the employee and causes the employee harm or to be fearful.

The improved entitlement in the National Employment Standards (NES) will,
• Provide ten days of paid family and domestic violence leave in a 12-month period for full-time, part-time and casual employees.
• The leave will be paid at the employee’s full rate of pay for the hours in the period for which they were rostered and they would have worked had they not taken the leave, to minimise the financial impact of family and domestic violence.
• The leave can be taken as consecutive days, single days or a fraction of a day.
• The leave can be taken for the purposes arising from family and domestic violence which may include, but is not limited to, attending medical, legal, police or counselling appointments, attending court or other legal proceedings, accessing police services, organising alternative accommodation (including relocation), care or education arrangements for children, if it is impracticable to do so outside the employee’s ordinary hours of work.
• The leave will not accrue year to year and is not an entitlement to be paid out on separation.
• The paid leave entitlement is not available to perpetrators of family and domestic violence.

Yep, scam being perpetrated upon employers.

Too much risk.

Ken Oath.
And here’s my favourite part:

For employers who do not yet have a policy which speaks to family and domestic violence, you may wish to consider implementing one prior to the changes taking effect next year.

They can shove such a policy up their clacker.
I do not & will not have a “family & domestic violence” policy.

Okay, so she scored highly VCE and went to Cambridge where she did an MA with a specialty in economics. That most likely was political economy, which is claytons economics. It’s basically leftwing, Keynesian crapola.

She was a management consultant and corporate executive before entering politics, including as managing director of her mother Carla Zampatti’s fashion label.

Early life

Spender attended Ascham School where she was head girl,[1] and achieved a UAI of 99.95. She then completed a MA in economics from the University of Cambridge, where she was at Trinity College.[2][3]

Spender started her career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company before working as a policy analyst in the UK Treasury.[4] She later volunteered as a consultant in Kenya for Technoserve and at Change Leader at London’s King’s College Hospital.[5] Spender has worked as Managing Director for her mother’s fashion label Carla Zampatti.[6][2] She was the Chair of the Sydney Renewable Power Company,[7] and the CEO of the Australian Business & Community Network (ABCN),[8] a social mobility charity that links students from low socio-economic schools and mentors from business.

I wonder how long she was a McKinsey’s. The CV gets a little murky after that because she then began working for ma’s fashion label.

I was only thinking to myself this afternoon that I hadn’t seen Delta on the Cat for a while and she pops up. Not like a bad penny, whatever that is.

She hopped in and kicked monty’s arse.

Pretty impressive when you think about it.
To be expected though.

Mind you, a UAI of 99.95 plus the duties of head girl/prefect is pretty impressive. Very, very difficult to game that.

This Sam Bankman-Fried of the crypto firm FTX is a piece of work; he supported every woke issue including alarmism and the emorats and just before his junk firm went Chp 11 he transferred $10 billion of customer funds to his own personal account, which has now partially disappeared.

We had a young girl working at the family business for just short of a year. She’d scored something like 99.6, was great in a particular field of sport and was accepted into Stamford on a scholarship. This kid was really really smart. She would pick up stuff at lightening speed. She was also a gerbil warming zealot. No matter what was explained about trade offs, costs and it wasn’t a given costs would outweigh the benefits, she couldn’t conceive anything else. The kids and a disturbing number of adults are wedded to this bullshit and there’s little that can be done in the short term.

You know Calli, there’s book smart intelligence and the gut raw type that is able to analyze something and then arrive at an analytical conclusion.

I reckon the best way to describe it is say the equivalent of corporate intelligence.. someone who would do well in a large corp and there’s entrepreneurial intelligence.. someone who would be terrible in a corp environment while excelling at entrepreneurship.

It just intrigues me that, at 44 or whatever she is, her UAI is important enough to put in a Wiki.

Sure, it’s a great achievement. So was mine and not far behind hers, but I’m just a carpenter’s daughter, heavily pregnant at exam time and I went through TAFE. In the end it’s meaningless. It’s what you do afterwards that counts.

And maybe being the Member for Wentworth is what counts.

I bet the first thing the vaxx fanatics think when they learn of yet another strange incidence of an otherwise healthy young person suddenly dropping dead is ‘those anti-vaxxers are going to use this to sell their anti-science agenda’.

I don’t need to sell anything. This shit sells itself.

“Spender attended Ascham School where she was head girl,[1] and achieved a UAI of 99.95. She then completed a MA in economics from the University of Cambridge, where she was at Trinity College.[2][3]”

Of course, of course, every girl who attends Ascham achieves a UAI of 99.5. Princess Allegra da Big Spenda speaks Ascham babble and her whole existence is framed by Ascham and the eastern suburbs. She knows nothing of anywhere else and she doesn’t want to know anything. I know the Ascham babble well, I had a few female relatives who also attended Ascham and they all speak in the same way as Allegra and they all view the world just like Allegra does, which means the world stops at Pyrmont to the west and Sydney International Airport to the south.

I was quite amazed to see Allegra’s female spruikers outside Paddo markets last Saturday, the federal election is two and a half years away. Maybe she sent them there because she’d had a bad week because the MSM finally exposed her for those HUGE donations she received. Anyway, as I said to the three female Teals spruiking for Allegra outside the markets last Saturday, when they asked me if I had anything to say to Allegra, I said yes….”tell her she’s a waste of space”. They didn’t like it very much, I wonder if they passed it on?

Rosie, the way that information is presented doesn’t raise questions for you? Kind of sketchy.

Incidentally, regarding your earlier post about the cause of death of the 38yo MMA fighter, well…death by the relatively sudden onset of a severe auto-immune disorder doesn’t really dispel any suspicions.

Is UAI the equivalent of VCE in Victoria?
