Europe faces ‘cancer epidemic’ after estimated 1m cases missed during Covid
Report says 100m screenings lost because of pandemic, which had ‘chilling effect’ on research
Experts have warned that Europe faces a “cancer epidemic” unless urgent action is taken to boost treatment and research, after an estimated 1m diagnoses were missed during the pandemic.
The impact of Covid-19 and the focus on it has exposed “weaknesses” in cancer health systems and in the cancer research landscape across the continent, which, if not addressed as a matter of urgency, will set back cancer outcomes by almost a decade, leading healthcare and scientific experts say.
…
“To emphasise the scale of this problem, we estimate that about 1m cancer diagnoses might have been missed across Europe during the Covid-19 pandemic,” they wrote in The Lancet Oncology. “There is emerging evidence that a higher proportion of patients are diagnosed with later cancer stages compared with pre-pandemic rates as a result of substantial delays in cancer diagnosis and treatment. This cancer stage shift will continue to stress European cancer systems for years to come.
“These issues will ultimately compromise survival and contribute to inferior quality of life for many European patients with cancer.”
The report analysed data and found clinicians saw 1.5 million fewer patients with cancer in the first year of the pandemic, with one in two patients with cancer not receiving surgery or chemotherapy in a timely manner. About 100m screenings were missed, and it is estimated that as many as 1 million European citizens may have an undiagnosed cancer as a result of the backlog.

Doc says heart markers aren’t great and, if not attended to, would definitely result in some sort of CVD event in the “near future.”
As anyone with a working understanding of statistical inference can attest, no predictive-risk model of CHD/CVD can provide anything more than educated guesswork about the probability of an unspecified adverse event occurring at some unspecified future time.
What does p=0.4 of event X at t=2yrs mean?
Depending on the applicable distribution, it might mean a 50% chance of X happening at ~21 months.
This would make sense if applied to a large population (1000s) of individuals in the same risk-stratum and age.
But it makes no sense at the individual level, where a discrete event cannot be predicted, with any reliability, from calculations based on a continuous distribution.
This, as well as a basic understanding of Bayesian inference, which relies on disease prevalence in a specific population group, should be taught in high school, and would provide people with the appropriate level of knowledge necessary for an appropriate skepticism of most of the BS published in medical journals.
I would just ensure some regular exercise and weight maintenance, thus optimising insulin release response to carbs, and thus fat deposition. Your genes will determine the magnitude of success.
Lastly, something (almost) no doctor ever mentions: these days most mature-aged people in the West will end up with either symptomatic CHD/CVD or cancer.
Just enjoy life and pick your poison…
Actually, I’ve seen several that could easily qualify but how can you be sure? One in particular was a great shock. Someone I worked with for years who suddenly just dropped dead. No prior illness or warning. Early 70s.
The sides are rapidly coalescing into Establishment Republicans backing DeSantis and the base sticking with Trump. I’d rather have my money on Trump in that fight, given how 2016 went down. I know that was six years ago but much the same internal party dynamics are in play.
There will be two lanes: the Trump lane and the Establishment lane. DeSantis will have to fight off the likes of Haley, Youngkin, Pence, Hawley, Cotton and a bunch of other losers who will drag him down. No one can challenge Trump in his own lane. No one is going to get to the right of him.
The only thing I could see screwing this for Trump is if Carlson declares. That would shake things up.
In The Signal and the Noise, Silver argues that the abuse of statistics has become so problematic that some are arguing it should not be taught. I think that is going too far but like yourself he is a strong advocate for Bayesian statistics. Long overdue, I even have a 1974 paper by Tversky and Kahneman arguing for the same!
McCloskey has written some damning articles on the abuse of statistical significance. She also has this wonderfully titled paper …
The Unreasonable Ineffectiveness of Fisherian “Tests” in Biology, and Especially in Medicine
The Nation Review article is churlish and is full of false assertions. This is one for example:
“A lesson of the midterms was that association with Trump and “stop the steal” were liabilities, and no one is more associated with both of those things than Donald Trump himself” In fact, those candidates endorsed by, or associated with Trump at the mid terms, had more than a 90% success rate. I got the impression that the article was written in a hurry and before Trump announced his run. So it’s already old hat.
I watched Trump’s entire speech and thought he played it well. There was only one shock for me; that he would introduce the death penalty for dealing hard drugs. He quoted China and Singapore as countries that don’t have a drug problem and went on to say that one dealer on average is responsible for 400 deaths in the US. I’m not sure about the death penalty, not because I’m squeamish but I think there will be blow back from the religious and wokerati. And I don’t think trump needs more enemies. On the other hand it might be bait for the Democrats and the Media to slather over, rather than focus on his other policies.
Trump’s hair colour was less orange than before, so he looked less aggressive. His presentation was energizing and he looked and sounded like a man who will win.

Those purple scooter you see around in some towns etc, are awesome (for broken wrists).
I’ve mentioned previously that I ride an electric scooter (my own) and have been riding them for about 3 years or so. My scooter has substantial power and is capable of speed well in excess of the legal limit but having said that, they are an ‘acquired taste’ in many respects and are certainly dangerous for the foolhardy, even at slow speed. I often see people riding at inappropriate speeds (and accelerating) in circumstances that more experienced riders are well and truly backing off.
The Qld Govt have already reduced the speed limit for scooters on footpaths to 12km/h, and 25km/h elsewhere. I suspect the actions of a few will eventually see the footpath limit reduced further, maybe 8km/h in Brisbane CBD where they are especially prolific.
Trump will be out on his own but therein lies his problem. In the past he had solid media, public figure, and GOP members behind him. That’s rapidly vanishing. I think it is expecting too much of him to counter the emergence of so many enemies. They are enemies because they are not just dismissing him, they are often positively critical of him.

Wow. I didn’t know that.
Doc says heart markers aren’t great and, if not attended to, would definitely result in some sort of CVD event in the “near future.”
Lysander, I have just had a similar, depressing experience. After 3 years of Covid & no medical visits, GP wanted full blood count. All good except for total cholesterol – although the ratios of LDL/HDL et al all OK. This freaked her & she insisted on a Calcium Score. The latter showed some “calcification” of 2 arteries, which again freaked her out, although the risk assessment was “moderate”.
Cardiac opinion of issues of calcification seem varied. And the Calcium Score is a “risk assessment” only. Both parents lived to fair old age (even though one was a chain smoker until she died in her 80s), I get solid daily exercise on the farm, am not overweight and am in otherwise in good health as a result of a healthy diet and vitamin supplements.
Nevertheless, the GPs, with their forlorn faces & dedication to the herd beliefs, have the ability to convince you that you must see a cardiologist ASAP. Yet, I know damn well that the standard response will be to prescribe statins, which are highly controversial. Indeed, recently read an article which argues that there is scant data of acceptable effectiveness – certainly less than 10% improvement.
It seems people have already forgotten what Trump was up against in the Republican primaries of 2015-16.

Ring the alarm boys, OZ Minerals (ASX:OZL) is in a trading halt pending the announcement of a change of control transaction.
And market speculation is already pointing to word of an agreed tie-up with the venerable old man of Australian mining BHP (ASX:BHP), which was callously knocked back by OZ in its attempts to secure the target for $25 a share (a tidy $8.4 billion) back in August.
The new deal would likely need to come in higher than that, with copper prices rising off positivity about China’s potential reopening from Covid and OZ’s shares trading at $26.30.
It is a level that suggest shareholders expect a larger payout for their stakes in the mid-tier copper miner, owner of the Prominent Hill and Carrapateena mines in South Australia’s Gawler Craton.
BHP has previously taken a hardline stance on calls from both OZ and analysts to present a more attractive offer, with Mike Henry again calling OZ “nice to have, not must have” at its AGM in Perth last week.
The deal would consolidate the major mines in that region for BHP, along with its giant Olympic Dam deposit, where it also produces gold and uranium.
It would also see BHP secure additional nickel feed for its BHP Nickel West business. OZ has approved the construction of the $1.7 billion West Musgrave nickel and copper project on WA’s border with South Australia.
A study on an extra step at West Musgrave, to produce mixed hydroxide precipitate for nickel sulphate battery suppliers, could be developed after the mine enters production in the latter stages of 2025.
The project would be one of the largest standalone nickel mines to be developed in WA, challenging Glencore’s Murrin Murrin and BHP’s Mt Keith operation for scale.
BHP has made copper and nickel the centrepiece of its plan to diversify from fossil fuels and bulks, even though iron ore and coal made make up the largest chunks of its earnings in FY22.

Trump is going to bash DeSantis, and I suspect DeSantis is not going to play his game… until he realises that he has to, as he will be losing support among the base. By then it may be too late.
It’s not as if the media is going to suddenly wean themselves off the Trump story. He’s too good for clicks. How can the likes of Carlson turn on Trump after all this time? Pretty tough to square that circle, particularly when Trump has declared so early. Carlson was obviously waiting to see what the base’s reaction will be. We know everyone else is lined up against Trump, but that was true in 2016 as well and the base roared.
The problem for R in 2024 is how many working class voters can DeSantis get out in WI, MI or PA? The other problem for R is how many establishment R voters can Trump get out in AZ and NC? How much of a profile does DeSantis have with low turnout voters? Can Trump overcome negative profile with establishment R?
Counter to both questions is can R machine mitigate this by engaging in a well-run ballot collecting operation in these states?

Thanks Vicki and Gilas
Firstly, Gilas – I don’t think there’s anything wrong with seeing some bad blood numbers and having a change of heart (so to speak). But I agree that much of it is beyond science at present. Family history, history and the way you’ve treated your body do count.
Vicki – No statins or anything like that recommended. Just a cut down in ciggies and a bit more exercise really, which never did anyone any harm…
These are for me, either way, benchmark figures now (never had them done before), we’ll see which way they go in 3 months.
What are your trigs and HDL, Vicki? Trigs low, HDL high is good.
Rubbish.
Low Triglycerides doesn’t matter, High Density Lipids/ LDL ratio is the important number.
Vicki, don’t go down that GP’s rabbit hole. Statins are useless unless you’ve had a heart attack. Even then the benefit may just be as a blood thinner. Take aspirin instead. Go read Dr Malcolm Kendrick.
Oh Eyrie! We are on the same page! I have read much of Malcolm Kendrick’s work – but he is regarded as a heretic by the medical profession. The trouble is – that it is not just the GPs who believe the statin rubbish. My husband has less arterial thickening than I do – yet his cardiologist prescribed statins (which he doesn’t take).
But we have seen during Covid how difficult it is to battle with the medicos. So much has been revealed in the last two years – particularly (& terrifyingly) in relation to the fraud perpetrated in lauded medical journals. But what do you do? The obvious answer is the correct answer.
Trump is a Democrat Trojan Horse.
Let’s say running Tshibaka against Murkowski was legit.
Okay, Tshibaka didn’t quite get there, the right thing to do, considering the peculiar Alaskan voting system, woulda been to endorse Murkowski.
What’s happened now is that the 4th place Republican, who endorsed Tshibaka and the Democrat will now get behind Tshibaka in the runoff and defeat Murkowski.
How long before Tshibaka patches over to the Democrats?
About 5 minutes after Trump loses 2024.
And she’ll still have 4 years of her term left and a D in the White House.
It seems people have already forgotten what Trump was up against in the Republican primaries of 2015-16.

Yes Eyrie – and my trigs are low. The only problem that I see, in my case, is the question of stress – which is not a good complement for a healthy heart. It is my weak spot. The millennial Drought, the subsequent Gosper fires, and now the floods (fences wiped out, though no loss of stock)- plus a strange series of adverse familial events – have reactivated my poor stress response.
It is annoying that the medical intervention is actually exacerbating the stress.

Indeed. But you know how it is – the MSM feed directly on the media releases of assorted ‘experts’. I was a little unsettled by Zelensky however. He was strident and really seems to want NATO involvement. Then it really may be down to the Colonels to supervise the count.
The world is slowly. ..too fucking slowly….waking up to what is happening.
Maybe you might ask yourself WHY Trump has announced his run so soon.
What we do…Trump and the people. ..before rhe 2024 elections will be more important than the elections themselves.
The fight …..and the exposing of truths must be done way before the campaigns begin.
That’s why the Dems have been working so hard to co-opt the officer class and knobble the lower ranks through woke purity tests and Covid mandates. It’s been successful.
Erdogan did exactly this before he made his move – purged the military of Kemalists so that his takeover would not be knocked over by a coup, like al-Sisi did to Morsi in Egypt.
Unfortunately with the military, justice system, macroeconomics and health under the control of the Democrats there’s now no going back. It’s 1453 and Emperor Biden is fiddling while the barbarians are at the gates. I won’t say though what Biden is fiddling.
Actually it’s the opposite…. all* the traditional inputs to the cardiovascular risk algorithms (age weight, sugar profile, blood pressure etc) are, at best, indirect measures because NONE actually measure the presence of the disease itself
* I left cholesterol out because it IS NOT a risk factor at all – definitely re a d McKendrick and have Dover connect you with me if you want to discuss – I have had a calcium scan.
The calcium score, however, does actually demonstrate actual coronary disease because calcium is laid down inside the scars of the plaques themselves. There are plenty of people with high ‘risk factor’ scores but NO ACTUAL DISEASE, and vice versa.
Australian media doesn’t seem interested in the January 2022 huge Hunga Tonga explosion that launched water vapour, dust and gases way up into the upper atmosphere and (very likely) kick-started the amazing rainfall patterns we have been experiencing ever since.
Doesn’t suit the narrative.
Chris Kenny doesn’t quite know whether he’s Daytime Sky or Sky After Dark.
He’s (i) all in favour of The Voice, and (ii) ardently anti-Trump.
PS .. on way home now after 3 day post convoy trial in Canberra – decision reserved for a few days but hoping for acquits on all 4 charges. My defence shredded them and they didn’t lay a finger on us – their losing the body cam vision which exonerated me (flat battery – waddayagonna do?) was described as ‘curious’ by the judge when my own film was played instead. They made the mistake of presenting all 4 prosecution witnesses (3x AFP) with identical stories – which my own film refuted.
Great, now we have Muntster, Head Case, Sancho and John H. doing their best to denature the blog.
Excellent news Duk. Look forward to hearing you have been exonerated.
To be fair Sky News had a good article about it several weeks ago as I recall. But I wouldn’t call Sky a part of the Aussie MSM, at least not yet. The swampies at Newscorp are clearly trying to elastrate them though.
Hope all ends well for you Duk.
My pas-a-deux Trump line is
“no, he’s not a nice person… but, by God, he’s right about everything. Everything.”
Good stuff Dr Duk.
Can we look forward to a guest post summary of the incident, trial and aftermath?
flyingduk – did your case look Perry Masonish with the prosecution dealing all their cards only to be trumped at the last minute by your video, refuting said testimony?
(asking for a video maker friend)
Russian made rocket, eh?
Heheh, Channel 7.
The war is fake.
Yeah, I know, soldiers are getting killed.
It’s still a fake war.
I see both Elbow and Wendy Pong made fools of themselves today condemning the Russian missile attack on Poland before waiting for the real story. The country is in the very best of hands.
Duk, I’m so glad for you. Well done.
I recall that movie The Sum of All Fears. It wasn’t great but I loved the motive:
A rogue Nazi group, not affiliated with any country, is determined to pit US against Russia by blowing up a nuke in the US to “reset” the system.
Shit acting and terrible screenplay. The script really loses the plot but I thought it had a good start.
Great, now we have Muntster, Head Case, Sancho and John H. doing their best to denature the blog.
Huh?
Monty provided balanced coverage of the MidTerms, Sancho is The Plague and what has John H written, one way or the other?
Well well well…
https://nypost.com/2022/09/30/china-has-opened-police-stations-in-us-and-canada-to-monitor-chinese-citizens-report/amp/
Over 100 Chinese “police stations” opened in non-Chinese countries…
Duk, the pigs lost the evidence, huh? Seen that game played before. Saw a rape trial once where the pigs “lost” the original transcript of the complaint but the pig concerned swore that what she provided to the court later was word for word.
Lysander, the Tom Clancy novel had a much better plot line and bad guys. Changed for the movie, for the much worse.
My pas-a-deux Trump line is
“no, he’s not a nice person… but, by God, he’s right about everything. Everything.”
Trump had a mandate to build the wall. What did he do?
Nothing.
Trump promised to lock Hillary Clinton up. What did he do?
Nothing.
Trump promised to end the Wars and bring the boys home. What did he do?
Nothing.
Trump promised to bring the jobs back from China. What did he do?
Nothing.
Seeing a pattern here?
Trump is on the long game. He knows that between now and 2024 elections a lot will change. All it will take is for a couple of Governor swaps, after all there are deaths and resignations, and voting procedures could change as they did in Florida. Also given the trajectory Of Biden /Democrat policies and their impact on Americans as a whole he could wipe out much resistance. As he says he is there for America and the people.
Good work Duk. Get up those Keystone Kops.
The calcium score, however, does actually demonstrate actual coronary disease because calcium is laid down inside the scars of the plaques themselves. There are plenty of people with high ‘risk factor’ scores but NO ACTUAL DISEASE, and vice versa.
Thanks for that duk! I had read somewhere that the danger arises when the plaque breaks off for some reason……with the result of thrombosis (?)
I guess my next step would be to have an echo/stress test to assess blood flow through the two suspect arteries. My score, I think, was 160/400 – which apparently is regarded (with other factors?) as “moderate plaque burden” or an Intermediate Risk.
Thank you for the offer to discuss through Dover. I will take you up on that.
Absolutely. Each of the 4 prosecution witnesses went first in order. Each read their prepared script – in particular all the cones, flashing lights, traffic signs etc which I crashed through whilst deliberately charging at the road worker – each was asked if they had a good view, a clear recollection etc, and if they were SURE about their recall – then struggled to find even a single cone when shown my vision of the scene.
Fun fact, the driver of the AFP unit which just happened to be in the right place at the right time to ‘witness’ me crashing the mythical roadblock was, in an amazing coincidence, seconded to the COVID Taskforce at the time.
More in a few days.
Lysander says:

I recall that movie The Sum of All Fears.
That was on TV (again) a few nights ago. Yeah, acting is ordinary but the premise is good. Had the potential to be a terrific film…..
Not quite – they lost the evidence of my innocence…. lucky I didnt
Duk good news. Why does the beak have to deliberate for 3 days when your video evidence refutes the prosecution as liars. Just another case that never should have got anywhere near a court. Do you get costs for a false accusation.
Re Dover’s questions above:
Trump is on the long game. He knows that between now and 2024 elections a lot will change. All it will take is for a couple of Governor swaps, after all there are deaths and resignations, and voting procedures could change as they did in Florida. Just got a call from the local liberal candidates office.
Used my 18 minutes to politely give them a serve over Morrison’s and state liberals gutless response to covid, and their metoo climate crap.
Made it very clear I and my family hate Andrew’s stinking guts but liberals hadn’t done enough and they should have given more prominence to their commitment to overturn pandemic legislation and that metoo on solar panel rebates etc wasn’t ever going to give Victorians cheap reliable energy and what we really needed was more, cleaner, coal power.
Let them know I’d voted minor parties and if they were lucky they might pick up preferences.
If you show they are obviously lying, can you sue them? These scum need to be punished back to the stone age.
It’s obvious corruption. The police have conspired to pervert the course of justice.
What does the Beak do? No wonder they need three days.
Not only conspiracy, but lying under oath.
Big trouble in little canberra.
“In the past he had solid media, public figure, and GOP members behind him. “
When? I’ll tell you when….NEVER. Donald Trump never had solid media, public figures and GOP establishment members behind him, not in 2016, not in 2022. Trump has always been the outsider.
They made the mistake of presenting all 4 prosecution witnesses (3x AFP) with identical stories – which my own film refuted.
Ima gunna top you there..
Friends brother went whackerdoodle off his meds mad and broke into his dads place before shooting a lady across the road.
Cops attended and arrested/took away for questioning the dead ladies husband and son.
Few hors later they are driving down the street and wonder if they might want to question the naked man trying to chop his way back into the house with a carving knife 3 doors down and across the street from the shooting.
Easiest case on earth right?
Except for the cops catching the lady sergeant arranging the evidence to make it more “compelling” in their own filming of the mad chaps crime scene.
Judge noted it for its irregularity and breach of good procedure.
Chap was obviously guilty, but mad as a hatter.
Chap was obviously barking mad, diagnosed mental ill before, off his meds and drunk/incoherent.
But he shot the lady a few months after Port Arthur so was found to be sane and sent to prison.
Where he chopped off his dick, became a lady only to change his mind a couple of years later.
So to be a bummer, your crime is political, so may need a political verdict despite police malfeasance.
My lawyer says it’s standard. Judge will give a comprehensive written judgement to avoid AFP appealing.
Assuming I get the win, I get part costs.
Nothing corrupt in the AFP evidence you understand … the judge labelled it ‘curious’ not corrupt.
He’s Back, President Donald J Trump Officially Declares His Candidacy to Run for President in 2024
November 16, 2022 – Sundance
I have written and deleted a thousand words, repeatedly, in an effort to encapsulate what this moment means to me, and perhaps to others. However, when you boil the essence of the thing down to its important part,
you are left with a question: Which American politician loves this country more than Donald John Trump?
The honest answer is ‘no one’.
There’s not a force of man or nature as strong in its devotion to a mission, as Donald Trump is to this nation. That’s the core, the heart, the genuine essence of the thing, that separates President Trump from all others. Within that love of country, is a strength of determination that is almost uncanny to witness; and from that love of country an authenticity emanates that is impossible to duplicate.
Donald J Trump is, quite simply, unapologetically American – and tens of millions just love him for it.
Tonight, with his family by his side, President Donald Trump announced his intention to seek the GOP nomination in 2024 and run for President of the United States.
Yes, I don’t give a flying flip what any detractor of this nation might try to say, Donald Trump is exactly what we need.
Many people are exhausted from the battle to save this republic. Many people are frustrated and despondent from the scale of the effort it takes to push back against the metastatic corruption that has infected our entire body politic.
Even more people are tired of having to constantly look behind the duplicitous motives and conniving schemes of the professional political class, and for those people Trump kneels and says, ‘get on my back and rest for a moment’.
Additionally, President Trump purged the conniving DeceptiCons, the duplicitous Republicans who existed to maintain the UniParty, by forcing the GOPe liars to expose themselves in his opposition. No longer is a conversation needed to convince people that most politicians are part of one DC UniParty apparatus. Two wings of the same corrupt vulture feeding on the carcass of our republic. Everyone can see that now, thanks to Donald Trump.
Despite their refusal to accept reality, the Bush, Cheney, McConnell, McCain, Romney Republican Party is gone. Donald Trump destroyed it. The Republican Party will never again be the Bush-Romney Republican Party. Donald Trump opened the door, and the working-class has moved in to take control. The Republican party is not going back to the Bush/Romney outlook, regardless of how much Mitch McConnell tries to scheme its return.
We need a Big Ugly wrecking ball to unseat the corrupt power structures that Trump alone made visible.
There is no other person in this era of our nation’s history with the capacity to do that. Only Donald J Trump has the energy and fortitude to carry out this fight.
I would not miss this opportunity for anything.
I’m all in.

Donald Trump Announces 2024 Run for President: ‘America’s Comeback Starts Right Now’
Please do, there are a lot of inconsistencies in the standard narrative. I had several ‘supra maximal’ stress echo’s which I requested t o assess baseline risk (despite no sympt). I then fought for a calcium score which showed a single 60% block and a a score of 18.
Cardiologist went ‘statins’ – I said no thanks – its probably old scarring from before I went carnivore (I used to have high BP) and will repeat as t in a year.

Joe Biden Stages 30-Second Photo-Op Responding to Explosion in Poland
President Joe Biden gathered with world leaders at the G20 summit in Indonesia on Wednesday for a special roundtable meeting to respond to the deadly explosions that took place in Poland.
The White House brought in members of the media for access to the meeting, attempting to demonstrate that Biden was in control and leading the global response to the crisis.
Poland said a Russian-made missile fell in the country, killing two people, according to the Associated Press.
The hastily organized roundtable meeting at the location of the G20 summit was announced in response to the news, and the media was organized to mark the occasion.
While the press expected Biden to address the crisis, he did not, simply staring into the cameras for about 30 seconds before his handlers asked the press to leave.
When one reporter asked the president if he could reveal what he had learned about the explosions,
Biden replied simply, “No.”
No other comments
Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich speculated that Biden might have been unaware that he was expected to speak.
If Trump was no longer a threat to the establishment, then I assume he would have been unbanned from everything ages ago.
If he’s allowed back into the mainstream over the next week as if nothing has happened since 2015, then we’ll know for sure that they no longer fear him, that he’s a spent force, and they want him back as a spoiler to ruin everything for someone like Desantis.
I can’t see much of that happening, so I would assume Trump still scares the shit out of his enemies on the left and the right.
Bolt characterises Trump’s speech as flat and rambling. Has Bolt ever listened to himself?
Well done – I won’t go into the ins-and-outs of a duck’s intestines as to my attempts to get a Director’s ID but I’ve had to complete a paper form, I’ve also sworn a statutory declaration which will accompany said form and with fingers-crossed am hoping for a Director’s ID in due course.
Lotsa chatter in MAGA circles of Trump starting a new political party.
It’s always wise to wait 48 hours after Trump says/does anything before you think you understand what he just said/did.
How to cut off your nose to spite your face. It’s a term little used these days. But, if your highest priority is to get rid of Andrews vote for the Libs. He’s running to fix the Republican Party.
I suspect a little revenge may be in it too.
Which I wholeheartedly support 100%.
We could do with this for the Liberals.

If being a “nice person” is a selection criterion, then that excludes Bill Clinton, Obama and Biden from the recent presidents, and also McCain, Shrillary and AlGore from among the recent hopefuls.

Last week he was attacking some Labor candidate who bought a Certificate of Aboriginality [titter].
He did that by introducing Michael Mansell as an expert on being Aboriginal.

Gina Rinehart spotted at Donald Trump US presidential campaign launch
Australia’s richest person, Gina Rinehart, has been outed as an attendee of Donald Trump’s latest presidential campaign launch courtesy of an inadvertent social media post by Eric Trump.
Mrs Rinehart, wearing her signature pearl necklace, is seated behind Eric Trump and his wife, Lara, in a selfie posted to Instagram by the former US president’s third son.
Donald Trump earlier on Wednesday used an event at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida to confirm he would run for president in 2024.
The iron ore magnate, who is estimated to be worth $US21.9bn ($32.4bn), appeared to have secured a prime position for herself at the launch, given her proximity to Eric Trump.
And while the most proximal seats at such events will typically be reserved for key financial backers, US laws prevent foreign nationals from making any kind of contribution or donation in connection with any federal, state or local election.
Mrs Rinehart has long had a close association with the conservative side of politics and has previously praised Mr Trump.
In a statement posted to the website of her company Hancock Prospecting shortly before Mr Trump was sworn in as president, titled “Gina Rinehart: Donald Trump shows us the way to succeed”, she praised his plans to reduce government tape and taxation. She also said at the time that she had met members of Mr Trump’s campaign team, including former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani and campaign manager Kellyanne Conway.
In Australia, Mrs Rinehart has long been a champion for the likes of former deputy prime minister Barnaby Joyce and speaking out against climate change “propaganda”. Her private companies have also recruited several former Liberal Party figures after they have left parliament.
During the most recent federal election campaign, Mrs Rinehart agreed to speak at a fundraiser being held by members of the WA Liberal Party’s Curtin division. The event caused divisions within the party – the Liberal incumbent in Curtin at the time, Celia Hammond, was in a fierce and ultimately unsuccessful battle with teal independent Kate Chaney – and was ultimately cancelled in response to the state’s growing Covid outbreak.
Hancock Prospecting was contacted for comment.
Lucky Gina.
