I think this is reasonable.

British nuclear test veterans to be honoured with medal (Sky News, 22 Nov)

“Australian veterans and scientists who took part in Britain’s nuclear testing program seven decades ago are to receive a service medal after years of campaigning.

Royal Australian Air Force veteran Rex Kaye discussed his experience with Sky News Australia.”

Something to be proud of. Be more so if we had a nuclear deterrent ourselves as a result of that campaign.

I don’t want to take the Wrongologist Record At the Cat (WRAC) Award off Munted but I think Andrews will win both his seat and government again (**sighs**):

This translates to a two-party preferred of 53-47 in favour of Labor, compared with 59-41 last time. Daniel Andrews’ lead as preferred premier has narrowed from 49-28 to 48-34. The poll was conducted Wednesday to Sunday from a sample of 1000.

I swear, Perth has a weather forcefield around it.

Cafe Bruce does. It’s called Lake Macquarie. Quite amazing what such a feature can do to local weather patterns. Oftentimes there will be clouds all around the sides of the lake but as soon as they approach they evaporate. Maybe the Swan estuary has the same effect for you.

I suspect the libs will just run out of time to get break through. I hope I’m wrong though as the polls have really shown a material shift. The Libs campaign has really been energetic and hard hitting compared to the past. I’m actually surprised how good they’ve been in painting the Hunchback as an out of control prick. The Liberal Party is popular with the Turkish Community.
According to Wiki:

In Melbourne they reside largely in the suburbs of Broadmeadows, Meadow Heights, Collingwood, Brunswick, Coburg, Fitzroy, Richmond, Springvale and Dandenong.

So, labor are funding a couple of Turks [through Glenn Druery] to draw the vote away from the Liberal Party.
It’s an old Labor trick, but it often works.

Indeed JC, Guy perhaps (?) left his run too late or, was ignored by meeja.

I see there are 12 Liebor seats on less than 5% margin (but two are Labor Vs Green) and you’d think there’d be some pick ups there for the Libs and perhaps a few more outliers.

I reckon the Greens will pick up 5. I’ll stick with 3 independents. That leaves 80 seats (currently 55 Liebor, 27 LNP)… so to win outright, LNP will need to pick up 14 seats. Not out of this world but also, sadly, unlikely as it means picking up seats with a greater than 10%+ swing. I’m ever optimistic that Victorians aren’t (complete) morons.

Still, amazing what you can fit in inbetween times. Next gatherings down south or Canberra way likely to be around Easter.

What does this mean, can’t they add up.
The Monte Bello Test was in 1957, that wasn’t “7 decades ago”.
Who’s doing the campaigning?
Here’s a more realistic Scenario:
Most of the people have died, many well before their time, and the campaigning was to tell the story of what really happened and how they were treated by TPTB..

One day at the end of class little Billy’s teacher has the class go home and think of a story and then conclude the moral of that story.

The next day Billy tells his story: “My dad fought in the Vietnam war, his plane was shot down over enemy territory. He jumped out before it crashed with only a case of beer, a machine gun and a machete. On the way down he drank the case of beer. Unfortunately, he landed right in the middle of 100 Vietnamese soldiers. He shot 70 with his machine gun, but ran out of bullets, so he pulled out his machete and killed 20 more, but the blade on his machete broke, so he killed the last ten with his bare hands”

Teacher looks in shock at Billy and asks if there is possibly any moral to his story.

Billy replies “Yeah… don’t fuck with my dad when he’s been drinking”

Paywallian:

Nine stripped of Walkley Award over Andrew Laming report
For the first time in its 67-year history, the Walkley Foundation has rescinded one of its prestigious journalism awards, ruling that a report into the alleged misconduct of one-time federal MP Andrew Laming was undeserving of the top industry honour.
Nine Entertainment’s Peter Fegan and Rebeka Powell won the 2021 Walkley Award in the television/video news reporting category for their reports on Dr Laming’s alleged misconduct; the pair also won a Clarion award (at the Queensland media awards) for their investigation into the MP.
One of the central allegations of Nine’s reports, which aired in March 2021, was that Dr Laming had committed the criminal act of “upskirting” – taking a sexually intrusive photograph of someone without their permission.
That claim — that Dr Laming had “upskirted” a woman at her Brisbane workplace — was subsequently proven to be untrue. The politician, who vehemently denied the accusation, was never charged with the offence.
In September, Dr Laming settled a defamation case against Nine in the Federal Court, during which the network accepted that the “upskirting”claim in one of the reports which was included in its Walkley Award-winning entry was untrue.
The Walkley Foundation sought independent legal advice from Will Houghton KC as to whether the award should be rescinded, and Mr Houghton delivered his advice to the journalism awards body earlier this month.
However, the Walkley Foundation opted not to release its decision on the matter until after its annual gala dinner, which was held last Thursday.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Walkley Foundation said: “The Directors appreciate that parties settle defamation proceedings for any number of reasons. The Federal Court proceeding settling on confidential terms and the limited apology by Nine was not decisive by itself to justify the withdrawal of the Award, but in all the circumstances the Board resolved the award could not be maintained in respect of the third report.
“The first two reports in this series contained allegations that were very serious and raised important issues of public interest, but the award could not be maintained solely upon those allegations.
“Accordingly, the Directors have resolved to withdraw the award.
New & improved business newsletter. Get the edge with AM and PM briefings, plus breaking news alerts in your inbox.

“The Directors also note that defamation proceedings are not an exhaustive fact finding inquiry, or the Foundation’s chosen vehicle through which to assess journalistic merit.
“The relevant parties have been advised. The 2021 award for Television/Video News Reporting will not be presented to either of the other finalists as the Walkley Judging Board did not select a runner-up.
“The Foundation makes no further comment on the decision to withdraw the award.
“The Walkley Foundation has previously announced that it will conduct a separate process to review the organisation’s complaints mechanism utilising the skills of a panel of independent experts.”
Nine’s director of News and Current Affairs, Darren Wick, said: “This decision by the Walkley Foundation is extremely disappointing, and sets a very concerning precedent. Nine stands by the journalists involved and the importance of the work they produced, and as an organisation will not be deterred from pursuing challenging journalism that serves and informs the community.
“The current state of defamation law in Australia poses a significant threat to public interest journalism. Decisions about the settlement of legal proceedings are not always a reflection of the journalistic merits of a story. These reports were important examinations of the conduct of a politician, which contributed to a broader social discourse about what standards the community expects from its elected leaders.”
In a statement on behalf of the ex-politician, Dr Laming’s lawyer Rebekah Giles said: “Dr Laming welcomes the decision of the Walkley Foundation Board to withdraw its Award for Television/Video News Reporting to Nine for its coverage of the false allegations made against him in March 2021.
“The self-nominated Award gave credibility to false and damaging allegations that should never have been published.
“The Walkley Foundation judging panel were aware of Dr Laming’s legal complaints yet proceeded to grant the Award without making any enquiries of him about the substance of those complaints.
“The Walkley Foundation and other bodies should review their processes when legal claims have been made in relation to nominated publications. Dr Laming calls on the Media & Entertainment Arts Alliance to take similar action in respect of the 2021 Clarion Awards.”
The MEAA, which administers both the Walkleys and the Clarion Awards, did not return phone calls from The Australian.

Regarding publicity of Duk victory.

Rowan Dean has been the best supporter of the freedom movement in relation to mandates and Vax etc and coverage on his show and in Spectator.

However Ben Fordham has recently shown good support which is interesting considering scum Hadley goes to air just after him. If Duk could get into his show it would have a lot of cut through. Ben has a much larger audience than Rowan. Due to the timing of Rowans show, being late evening, not much of his worthy content makes it into the mainstream media. However quite a bit of Ben’s stuff does get picked up by the Telegraph and Daily Mail.

Cassie of Sydney says:
November 22, 2022 at 3:50 pm
So, Daniel Andrew, Victorian Labor and the left in general think that the state of Victoria is a hotbed of National Socialism and there are Nazis everywhere. Well, of course they don’t believe that. However it’s a useful smear tactic, aimed firstly at distracting the electorate, and secondly it’s designed to intimidate and silence opposition. Nobody wants to be called a racist or a Nazi. Now, moving forward watch federal Labor use the same tactic to smear and silence conservatives, right-wingers and libertarians. Everyone who isn’t progressive, and who isn’t a leftist is now “far-right”, “racist”, “Nazi”.

What’s both amusing and troubling is that Danny boy, with a straight face, says how much he’s worried about the “divisive Americanisation” of Australian politics and yet in the next breath he starts shouting about the Liberals preferencing Nazis and racists.

Whilst not a fan of Matthew Guy, to his credit yesterday afternoon, when asked about Andrews’ smear, did finally show some spine and say that Andrews should look in the mirror.

I hope Danny the hunchback is defeated on Saturday. I don’t have much hope but you never know.

My forecast is that Labor will form a minority govt with the Greens (actually the worst case scenario for Victoria which I think you’re forecasted a few days ago).

The Libs have actually campaigned far better than Andrews and have the momentum, and whilst I held my nose voting for them in the Lower House (no real alternative in my electorate) I voted differently for the Upper House. God knows how that will end up.

Andrews is now seriously on the nose here in Victoria and is facing some stiff competition in his own seat from Ian Cook (I’d give Cook a 10% chance of upsetting the Imbecile).

As for the Libs, I reckon they have a 25% chance of winning, which a month ago I’d have given them a 1% chance.

If by some small miracle the Libs prevail, they will be useless but at least Andrews would be out and potentially facing some squeaky bum time as the Libs have promised a Royal Commission into the state’s COVID response including the amnesia re hotel quarantine.

I too would far prefer to keep that function for site emergencies. May it soon be so.

Russian Defense Promotional Film Shows Military Plane Blowing Up Chinese Warship (21 Nov)

“In a video shown by the Russian exhibitor at the Zhuhai air show, a Russian-made MiG-29 fighter jet launched an anti-ship missile attack on a Chinese warship, which instantly burst into flames.

A Chinese online military media outlet commented on the video, “At first glance, it was just an ordinary computer-generated publicity video, but when you take a closer look at the bombed ‘enemy ship,’ why does it look so familiar?

It turned out that the warship being bombed was China’s 052D destroyer.” “This scene is too awkward indeed. After all, China and Russia [are] strategic partners,” the article said.”

Peters severs ties with NZ Labour, lashes Ardern
By Ben McKay
November 22, 2022 — 1.56pm

Wellington: Former New Zealand deputy prime minister Winston Peters has severed ties with Jacinda Ardern’s government, promising to never again support or form a coalition with Labour while she is in charge.

The enduring force of Kiwi politics is attempting to once again enter parliament at the age of 78, after losing office in the 2020 Labour landslide.

It was Peters’ NZ First party which propelled Labour into power in 2017, making Ardern prime minister after weeks of tense coalition negotiations.

In return, Ardern made Peters her deputy and foreign minister, posts he held for three years while Labour and NZ First governed together, with the Greens also taking posts outside cabinet in a tripartite coalition.

That working relationship is now dead after Peters said the Ardern government’s “dishonesty” meant he would not countenance supporting it after the 2023 election.

“Lying to their coalition partner and going back on their word is the reason we will not go back into government with them … nobody lies to me and gets a second chance,” he said.

Peters had accused Ardern’s government of a separatist agenda as it commissioned a report into New Zealand’s obligations under the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in 2019.

This has bled into an argument over “co-governance”, a local term for the growing Maori influence within government policy and decision-making.

The debate, which stems from varying understandings of NZ’s founding document – the Treaty of Waitangi – has an unfortunate racial tinge, and is something of an obsession of populist candidates like Peters.

Peters said Labour had a “separatist plan where some New Zealanders will have more rights than others”.

Ardern brushed off his attack, saying “lots of politicians say lots of things about one another”.

All is not well in the bouncy castle?

Rhode Island School Official Says ‘Misgendering’ Trans Children is an ‘Act of Violence’ and ‘Needs to Be Dealt With Accordingly’

You and I understand ‘violence’ to be a bit like punching someone in the face.
Post ‘woke’ and we find it has another meaning that none of us took into account –

“Violence is defined by the World Health Organization as ‘the intentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against oneself, another person, or against a group or community, that either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, maldevelopment or deprivation,’” Lima added.
The school official continued, “any act of violence in our schools which creates an unsafe environment (physically or emotionally by or for any member of the school community) needs to be dealt with accordingly.”
“Purposefully misgendering students is an act of violence,” Lima’s post continued. “Respond accordingly.”

See how it works?

Police will not charge an independent MP for controversial comments made at a freedom rally.

Victoria Police said the force had “completed its assessment” of the reported comments made by MP Catherine Cumming outside Flinders Street Station on November 19.

“It has been determined that no offence has been committed and Victoria Police will not be taking the matter any further,” a police statement said on Tuesday.

Baby steps. Meanwhile, further down the same piece:

Red mist is a military term referring to the blood of a victim targeted by a sniper.

Back from dinner and off to bed but thanks all for the support!

I will let the dust settle for a day or 3, and have already spoken to Hoody who passed my contact details on to Rowan Dean. Mark Neugaber from the independent freedom media in Adelaide has also been supportive throughout.

As for payback – I won 2 major victories here:

1) I neutered their attempts to pin me with very serious charges – any one of the 4 sticking would have seen at least my gun licence, if not my various truck licences go away.
2) I struck a blow for freedom – they have now, twice, tried to make an example of me and failed both times (hello Streisand effect) with my reputation if anything, enhanced. Perhaps they will think twice next time.

I lack sufficient confidence in the system to believe I will get any sort of compensation, apology etc, but I will use my treatment as a catalyst to ask Senator Antic to look into the robustness of the police ‘bodycam’ system. Those cameras protect both police AND the public, and the all too convenient failure of their cameras to record events (despite them acknowledging, as captured on my camera, that they were recording me, and would retain that vision for my use in court) could have seen me in prison were it not for my own film. We need more accountability on such vision, including significant penalties for officers who fail to ensure that their cameras are functional, switched on, and that the resultant vision is retained. That alone would be a valuable win, as it might help others in future.

Read the brutal swipe Jacinta Price took at Lisa Wilkinson as she quits The Project whinging about ‘toxicity’ – as the Senator demands millionaire TV star learn what ‘tough’ means to everyday Aussies

Lisa Wilkinson sensationally quit Channel 10’s The Project on Sunday night
Jacinta Price lashed out in a Facebook post on Monday, reopening old wounds
Ms Price has been in war of words with Wilkinson’s husband Peter FitzSimons

Jacinta Price has delivered a blistering response to Lisa Wilkinson after she announced she was quitting The Project over ‘targeted toxicity’, saying the TV star should leave her inner-city bubble and see what real strife is like out in the bush.

The Channel 10 star announced her shock departure from the programme on Sunday after five years, admitting the last six months had taken a ‘toll’ and ‘not been easy’.

Her complaints prompted Indigenous senator Ms Price, who grew up in Alice Springs and has been locked in a bitter months-long feud with Wilkinson’s husband Peter FitzSimons, to unleash a brutal swipe on Facebook.

‘Perhaps you and your husband might want to spend a few months out bush now that you have the time, to see what tough means to every day Australians and some our most marginalised in communities that are far far away from the sunny north shore?’, she wrote

The law really needs to go further and provide where body cameras were present and the resulting video footage is unavailable a decision maker can draw an adverse inference against the party who would otherwise seek to rely on that video evidence.

Bullseye! by Jacinta Price.

The Leak cartoon of her phone call with Fitzsimian will never grow old.
Btw, anybody know if Fitzsimian ever got around to releasing his recording of the call?
Or do we still just hafta take his word for what got said?

By the attitude the drongo is publicly exhibiting, the prescription was his own cranium, firmly self-administered as a suppository.

Middle daughter accompanied ex to vote early. Ex has no particular interest in politics, but daughter does. Not surprising given that thus far, government has wrecked about 7% of her time on earth.

Anyway, see sent me a text seeking guidance on who to vote for. I ended up replying late with my thoughts. They’d already voted, she didn’t need any guidance.

The generation that’s going to be voting within the next 5 years aren’t going to be taking any of this woke or big government shit.

I’m not so sure, Rick. The Teals support was doctors wives and kids from those electorates terrorizing folks about climate change. There’s this:

Among the youngest Americans, Democrats have held an advantage in votes for House of Representatives candidates in every midterm or presidential election since the late 1990s. Yet in 2022, the 18- to 29-year-old age group (made up of Gen Z and the youngest millennials) showed an even more pronounced shift toward Democrats. It is one of the few demographic groups to show a higher D-R margin in the nationwide House vote than for the 2020 presidential election (D-R value of 28 in 2022, compared to 24 in 2020). This is amplified by the fact that this age group—as in the 2018 midterms and 2020 presidential election—registered a rise in turnout compared to pre-2018 elections, according to a Tufts University analysis.

D-R vote margins by age, 2014, 2018, 2020, and 2022

This is going to be a good business.

German Companies Scramble to Buy Generators Amid Grid Collapse Fears (22 Nov)

“…Der Spiegel reporting that the country is now well and truly experiencing a run on electricity generators.

According to the newspaper, a company spokesman for engine manufacturer Rolls Royce has described business this year as being extremely good for the company, with its entire 2023 stock of generators being nearly sold out by the first half of 2022”

It’s going to be the same here before long. Any shop with refrigerators will need them, and likewise any company with essential computer hardware. The other problem is diesel – pressure on diesel prices is going to get ever worse as it gets diverted to electricity production. Welcome to the third world.

For instance, in the 20’s and 30’s my mother’s family was running diesel generators on Espiritu Santo, New Hebrides. Talking to a missionary family a couple of weeks ago, who live in the same location, nothing has changed. Except the price of fuel. They can only afford to run the thing for an hour or two a day, now. On the present trajectory that will be every two days.

Multiply that by a worldwide multitude of remote locations relying on refrigeration, for a start.

I have a pic to prove this – even to myself!

God it’s good to be back in NYC among normal people. This what I saw plus I have a photo and wifey’s word that it’s true because she saw it too. We were walking along one of the streets in Soho and I see a black trannie riding a bike. The bike had a large basket thing at the front and inside the basket there were a bunch of plastic human skeletons. Attached to the rear of the bike was a rope dragging three human skeletons from upper torso on up including the heads. This roadshow was traveling at a leisurely pace. No one really gave a shit as they appeared to have seen stuff like this before.

The number of sane, independent minded ppl is always small; too many are gullible herd animals. That’s just the way it is. We’re a fairly pathetic species.

All the triumphs of civilisation are produced by a tiny minority. And quite often the corrupt parasites are in power, and are supported by the herd. That’s where we are.
