For years when someone would ask me what I thought the difference was between the Democrats and Republicans

my answer was: The Democrats want to take all our money and take total control over our lives right now. The Republicans are willing to wait a week.

FDA tries to weasel out of ever claiming it told people not to take ivermectin

Well, now we know why there was all this sudden amnesty talk going on to coddle and excuse COVID’s tyrants.

Obviously, they’re on the hot seat. They mocked and abused anyone trying to take ivermectin on an emergency off-label basis during a pandemic as stupid horse-paste abusers, evoking the specter of those who sniff glue or take TidePods to get high, to the extent that they put out public service announcements brimming with schoolyard-style scoldings on Twitter. Such as this one, here:

Context is important here. The mocking meme came in response to testimony from famous podcaster Joe Rogan who stated that his doctor-prescribed ivermectin regimen against COVID worked very well for him, killing his COVID case dead in a matter of days.

It also came as word from less-developed African countries, along with India and Peru, were able to stop mass deaths through the use of ivermectin, sometimes actually from the horse paste, given those countries’ lack of health care on a mass basis and their agricultural orientation. It was an effective stopgap measure that even taken haphazardly managed to saved millions of lives.

Which brings us to the lawsuit that triggered this sudden turn to weasel words from the FDA:

The hearing was held in a case brought by three doctors who say the FDA illegally interfered with their ability to prescribe medicine to their patients when it issued statements on ivermectin, an anti-parasitic that has shown positive results in some trials against COVID-19.

Ivermectin is approved by the FDA but not for COVID-19. Drugs are commonly used for non-approved purposes in the United States; the practice is known as off-label treatment.

If this is not a case that screams for investigation into the tentacles of Big Pharma and the corruption of the FDA, what is?

An Aussie in Idaho gets skint.

“An elderly couple’s adorable Mini Australian shepherd dog was filleted just three miles away from where four students were brutally murdered weeks later, sparking fears the same warped creep may be behind both attacks.

Pam and Jim Colbert’s dog Buddy was fatally skinned and sliced after being let out of their home in Moscow, Idaho, on October 21.

Pam, 78, says the 12 year-old pooch, who’d been rescued from a puppy mill, only had fur left on his legs and face after being defiled by an unknown sicko.”

Reminds me of the movie Gorky Park set in the other Moscow, which also had dead students, skinning and furry stuff going on. The perp does indeed sound like a sicko, so I forgive the Daily Mail their hyperbole.

Woman who lives near scene of Idaho murders says her adorable mini Australian Shepherd was Filleted weeks before quadruple-slaying, sparking fears same creep is behind both attacks (21 Nov)

Samizdata quote of the day – US political dumpster fire edition

As he announces his candidacy once again, Trump can boast of the impressive feat of being just as unpopular as the dreadful Joe Biden. A recent poll suggests that 65 per cent of Americans do not want Trump to run again; the exact same number do not want Biden to run again.

– Tom Slater
November 16th, 2022

DeSantis is the more competent and qualified candidate for the GOP banner, but the thing is he has time on his side and a second term of FL Governor to take care of until 2028. Trump doesn’t. Presumably a fair sized chunk of the 65% had not joined those dots last week.

If You Think Bob Iger Will Make Disney Better, I’ve Got Sour News for You

There are few companies that deserve more contempt than Disney. It’s an organization that built itself on wonder and magic, gifting children warm memories of adventures, princesses, and memorable stories but was overtaken by unapologetic activists bent on making the company a mouthpiece for their ideologies.

Soon, the magic kingdom was given over to lesser people, and instead of releasing products that merged creativity and joy, they wheeled out remakes, reboots, and unimaginative tripe that followed the demands of radical activists and Chinese dictators. You can’t even get on Disney+ and watch old classics without Disney giving you a guilt trip about it first.

While many people have opinions on where Disney began to sink, I can tell you that it didn’t start with outgoing CEO Bob Chapek.

But it was Iger that set this game plan for the company. Chapek was just the stooge that took the football and ran with it after Iger handed it off to him.

For starters, Iger has deep connections with China. As Fox News reported, Iger opened the doors for China’s control over the company. Iger began courting China in 2010 when he went on an apology tour with then-CEO Michael Eisner over the film Kundun, a biography of the Dalai Lama. From there he began trying to open theme parks in Shanghai:

Iger has never addressed the human rights abuses being suffered in China, especially the Uyghur Muslims and the concentration camps they’re kept in.

However, he has no problem weighing in on matters in America. When Georgia’s heartbeat bill passed, Iger said that Disney would likely no longer film there. Iger also resigned from President Donald Trump’s business advisory council after he withdrew from the Paris Climate Accords. Iger also began following the protocols of woke culture after promising to begin hiring people based on race and sex in order to diversify Disney, including within its executive ranks.

If you’re betting that Iger will turn the company around, then rest assured, he will not. While I’m willing to be pleasantly surprised, Iger will likely do whatever it takes to get Disney’s ESG score higher, which means a lot more leftist nonsense is in store for the house that Walt built.

Iger is not the man to lead Disney, and all clues point to him making its problems even worse.

Feminist Scholar Says Children Should Be ‘Raised by Society as a Whole’ in ‘Abolish the Family’ Speech at Major University

Scholar’s ‘Abolish the Family’ speech hosted at UMass Boston

Hillary Clinton once famously wrote a book titled “It Takes A Village.” One feminist scholar is taking that argument one step further, arguing children should be raised by society rather than just their parents.

An expert on “feminist, trans and queer politics and philosophy,” scholar Sophie Lewis on Nov. 16 spoke at UMass Boston at an event named after her October 2022 book, “Abolish the Family: A Manifesto for Care and Liberation.”

Lewis has said in her various writing and interviews that her goal through “abolishing the family” is to reimagine the notion of the family past fatherhood and motherhood into a more universal sense, where children are not “property” of parents, but raised by society as a whole.

“Let us overthrow, in short, the ‘family,’” its online description states.

Tokyo encourages residents to wear turtlenecks to save energy (19 Nov)

“TOKYO – Trying to stay warm while cutting energy bills this winter? Wear a turtleneck, says Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike.

Ms Koike, wearing one herself under a jacket, encouraged residents to don turtleneck jumpers, both to stay warm and as a way of reducing energy consumption.

“Warming the neck has a thermal effect. I’m wearing a turtleneck myself, and wearing a scarf also keeps you warm.

“This will save electricity,” Ms Koike told reporters on Friday.”

November 18, 2022

It’s the most anticipated heavyweight bout since Ali vs. Frazier. Donald Trump officially announced this week that he’s running for president in 2024, and it’s well-known that he only has one serious competitor for the GOP nomination: Florida governor Ron DeSantis (even though DeSantis hasn’t announced his run yet).

This puts conservatives in a quandary: Trump or DeSantis? The former president who brought down Roe, or the governor who faced down the Covid Regime? The man who promised to make American great again, or the one who made Florida a great place to live?

WA court orders supervision order on notorious paedophile less likely to offend after transition to woman
Tim Clarke
The West Australian
Mon, 21 November 2022 8:00PM

A dangerous sex offender — once convicted of an evil plot to set up a child abuse ring in Thailand with fellow paedophiles he met in prison — is free in the community having transitioned to living as a woman.

And a WA Supreme Court judge has said the decision by the 56-year-old, pictured, to change from he to she could reduce the risk of her reoffending against WA children.

Court documents reveal how the former RAAF recruit was already an “entrenched paedophile” — who had committed more than 1000 child sex crimes — up to her incarceration in Casuarina in 2005.

That is where she met and befriended Mark Pendleton, a former primary school teacher who had abused 11 young girls during a five-year spree which ended when he was found in possession of 37 pairs of tiny knickers.

While in prison together — supposedly in a sex offender treatment program — the pair began planning a new life in Thailand on their release. That plan included setting up a business making porcelain dolls and employing poor local women as their workers. The children of those women were intended to be their victims.

In 2008, after being released on parole, she contacted Thai women via dating apps, while reporting back to Pendleton in jail — calls which became part of the evidence collected by police.

After admitting her part in the plot, her evidence helped convict Pendleton as well. From 2008, she was declared a dangerous sexual offender, with a judge describing her as a “chronic” paedophile who was “unlikely to change significantly ever”.

Prosecutors said she had effectively planned to turn an orphanage into a “child brothel”.

Since 2012 she has been living in the community under strict conditions — which included the mandated taking of anti-libidinal medication.

Now she is living as a woman after being diagnosed in 2019 with gender dysphoria

After Intersectionalism

As ideology takes a back seat to intergroup competition, the future of ethnic conflict in America is going to look more like the past

Populist conservatives, meanwhile, fervently hope minorities like Latinos and Asians will go wholesale to the right, as many white ethnics did, becoming Reagan Democrats or Trump supporters. This may be wishful thinking, but in 2020 when Donald Trump—a man routinely labeled “racist,” along with his tens of millions of voters, by the mainstream media—gained a significantly larger share of the Latino vote than his predecessors, particularly in Florida and Texas, and picked up some support among African Americans as well. This pattern appears to have continued in the 2022 midterms, at least according to exit polls, with the GOP winning upwards of 40% of the Latino vote.

Equally intriguing has been the evolution of the Asian American community, with 27% of Asian Americans supporting Trump in 2016 and 31% in 2020. Some of this shift may be a reaction to the wave of violence inflicted upon Asians, often by African American assailants, whose actions, in the bizarre BIPOC formulation, are based not on interracial tensions but rather “white nationalism.” Many Asians also own small businesses vulnerable to the current crime wave, and San Francisco’s large Asian population played an outsize role in recalling the city’s prosecutor, Chesa Boudin, signaling their opposition to liberal policies like bail bond reform and softer sentences for criminals.

Even less popular among Latinos are progressive social orthodoxies—gender fluidity, new pronouns, sexual reassignment surgeries—which are not issues of concern for most minority working families. Latinos have certainly not taken to being called “Latinx,” with barely 4% of them embracing the term despite the academic-media duopoly’s best efforts to foist it upon “Latinx” people in the interest of gender politics.

The Democrats are now starting to take notice of Latinos’ growing support for Republican candidates and policies.

Evident in the changing politics of the Asian and Latino communities is the fact that America’s diversity is, well, diversifying. By 2050, according to Pew, Latinos will account for 29% of the American population, more than twice the Black share. Asians, meanwhile, will grow from a population of almost 12 million in 2000 to more than three times that number by midcentury. Taken together, Latinos and Asians will account for 40% of Americans and the vast majority of nonwhites

The real question is not how to prevent ethnic groups from uniting into some potential revolutionary force aimed at overthrowing the “white” majority, but how to integrate them into the broader economy and society. Doing so will not mean the elimination of all ethnic conflict, which, at its most basic level, is a healthy expression of minority groups fighting for their voice in a democratic society.

Sky News host Peta Credlin says Victorian voters have to decide “whether they really want another four years of incompetent and unprincipled government” in this week’s state election.

Da Spender has discovered gas.

Government needed to put more pressure on gas companies from ‘beginning of their term’ (22 Nov)

“Independent MP Allegra Spender says the government should have been putting more pressure on gas companies from the “beginning of their term”, as discussions continue on whether to implement price controls on the industry.

“Because Australian businesses, Australian households are really, really hurting and the gas companies, they’re not making … extra money because they made good investments,” Ms Spender told Sky News Australia.

“They’re making money because there is a war in the Ukraine.” “

I suppose it’s an improvement that she now realizes that Australian businesses and households need gas, despite it being forbidden by Gaia. I love though that she thinks price controls are necessary. Maybe that’s a feature not a bug since every time anyone in government puts price controls on something suddenly it becomes impossible to obtain. But she clearly empathizes with the peasants. Empathically even. Entertaining also that she’s discovered Ukraine exists. I wonder whether she could find it on a map?

I mentioned this a couple of days ago. Sack Dan Andrews is a front for the vote whisperer Glen Drury. He bragged about this whilst talking to Heston Russell and Chris Burson of Angry Victorians Party. He also mentioned he controlled the preferences for a number of minor parties.

Interview all over the Internet but places to see it include Facebook page of Turning Point Australia or web page of Reignite Democracy Australia (RDA).

There was discussion about who should get medals for opposing vaccines etc.

Monica Smit of RDA definitely one who stood up.
Plus there have been cops such as Steve Kelly from NSW, Krystle Mitchell VIC and Ben Falconer WA and many more.
Lawyers who fought mandates cases such as Tony Nicolic from Sydney and ex judge Stuart Lindsay from Adelaide.
Many Dr’s such as Mark Hobart, Flying Duk, Andrew McIntyre, Robert Brennan and Phillip Altman to name just a few.
Senators Antic, Rennick and Roberts. Ex MP’s Craig Kelly and George Christensen.
Topher Field of VIC who did the doco Battleground Melbourne
Whoever the guy is who runs the web page Totality of Evidence out of SA
In the media Alan Jones and Rowan Dean and more recently Ben Fordham
Graham Hood ex Qantas pilot and John Larter ex NSW paramedic who now host the podcast Club Grubbery

Can’t include them all but the above is a good start.

Then there is the list of those who should be shamed !

No ‘political mandate’ or ‘economic justification’ for IR bill: Credlin – 2 Mins 52 Secs

Sky News host Peta Credlin says the trouble with the government’s industrial relations bill is there is no “political mandate” or “economic justification” for it.

“Labor said nothing about this industry-wide bargaining push prior to the election. In fact, it denied it had such plans,” Ms Credlin said.

“But now, it’s ‘absolutely essential’ Labor says, to ‘get wages moving’.

“And sure, Labor did promise to increase real wages, just like it promised to cut power bills by $275 – but never specified how it would be done.”

Ms Credlin said this government was always going to have a “heavy union-led agenda”.

The lodged group voting tickets for the Victorian upper house are at https://www.vec.vic.gov.au/candidates-and-parties/become-a-state-election-candidate/groups-and-voting-tickets .

Use them to see how your vote will travel if you vote above the line. Be suspicious of any party that puts undesirables too high up the order. Apart from the ALP, Greens and (open) socialists, watch for the Animal Welfare party (Meddick), Reason (Patten), Transport Masters (Barton).

I’m prefering the prospect of Family First, LDP, One Nation, Palmer (okay, hit and miss, but not Gliberal), and perhaps others I cannot recall off the top of my head.

I guess parties from previous elections may have more credibility than those created for this election – some of the newbie parties may be genuine or may be a front. Researching the details is more work than in inclined to do today.

There is no room for such police in a country that supposedly lives by the rule of law.

I’ve always maintained that if someone is caught out trying to stitch up another for a crime they didn’t commit, the perjurer should be in line for the maximum allowed under that same charge. Ie. try to frame someone for murder, your perjury gets you a life sentence.

The standard slap on the wrist for perjury is insufficient when you tried to cost someone a whole lot more.

There needs to be a good summary somewhere online so people can share in order that the cops behaviour can be widely known.

For a start did Canberra Times cover the story and have they reported on not guilty finding.

Forgot to mention. An important element of any complaint is the fact they tried to use the arrest to impose a bail condition to prevent you taking part in a lawful protest. That condition led to you spending 6 nights in jail.

It is a fairly strong and serious complaint against police you have and hard for them to write it off. Makes the officers sweat and the AFP waste resources and having to prepare an answer to such a complaint.

it is something where the AFP Commissioner should be grilled on TV about it but we know that is not going to happen.

Joh, the Victorian upper house is the old senate system with group voting tickets lodged by each party for each upper house district from which five representatives are elected. It often results in two Lib, two ALP and one random (often the most popular independent).

So, vote a single 1 above the line and possibly cede control to Glenn Drury or number every name below the line.

All seats are up for election, unlike the senate.

Many thanks, NKP at 1.37pm, for the list of candidates in this Saturday’s Victorian state election.

The candidate I would urge Cats to support is John Hutchison for the Companions and Pets Party — the opposite of the animal “rights” loons.

The Companions and Pets Party supports farming with animals, animal husbandry and the horse-racing industry with the hundreds of thousands of jobs it creates — a lone voice of reason among the fruit loops campaigning for animal “rights”, who think animals should be allowed to roam free in the bush without human interaction.

Joh, happy to meet up with you in a coffee shop anytime in Canberra or in Sydney.

But not in downmarket Queanbeyan, where I actually live. That would be a bridge too far. Driving that extra few kms through the light industrial area, surrounded by light trucks and semis – oh, my!

There are six (at least) coffee outlets within a kilometer of where I am, and the competition is fierce. What’s more, many of them open at 7 am or earlier, to cater for the tradies.

The coffee is very good indeed. As good as I have tasted in the fanciest joints in Sydney or Melbourne. And, it is considerably cheaper.

A Sydney primary school is teaching a “fake history play” that Captain Cook landed in Australia in 1788 with the First Fleet as a “coloniser” – when in fact the explorer was long dead by then.

Parents have complained to One Nation MP Mark Latham about the “woke” rewriting of history, which is being taught to Year 2 children at Mount Kuring-Gai Public School, in Sydney’s north.

The children have been given an adapted script of the “Somebody’s Land” book written by former footballer Adam Goodes and Ellie Lang, which says it is set in 1788 and “reflects the colonisation of Australia”.

Stage directions state: “The colonisers and Captain Cook are standing still in the boat with their hands on their hips looking down on the Indigenous Peoples.”

A character playing Captain Cook states: “I see no owners of the land. I think I’ll take it for myself”.

Captain James Cook conducted a voyage of discovery of Australia in 1770 and died in 1779. He was not involved in the 1788 settlement of Australia by Casptain Arthur Phillip, New South Wales’ first governor.

The play also requires all children to recite that they “live, learn and play on this stolen and unceded land”.

Mr Latham has questioned NSW Education Minister Sarah Mitchell about the “rewriting” of history and slammed the primary school teacher’s “appalling” lack of knowledge about Australia’s history.

“This attempt to demonise Captain Cook is plain wrong and pathetic,” he said.

“It’s historically wrong and inaccurate to fit him up as being part of the 1788 settlement of the country.

“The play contains statements about stolen land. It’s appalling that this historical inaccuracy is pushed on these kids – it’s a fake history play.”

“If you don’t know our history what are you doing in a school teaching any of it?” he said.

“This is not some obscure thing about settlement, it’s one of the most basic elements of Australian history and the Minister should withdraw it and find out where it’s come from.”

Ms Mitchell has been contacted for comment.

Eugowra plasterer Anthony Robinson was one of more than a hundred locals who were plucked from the roofs of their homes when disaster struck last Monday.

When the Prime Minister and NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet visited on Tuesday, he was quick to ask where Australia’s leader had been before then.

“Not to get off on the wrong foot … but all through the election one of your slogans was (you weren’t) here to hold a hose,” he said, catching the Prime Minister out the front of the town post office which has just reopened for business.

“We’re have you been sir? … Where have you been the last week? … People need you here sir.”

The Prime Minister responded that he had been overseas representing Australia at international summits.

I’ve always maintained that if someone is caught out trying to stitch up another for a crime they didn’t commit, the perjurer should be in line for the maximum allowed under that same charge. Ie. try to frame someone for murder, your perjury gets you a life sentence.

Someone Else got there first. It was The Law. Deuteronomy 19:16-21

Hammurabi asks what is he, chopped liver.
http://www.wright.edu/~christopher.oldstone-moore/Hamm.htm#:~:text=If%20a%20man%20bears%20false,shall%20be%20put%20to%20death.

3. If a man bears false witness in a case, or does not establish the testimony that he has given, if that case is case involving life, that man shall be put to death.

Took divorce pretty seriously as well..
129. If the wife of a man is caught lying with another man, they shall bind them and throw them into the water. If the husband of the woman wishes to spare his wife, then the king shall spare his servant.
130. If a man has ravished another’s betrothed wife, who is a virgin, while still living in her father’s house, and has been caught in the act, that man shall be put to death; the woman shall go free.
131. If a man has accused his wife but she has not been caught lying with another man, she shall take an oath in the name of god and return to her house.
138. If a man wishes to divorce his wife who has not borne him children, he shall give her money to the amount of her marriage price and he shall make good to her the dowry which she brought from her father’s house and then he may divorce her.
141. If the wife of a man who is living in her husband’s house, has persisted in going out, has acted the fool, has waster her house, has belittled her husband, he shall prosecute her. If her husband has said, “I divorce her,” she shall go her way; he shall give her nothing as her price of divorce. If her husband has said “I will not divorce her” he may take another woman to wife; the wife shall live as a slave in her husband’s house.
142. If a woman has hated her husband and has said, “You shall not possess me,: her past shall be inquired into, as to what she lacks. If she has been discreet, and has no vice, and her husband has gone out, and has greatly belittled her; that woman has not blame, she shall take her marriage portion and go off to her father’s house.
143. If she has not been discreet, has gone out, ruined her house, belittled her husband, she shall be drowned.

And pre-historic AHPRA was pretty strict as well.
218. If a physician operates on a man for a sever wound with a bronze lancet and causes the man’s death, or destroys the man’s eye, they shall cut off his hand.

OK, so it is pretty much the current Senate system. What is happening is perfectly legal.

Thanks.

Can someone point out to the ABC that many of the population were actually born here, and are therefore indigenous. It is quite unnecessary to incessantly recite ‘welcome to country’. We are here, and intend to stay here. Similarly with the current obsession with ‘Aboriginal’ music. Composed by, played by, sung by. OK, some of it may have merit, but much is tedious, unlistenable, and cannot be regarded as fit for Classic FM. How much more is going to be rammed down our throats by the ‘elites’? So, Daniel Andrew, Victorian Labor and the left in general think that the state of Victoria is a hotbed of National Socialism and there are Nazis everywhere. Well, of course they don’t believe that. However it’s a useful smear tactic, aimed firstly at distracting the electorate, and secondly it’s designed to intimidate and silence opposition. Nobody wants to be called a racist or a Nazi. Now, moving forward watch federal Labor use the same tactic to smear and silence conservatives, right-wingers and libertarians. Everyone who isn’t progressive, and who isn’t a leftist is now “far-right”, “racist”, “Nazi”.

What’s both amusing and troubling is that Danny boy, with a straight face, says how much he’s worried about the “divisive Americanisation” of Australian politics and yet in the next breath he starts shouting about the Liberals preferencing Nazis and racists.

Whilst not a fan of Matthew Guy, to his credit yesterday afternoon, when asked about Andrews’ smear, did finally show some spine and say that Andrews should look in the mirror.

I hope Danny the hunchback is defeated on Saturday. I don’t have much hope but you never know.

An interesting point. Presumably the decision about bail conditions was made by a more senior officer who was not part of the arresting party. Wonder if they viewed the “evidence” after the arresting party returned to station. Or did the evidence disappear from a secure location later on. At what point did the police realise the crucial evidence had gone missing.

All I have read about this case is pretty much from this blog. However it seems there are multiple angles of complaint.

For example details of the calls made by the officers on the ground back to base. Who were they to and what about ? Was the decision to arrest made by somebody not present and who did not have full details. This then led to the fit up.

Can a FOI reveal the contents of the calls or have they been wiped after a certain period.

Make me sweat as an example to the others.

The problem for Andrews & the Victorian ALP:
The genpop aren’t swallowing the “Nazis” bullshit. The public know this is bullshit.
Nobody in Victoria has seen a Nazi outside a history book. There’s no mobs of skinheads marching in the streets, chanting “Sieg Heil”, waving looks-like-swastika banners & most important, no mobs of remotely white skinned people threatening or instilling fear into anybody.

The Victorian public do however, know which ethnic group to be afraid of in the streets, which one is likely to mug, slash, burgle, carjack, etc.
All those bollards & extra security installed into Victorian homes are not to protect suburbanites from Nazis.
The Victorian public know which ethnic group they’re reading about in countless reports of home invasions with threats of violence to produce car keys.

Dan Andrews gets all blazing eyed & angry over Nazis nobody has ever seen.

flyingduk at 1:15 -onya. Sounds like the Keystone Kops were humiliated, not that it makes much difference.

I am sure they will be able to go out and harass some more citizens – pensioners, parents, disabled people – to feel better about themselves.

Gotta keep those numbers up!

I’m amused that my local pharmacy have moved their RATs to right next to the checkout. A large pile of them. They don’t seem to be selling.

As for me my personal quest is to avoid them. So far my tally of RATs stands at 0.0.
I’m quite proud of that number. 😀

Duk

Good for you. If you have time, would you mind explaining how these traffic charges were laid against you and why? It’s the first time I read this happened to you.

On my family wanting to see the dying father/grandad front.

Afetr successfully defeating the gorgon of “your vaccinations arent on the government record, despite you having the green ticks” they were again delayed because.
– You havent provided proof your kids have had their normal childhood/flu immunizations, hydra.

Think thats been resolved as no communication after I sent copies of all the families (including kids) vaccinations- again- straight through to the harpy in charges desk with an invite to phone if there were any other delays as there would be a significant escalation over her head if they didnt get in.

Is like a greek farce – all this to see a dying man very unlikely to see the week out.
They just pinched 50% of the time the poor bastard has left to see his loved ones because they are a bunch of flogs.

Veteran watching drag show goes into ‘combat mode’ to save club goers
By Dave Philipps
November 22, 2022 — 3.53pm

Colorado Springs: Richard Fierro said he was at a table in Club Q with his wife, daughter and friends on Saturday, watching a drag show, when the sudden flash of gunfire ripped across the nightclub.

His instincts from four combat deployments as a US Army officer in Iraq and Afghanistan instantly kicked in. Fight back, he told himself. He moved through the chaos of the shooting this weekend, tackling the gunman and beating him bloody with his own gun.

In an interview at his house, where his wife and daughter were still recovering from injuries, Fierro, 45, who left the Army in 2013 as a major, according to military records, described charging through the chaos at the club, tackling the gunman and beating him bloody with the gunman’s own gun.

“I don’t know exactly what I did, I just went into combat mode,” Fierro said, shaking his head. “I just know I have to kill this guy before he kills us.”

Authorities are holding Anderson Lee Aldrich, 22, on charges of killing five people, and say 18 more people were injured in a rampage at the club that lasted only a few minutes. The death toll could have been much higher, officials said, if patrons of the bar had not stopped the gunman.

Fierro’s description of what happened in those moments in the club closely matches accounts given by police and city officials and by the club’s owners, who have reviewed security footage from the massacre. When they were shown a picture of Fierro, one club owner, Nic Grzecka, said he looked like the man who took down the gunman.

“I don’t even know his name,” Grzecka said. “I would really like to meet him.”

When the shooting started, Fierro said, he hit the floor, pulling a friend down with him. As bullets sprayed, he saw the gunman move through the bar towards a door leading to a patio where dozens of bar patrons had fled. Fierro, who served in the Army for 15 years, said he raced across the room, grabbed the gunman by a handle on the back of his body armour, pulled him to the floor and jumped on top of him.

“Was he shooting at the time? Was he about to shoot? I don’t know,” Fierro said. “I just knew I had to take him down.”

The gunman, who Fierro estimated weighed more than 130 kilos, sprawled onto the floor, his military-style rifle landing just out of reach. Fierro started to go for the rifle, but then saw that the gunman had a pistol as well.

“I grabbed the gun out of his hand and just started hitting him in the head, over and over,” Fierro said.

As the fight continued, he said, he yelled for other club patrons to help him. A man grabbed the rifle and moved it away to safety. A drag dancer stomped on the gunman with her high heels. The whole time, Fierro said, he kept pummelling the shooter’s head while the two men screamed obscenities at each other.

When police arrived a few minutes later, the gunman was no longer struggling, Fierro said, and he feared that he had killed him. The suspect in the shooting was taken into custody and remained hospitalised on Tuesday (AEDT).

Stick to telling us how influential you are in Gulf Island politics.

Why just this morning I was discussing (over turkish coffee, natch) with the Sultan of Qatar & the Sheikh of Abu Dhabi, how the Gulf Islands should be more open & democratic.
I’m so influential they’re considering legalising sodomy & halting flying tests for gays.

“In fact the reason I am a Liberal is I believe in the right of every single individual to live life according to their conscience, their values, without influence from the government.
She’s a wrecker.
If she was a real Liberal, 4 days out from an Election, she woulda gone to ground and made no comment.
Instead, she’s helping to create an impression of a divided Party.

Tell us how many Victorians have changed their vote because they live in fear of African gangs. At least, lets say more than 89 voters.

Right after you back up this “FNQ” you’re always banging on about. Karen.

What is botulism? Cholera? Hepatitis caused cirrhosis?

Oh! I know this one!

Feeling sad causes them.

Look. We are made up from single cells. If single cell lifeforms were dangerous we would be dead as soon as we were conceived.

Because we know the mainstream media flogs won’t touch the duk’s brilliant win against tyranny today, I wonder if it would be worthwhile approaching Rowan Dean to see if he would be interested in duk’s story?

I swear, Perth has a weather forcefield around it.

Big storms only 40-50kms North heading straight toward Perth always dissipate or change direction before hitting… it’s sweaty.

(and no, I’m not suggesting HAARP as nobody, particularly NOAA gives a fuck about Perth)

Now tell us, you polling genius. How do you know Victorians are quaking in their boots because of Sudanese gangs, you blowhard beer pourer.
