It still happens to this day. The Dept of Child Protection take a lot of kids out of dangerous homes to this day.

BoN, I often see articles like that about the ski season, contradicting each other. We have had a great run of good ski seasons here, we’re well overdue for a bad one, when it happens the climate changers will be full on. There’s heaps of climate fanatics in ski areas, I’ve often spoken to them and they rave about climate change and how we’re all doomed. I then start moving the conversation to how good the skiing has been the last few years and then they start agreeing and talk about the great snow. Then I say well where’s the climate change? You just said that we’ve been having great seasons? They just say “It’s coming”.

I have even shown them pics of some of the really bad seasons long ago and say how that was 40 years ago and it’s better now, how can you be sure that climate change is real? The shutters fall and they just change the subject.

Why cheating comes naturally to Indians
https://www.dailyo.in/variety/scams-nirav-modi-rotomac-fodder-scam-pnb-22537
This is why I do not trust Indians and refuse to do business with them. I’ve been ripped off a couple of times by them and have never forgotten it.
When I fill up at a servo, I now check behind the counter – if they’re Sub continentals, I go to the next one.
So why the fork are we importing the dregs of the world who have a culture that is utterly incompatible to ours? The only reason I can think of is their cultures are compatible with our illustrious leaders and to force ours to change for the worse.

Ain’t multiculturalism just grand:

A man who allegedly captured an ibis in a Sydney park and hung it up to dry in his shower before attempting to cook it has been released from custody.

Tom Quach allegedly stuffed the animal in his backpack and rode a stolen bike to his unit in Sydney’s eastern suburbs before decapitating the bird and hanging it up on Tuesday.

The 60-year-old was confused about whether the birds, known affectionately as bin chickens, could be eaten in NSW, his lawyer said…….

I’ve just finished doing a first run of this week’s Speccie, which arrived this morning. It is chock full of tributes to Jeremy Clark, indicating just how many people, like me, turned immediately to Jeremy’s column as soon as it arrived in the mail. Damn whatever else was going on in the world, and who thought what about it, what was more important was seeing what Jeremy was making of it all in his neck of the woods in prose that took you straight there, into his life and most times in recent years, bringing me to the edge of tears glimpsed through joy. It is usually in life the other way around. How Jeremy did it is a mystery but we all know that is what he did. He got to you mixing the mundane with the sublime and you loved him for it.

I have a soft spot for Indians. I worked for one many years ago – he expected a lot, but was supportive of hard working and conscientious staff. Husband also had dealings, as a property owner, with a high ranking Council engineer – & found the same – hard working and respectful of others who are honest and hard working. More recently, we had Indian tenants in one of our properties – my God the cooking odours were hard to remove – but they were nice people.

Bud Light To Sponsor Pride Parades Despite Ongoing Boycott (25 May)

I have seen on the intertubes that they have moved from a $20 rebate on a $20 case (which had to be applied for) to a $20 discount secured by a QR code at the point of sales.

People are characterising this as them giving it away but that is not right. Of the $20 retail price the brewery would have sold it for something like $10 with the other $10 being warehousing, distribution, etc.

For every $10 of the brewers sales they are paying $20. But it is apparently still cheaper than picking it up from everywhere and pouring it down the drain. (Well, there may be a hope that ‘giving it away’ might generate some goodwill – except everyone knows why they are in this particular pickle – contempt for their customers.)

Did Mark Textor go to the US and cough in an enclosed boardroom or something, infecting all those nearby with the idea that you can shit on your base with impunity while you sniff the arses of the mutts who hate you?

Case against Bruce Lehrmann ‘very weak’: AFP Commander Michael Chew at Sofronoff inquiry
By Remy Varga
NSW Reporter
@RemyVarga
3:43PM May 26, 2023

AFP Commander Michael Chew says his personal view was the case against Bruce Lehrmann was “very weak” and he believed there may have been insufficient evidence but clarified he believed the case met the evidentiary threshold to proceed.

Mr Chew told the twelfth day of the Sofronoff inquiry he did not experience any direct or indirect interference from within the police force or externally, such as politically.

Mr Chew said he accepted he made comments to Detective Superintendent Scott Moller about “political interference” but said that was in reference to the intense media scrutiny and the fact the alleged rape took place at Parliament House.
Read Next

“I had no direct or indirect interference from any external or internal sources,” he said.

Earlier, Mr Chew said he sought to shield detectives from intense media scrutiny as they investigated allegations of rape made by Brittany Higgins against her former colleague Mr Lehrmann

Mr Chew said he sought a review of the investigation by senior executives of the AFP to assure them “political interference” or influence had no bearing on the investigation. Mr Chew clarified the “political interference” was federal government ministers commenting on the case in the media as opposed to politicians directing investigators.

“It was quite a unique case,” he said.

“The amount of external commentary because of where the alleged offence occurred created significant media interest and political interest… We had the Prime Minister commenting on it, we had senior government ministers commenting on it.”

As well, Mr Chew said, Ms Higgins had involved herself with the MeToo movement, which was gaining momentum and two government ministers, senators Linda Reynolds and Michaelia Cash, involved in the investigation as witnesses.

“It was that whole environment that created a situation where we needed to be thorough and transparent in the investigation but also have had a good decision making process,” he said.

True, the point however is that India is a low trust society at every level. Small numbers here can assimilate but bring in massive numbers and they will bring their low trust culture with them, once it’s established it will be almost impossible to get rid of.

Don’t get me started. I cannot believe that the public are now being encouraged to “idolise” celebrities such as “Lizzo” who are morbidly obese. It seems only yesterday that “fat” was unhealthy. Yet these days TV commercials are replete with obese individuals being promoted as exemplars.

Sometimes I feel I am going “bonkers”, such is the cognitive dissonance overwhelming our lives.

Vicki, you are right, just saw an antiperspirant ad with a fat chick gyrating in an exercise class front and centre.

Rosie, I have zero doubt about the poor man’s ulcerated foot and his need of medical care. What does switch my bullsh*tometer to the max is when odd “facts” are mixed in with highly emotive stories.

My take on it is that there is a melange of hospital stories mixed together into a heartrending Shame File designed to extract what exactly? Given the times, it will be two things – a “Yes” vote and more $$$$s. In other words, it’s moochaganda.

The Aboriginal Culture and ours are incompatible.
Some of us may deny that fact, but there it is. Any attempts to merge the two cultures will only result in expensive friction and anger/violence/destruction. Individuals may survive and prosper but one of the cultures must disappear into the dustbin of history.

RS, I don’t like the “First Nations” chances particularly with the influx of the 1.5 million subcontinentals in the next few years. I don’t think they will indulge them as we do once they become a huge and decisive voting block.

Small numbers here can assimilate but bring in massive numbers and they will bring their low trust culture with them, once it’s established it will be almost impossible to get rid of.

I am not especially familiar with Indian culture, so I cannot say anything about its benefits and drawbacks. However, I agree that it is not a good idea to import other cultures en masse without a clear understanding of the potential consequences.

There were accidents, some quite horrific on Cracker Night. As kids we were well versed in the dangers involved with both crackers and what to wear around the bonfires. There will always be those who do the wrong thing.
There were also complaints at a later date of take offs from Mascot being cancelled due to smoke pollution.
So began further restriction of what some of us regarded our rights.

The teen who killed a man during unrest in Wadeye has been sentenced to seven years in prison, after his lengthy trial concluded at Darwin Supreme Court on Thursday.

Ezekiel Narndu, 19, was found guilty of manslaughter after throwing a steel bar that pierced through the skull of a 33-year-old man referred to as Mr Tcherna in the remote West Daly community on April 16 last year.

As a contractor for thirty years I got ripped off A LOT. Especially when I was younger . Mostly it was over doing extra work for no extra money. I ended up in the Small Claims Tribunal 4 times. Each time I was “sued” because I basically walked off the job when confronted with extras for no extra money .
However the “best” ripoff was by an Indian fellow . I had all the materials on site when he declared he wanted the whole area raised by 200 mm and he would pay $500 extra and no more.
The $500 barely covered materials .
If I stopped work I would lose money, if I continued I would lose money

Top cop’s astonishing diary note about the Brittany Higgins’ case – where he writes that a detective thought some of her claims were ‘made up’ – surfaces at inquiry

AFP officer took notes after meeting with subordinate
Note offers insight into what detectives were thinking
Document was revealed at a Board of Inquiry hearing

By Charlotte Karp In Canberra For Daily Mail Australia

Published: 16:23 AEST, 26 May 2023 | Updated: 16:23 AEST, 26 May 2023

A federal police commander wrote a diary note about a meeting with one of his subordinates about Brittany Higgins’ rape allegations, where he recorded being told: ‘Brittany maintains sexual assault but everything else, doctor… etc was made up’.

The document came to light during a hearing of a Board of Inquiry which is investigating the police and the prosecution’s handling of the case against Bruce Lehrmann, after Ms Higgins accused him of sexual assault.

Australian Federal Police Commander Michael Chew was questioned by Erin Longbottom, the counsel assisting the inquiry, on Friday afternoon.

The inquiry was shown a file note Commander Chew wrote on May 26, 2021, following a meeting with Superintendent Scott Moller about the investigation into Mr Lehrmann.

The diary entry featured handwritten scribblings under Superintendent Moller’s name – apparently his opinion about part of Ms Higgins’ allegations. It provided an insight into what some officers thought about the investigation into Mr Lehrmann.

A Federal police commander wrote a diary note about a meeting with one of his subordinates about Brittany Higgins’ rape allegations, where he recorded being told: ‘Brittany maintains sexual assault but everything else, doctor… etc was made up’.

Ms Longbottom read a portion of the entry to the inquiry: ‘The note says, “Ms Higgins maintains allegations of sexual assault”, but then goes on to characterise things to go against her credit.’

She did not read the rest of the note aloud, but the entry was shown to the inquiry. It read: ‘Brittany maintains sexual assault but everything else, doctor… etc, was made up’.

Commander Chew was then asked why ‘so what’ was written in large letters in the middle of the page.

He could only recall that it was in relation to KPIs – corporate jargon for key performance indicators – and had no relation to Supt Moller’s opinions.

Rita Panahi:

The fix is in.

The backers of the so-called “Indigenous Voice” are not content with the top end of town – including corporates, sporting organisations, celebrities, academia and the bulk of the media pushing the “yes” vote.

They want to fortify the referendum by using taxpayer money to push their agenda. If you’ve passed a TV or radio in recent days chances are you’ve seen or heard commercials that are meant to be impartial and purely information based, but are nothing of the sort.

Minister for Indigenous Australians Linda Burney promised “neutral civics information”, but what we are seeing in TV and radio commercials looks like it’s been written by a pro-Voice campaigner.

Even the normally squeaky clean Australian Electoral Commission stands accused of underhanded bastardry in pushing the race-based referendum under the guise of lifting Indigenous participation in the electoral process.

Right now, the AEC is pushing ads that are meant to lift Indigenous representation on the electoral roll, however critics say the ads are a pro-yes vote in disguise.

“Australians are calling into question the independence of the AEC,” Nationals senator Matt Canavan said. “The AEC has to be beyond reproach … they have made a massive error here and they should pull this ad immediately.”

The AEC’s use of the slogan “Our Vote, Our Future” has also come under fire for being too close to the messaging pushed by the “yes” campaign. Support for the race based referendum is dropping, according to a number of recent polls, and it’s clear that many pro-Voice advocates are becoming increasingly nervous.

Apologies if posted but she nails it. Again.

More Stupid Phucking Liberals noos:

LIBERAL state president Greg Mirabella has been subjected to a withering online attack by a senior member of the party’s powerful administrative committee.

Senior Liberals on Thursday lashed the scathing tirade by veteran Ian Quick, calling for him to be suspended for breaching party rules.

In a post published to his private Facebook page – that was shared widely by Liberals – Mr Quick wrote a top 10 hit list critiquing Mr Mirabella’s work since taking over the presidency in August.

The attack, in which he called for Mr Mirabella to resign, came just days after Mr Mirabella urged 400 members at the party’s State Council conference to stop airing the party’s internal feuds in the media.

It was posted hours before Mr Mirabella was set to chair a meeting of the admin committee.

“He is a well known trouble maker, but this is unprecedented,” one senior Liberal said.

“The admin committee should be seriously considering suspending him.”

Work to oust Mr Mirabella from the top job by a group of the party’s conservative members escalated last month following the party’s shock loss in the Aston by-election.

Mr Mirabella later told members the party was being crippled by a major brand problem that had made it unelectable.

“In the last 12 months the people of Victoria have made it perfectly clear that we are not electable,” he said.

“I think the major problem remains: us. Brand Liberal.”

In his 700-word missive Mr Quick accused Mr Mirabella of failing to assist the party’s state election campaign, and negatively interfering in the failed federal Aston by-election.

He also accused him of failing to follow party procedures, and criticised his refusal to conduct a review into the November election.

“Greg was the President for the final three months of the state campaign, but did not seem to positively contribute to the campaign,” he said.

“Issues brought up were not addressed, including the postal vote mistakes that cost us at least 3 seats.

“He also cancelled regular admin meetings during the campaign, and even told the media that admin had no place in the campaign.

“There was no State election review. Greg refused to have one, saying the problems were well known. I disagree, there were a number of different issues in the 2022 State Election and specific things that need to be investigated.

“Greg then wrote his own review of the State Election, not show (sic) to or approved by admin, and sent it to the Federal Exec.

“Greg took no responsibility for anything at the State Election, saying he ‘was a bystander’!

“This turns out not to be the case, as the party President he could have directed the State Director to do/fix things, and if that didn’t work called an Admin meeting to pass motions.”

Mr Quick accused Mr Mirabella of being overly friendly with the media, failing to intervene in staffing issues, and bypassing proper process.

“Greg keeps saying he is a ‘reforming President’,” Mr Quick said.

“Yet in nine months he hasn’t changed anything, or suggested any changes! He appears to still be just complaining – including in the media – of all our problems and saying that we are unelectable.

“But no solutions or way forward has been suggested as far as I am aware.

“Unlike a previous president, Greg isn’t using admin as a rubber stamp, but it is worse as he is just bypassing it and assuming he has the authority to do whatever he likes.

“I disagree; the President is the Chair of Admin, not a sole autocrat.”

Addressing the party’s State Council conference on Saturday Mr Mirabella said warring factions within the party had to stop airing their grievances publicly.

“There is a cancer in the Liberal Party, it has been there for a long time,” he said. (not you Mr Mirabella?)

“It is the propensity with which Liberals take their disputes, their grievances, their dislikes, to the media.”

Mr Mirabella said members generated tens of thousands of dollars worth of free advertising for the ALP through trashing the Liberal Party brand.

“This is a message that all members and all members of parliament must hear and must begin to act on. Now,” he said.

Another day ending in y. Liberals fighting each other. FMD

Maybe the cause of a teary eyed Tan is that the program he was hosting is a bust and if he didn’t do a sob story, he would’ve been fired.

With a move to Thursday night, an unpopular choice of host, and the ratings hitting rock bottom, Aunty looks for…feedback…

After a diabolically low 233,000 viewers nationally (165,000 5CM/68,000 Regional) for Thursday’s edition of Q+A, the ABC has moved swiftly to try to understand why the audience is no longer tuning in.

TV Blackbox has learned on Friday all members of the online feedback group “YourSpace” received an invitation asking them some very specific questions about Q+A including “What do you think of the host?” and “Is the show getting better or worse?”.

TV Blackbox understands the YourSpace surveys ask for feedback on a broad range of shows and topics including viewing habits, though until now the panel have never asked for in-depth feedback on a specific show as they have on Q+A. This is the first time they’ve asked direct questions specifically about a show and its host, and suggests the ABC is re-evaluating the future of the program that once helped set the weekly political agenda.

In 2019 Erin Vincent was appointed the new executive producer of the show after creator and founding EP Peter McEvoy stepped down. Vincent has a solid resume, working as Executive Producer on Insights and ABC Breakfast in the past, however the program has struggled since that time.

The program’s lowest ratings previously were 168,000 5CM from March this year after an episode hosted by Virginia Trioli. The week before was its previous lowest, with 175,000 5CM for an episode chaired by now permanent host Stan Grant.

The live panel show (which encourages live social media commentary) has seen its ratings crash after the move in 2021 from its flagship Monday 9:35pm spot to Thursday 8:30pm, and the revolving host role after original host Tony Jones was replaced by Hamish Macdonald who served from January 2020 and quit in July 2021 due to trolling from social media. The revolving trio of hosts was implemented as a result.

Last month Grant was appointed sole host after sharing the role with Trioli and David Speers for most of 2021 and 2022, and was pilloried on the very social media it courts for the decision.

Of the three hosts trialled the episodes with Grant as host were consistently the lowest rating of the three, however all would be considered low in comparison to episodes previously aired in the Monday night timeslot.

A very angry ABC has been in contact this morning to say:

Q+A’s average national audience is more than 500,000 viewers per program. Recently Q+A started an exciting new chapter, including moving to a single host with Stan Grant. As we said at the time, the team is continuing to explore ways to further develop Q+A, including how to get audiences even more involved.

TV Blackbox’s report of the audience survey is completely wrong. The ABC regularly asks questions about specific programs. These surveys cover a wide range of topics and are designed to help the teams to understand their audience perspectives and refine accordingly. Listening closely to the audience and public at large is at the heart of what the program does.

Note from Rob McKnight: Using a national average and still only getting to 500,000 is desperate spin from the ABC and an attempt to change the narrative that QandA is failing – which it is.

Yes, the ABC does ask for feedback on its programs but our understanding is not generally through the method as described in Steve’s story.

As for the report being ‘completely wrong’ – are the numbers wrong? Is the ABC concerned about the numbers? Is the future of QandA under doubt?

These are the questions we put to the ABC that remain unanswered (except for a snippy response claiming our report was ‘wrong’):

Are the ABC concerned about the shrinking ratings for ABC, especially given Thursday night’s was the lowest ever?

Will the ABC be renewing Q+A for 2023?

Are the ABC happy with the performance of Q+A with Stan Grant as host?

Will the ABC be replacing Stan as host of Q+A?

That was last year, but it appears to show is terminal.

Another good one we have listened to tonight, which unfortunately we only have on CD.

I dimly recall the story of a woman who tried hard to like classical music. She had been taught at school to visualise what the composer was trying to get across, and it just meant nothing to her. Then one day she heard the Elgar ‘cello concerto, possibly the DuPres version, and said how much it affected her: “It was such a lovely sound, it made my tummy turn over.”

Wait, what! Is Hamish indigenous, or is it the quality of the comperes that attracts the on-line trolling? Maybe it wasn’t really “wacist” attacks on sTan, just attacks on an inferior compere?

Leah Torres got her medical licence back seven months later but thanks to Dobbs it looks like she’ll need to find new employment.

Rosie has linked a Guardian article, one with a most indignant tone to the headline;

She was one of Alabama’s last abortion doctors.
Then they came for everything she had.

Wonder when we’ll see the following Guardian headlines:

She was one of Victoria’s last logging contractors. Then they came for everything she had.

She was one of Western Australia’s last Merino producers. Then they came for everything she had.

She’d spent a lifetime building a Northern Territory beef cattle export business, employing dozens of Territorians. Then they came for everything she had.

She was one of Australia’s last Olympic Shooting Medal contenders. Then they came for everything she had.

He was one of the Army’s last special forces NCOs. Then they came for everything he had.

She was one of Australia’s last independent long haul truckies. Then they came for everything she had.

She was one of Victoria’s last suppliers of rental houses to the poor. Then they came for everything she had.

She was one of the East Coast’s last fishing boat owners. Then they came for everything she had.

She was one of NSW’s last smashed avo cafes who took cash. Then they came for everything she had.

There you go Guardian j’ismists, stop the three monkeys act & write those stories.

Hahaha! The powers that be decided that the next Climapaloosa had to be held in someplace muslim. That has turned out to be Abu Dhabi.

So Abu Dhabi got to choose the boss of the Climapaloosa. And so they chose the head of, get this, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. Is that awesome or what?

Didn’t go down well for some obscure reason.

US, EU Politicians Demand Withdrawal Of COP28 Chief (26 May)

Over 100 members of the US Congress and European Parliament signed a letter calling for Sultan Ahmed al-Jaber to be removed as the head of the upcoming COP28 climate conference, Reuters reported on 24 May.

COP28 will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in December and will center around efforts to mobilize $100 billion of public and private climate finance for developing economies.

Jaber, who heads the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and serves as the UAE’s climate envoy, was designated in January to lead the talks.

In the public letter, lawmakers, including US Democratic senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, voiced “profound concern” that oil companies would be able to “exert undue influence” on the climate negotiations.

Aching sides! Maybe, green peoples, unlike you the Arabs don’t think the world is burning up. And no they aren’t your friends even if you think they are. On the other hand any bunch who has Bernie Sanders and Fauxahontas supporting it is clearly on the right side of history. /s

I bought the double album on vinyl from a second hand joint in Pitt St Sydney. Just the album cover art would be enough. Superb. But the music was even superber.

I gave away my turntable and records to a skint flatmate when I graduated and started to be paid actual money. Then rebought the double album on CD, which I still have. Easier these days to bring it up on YouTube though, although the sound quality isn’t as good.

Salvatore, Understaffed & Overworked Martyr to Govt Covid Stupidity

Watched on iview a few minutes of a recent Q&A episode. Oh My God.

It started with Stan Grant jabbering in tongues from amongst the studio audience – for a minute I thought I’d mistakenly logged in to some holy-roller website.
Then Stan switched to the language of the oppressive colonisers to announce that this show was being broadcast to us from the land of Witchetty’s tribe. Mmmm… not yet onto any actual current affairs content.

Fast forward to the first question: To some skinhead on the panel who wrote a book called “Trainspotting” (there’s a book about potting trains? Stan described it as a very “bleak” book.)
Despite being an actual citizen of the vile colonizing British, the author was for some reason shown a fair bit of respect.

The first half of the question was taken up with the questioner listing the lands he lived upon & acknowledging that tribe, or something…. no actual current affairs content yet.

Question was something about the Royal family & coronation, or something. Mr. Skinhead Train-Potter expounded on disparaging the monarchy and all pageantry ancillary to it, blah blah blah…. I was sorta zoning out when he said that the robes in which King Chilla had been clad were “ridiculous” (okay, his opinion, he’s free to have it) & that in North Korea you’d be executed for donning such garments.

The audience purred in agreement.

Holy Mackerel, an Australian audience just sided approvingly with North Korea!

Stan Grant: Excuse me, you were all just clapping & nodding in approval of North Korea executing anybody who wears a furry robe, as if that is the standard we should aspire to. Ask yourselves, do we really want to use the benchmark of what is acceptable in North Korea to govern our behaviour?
Total silence.

A few minutes later Nove Peris-Kneebone (fresh from elocution lessons by the sound of her) rattled on disparaging the monarchy, her killer line, the zinger that proves the monarchy is bad, was; Jerry Seinfeld (an American comedian) once cracked a joke that was at the expense of the British Royal Family.

The audience guffawed their approval – this proved the monarchy must go.

At that point I closed the window & watched something on Netflix.
