Sure.
Back when Ukraine was only ever in the Western news when its nazis were burning down gay film theatres, beating up negros at European train stations and giving the ‘Heil Hitler’ at soccer matches, the press was more than happy to tip a bucket on this loathsome midget.

Those who absurdly claim that the Jewish refugees who immigrated to Palestine in the last decades of the nineteenth century were the ” tools ” of European imperialism must answer the following question : for whom were these socialists and idealists working ?
The land they cultivated was not taken away from its rightful owners by force or confiscated by colonial law. It was purchased, primarily from absentee landlords and real estate speculators, at fair or often exorbitant prices.

Moving money around and evading taxes, if that’s what he did, is not the same thing as what Putin has done, which is get on the take and steal an estimated US$200 billion since he’s been president for life. The AEC has today invited members of the public to submit written suggestions about the redistribution of federal electoral divisions
Prior to the Luigi election i got “redistributed” by the AEC into another electorate .. last house in their nw corner (next door didn’t get moved!) .. Reality is I live close to Fairfield (McMahon) and do most of my “business” in Fairfield .. the only time I get to Liverpool (Fowler) is passing thru on my bike riding ..
I realise that lotza folk probably live far from the heart of their electorates but as to why, after 30 years, I’m the only one in a street of 40 houses that was moved .. maybe the fact my property is classified in one suburb but my postal address is in another depending on which “authority” comes calling ….

Thanks for making my point. Relying on an anon Twitter troll only while giving a short shrift to MSM trolls shows bias and cognitive dissonance, especially in saying that because I criticized both, my comment was silly. Both are unreliable.
Of course, it’s possible that water could naturally flow against gravity, but it’s highly unlikely. It’s been about 72 hours since Twitter stories were reported about numerous American casualties. Any back-up?
Sure. We were told the Israelis destroyed a hospital, killing 200 million Gazans. We later found out it was a parking lot, and Hamarse did it to themselves.
It’s never just “possible” in your reports; there’s certitude from anonymous Twitter accounts.
You said certain countries are carefully watching for American weakness to show up. Who are these countries or places? Name them, and leave Iran out for the moment.
CL
One other thing. You claimed Russia has won against Ukraine. Russia has been pushed well back and Putin’s objectives have been far from met. Before this war, Russia was considered a superpower rival and it would be a sleep walk taking over what essentially is a farming country with a population 1/3 the size. How is this any sort of victory for a superpower or should I say ex super power? It’s actually embarrassing.
Yet you want us to see Putin as a defender of Christendom, breaking bread with Hamas and using the intel services to set up “fake” anti Jewish pogroms?
This is why you are better off having principles and “simplistic!” points of view.
Now how does Blackrock own half of Ukraine now or have people fallen for emotional BS?
From The Oz…
Six of Australia’s former prime ministers have signed a joint statement condemning Hamas and calling for protection of Gaza’s civilians.
Former prime ministers John Howard, Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard, Tony Abbott, Malcolm Turnbull and Scott Morrison signed on to the open letter, organised by the Zionist Federation of Australia, while Paul Keating declined.
They rallied behind a two-state solution and quoted the 34th Psalm to “seek peace and pursue it”.
The statement urges Israel to protect the civilian population of Gaza “with all its humanity and skill” as it had “promised it will do”.
The letter says “there is no more tenaciously evil race hatred than anti-Semitism”.
It says “our Australian Jewish community, directly affected by the terrible crimes of Hamas, not only has to endure the loss and suffering of their families in Israel, but now sees these events being used by some to spread ancient hatreds which have inflicted so much suffering on the Jewish people for thousands of years.
“No complaint or concern about international affairs justifies hate speech against any Australian, or any Australian community.
“We believe we speak for the vast majority of Australians, of all faiths and of none, when we say we stand in solidarity with Jewish Australians at this time.
“Likewise, we stand too with the Australian Palestinian community whose families are dying and suffering in this terrible conflict. They too deserve our love and support.
“Our nation’s success depends on us not allowing conflict overseas to turn Australians against each other.”
The former prime ministers, Labor and Liberal, condemned the “cruel and murderous attack on Israeli families” by Hamas on October 7 and called for the unconditional release of the hostages taken by Hamas.
Well, the two state solution is now officially dead, but good on Howard, Rudd, Abbott, Turdbull and Morrison.
As for Keating, he probably consulted his good buddy, Cockroach Carr, but then again, don’t forget this, the Keating family have long liked the company of unsavoury and unseemly, even pedos. Just ask Katherine Keating, oh and didn’t the MSM go quiet on that “association”.
shatterzzz, that is the understatement of the year!
If anyone despises Backrock more than I do, I would like to see who they are. I was on the verge on trying to sue those pricks until I was talked out of it hardcore, by a caring, thoughtful, considerate, well meaning, “ungreedy”, spiritual and perhaps bi-sexual lover of cute owls. But Blackrock owning or having enormous influence in Ukraine? Please.
Living in mighty Qld we may have been too close to see clearly.
When did he go nuts? & in what manner of nuts are you talking?

If you’re going to choose the most incompetent Australian PM, you have to have criteria. For example:
Deceitfulness
Incompetence
Sabotage of the Aussie dream
I haven’t put egotistical bastard in there as that goes with the job.
So I would go:
Rudd: Deceitfulness 10/10; Incompetence 9/10; Sabotage of the Aussie dream 10/10
Turnbull: Deceitfulness 10/10; Incompetence 8/10; Sabotage of the Aussie dream 9/10
Gillard: Deceitfulness 8/10; Incompetence 8/10; Sabotage of the Aussie dream 8/10
Morrison: Deceitfulness 6/10; Incompetence 8/10; Sabotage of the Aussie dream 8/10
Thus rating Turncoat as worse than Gillard. Hmmm.
Please.
It’s not exactly against our experience that strikes at bases produce injuries, JC. Telegram and Twitter have been reporting these attacks for weeks now and providing pics of the bases, but until Kirby tells us it happened it never happened.
Haven’t you heard that the reports many relied on from Twitter (GeoConfirmed) that this was Hamas was deleted, in particular the pics which ‘proved’ it was a misfire Hamas rocket. As for this was only a parking lot claim, then entrance to a hospital isn’t merely a parking lot, especially in the midst of a disaster.
No, I generally always hedge.
Why don’t you answer the response?
I’ve just returned from a long walk in Sydney’s CBD. I needed to get some fresh air. I walked along Castlereagh Street, and I saw some pictures plastered on poles of the kidnapped Israeli men, women and children, and then when I walked past the old DJs men’s store, which is under construction, and the pictures of the kidnapped had been torn down.
It made me very depressed, in fact, I’m very depressed. Why? Because there are people out there who support these barbarians and because there are people out there who make excuses for these barbarians.
I struggle to recognise this country anymore.
He certainly did more harm to the Liberal Party. Gillard never made rusted-on Liberals proud to vote Labor.
There it is. The inevitable.
No, I don’t stand with the “Australian Palestinian community” – whatever that is.
That used to be understood. (I would go so far as to say it was part of the compact with the Australian people that underwrote post-war migration.)
That it needs re-stating by six former prime ministers suggests that’s no longer the case for some.
A lot of this is just Western cope following a group of goat herders sending off the US in 2021 in ignominy. But the thing that really makes me laugh is that the people who ostensibly are pro-Ukraine see the need to diminish Ukraine in order to talk smack about Russia. Apparently, a country roughly 1 and half times the pop. of Australia that has several nuclear power stations, builds jet engines, etc. is ‘essentially a farming community.’
Blackrock doesn’t own half or anything of Ukraine. Its does however own major shareholdings in the 3 biggest defence contractor beneficiaries in the Ukraine conflict, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon.
And Blackrock has enormous influence with Biden’s administration.
So it’s no understatement to point out that BlackRock has strong ties to Washington, D.C., and the firm now has a profound influence on the Biden administration. The question is: is this influence good or bad for Wall Street? Well, the answer to that question depends on which corner of Wall Street you’re standing on.
https://www.nicolletinvest.com/navigator/the-ties-that-bind-blackrock-and-biden
So work it out. Can and does Blackrock benefit from keeping the Ukraine war going? Among others of course.
“No, I don’t stand with the “Australian Palestinian community” – whatever that is.”
Nor do I.
Its the same evil that was there for decades, Cassie. It was implicit in the voteherd-importing policies of progressives here and the UK and the USA. Its the same evil that universities were fostering all along in post-modernism and identity studies; the same evil that the ABC of the Green-Left and CBC and BBC foster with their political bias.
That same evil is flowering, its explicit and open.
And in that flowering it can be more easily identified, exposed and killed.
The Palestinians have rejected five attempts at a “Two State” solution since the late 1930’s – what makes anyone think they will accept such a solution now?
More Tony Moclair sideswipes.
3AW news reporting in a half-hourly news update that six former PMs signed a statement of solidarity with Israel.

I don’t need to bash Russia on the internet to free myself of imaginary guilt for Joe Biden being a stuttering incompetent CF. He’s not my President, I’m not American and I know he cheated to “win”.
You appear to get a lot of gratification with this, don’t you? FMD, you hate America.
And it is the same number that departed when Hiden ignominiously gave the order. Compare that to what the Russian mustered against Ukraine. 2500 American troops kept the Taliban on the back foot. And you’re using this as some of sort of apt comparison in defending Russia. Is this a joke?
Oh Yeah, We’re forgetting Ukraine’s industrial might.
What does comparing Australia have to do with the price of Halal Kebabs? The comparison and the only comparison is the two countries at war. Bringing Australia into this discussion is, should I say “silly”.
The power stations are residual from the Soviet era. It’s main industry in order of importance was farming and mining related. It’s not exactly Silicon valley and Southern Germany.
But of course, Ukraine was considered as powerful and Putin’s Russia before the war.:-)
Ironically, it should be now. 🙂
Step 1 in slowing the current colonisation of the modern West by the Third World.
Make it clear to both new arrivals and current residents that they must move out of their ghettoes (I hope Cassie will pardon my use of this word) and participate in wider society. If they are unwilling to do so, then visas of non-citizens must be revoked, and citizens must be informed that no more of their family will receive visas.
Step 2, remove the opportunity for dual citizenship from new arrivals, and discourage it among those already living here.
Step 3, remove the ability of educational institutions to operate as visa factories. A student visa should be valid only for the normal duration of a specific course, those seeking extensions must apply again. At the completion of the course, students must return to their country of origin, and can apply for a resident visa from there, after a waiting period equal to the actual duration of their course.
I’ll comment on the Quisling problem later.

Let me set you straight. I’ll be polite but very blunt. You have no idea what you are talking about.
The idea of a “collective” is in your head.
I know I’m right about MB being GMB as Gabor pointed it out as well (and Tom). There were several “tells” and he seems to be self-medicating and he has resisted some obvious bait he would otherwise go for. A couple of weeks before “MB” turns up, GMB posts a couple of times on his own largely defunct blog. Hmmm.
I’m 99% sure I’m right about the person pushing the idea MB is legit being a “sleeper” sock puppet (ask rosie).
Bird has been pestering various incarnations of this site for 18+ years now and there has been a lot of attached drama that Sinclair had to deal with from a third-party lunatic who latched onto GMB. Her sister even posted on the forum apologising. Yes, this nonsense actually got serious.
Anyway if I’m wrong (not very likely) MB still should answer questions about his ridiculous “Hamas has a claim to justice” statement.
Wasn’t it the Black Hebrew Israelites who started that fracas back in 2020 in Washington…the one over the MAGA caps?
They all sound like a bunch of @rseholes in need of something better to do with their time.

No, I don’t stand with the “Australian Palestinian community” – whatever that is.
nowadayz it’s a standard media/pollie tactic, the “dual” nationality scam when chasing the sympathy vote for a “specific’ person or racial type bleating ……..
eg: Proud/251, Viet/Oz, Sudanese/Oz, China’Oz … the list is,almost, never-ending when it fitz the agenda except, of course, the various varieties of “white” Oz .. we never seems to get USA/Oz, Pommie/Oz, Scots/Oz ect or that real rarity .. Oz/Oz ……..!
Yes it was, it would be interesting to know what is driving their beef with pro Palestinians.
No, the opposite. Loved the Americans I met, generally, but the Regime of the last few decades is detestable.
On the back foot hey? They were speeding to Kabul as the planes evacuating were still on the ground.
I didn’t compare Ukraine to Australia. I noted it had the population + 50% of our country, several nuclear plants, made jet engines, etc. so the claim it was ‘essentially a farming community was nonsense.
It really doesn’t matter if the power stations, roads, what have you, are ‘residual’ or the industry and tech are not world leading, what matters is that it isn’t ‘essentially a farming community’.
The Palestinians have rejected five attempts at a “Two State” solution since the late 1930’s – what makes anyone think they will accept such a solution now?
This time they are not being asked and from there cowardly & inhumane behavior of 2 weeks ago it is fairly obvious that the five, previous, “askings” were a waste of time, effort & lotza lives (on both sides) …….!
Demarkation dispute! 😀

By the way, Dover, If I recall, you weren’t exactly throwing stones at the Bush administration until recently. Harry Hindsight has 20/20 vision.
When Biden told them their time was up and presto, but you’re ignoring the before-that. Why?
Nonsense as in silly. Farming and mining comprising the bulk of the economy.
Add in mining along with vertical farming and mining related industries and you’re almost there. Nuclear is a soviet era project, which you causally ignore because it suits your argument.

Totally agree. It’s derivative, solipsistic, retarded, wankerish and of course too few recipes are discussed. And of course not enough God “oracalism”.
JC
you sound like a child
Oops, correct, thick fingers on my part.
The point remains: the ‘Yes electorates’ are characterised by either a Labor or Green sitting member and a Green or Labor second preference candidate. You see this in both the super Yes electorates and 50%+ Yes electorates.
Wherever and whenever the ‘contest of ideas’ is between Labor and the Greens the preferred outcome is a shit sandwich for the rest of Australia.
And that contest spills most strongly into the national discussion from ideas held widely in inner Sydney, Melbourne and Canbra.
I earlier posted a piece from the Oz, wherein the Greens are trailing their coat for a coalition with the Labor Golden Success Machine after the next election. The damage from that would be intergenerational and probably unrecoverable.
Calli,
SNAP! 😀
I made some boomer angry on Hot Copper pointing out how Ford has given up on EVs.
He sounds like ‘Woomba Man. “It’s the small dick wankers who want Mustangs, that’s why the EV Mustang and Ford EV failed!”
I almost hope my CXO holding turns to dog crap just to spite these folk.
What full of holes are your arguments. 6%, or even 7% is not control. It’s a large ownership and this ownership also depends on which fund is holding the stock.
They picked the right stock then , according to you. How do we know they still own it?
It’s not dominant. Please remain silent on these conspiracy theories. Also there’s nothing unusual about senior executives being called up for government service. You’re reading too much into it as usual.
And you sound defective.
Look dickhead, if you don’t like the topics being discussed then introduce a subject, which if people think is interesting, they will gravitate towards.
Otherwise, start your own blog and show Dover how it’s done. Whatever you do, stop whining like a sore loser as you’re just a pathetic troll.
The EPA is doing a review of NSW’s coal fired power. You can either do the survey or make a submission or do both. So get off your arses and do it and let the ratbags know what you think:
Review of coal fired power station environment protection licences
sorry about seagulls folks
Look at this vile shit:
Anti-Semitic attacks have exploded since Hamas ambushed Israel earlier this month. It has taken form in many ways including tearing down posters of missing children to making threats to people simply because they are Jewish.
This has taken an extreme form in online messages. Lily Ebert, who is a 99-year-old Holocaust survivor has been receiving about 1,000 hate messages on a daily basis since the October 7th attack. She lives in London and runs a TikTok account with her great-grandson. Their main aim is to educate people about the Holocaust and have a substantial following of over 2 million people.
The messages they received are very aggressive and cruel including references to Hitler and emojis that show the devil and the middle finger. Her great-grandson Dov Forman disabled the comments on their account because it became unbearable for her.
You should also apologize for your senseless trolling.
Go on, dickhead, introduce a topic that people will jump to discuss?
Go!
We’ll wait.
(You’re a worthless troll with zero to add. You’re not the entertainment director here and we’re not your entertainment.)
With all the evildoing Israel has dealt with for the past three weeks, it is absolutely inspiring to see that Israel has a wicked sense of humour.
Stick it right up ’em Israel.
“The messages they received are very aggressive and cruel including references to Hitler and emojis that show the devil and the middle finger. Her great-grandson Dov Forman disabled the comments on their account because it became unbearable for her.”
And, unless one of the online cowards attacking her disses her pronouns, the Met Police will do NOTHING.
If you can find where I have stated “control” then post my quote.
You were of course wrong about Raytheon too.
You can go on fantasizing and also wanting others to believe these corps are saintly entities. They are the US military industrial complex with their Blackrock point men lodged inside corrupt Biden’s regime. Little wonder then that this loathsome regime of neo-cons and freaks are so eager to keep the blood flowing.
Very generous. Gillard got her only real character assessment at her exit interview at Slugs and Grubs. Liar PMs deliver for their paymasters, something you could never accuse the Lieborals of doing.
“With all the evildoing Israel has dealt with for the past three weeks, it is absolutely inspiring to see that Israel has a wicked sense of humour.”
It’s a mitzvah to laugh. People told jokes in the camps, hard to believe but they did.
It’s as accurate as your :
Bullshit.
So they bought the stock in January 2023. The stock was then around 100 bucks a share and now, despite two wars going on, it’s $79.16. That’s some big time influence going on. Incredible influence. Shocking in fact.
Blackrock is the largest fund management in the world. Possessing a 7% ownership in a US corp is therefore not out of the ordinary, even though you’re attempting to make some conspiracy theory out of it.
What are the other couple of stocks doing.? 🙂
Which I’ve never claimed, and even called Blackrock a dickhead company. You obviously missed that. Funny how you miss things that don’t suit.
I know, the US attacked Ukraine. So evil
I heard something interesting on the radio today. It was about Tel Aviv. Apparently it is the most “dog friendly” city on earth, and ownership of dergs is the highest also.
Also the word “kelev” connoting faithfulness might also have an association with the name Caleb, or “whole-hearted”. And Kelev is dog. It’s a nice conceit, even if tenuous. When I heard it I immediately thought of Cassie’s Zionist dogs.
The biblical Caleb was one of the faithful spies, he also wanted the bit of the Promised Land that was the most challenging.
And that, children, is your story for today. 😀
what ordinary Palestinians were doing three weeks ago at the Erek crossing into Israel.
By the way, you left the second sentence out of your missive. If you’re going to play word games and act sneaky then I’m not interested in having any discussion with you. Play straight up or ship out.
oh, that reminds me
… what set you into vendetta-mode a few years ago JC ?
something in your imagination ?
Trump was largely hostage to the Regime. I never said I picked this in the naughties. In fact, I’ve said the opposite, that the revelations of the last half decade have been eye-opening for me.
You don’t easily overwhelm an opponent when you’re on the back foot, JC.
Manufacturing is above mining and equal to ag.
It doesn’t suit my argument? Whether they are pre- or post-Soviet is irrelevant since either way they are part of Ukraine.
Also the word “kelev” connoting faithfulness might also have an association with the name Caleb, or “whole-hearted”. And Kelev is dog. It’s a nice conceit, even if tenuous. When I heard it I immediately thought of Cassie’s Zionist dogs.
It does have an association.
Midrash says that the night we fled Egypt, the dogs remained silent to help us.
Jews love dogs, and dogs love Jews.
Anyone who is cruel to a dog is a mamzer.
When you go to a Jewish function, be it a kiddush, a wedding, a barmitzvah, a bris, even a funeral, a shiva, people eat and laugh.
Judaism revolves around celebrating and laughing.
Not a vendetta, but replying your stupid trolling nearly every night. Totally disgusting with not a skerrick on a topic to add. When someone suggested you add to a subject you become indignant for even being asked. Pretty much what you’re doing now. Nothing to add and just pathetically trolling, while trying to sound half way smart. Now enuff, as you’re boring.
Ok, so you admit I never mentioned “control”. So why continue to make sh*t up in your argument?
Lol, Only every page of every open thread.
It is a MAJOR shareholding which therefore will benefit from USG war mongering policy spend on weapons. Blackrock’s interests lie in prolonging conflict (and spending) that can be influenced from their Administration appointments.
Biden’s, Bush’s and Obama’s regimes were/are malevolent forces in this world. Biden even hates his own country. US facilitated the Ukraine coup in 2014 and then accepted the indiscriminate killing of Russians in the Donbas by the Kiev regime, the Biden’s corruption there had free reign while pushing NATO east in provocation of Russia. The US f*cked Ukraine – you should be so proud of the Yanks. And what’s more, they can carpet bomb the whole world if they want, right?
That’s why when i gave up my Oz citizenship, i could have become a dual national but didn’t see the point.
I feel it was a good choice, no one calls me Jap/Oz or Jap/English or anything remotely similar. I’m just a citizen, that’s all.
Russia f*cked Ukraine, let’s be serious.
“Judaism revolves around celebrating and laughing.
That should be the basis for all life. It’s how I have always tried to live mine.
In some respects and in other ways he wasn’t. Trump had full authority to hire and fire any person in the US federal government. He should’ve.
Institutions become ossified and broken. Have a little hope that the US can renew itself as it always has in the past. Wait for the 24 election now, before you throw the baby out with the dirty diaper.
Dover, you’re taking the last days and extending it out for all the period when the troop numbers were around 2,500. They were mostly that number before Hiden and during theTrump era. I would say around 2500 troops keeping the Taliban down is pretty good going. The fact that Afghans couldn’t hold it together.. well that’s their problem.
Steel making, which is what I described as vertical integration. Steel making is a low tech business.
It’s not irrelevant as the Ukrainians inherited these plants from the Soviet era.
Russia f*cked Ukraine, let’s be serious.
Ukraine was already pretty high on the f*cked spectrum from their own doing.
Russia definitely took their f*ckness parabolic.
US facilitated the Ukraine coup in 2014 and then accepted the indiscriminate killing of Russians in the Donbas by the Kiev regime, the Biden’s corruption there had free reign while pushing NATO east in provocation of Russia.
That’s my understanding
Ok, I hesitate to bring this up, but any recommendations for travel pillows?
Until Hamas is castrated, defunded & their policies disavowed by the people of Gaza, there really is no way forward.
It’s like dealing with Orcs.
Just put Sky on, interview with Anna Bligh CEO of the Australian Bankers Association, FMD, our pollies and our big companies and institutions are revolving doors for those with the ‘right’ beliefs.
If the US did it in the Ukraine and are now trying it in Hungary, it’s not beyond the bounds of possibility that they could try it here. The place seems so irrational and obnoxious now- so much US TV and Cinema is just nasty and offensive.
Of course.
No. The US abandoned a huge amount of treasure because they lost control of the situation in the last year. You’re trying to hide the taste of a shit sandwich with hundreds and thousands.
So what?
Again, so what? Completely irrelevent given they are a part of Ukraine.
Hamas reportedly refusing to let foreign nationals leave the Gaza strip.

‘Airbus Albo is sticking’: Ben Fordham says Anthony Albanese is ‘spending too much time’ on overseas trips and losing touch with everyday Aussies
The radio host called on the Prime Minister to “read the room” after revealing the scope of his international travel.
Radio host Ben Fordham has taken aim at Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s travel itinerary, accusing him of spending an excessive amount of time overseas and neglecting the issues affecting everyday Australians.
Speaking on his 2GB breakfast show on Monday morning, Fordham said the Prime Minister needed to “read the room right now” over his frequent trips out of the country.
“There is a growing belief that Anthony Albanese is spending too much time out of the country,” Fordham said.
“He’s just returned from the USA today after important talks with President Joe Biden, and later this week he’s off to China.
“The nickname Airbus Albo is sticking.”
Fordham then rattled off a list of places the Prime Minister has visited since taking office last May.
Mr Albanese has jetted to Japan three times, while he’s been to Indonesia, India and London twice each.
He’s also flown to the United Arab Emirates, Paris, Ukraine, Fiji, Cambodia, Bali, Thailand, Port Moresby, San Diego, Singapore, Vietnam, Lithuania, Germany, New Zealand, the Philippines and Washington during his 18-month tenure as PM.
The Prime Minister has reportedly nicknamed his plane, officially registered as A39-007, Toto One in honour of his pet pooch.
“Well Toto One is getting quite a workout,” Fordham said.
Fordham credited Mr Albanese for repairing relationships in the Pacific and with China, adding the PM wasn’t “on some kind of Contiki tour.”
“But Australian voters are tough markers, and they’re taking a close look right now at Anthony Albanese,” the radio host said.
“The perception is, he’s taken his eyes off the biggest issue impacting everyday families.
“If you’re spending half your life on a plane, you may not be hearing them.”

Well and truly Biden called the shots on who could do what in Ukraine. looking after his boy. That’s how much say the US had in Ukraine pre- Russian invasion. The US ran the show.
I should have said – the US f*cked over Ukraine. By following US and in particular CIA policy, Ukraine has now become a nation of male amputees led by grifters and neo-nazi sympathizers. Winning!
I never said you mentioned “control”. You used the word “dominant”. These two words are related if not exactly syns. So don’t blame me if you used the word “dominant” in the wrong context. Blame yourself.
This is what I said to clear it all up for you.
What (sic) full of holes are your arguments. 6%, or even 7% is not control. It’s a large ownership and this ownership also depends on which fund is holding the stock.
Really every page, yeah?. Certainly less than your ACTU inspired view of the world.
But with all the influence, all the insider knowledge that you appear to know about, the stock has sunk around 20% since they bought it. Wow, some influence.
No mention of St. Vladimir’s screwing around in the neighborhood by sending goons across the border to make trouble. How come?
What a silly, light minded little man.

Amazing how you mainline Russian propaganda.
That is Russian projection.

Do you think Putin legitimately earnt 200 bn USD of assets?
His inner circle are former communist party Young Turks.
You are blinded by your enmity to awful Western institutions to accept Putin’s much worse leadership.
Chanticleer
Qantas has made its ‘ghost flights’ defence. Now it should settle
The company that calls itself the Spirit of Australia would be best to show it believes in the spirit of consumer law, not the letter of it.
Outgoing Qantas chairman Richard Goyder has always rejected the idea that the airline was guilty of a banking industry-style, fee-for-no-service rort after the competition watchdog accused it of selling fares on 8000 flights it already knew it had cancelled.
Qantas’ formal response to the Federal Court case helps explain Goyder’s resolve.
While Qantas acknowledges this mess was not its finest hour, it is determined to make a key point “in purely legal terms” – a phrase that immediately sets off alarm bells for Chanticleer and any crisis-management expert – by arguing the ACCC has ignored what really happens when an airline sells a ticket.
As the watchdog itself notes, the inherent unpredictability of aviation means customers shouldn’t assume a plane will meet its exact schedule, and instead “airlines must meet the consumer guarantee of providing the service within a reasonable time”.
Qantas says it did just this. Passengers received a full refund or were rebooked as close as possible to their original time of flying; 100 per cent of domestic travellers were offered same-day flights departing prior to or within one hour after their scheduled departure time, while 98 per cent of international passengers were offered options on flights within a day of their scheduled departure.
Qantas concedes it made mistakes and has disappointed customers. It says its systems were not up to scratch and, in some cases, neither were its humans.
But it says it did what it did to help customers.
The state of Qantas’ systems means automatically cancelling swaths of flights would have triggered a messy, massive rebooking event, which would have melted down already-drowned call centres and made customers even angrier.
The result was messy, but the airline insists that it did not do any of this for financial gain. And it most definitely did not take fees for no service.
Walking a fine line
But there’s a big problem here: filing a defence in the Federal Court will likely do very little to help Qantas in the court of public opinion.
And so, having made its long-awaited defence, Goyder and Qantas chief executive Vanessa Hudson should be sitting down with ACCC chairwoman Gina Cass-Gottlieb as soon as possible to settle this case.
There are three key reasons for this.
First, Qantas cannot afford a protracted legal dispute with the ACCC if it wants to quickly turn around its bruised reputation.
The idea that the airline would want to see Goyder and Hudson in the witness box in 18 months’ time going through what the Qantas board knew, and when, is laughable. A quick settlement that acknowledges it did not handle this period well – as chaotic as it was – would surely reinforce the tone of humility that Goyder and Hudson insist has arrived.
Second, Qantas’ defence strikes a legalistic tone that should not sit well with the travelling public.
Qantas says in the concise statement attached to its Federal Court defence that the ACCC contends Qantas sells tickets to a particular flight, but what it actually sells is “a bundle of rights that includes alternative options to which consumers are entitled in respect of a cancelled flight”.
Legally, even logically, the argument makes sense – stuff happens in aviation (safety concerns or air traffic control matters or weather) and Qantas can’t guarantee flight times. But how hard does the airline want to push the idea that it doesn’t sell airfares or tickets, but ‘bundle of rights’?
Third, drawing a legal line in the sand won’t absolve Qantas for its mishandling of this mass cancellation event.
The fact it says it no longer leaves cancelled flights on sale, even for 48 hours, says it acknowledges it got its approach wrong.
The fact that it is now manually taking cancelled flights off sale further suggests its systems were not up to scratch.
Qantas might say COVID-19 omicron events are unusual, but history disagrees;
it has previously managed through volcanic ash clouds, epidemics such as SARS and bird flu, and even its own decision to ground its fleet during an industrial dispute.
Qantas is walking a fine line with its Federal Court defence. It has made its point, and it should move on quickly with a proportional settlement.
The company that calls itself the Spirit of Australia would be best to show it believes in the spirit of consumer law, not the letter of it.
I’m not aware of Putin parading transvestites at the Kremlin.
You mean those neck pillows for the plane TE?
I don’t like any of them.
Ukraine is not in the US neighborhood. Without the aggressive backing of the US or NATO, would Ukraine have provoked Russia? Of course not.
No they don’t. They are the nazi dickheads who were stomping around Sydney streets screeching “Kill the Jews”, “Gas the Jews”.
They can FOAD.
3,400 civilians on both sides died in the Donbas War over eight years and this was labelled as “Ukraine indiscriminately killing Russian citizens”.
Pure poison.
6,500 Russian/”New Russia” military dead.
4,400 Ukraine military dead.
Oh dear. Shot down by “Russian backed separatists” (Russian SF).
DOT has had more interaction with GMB than myself but my brief encounter with him last night suggests he is not GMB.
MB stated Crick had no idea about the implications of his work. Crick wrote the Central Dogma of Biology. It is wrong but for decades was widely accepted.
MB confused Koch with Kepler, which makes no sense at all.
GMB didn’t make those types of glaring errors and in matters of science and just about everything else he could not resist putting forward his theory as being superior. By Bird’s own admission he has ADHD and ODD often goes with that condition. GMB consistently demonstrates some characteristics of Oppositional Defiant Disorder.
MB responses to me were light and polite. GMB was rarely like that, often obtuse and condescending. No evidence of ODD and AFAIK ODD can’t be medicated away.
The whole tenor of his responses was completely different. I didn’t read his other comments so perhaps there are clues there. I will not waste my time back reading.
Like the people being kidnapped from Israel they are going to have to be ransomed.
But UK doctor on holiday you just keep blaming Israel for your plight.
Harper – do your job.
Pallashay – do yours, and stop trying to cling to what you think is power for as long as possible.
Harper is an absolute dimwit who is facing electoral oblivion. An ex Ambulance union type that has big signposts of himself all over Kirwan on how he’s delivering for Thuringowa but no-one can actually think of anything he has delivered. Except a crimewave maybe.
Palace”chook” is definitely on the nose up this way. Wonder if her and the three blind mice as they are known up this way (Members for Thuringowa, Townsville & Mundingburra) underestimated the anger out in the community.
Bully reckons there were only 150 at the protest, the Bully and it’s reporters are so far up the local ALP’s orifice that I’d probably triple that to get close to the real figure.
Halloween Starts Early in America!
Three mass shootings at Halloween parties in the US
There have been three mass shootings at Halloween celebrations in the United States.
Two people were killed and 18 others injured after two people opened fire in Florida.
Authorities say a fight provoked the shooting, one of the victims has been named as 14-year-old Elijah Wilson and people are calling for any witnesses to speak out.
Elsewhere one person has died and nine others injured in a shooting in Indianapolis.
At least 15 people have been injured in a shooting on Chicago’s outskirts.
Rosie, what happens in Gaza, stays in Gaza.
Looks like the holiday makers in the open air prison get an extension.
The US lost a huge amount to treasure because of Hiden’s total incompetence.
Please stop the mind reading bullshit and stick to facts.
If the US considered it important, they would’ve sent in reinforcements. There is no shit sandwich until Hiden stole the election. If Trump were around even the 2500 troops would have held the place like they had in the past as the threat of severe punishment would’ve also held them in check. Comparably, imagine the great Russian forces trying to hold down Afghan with 2500 troops. Those incompetent idiots wouldn’t be able to hold it for an hour.
Steel making is about as complex and wheat farming. In fact wheat farming would be more complex. Don’t over egg the omelette. How many people employed in steel making vs farming?
It’s not irrelevant at all. Ukraine didn’t build those nuke plants.
Sounds like a 50’s era battered wife explanation.
Russia is now a client state of China.
Regardless of what was going on on it’s border, it should not have invaded Ukraine.
If only because of the economic ramifications.
Ukraine was well f*cked before the Russians got there
… ask the Americans why
snap!
Israel has turned back on two out of three water pipes into southern Gaza, the third was apparently damaged by hamas on 7 October. Only accounts for around 9% of Gaza water, the rest was desalinated or treated aquifer, no electricity, no water.
Israel provided 50% of electricity, the rest is generated by diesel.
No fuel, no electricity.
Hamas knew all of this before it went to war.
Went to war anyhow.
Goyder should quit while he’s behind. Go fishing or something, it will be a few years before the phone rings again.
Or used as human shields & leverage against Western governments defending Israel’s actions.
Look who’s joining in. From demanding we entertain him with new more interesting subjects, The Trans does a “snap” to the subject he was whining about.
Have you ever.

Ok, I hesitate to bring this up, but any recommendations for travel pillows?
Top Ender,
Only need one if you are travelling economy internationally – I use a Memory Foam one, but realistically, easier to buy one in airport shop on departure – one with poly beads is fine – 2 of the Grandkids did so on recent QF Y flight back from LAX-SYD – I do have a blow up one as well that is not bad
I will take the same approach on my next flight to Milan as if not with wife, cannot jusitify to myself Business for 2 x 24 hours vs aisle Y seat on Emirates 380

No, I’m not. Unlike you dotty, I have some experience living in that part of the world. You are the one hitting the pro-Ukraine/US/NATO bong. I’m just seeing the corrupt , hypocritical US and West for what it has become and I now don’t buy anything their propaganda machines are pushing out.
I’m fully aware that Putin is totally corrupt (like the traitors in power in the west) Most Russians know and accept that to be true. But he has held and is holding the country together and that matters far more to Russians than what you, I or the west think of Putin and how he acts. . Russians will value stability at the centre- in Moscow above all else. Chaos and disintegration is their biggest fear.
I suppose he just whistles for it and the plane rushes to him eager to please.
And each jaunt, each flight, may very well seem to him as harmless as taking the dog for a walk.
It actually fits.
Having a bit of experience at both I can say…
some arguments just make the bystanders cry.
Goyder should quit while he’s behind. Go fishing or something, it will be a few years before the phone rings again.
The arrogance is breathtaking.
Like I keep saying, Putin is not trashing and ridiculing Russian institutions the way the old perv is. Morale matters.
The tsarist era, Soviet Union were exceedingly “stable”. Maybe, a little instability that free elections would bring is perhaps better than 20 years of current “stability” with a grievance mongering lunatic with aspirations .
Oh I forgot, his opposition is either in jail, or jumped over a hotel balcony by mistake when they were tipsy, accidentally swallowed polonium, or died in a plane crash.
Exactly. But the problem is there are grubs around that get a thrill from extending the violence.
Idiotic.
Is that why he had 25,000 rebel military contractors march 9/10ths of the way on him in his capital?
The guards dug in and Priggy gave up.
On the way, they had zero resistance.
That’s nowhere close to “holding the country together!”.
He is now a vassal to China and China will take what they like. China is the only state seriously considering a partition of Russia.
Most countries don’t have aborted coups against the regime when they’re fighting a popular war for a beloved leader.
Oh I forgot, his opposition is either in jail, or jumped over a hotel balcony by mistake when they were tipsy
sounds like Washington DC in the 2020s plus a bit of Arkincide.
Unfortunately. But as I said, hold off until 24 elections and then review it.
Be interesting to know what the demands are.
hold off until 24 elections and then review it
deal
Yes he absolutely is. They have no credibility in force projection other than nukes. He came close to being booted in a coup that was supported from the front most of the way to Moscow. Russian elections are laughable and they’re being supplied by…North Korea, which suffers from famine from time to time.
Whatever their demands, I believe they should each receive compensation of nine grams of base metal.
Gaza has beautiful hotels on the Mediterranean but holidaying in a territory controlled by an organisation your own government has declared proscribed terrorists?
The Scottish first person’s family are a bonus bargaining chip.
SJB-P, I was too young for, was a pre-schooler when we lived in Brisbane under his tenure.
Peter Beattie though is another kettle of fish. Teflon he was nicknamed for good reason. His Government escaped the media scrutiny of SJB-P though being just as bad if not worse by running down Government institutions. Mike Kaiser, Gordon Nuttall, Terry Mackinroth and others all as crooked as each other, only Nuttall went down.
Bligh, if anything she was guilty of allowing the rot to continue. Got some plumb jobs after being dumped by the electorate though which grated.
As for Palace”chook” supposed we’ll find out about her Government after the fact, though she and her cabinet comes across as thoroughly incompetent to me and would fumble any attempt at corruption, except for Trad who did get caught with the fingers in the jar.
Yup we here in Queensland do excel at having crooked politicians.
Russian elections are laughable
the 2020 one in the US would be too if it wasn’t so disgusting

Ridiculing and trashing American institutions-Morale matters
