Islamic terrorism is in long decline.

No it isn’t. it can’t be; all islam does is commit terror, against infidels and then itself. What has happening is useful idiots are acting as proxies and the left leaders are the biggest useful idiots because they believe they can control and use their prime victim, islam, to destroy Western democracy and then maintain it as a pet. They tried this in iran and look what happened.

Islam works by numbers or measure of toxicity: in small numbers it nuzzles up to its left masters and plays the victim game; eventually as its numbers increase, and islam has the highest fertility of any group in the world, it takes over and destroys its host including the left.

Of course the progress of islam through the West is not reported by the msm; the latest palli protests in NY where the cops were attacked was only reported by Fox; no other news (sic) outlet mentioned it at all. So it just seems islam is getting more benign.

I have coffee (in my jeans/shirt/sneakers) when in Sydney with some ladies who wear their diamonds & latest leisure wear to the beach. That is who they are – some are more interested in fashion than politics, but they are the first to help some in our circle who have lost a partner/contracted breast cancer/found they now have a partner with dementia & many other of life’s disasters. They often out me to shame with their concern and generosity.

Yes. Many of my dance group friends are on the northside, some very wealthy just like those in Vaucluse harbourside coffee circles, Vicki, but all are as you say, kindly, welcoming and generous to a fault to those in strife. Some in both groups vote Teal, but others are more wary of them. Most in both areas are essentially conservative, but eco-nonsense needs correcting everywhere.

I’ve lived on both sides of the harbour and there has always been a certain tension and rivalry between the well-off northsiders, including the northern beaches as well as the northern harbour, and the rich in the eastern suburbs, largely due to attendance at differing private schools. Sydney in my earlier days had far more snobbery than now. Times have changed and people with it.

Last 2 days have been oppressive humidity wise, real build up stinkers. Afternoon familiar cloud build up on horizon. 100km inland getting hammered then collapses close to coast. Looking at radars up & down the QLD tropical coast same except for Innisfail/Tully which are copping it as usual.

Air cons got a run today but the lounge room one isn’t starting the outdoor unit which is frustrating as hell. Working a couple of weeks ago when checked and I don’t think I’ll get it fixed before Christmas…

Lizzie, these days many kids (especially the boys) from the north side attend eastern suburbs private schools – especially boys at Scots. There is now a dedicated bus for them. Our grandson attended Scots because he was a gifted athlete & was mad to play rugby. He ended up boarding in the last two years because the travel was so onerous when he had to train at 6am. But he was regarded as a bit of an oddity because he lived in the northern suburbs, whereas other boarders were from the country or OS.

Islamic terrorism is in long decline.”

Further to this ludicrous statement, the single reason why there are not more Islamic attacks in France, the UK, USA, Oz, Canada and other western countries is because security services and intelligence agencies are monitoring and more crucially, intercepting Islamic radicals every single second, minute, hour, day, month and year.

But this is not the case in most other parts of the world, in Asia and Africa for example, where Islamic terrorism occurs on a daily basis. Just ask the Christians in Nigeria, under constant attack by Islamic terrorists. Every second day Christians are butchered in parts of Africa by Islamic terrorists.

With growing Muslim populations in the West, those populations aided by leftists, expect to see more Islamic terrorism.

Cats – I will not be reading through the 500+ (?) comments since my one this morning.

These things (don’t) happen.

However, I will observe that the albansleazey gubment’s reign of indescribable idiocy has now reached if not exceeded the dubious heights of any previous labore gubments we’ve been gifted with over the last 60 years.

In only 18 months, to boot.

An achievement of any sort? Perhaps not.

But, we have been treated to the unedifying spectacle of the braindead inbred violent useless idiots they’ve deliberately imported to this country as a captive voteherd displaying their preference for “killing and gassing Jews”.

The labore pardee is an unrepentant criminal racketeering outfit, laden with communist quislings.

Yep. I think it’s pretty clear after seeing the protests in London, that is has both the numbers and toxicity. Not a good combination and this does not bode well for the future, particularly for UK Jews.

The only comment I’ll make about the Boomer topic is that the taxpayer presently funds a greatly expanded set of either free or subsidised services compared to previous generations.

What benefit do normal people get from the NDIS or 65% of debt to GDP? All they get is pain. Nothing. Is. Free.

In fact, the taxpayer does not “presently fund” this, only partially so.

FUTURE TAXPAYERS fund the shortfall.

After graduating & getting well paid jobs, many children of Boomers were then assisted by Boomer parents to help finance their first home – something that few Boomers enjoyed by way of their post war parents.

The post-war boom didn’t start in 1965 and they’re called boomers because they’re named after something, the period wasn’t named after them.

Their post-war parents were not poor! There was a post-war economic boom!

They could help with the deposit but didn’t need to. Housing is literally three times more expensive in relative terms than it was in 1985 for example (I suppose the youngest Gen Xers could be buying in by then).

If you took a loan in 1985 that went from 11% to 17% in 1989, that was tough.

If you took a loan post 2020 here in Australia then going from 2% fixed to possibly 9% variable will likely bankrupt you. Even at 7% the mortgages are just as unaffordable now as they were in 1989.

7% or so is low considering the unenviable government debt we have.

Epub and PDF just don’t work for me. I get easily confused by directions others have no problems with. It just doesn’t mesh and things that others have no problems with may as well be written in Sanskrit.

Not sure what the problem is.. plenty of YouTube how-to’s to help with a really shallow learning curve.

Using your PC or Window$ Laptop, preferably with a large display screen:

A) Download and install the relevant software (some pdf , epub or djvu reader)

B) Download and install a file format converter: epub to pdf, or AZW to epub etc..
The permutations are many.
They depend on what you have downloaded and what you want to end up with.
The best final formats are pdf, epub and djvu.

C) After copying your Kindle AZW files onto your PC, convert them into one of the above formats.
This may be tedious if you have thousands of eBooks, but you’ll be glad you did.

D) Back up the converted files to another HDD, USB… whatever. So you never have to repeat the steps again.

E) Use your installed reader to enjoy reading totally DRM-free, copiable, modifiable eBooks for the rest of your life.

If you wish, your Kindle can now be used as a rectangular frisbee.

Kneel at 3:59.

Such T&C’s are not as binding as you might think – if they prominently advertise on their web site and sign-up page that you can “pay once and always have access” (which I’m pretty sure they do), then a reasonable person would NOT assume that is completely contradicted in the extremely long legalese that is the T&C’s, so all you need to do is convince a judge that a reasonable person would think as you did and you can sue their pants off and win.

Years ago CBA offered a Visa card to members of a professional society I was a member of (BSPWWA) “fee free for life”.
Many years later an annual fee pops up.
I disputed it and got it waived.
It appeared every 2-3 years and I disputed it every time.
Finally they dug their heels in and refused to waive it.
I asked what “fee free for life” meant.
The smarmy prick on the phone said, “Oh, that means the life of the offer, not your life”.
Unfortunately I couldn’t find the original offer letter. If I could I reckon they would have been bound by it.

‘Oppressive’: Higgins to endure third day of cross-examination in defamation trial
Harriet Alexander
By Harriet Alexander
December 1, 2023 — 5.44pm

Listen to this article
3 min

On the 22nd floor of a well-appointed office building in Sydney’s central business district, a woman has moved into her fourth day of testimony about her alleged rape by a senior male colleague in 2019.

She is not the complainant in a criminal trial. Brittany Higgins is the chief witness in a defamation claim brought by her alleged assailant, Bruce Lehrmann, and she has already been on the stand longer than him.

She claims that he raped her in the ministerial suite of their then-boss, Senator Linda Reynolds. He is suing Network Ten and its journalist Lisa Wilkinson for airing those claims, which he strenuously denies.

Higgins has answered dozens of questions about a bruise that she says appeared on her leg in the days following the alleged assault, numerous questions about what happened to the dress she wore on the night and scores of questions about inconsistencies in the version of events she has given over the years since.

And while she fields questions from Lehrmann’s barrister on the minutiae of the evening and the weeks and years that followed, Lehrmann sits beside the windows that frame a view of Sydney Harbour from Garden Island to the Heads.

He rests a glass of water on the windowsill. He takes notes in slender handwriting with a silver pen in a dark blue moleskin notepad.

Higgins has been defiant, impatient, tearful, conciliatory, forthright and defeated during parts of her evidence. But on Friday she is calm.

When Lehrmann’s barrister, Steven Whybrow, SC, indicates in the afternoon that he is not done, that he will resume his cross-examination next week and that he might need more than a day, she takes a deep inward breath.

The barrister for Network Ten, Matthew Collins, KC, rises to his feet. Higgins has already been under cross-examination for two full days, he says. She now has the burden of a three-day weekend to sit through before she might expect to be released, given that the case will not be heard on Monday.

“It is becoming oppressive,” Collins says. “It’s longer than the period Mr Lehrmann was in the witness box and she’s just a witness.”

Justice Michael Lee is inclined to agree. “I think with respect there is some force in that,” he says. He agrees to extend the sitting hours on Tuesday in the hope that Whybrow might be able to complete his cross-examination.

Higgins is released from the witness box. Four years after the night she was allegedly raped, she is still repeating her story. She has a long way to go

Ed Halmagyi is one of my favourite people his father is neurologist De Gabor Halmagyi – I was at a hospital with my disabled son who had a mystery illness and Dr Halmagyi was attending to him — when I met him I said that was an unusual name and that the only other person with that name that I knew of was chef Ed Halmagyi and he was so proud to say that is his son and yes Halmagyi is a very unusual name and there aren’t many of that name left.

From time to time I corresponded by email with Fast Ed to say I’d tried a recipe and he would alway reply — I told him of my encounter with his Dad and he replied that my son was lucky to have been attended by one of the kindest human beings on Earth. It was such a lovely tribute to his father.

A few weeks later a parcel arrived. it was from Dr Halmagyi containing a cookbook signed by his son Ed.

I can hardly wait to go to Avner’s. God bless him and may Ed succeed beyond all expectations.

I really don’t give a rats if someone wants to give away their ID to full government control. Their choice and funeral if we go down the Chicom path. I’ll choose not to till I’m coerced.

However 2 parts of their system are already coercive with no opt out. First, Vaccine Register and I saw in that article was your USI. Why the government would want to know about all the crappy useless union driven pseudo courses that you have to do to be able to even walk on a worksite is beyond me. These idiots in the PS feed the paranoia of the tin foil hatters even if the Government isn’t spying on you.

However how long before this is mandatory to open bank accounts, get a passport, drivers licence or even buy property. Too much of this digital BS is being shoved on to older generations who don’t easily navigate it and just don’t want it. I can work it out if I choose to, my mum wouldn’t have a hope in hell.

My 2c worth, have it there, allow it to expand naturally with the younger generations, allow us older people to use more analogue methods till we die out. Live and let live and be aware after COVID some of us have legitimate questions on what safeguards are in the system to stop it being weaponised. As I see there are none.

It has, indeed.

But the term technocrat has been distorted from its original meaning.

Technocrats are individuals with technical training and occupations who perceive many important societal problems as being solvable with the applied use of technology and related applications.

The ‘technocrats’ now destroying society actually have very little ‘technology’ content – at best technology-adjacent, but most commonly claiming misunderstood technology as support for their activist objectives.

Let them go, boys, let them go, boys
Let them go down in the mud, where the rivers all run dry

Bury me at sea
Where no murdered ghost can haunt me
If I rock upon the waves
And no corpse can lie upon me

Let me go, boys, let me go, boys
Let me go down in the mud, where the rivers all run dry

If I should fall from grace with God
Where no doctor can relieve me
If I’m buried in the sand
But the angels won’t receive me

Let me go, boys, let me go, boys
Let me go down in the mud, where the rivers all run dry

Islamic terrorism is in long decline.”

Further to this ludicrous statement, the single reason why there are not more Islamic attacks in France, the UK, USA, Oz, Canada and other western countries is because security services and intelligence agencies are monitoring and more crucially, intercepting Islamic radicals every single second, minute, hour, day, month and year.

But at what cost?

Our government monitors and stores every call and text from every person all around the country.

Is that a price worth paying for our supposed “security/safety”?

The was a quote about that…
Something to do with sacrificing essential liberty for temporary safety….
Anyone remember?

Technocrats are individuals with technical training and occupations who perceive many important societal problems as being solvable with the applied use of technology and related applications

Yep. Monstrous colourless grey automatons, who if you see them approaching you, it’s best to run for your life and fill out the Will, if you haven’y already … 😕

Good luck with that.

It should be an everyday occurrence.

Ironically, I tried a version of that just yesterday. Wifey has her eye set on an expensive item of clothing and asked what i thought about the money angle. I got the usual crap that it’s on discount and therefore its a form of saving. I said that it would be okay, but there would be one condition. No lip for a month. She refused to take the deal.

Went to my first Catholic mass this today.
Too much kneeling for my cartilage free knees compared to Anglicanism.
Had a good long chat afterwards with the Father, who is from Argentina and a bloody libertarian sympathiser! Very excited he was at the World’s first libertarian government.

No you don’t. You never ever apologize to females because it’s interpreted the wrong way. Brain function is different. A specific apology to a female means that a dude is apologizing for every single past and future transgression; not that one single thing.

Benjamin Franklin once said: “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” That quote often comes up in the context of new technology and concerns about government surveillance.

I knew who said it but wasn’t sure of the exact quote.
He was right of course, needless to say, but we are human and do it over and over again.
