Very few comedians are actually that.
They fall into two groups:
Toilet humour – point at or make a joke about a toilet – laughter.
Sweary humour – every second word is “F*CK – edgy laughter.
No longer funny, just boring.

I recall seeing Billy Connelly at Subiaco (Regal?) many years ago. He’s relating the story about the previous night laying in bed trying to think about tonights show and how the couple in the next room were going for it for hours. Fer f*cks sake, just finish. The little old ladies are falling over themselves sitting down, never hearing so many f*cks in one story. Billy has the ability to remove the crudeness, this in contrast with Bill Bailey who doesn’t swear at all. Both are the finest stand up comedians.

His ability to keep five or six stories going, interrupted by the occasional song, one-liner and banter was something to experience. In a “season” of five or six shows in the same week at the same venue, no two shows were the same, in “sequence”. or even material.

Often the “tales” between the “zingers”, were from what he was out doing BETWEEN shows. His “World Tours” series is notable for that feature. When he was in Brisbane, on that tour, he headed off on the Harley Trike, TV crew in tow, to various spots around South East Queensland.. Very funny but VERY professional.

Isn’t it true that philosophers who haven’t kept themselves updated with developments in neuroscience continue to believe in existence of mind as an entity?

Yes, many philosophers who have not engaged with contemporary neuroscience might maintain traditional or dualistic views of the mind as an independent, non-physical entity. This perspective, often associated with Cartesian dualism, posits that the mind and body are fundamentally distinct.

However, developments in neuroscience challenge this view by increasingly demonstrating that mental processes correlate with and depend on brain activity. These findings have led to the growing influence of physicalist and materialist perspectives, which argue that the mind arises from and is inseparable from the physical brain.

You can survive in farming but luck also helps.

——————

Tarndwarncoort is one of Victoria’s oldest surviving homesteads + the continuation of one of Australia’s oldest family sheep farms.

Tarndie (or more respectfully, Tarndwarncoort) is based in South Western Victoria, Australia and has been owned and operated by the Dennis family since 1840.
The property is home to Australia’s first breed of sheep, the Polwarth sheep and its listed buildings reflect the Cornish heritage of the pioneer family.

The Polwarth County was typified by grassy plains, lakes, creeks, swamps, and ancient volcanic soils. These natural attributes, when matched with the graziers resolve to continually improve their farms and sheep, provided the impetus to breed a type of sheep to suit this environment.
The Polwarth Sheep was the result.

The family links to Tarndwarncoort started with Emma and Alexander Dennis when they left their shrinking family farm in Cornwall, UK in 1839. It was on the advice of Emma’s ship captain brother that new farmlands were discovered in “Australia Felix”.

They landed 615 Merino sheep at Point Henry in Geelong and found a suitable run at Tarndwarncoort by 1840. Here they began a dynasty of innovative farming that has seen boom and bust over 7 generations.
Polwarth Sheep are naturally white; however, Tarndie has a specialised flock of black and coloured sheep in unique and sought-after shades.

The members of the first original flock still grow at Tarndwarncoort, and their wool is treasured by crafters all over the world.

Sometimes a handful of luck is worth more than a bucketful of brain.

—————–

The Defenestration of Prague: How Three Men Falling Sparked Europe’s Deadliest War

On a warm May morning in 1618, three men took an unexpected flight from a window of Prague Castle. Their 70-foot plunge into history would ignite a conflict that would ravage Europe for the next three decades.

The stage was set in Bohemia, modern-day Czech Republic. Protestant nobles were seething. The Catholic Emperor Matthias had broken his promise of religious freedom. Something had to give.
That something was the patience of Count Thurn and his fellow Protestant lords. They stormed into the Bohemian Chancellery, grabbed two Catholic regents and their secretary, and unceremoniously chucked them out the window.

Now, you might think a fall from such a height would be fatal. But our three unwilling aeronauts had a stroke of luck – or divine intervention, depending on who you ask. They landed in a pile of manure. Stinky? Yes. Lifesaving?

Absolutely.

Catholics cried miracle, claiming angels had cushioned the fall. Protestants scoffed, crediting good old-fashioned horse droppings. Either way, the men survived.

But while they lived, peace died that day. The “Defenestration of Prague” (that’s fancy talk for “tossing folks out windows”) lit the fuse of the Thirty Years’ War. This conflict would redraw Europe’s religious and political map, leaving millions dead in its wake.

It wasn’t the first time Prague had seen such window-based political statements. A similar incident in 1419 had kicked off the Hussite Wars. But this one?
This one would change the course of European history.

Andrew Bolt:

Anthony Albanese still can’t see how he’s helped to unleash a catastrophe – anti-Jewish terrorism in our country.

No wonder the Prime Minister, under intense pressure, seized on the theory floated by Australian Federal Police commissioner Reece Kershaw that “overseas actors” were whipping it up.

“It is important that people understand where some of these attacks are coming from,” Albanese said on Wednesday.

“It would appear, as the AFP commissioner said on Tuesday, that some of these are being perpetrated by people who don’t have a particular issue, aren’t motivated by an ideology, but are paid actors.

“It’s unclear who or where the payments are coming from.”

How glad Albanese must be for anything which might suggest our nation’s Jew hatred has nothing to do with his anti-Israel rabble-rousing-inciting scum.

How politically useful if he can claim that the people terrifying Jews and firebombing synagogues, cars and even childcare centres “aren’t motivated by an ideology” like Islam, but are just paid by foreigners.

For operational reasons, Kershaw isn’t saying what information he’s got to back up his suggestion that “local criminals” may be paid by foreign players in cryptocurrency to attack Jewish targets here, but it’s not hard to guess who he seems to be talking about.

The opposition speculates it could be Iran, but I doubt the Iran embassy knows how to safely contact and pay local criminals to torch things.

But there are organisations which certainly do, already burning down scores of buildings in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

Middle Eastern crime gangs, especially from Victoria, are fighting over the illegal tobacco trade in a war that’s so far had about 200 shops set on fire, including 131 in Victoria and 14 in Sydney.

Many senior gang figures now live overseas, almost always in Muslim countries.

It’s a guess why they might now be burning Jewish targets. To pose as Muslim heroes? Please protectors overseas?

Or have they been recruited by some country to create havoc here?

In fact, Britain’s MI5 last year said Iran had used international drug traffickers and even low-level crooks for 20 plots targeting people in Britain.

Investigators in Germany and France last September said Iranian agents used European drug traffickers to spy on Jews in France and Germany.

Like I said, Kershaw won’t comment, but however glad Albanese of this theory, he’s a fool if he thinks it saves him.

“Overseas actors” haven’t bashed Jews in our streets, screamed abuse at Jews outside synagogues, chanted “where’s the Jews” outside the Sydney Opera House, preached Jew hatred in mosques, menaced Jewish students at universities, abused Jewish artists at performances and in a thousand different ways made Jews feel persecuted like never before in this country.

Even these “overseas actors” burning synagogues may well be Australians.

And now Albanese doesn’t understand how he’s making it all worse.

He should have known 15 months ago, on the day Hamas slaughtered 1200 Jews, that we’re in a war to defend Western civilisation.

That’s clear just from the protesters NSW police have arrested since that October 7 massacre – almost always Muslims, or Marxists or assorted haters of Australia, Israel and the West.

They’ve arrested 180 of them, 40 for specifically anti-Jewish offences. Jews or supporters of Israel don’t break laws and get arrested in those numbers.

But Albanese wouldn’t see it. Seemingly greedy for votes of Muslims and the hard Left, he betrayed Israel in the United Nations. He urged Israel to stop fighting for its survival. He gave tourism visas to 3000 Palestinians from Gaza.

He kept legitimising the Jew haters by attacking Israel, and now can only tut-tut about how they express that hatred.

He won’t even call out the trick Jew haters use to pretend they’re not really racists.

They say, no, they don’t hate Jews. They just hate Zionists – supporters of Israel, home of half the world’s Jews.

They then shamelessly repeat all the ancient Jew-hating smears, just substituting “Jews” for “Zionists”. Zionists control the world. Zionists control the media. Zionists love blood. Zionists murder babies.

What a failure Albanese has been.

Since Albanese is quoting the AFP, here’s former AFP Detective Superintendent David Craig, who summed up bluntly this week.

“I’ve served under six different PMs in the AFP, a lot of my time in counter terrorism, I’ve never seen such a spineless response to hatred and un-Australian behaviour by a PM.”

With voice wavering and lip quivering, you can see it’s all becoming a bit much for Albo. The latest garbage about foreign actors is just that. Complete arrogance to suggest Australians will swallow it.
Is it too much to dream that he will lose his seat in the upcoming election?

Of course he can. It’s deliberate – one of Communisms main strategies for fomenting yet another crisis is to divide a nation into political groups. And that’s precisely what this pile of shit is doing – creating a Nation of Tribes so he can set them against each other.

‘Two-tier’ Keir ‘GASLIGHTS’ Britain after ‘HIDING’ truth about Southport: ‘He CAN’T be trusted!’

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0MvQ0EwGLI
From the coments:

Starmer had ALREADY JUDGED the rioters and influenced the judged BEFORE they went to court. Not only did he brand them “FAR RIGHT THUGS” but he also said they should have the highest penalties. A straught directive from No 10 Downing street to the sitting Magistrates.

If that isn’t jeopardising a trial when the Prime Minister categorises the accused AND dictates “severest sentences” then I don’t know where we are.

One man so convicted killed himself in Prison directly as a result of Starmer’s interference in the justice system. .His crime was making some statements which are supposed to be allowed under “Free speech” law.

And when the Ministry of Truth says “Fact check: TRUE”, will the court say “Yes sir”, or will they stand up for themselves and say “Wrong: it is the court that decides matters of fact and law, and we also decide on what is the appropriate penalty.”

Old Joe reached over and grabbed Melania’s waste with hand and then moved over next to her body. Jill was standing right next to him.

Suspect From Afghanistan Arrested After Knife Attack Leaves a Child and a Man Dead, Two Others Injured

The suspect reportedly followed two teachers and five children who had stepped out of their daycare center for a stroll in the nearby park.”

Just watched an ash blonde from Pommy Sky fact checking Trump. Everything old is new again.

Snittily telling us it’s going to be another four years of “government by Truth Social”. Bzzzzzt. Didn’t exist until he was dumped from Twotter years ago.

She took particular exception to his comment “she’s not very good at her job” re the priestess. So now she’s a dodgy theologian as well as a dodgy historian.

I happen to agree with Trump. Her job is to shepherd the flock and preach the Gospel. She had an opportunity to do that and she squibbed it, settling instead for a diatribe on social justice. She swapped out the delightful, invigorating words of life for a grumble that any old activist could have delivered.

Apparently Trump has sent a message to Putin as a preliminary to a “deal” to end the war. He mentioned some punitive measures that could possibly be applied. Apparently the US doesn’t import much from Russia so that won’t work. The point that Mz. Negotiator missed is the will to start the wheels of peace rolling.

We’re only a couple of days in and the commentariat are already dripping hatred.

UK PM Blob Johnson had a party during lockdown, tried to hide it, was caught out and the mainstream MSM and left went for his jugular and forced him to step down in 2022.

Current UK PM, adulterer Fuhrer Sturmer (and all round Saville fan) is intimately involved in the cover up of a shocking crime where three little girls were hacked to death by a Welsh Christian choir boy who also, at the same time, attempted to hack to death eight other little girls and two adults. The MSM and the left? Silence. They run cover for their man and party, they don’t even try to hide their partisan spruiking!

Blob Johnson was and is a hypocrite of the first order, a nauseating individual who squandered an electoral opportunity that is likely never to come the way of the Conservative party again. I loathe the man but I just can’t help notice the different ‘standards’ applied to Johnson v Creepy Sturmer.

The MSM must be destroyed completely.

They already have been destroyed. No-one takes them seriously. Stop worrying about them.

In fact lefties all cry about the bias of the media against them. We don’t need to do the same. Al those who need to know that Starmer is a wrong ‘un already know it. That is why Labour will go into oblivion again at the next election.

Boris was the one who made sure that the leave campaign won the Brexit vote. he also got brexit through when all the others had failed. Two great achievements, which went along with his brilliant stint as mayor of London merit a place in the history books.

The real problem in Britian as it was in the 1970s in the Blob. Britain needs a new Thatcher. Hard right wing policies, with conservative social aims and a masssacre of liberal ideas are the only way out.

A wonderful lady from Quambatook was murdered this week and her body burnt and dumped in an old gravel pit.
Our friends come from there and say she was one of those community people who volunteered for everything and kept the small town ticking along.
The news doesn’t tell you the killer was off his chump and ended up in Quambatook because of mental illness. Country towns are seen as good spots to house these type of people.
The town is heartbroken and angry at the same time.

President Trump Takes First Step to Overturn Joe Biden’s Abortion Agenda
Among its first acts in office, the Trump-Vance administration closed a federal government website opened by the Biden administration to promote abortion-on-demand at taxpayers’ expense. Users noted the website ReproductiveRights.gov had gone offline on Monday afternoon, shortly after Chief Justice John Roberts swore in Donald Trump as the 47th president of the United States.
“Reproductive health care, including access to birth control and safe and legal abortion care, is an essential part of your health and well-being,” the moribund website claimed. It also erroneously insisted the abortion pill, mifepristone, “is safe and effective when used as directed,” although mifepristone produced 35 emergency room visits for every 100 abortions in 2015.

Grain markets are grossly undervalued and this is bad news for future food prices.
Producers are currently wearing the massive cost blowouts in energy pricing as governments try to manipulate the retail sector into price control.
In 1983 wheat was valued at $10 a bag, that’s $120 a tonne. Today it is $314 at site in our area. In 1983 you could get a Holden one tonner for $6,500 as compared with $50-60,000 today. Somethings got to give as most farms are surviving off the equity created by the boom in land prices over the last decade.
We can only imagine the effects of the subsidised renewable sector on production as they compete for land for mines, quarries and electrical infrastructure.
Government intervention is worse than any bushfire, flood or drought.

Of the Blak Caucus-led Sydney protest, the socialist Green Left newspaper states on its website: “Join us to honour our survival, demand justice, and fight for the liberation of all First Nations.”
“January 26 marks the beginning of colonisation on our lands, leading to the violent dispossession of our ancestors and the continued oppression of our people today. The injustices we face are stark and ongoing.
“We are over-policed and under-resourced. Our people are incarcerated at rates 14 times higher than non-Indigenous Australians, and systemic racism continues to deny us access to housing, healthcare, and opportunities,”
It goes on: “Changing the date will not fix anything – however this is the first and very necessary step towards abolishing Australia Day and the true reckoning that this country needs to have with the injustices that continue to cause suffering today.
“It is important in this election year to join these protests honouring survival, resistance and justice.”

Meanwhile the dickhead miners and farmboys who get drunk and misbehave are usually unrepresented as the cost of lawyers are not paid by the state. Sometimes they are represented by the ALS folk but not always.

“…systemic racism continues…”

Systemic, is it?
Because as far as I can see, there are only 3 ways there could be systemic racism:
1) there are laws that are racist. In fact there are, but these ALL advantage aboriginals over all others;
2) rules, rulings, and regulations. Again, racists ones exist, but they ALL advantage aboriginals over others;
3) social advantage. There is NONE for racism against aboriginals, only social advantage for racism IN FAVOUR of aboriginals.
So the ONLY “systemic racism” I see, is for the BENEFIT of aboriginals.
Happy for anyone to show me otherwise.

NASA Will Remember Its Fallen Heroes on January 23 (22 Jan)

The Apollo 1 fire on the launchpad at Kennedy Space Center, which claimed the lives of astronauts Gus Grissom, Ed White, and Roger Chaffee and threatened to derail the Apollo program before it got off the ground, took place on Jan. 27, 1967.

The space shuttle Challenger exploded just over a minute after launch on Jan. 28, 1986, claiming the lives of all seven crew members on board. That mission commanded a lot of attention because it included the first “teacher in space,” Christa McAuliffe. Finally, the space shuttle Columbia broke apart on reentry on Feb. 1, 2003, and all seven crew members lost their lives.

Space is hard. And you’d have to say that manned space missions on those five days from 27 Jan and 1 Feb are jinxed. The amazing thing is despite a very dangerous profession we haven’t had any fatalities since 2003, even though two NASA astronauts are still stuck in space after their capsule failed. Elon is due to give them ride home in March.

From the Daily Telegraph…

Lidia Thorpe “shouldn’t be in the Senate”, Peter Dutton says, after the independent accused him of being “racist” and “violent”.

Senator Thorpe made the remarks in an appearance on a podcast earlier this week.

“Dutton is a racist. Dutton is a violent person,” she said, responding to a question about the Opposition Leader’s “Trumpian tactics”.

“Dutton used to be a Queensland police officer who caused damage to a lot of blackfellas on the street, you know, wheeling his power around the streets.”

Mr Dutton on Thursday said the remarks were “absurd”.

“Obviously, just absurd statements, but she’s a publicity seeker,” he told Sydney-based 2GB.

“She shouldn’t be in the Senate. She’s not stable enough to be a member of the Australian parliament, and I think people recognise that through her actions and her model is to attract the attention of the lunatic left, and she does that.”

I believe Peter Dutton should take legal action against Thorpe. Peter Dutton is not a racist. These endless adolescent smears and lies from the left can no longer go unchallenged. You cannot go around calling people ‘racists’ or ‘Nazis’ or ‘violent’ without incurring consequences, just ask John Pesutto. Moira Deeming was 100% right to pursue Pesutto for that ‘Nazi’ smear and Peter Dutton must now pursue Thorpe and demand an apology.

This goes to the heart of what I’ve often said on these pages, that for too long the right have ignored the defamatory smears and lies of the left. This must stop.

But killing little girls, children or even innocent adults?

Makes no sense to me.

They’ve been told, by the people they trust, that these children are a danger to them and will grow up to be a danger to their Cult. So kill them they will, AND they will feel virtuous about it as well.
It must be a huge dopamine rush for these people. And don’t forget the paedophilic aspect of the slaughter – why little girls?
I bet these Jihadis doing this sort of thrillkilling would be tumescent.

The Mail has a piece, with photos, about the WA home invasion where the invader ended up dead. The home owner was not charged, rightly so.
Reading the piece, I reckon the dumb scrote ended being stabbed with his own machete.
Police only state that there was a struggle during which the scrote was fatally injured. Not one word about whether the home owner was able to grab something to use as a weapon, not one word about what actually caused the scrote’s injuries.

The proud Rorter Rorter mother of the scrote is mouthing the usual “we won’t rest until there is justice for poor, insert name here”.

The particular street is a cul de sac with mid range housing, with a lot of mine workers in the area. If the scrote entered a home intending to cause havoc, he succeeded.

National Indigenous Times, on the death of TYrone Smith.

Advocate Gerry Georgatos said systemic neglect, including a lack of post-custody support for people trying to re-integrate into society, has left young people like Mr Smith vulnerable.
“We are losing lives because deaths in custody and post-custody deaths have become a pattern,” Mr Georgatos said.
“There’s no post-custody assistance. If we’re not going to support these kids, we’re leaving them behind. Children today are being born with less opportunity than ever before.
“Tyrone should still be with us.”

Mr Georgatos highlighted broader systemic issues he says contributed to Mr Smith’s death, including the poverty and neglect that disproportionately impact First Nations communities.
“Sixty percent of First Nations people in this state live below the poverty line, and in some regions, it’s three out of four,” he said.
The family is calling for a thorough investigation into the events leading Mr Smith’s death.
“We need the truth,” Ms O’Loughlin said.
“Why did this happen? Was there excessive force?”
Mr Georgatos echoed the call for transparency, urging authorities to provide answers promptly.
“These questions need to be answered, and they need to be answered as fast as possible in every way permissible with the family,” he said.

I understand the fellow was 20 years old, hardly a “kid.”

The family is calling for a thorough investigation into the events leading Mr Smith’s death.

It begins with “He broke into an occupied home armed with a machete…”, a story that rarely ends well.

As to systemic issues, there may well be inadequate support in the state youth justice system. No doubt the coroner will address that. But let’s consider the flip side…Was the fellow on the dole? Was he looking for a job as required? Was he seeking training towards that end? Was he trying to help himself? A few clicks on the web suggests that there is plenty of support available in Kalgoorlie-Boulder for indigenous youth seeking a job.

Was fetal alcohol syndrome a factor? (not an excuse, but an explainer).

These are the questions to ask before you point the accusatory finger at the criminal justice system.

Intervention is required to disrupt the familiar patterns of dysfunction, else there is little hope for improvement.

As one of the deNIalisTs, I feel it only fair to point out that the hilarity was not necessarily directed at the assertion that the gupta truckies were pooing off dollies – nor even that they were (allegedly) cutting holes in the floors of cabs to enable mobile poos.

It wasn’t even that poo was trodden in outside the roadhouse.

It was a) that the poo was immediately identified as human (in the dark), b) that it was Indian poo, c) that it squirted all the way up the trodder’s jeans, and d) that the jeans were said to have been removed and thrown out the window while the trodder was driving a truck.

Most of all, the hilarity was caused by the tremendous lack of sympathy for the trodder – despite an obvious intention to obtain same – and that this particular magnum opus did not incite Teh PeopLe to Rise Up! in some unspecified manner.

Killer Arrested: 28-Year-Old Afghan Migrant Enamullah O Identified as Killer of 2-Yr-Old and 41-Yr-Old Man – Stabbed the Child to Death at a Nursery

An Afghan migrant who is living in an asylum center was arrested on Wednesday for stabbing to death a two-year-old child and 41-year-old man on a playground. Two others were injured in the knife attack.

28-year-old, Enamullah O, had a history of violent attacks, and was in Germany despite having an order to leave the country.

I dunno how TheirABC tracks these promises and on what criteria:

Election Promise Tracker | RMIT ABC Fact Check – ABC News

27 promises delivered by Albo, 6 stalled and 4 broken.

But is this accurate? One broken promise was to “reverse Coalitions indexation payments to ABC and SBS” but a delivered promise is to appropriate these two organisations in five-year blocs. If you’re appropriating them out to five years you’re probably going beyond simple indexation?

I don’t think Trump (or as others have suggested) “failed” here (not saying you said so)… but the “angry Bishop” who got stuck into DJT is head of the Episcopalian Church in Washington, so she would’ve had veto powers over any Episcopalian reverend who wanted to do the rite at St John’s.

The “parish priest” (if you will) at St John’s, Rev. Robert W. Fisher, is a guy who has said he wants Episcopalians to return to more traditional roots (whatever that means for “US Anglicans”).

Not saying he’s a Trump man but that seems out-of-step with his Bishop!!!

Oh dear oh dear oh dear…

Cats, we must hang our heads in shame, sackcloth and ashes, flagellating our backs at the doors of the hay truck stop.

I have an eyewitness account, from a properly constituted truckie of an unspeakable event we derided poor St Ruth for.

He claims a number of Indian truck drivers are squatting on the dolly behind the cab at truck stops and letting fly with last weeks vindaloo.

Rather than walking off into the scrub with a dunny roll and a picture magazine like the proper Aussies do.

I commented at the time about this.

Not sure of the nationality of persons involved but I narrowly avoided doing the same thing as Struth at the same parking bay (opposite the Hay roadhouses).
Stepping down off my header after pulling in for a break while “walking” it down to Vic. Thankfully it was daylight.

People who question all this don’t get around the country much.

I’ve noticed something when watching a bit of faux news (like CNN, PBS and other “affiliated workers of the world” channels). It is good to “monitor the enemy” from time to time:

Have you noticed now that there is a lot wrong in America that these are reporting on? All of a sudden these channels are reporting on food prices, egg shortages, energy costs, pharma costs…

Like, these problems only arrived on Monday.

Indeed. Not to mention said correlations are rather tenuous in the first place, because mental processes cannot be measured directly, and must therefore be inferred from behaviour or self-report.

No need for self-report. Electrode placement can stimulate very precise behavior. Penfield’s famous experiments on humans. There are thousands of studies demonstrating direct impact on behaviors through discrete brain stimulation.

Pakistan: Muslims have trapped 450 people in fake blasphemy cases in recent years, with help from officials

LAHORE, Pakistan (Christian Daily International–Morning Star News) – An Islamist gang trapped more than 450 people in false blasphemy charges in recent years in Pakistan, including five who were tortured death in custody, according to human rights lawyers.

The “blasphemy business group” has devastated numerous families with the collusion of federal investigators, said attorneys Usman Warraich, Imaan Hazir-Mazari and Rana Abdul Hameed at a press conference on Friday (Jan. 10) in the federal capital of Islamabad. As frequent targets of blasphemy accusations, Christians in Pakistan are at serious risk of being victimized by the group.

Precisely the answer you would expect ChatGPT would give to a leading question.

Most human beings familiar with the subject would offer qualifications to the claim.

For example, it might have mentioned that the reason why some philosophers still maintain a non-physical aspect to cognition is the quandary of the British neurosurgeon Lorber’s findings of those with unresolved hydrocephalus(very thin neocortex), or that even with the relevant reading some people continue to believe in non-physical aspect, or the mystery of terminal lucidity.

a) even though it’s currently a communist regime in bed with the Chinese, Australia’s alliance with the US is rock solid and bi-partisan.
b) there will be a change of government in a few months to the SFLs who are much more MAGA-aligned and will appoint a new US ambassador.

That is reductionism, not Occam’s razor.

There is still a great deal of human cognition, affect, and behaviour that remains unexplained (and potentially unexplainable) by science.

Why would you expect the immaterial to have mass?

Everyday on multiple science channels there are all manner of unexplained phenomena. It is a cliche that the brain is the most complex thing in the known universe so it is to be expected that there is still so much to discover. Nearly all scientific theories cannot explain all the relevant phenonmena. Your argument ignores those facts and seeks to defend a position by reference to unexplained phenomena.

I don’t deny the possibility because I’ve long puzzled over the information paradox, I’ve had two very powerful prophetic dreams, and like most people had experiences that defy analysis. But on the weight of available evidence, and very often that is all we have to go on, I’d have to choose the brain creates consciousness. Moreover any discussion of consciousness which doesn’t include material about how it is lost, gained, and altered, is far too limited. For example, most cases of becoming unconscious can be reduced to loss of cerebral wide neural synchrony.

The example I use is that information can be encoded in any number of physical formats hence information might be non-physical. I suggested to a mathematical Platonist that to maintain his position there must be a realm where mathematics exists. Being a materialist he twisted and turned on that one.

IIRC, that’s from a chat of a couple of old time philosophers and one said that everything is an illusion, and said “That rock is an illusion. I can ignore it.”
The other said something like “Refute my argument, you old fart!”
Whereupon the older of the two kicked the rock, exclaiming “I refute it thus!”

Here goes the narrative – shot down in flames

BREAKING: Son of the assassinated Lebanese-Australian mob leader and convicted murderer Mahmoud “Mick” Hawi one of nine people charged with anti-Semitic firebombing attacks across Sydney.

Sydney Morning Herald: ”Adam Hawi was last week charged over his alleged role in the lead-up to an incident in Woollahra in November, when a ute was torched, multiple cars damaged and Matt Moran’s Chiswick restaurant graffitied with anti-Israel messages.

Police say the vandalism caused close to $100,000 worth of damage.

Detectives will allege that Hawi’s car was used in the attack and that he refused to tell detectives who was driving it.

Mohammed Farhat, 20, and Thomas Stojanovski, 19, faced court this week over the incident, each charged with 14 counts of destroying or damaging property, along with trespassing offences and offensive behaviour charges.

Hawi’s father, Mahmood “Mick” Hawi, the former national president of the Comancheros, was assassinated as he left Rockdale’s Fitness First in 2018. That murder was the first in a long series of fatal public place shootings in attempts to control the city’s lucrative drug trade.”

I witnessed something profound that day. I’m still not sure what that was. Here’s what I wrote at the time: What did I see? What was this? What should we call this? I’m puzzling over this because I’ve never seen anything like it. And I’m struggling to find a precedent either in history or in myth. “Miracle” isn’t quite appropriate. There’s a plausible explanation. He turned his head at the exact right time and the bullet grazed his ear. But it was more than mere luck. It’s too implausible to be serendipitous. Trump dodged a literal bullet, and America dodged a proverbial bullet. I don’t want to contemplate the violence and chaos would have inevitably erupted…. Thankfully (as the Wise Man said) providence protects idiots, children, drunks, and the United States of America…

……..

I saw it about an hour after it happened. I was organizing fishing gear in the garage. I’d left my phone in the house. Heard my phone ding. Saw I had texts. Saw that Trump had been shot. I logged into X and found the video. This is what I saw: I saw Trump giving a speech. I’ve seen clips of his rallies, but have never watched an entire speech. It’s Angry Boomer Standup. He has some good one liners, but f.ck it gets old… So he’s giving a speech. Then the pops of gunfire. He reaches for his ear. And then he hits the ground. The Secret Service rushes in. There’s panic in the crowd. You can hear screams. And then they get him to his feet. But it wasn’t Donald Trump that stood up. He was something else. He wrestled with God. He’d been transformed. He was something else. The man who put his fist in the air and said “fight” wasn’t the same man who hit the ground. And it didn’t take decades, or weeks, or a night. It happened in less than 90 seconds. We have the video. I’ve never seen anything like it. I can’t imagine any human alive today has seen anything like it. These things don’t happen. They simply don’t happen. Ancient peoples would have recognized this. Their myths prepared them for such things. But these things don’t happen in the modern world. They just don’t happen. But I saw it. I saw it happen. And I can’t believe it.

I’m watching Kenny and Neilson talking about the handover a few days ago and comparing it to 2021. Unfavourably. Film of the Bidens standing on the White House steps welcoming the Trumps.

In 2021, Trump was nowhere to be found. He and his family had decamped to Florida. Churls.

Here’s the thing and it’s about truthfulness and sincerity. Why would you welcome someone who has been behind the burning down of the country you love, the destruction of cities, the murder of citizens, the mobilisation of rioters and criminals across the country who saw fit to intimidate and harass? Why would you welcome someone who had been given a rails run by the media while you had been maligned? And then there’s the evidence of vote tampering on an industrial scale.

Do you put on a false smile and tell them they’re lovely? Or do you shake the dust from your shoes and leave them to it?

I prefer honesty. Even if it looks ungracious to the slick and smooth.

There is a thing called ‘healing’. If Trump and Melania had been ungracious and unaccepting of the thing that they had won via the collective will of the people in that imperfect thing we call ‘democracy’, they would have been the lesser people for it. The country is seriously riven and the old organs of informing people had done nothing but create havoc as people turned to the newer modes of informing themselves. There needed to be some sense of continuity and stability. Trump did the right thing and so did his gracious wife. Legitimacy needs to be seen and taken. Trump did that.

I’ve never seen anything like it. I can’t imagine any human alive today has seen anything like it.

It is not that extraordinary. On YT there are many examples of people escaping death through sheer luck.

It was raining, I was riding to work, tap the brakes and down I went. Turned around just in time to see a truck bearing down on my head. Two more seconds and another organ donor.

b) there will be a change of government in a few months to the SFLs who are much more MAGA-aligned and will appoint a new US ambassador.

Good take.
Why have a stink now with Australia when there are things of real consequence going on?
Wait a few months and see what plays out.

Gateway Pundit has been mentioning the J6 guys who Trump didn’t pardon.
From what I have read so far, Trump is not being well advised on these cases, and it gives ammunition (can I say that?) to the TDS mob if they dare to use it.
He should pardon all of them, unless there is a very good reason not to.
Not including a former Green Beret serviceman isn’t a good look. And he’s not the only one.

Not a great look.

Although there’s every chance he got pardoned but had other things hanging over his head and that’s why they pinged him…

Hmmm and from I what I read I am correct.

However this would appear (to me anyway) to be a DoJ stuff up, not a Trump one.

Just because you get a pardon for Jan 6 doesn’t get you out of jail for other offences!!! So, he should have received his pardon for Jan 6 and stayed in jail awaiting trial for his other convictions.

Damn assed fake news make you read every little detail to make sure you come away with the message “Trump releases violent criminal”

What, like Hunter Biden?

I’m with Kurt Schlichter: every J6 prisoner should be pardoned. And every other try on, like this one, should be pardoned too. And the arsehole who shot Ashli Babbit needs to go down for murder.

Biden broke 240 years of American precedent on both sides: he was the first to prosecute his direct political opponent and the first the pardon his own personal family. The damage this has done to the credibility of the American system will echo through the centuries.

TRUMP JUST KILLED NIH AND FEDERAL RESEARCH GRANTS TO HARVARD AND OTHER UNIVERSITIES WITH DEI PROGRAMS
-DEI will be removed from all contracts
-Contractors (universities) must “certify that it does not operate any programs promoting DEI”
-Agency heads (NIH) must take measures to deter DEI at “institutions of higher education with endowments over 1 billion dollars”
-Attorney Genera will issue guidance to end DEI at “institutions of higher education that receive Federal grants” in 120 days.

Says he has evidence PROVING Nancy Pelosi is responsible for Jan 6, “I have it in my possession right now. Just got out of my storage unit that shows that President Trump is right. Nancy Pelosi is directly responsible for what happened on January 6th. — It’s not a conspiracy theory. It’s fact”

A big downside to Biden’s pardons:

If called to testify in any legal proceedings, those pardoned may not be able to invoke the right not to incriminate themselves (i.e. “plead the fifth”).

And that includes before congressional inquiries.

This Auschwitz memorial situation is pretty bizarre.

A lot of the western “leaders” and representatives have been straight out antisemitic since Oct 7th.
And they are going to be sitting there with fake solemn looks on their faces?

Will anyone from the former Soviet Union be represented?
Will Lavrov be given a pass to attend.
Pretty weird if there is a big Auschwitz commemoration and they are told to stay home.
Hopefully at the very least they are getting together a group from the baltic states to represent and not Ukraine.
They don’t want the situation that Canada ran into where they thought they had a Ukrainian hero presented to their parliament who turned out to be a bona fide Nazi.

Father in law, who fought the chinese communists as ground crew for F105 Starfighters (aside: the Germans and Americans considered the Starfighter a widow maker as so many crashed. Not so the Taiwanese who flew them with an almost impeccable record in part thanks to ground crew like my wife’s father) died the day before Christmas and lies in the mansion next door. The gate of the family compound is open so people can pay respect and next week my wife must stay with the body through the night on two occasions, as there must be someone with him at all times over the 49 days before the burial.
The family is quiet and no one will go out or wear bright clothes during this visit, although my daughter enjoyed a trip to the shops with her cousins last night.
This picture is in memory of a great man who helped fight off invasion from the communist scourge.
