They should extend the referendum to England, I think the Poms would like to kick the Scotts out of the Union.

BloJo should include repeal of the Act of Union of 1707 in his policy platform for the next election. Watch Sturgeon flap around like a fish out of water. Se wants bribes to stay, not to be kicked out.

Did he meet M’s dad obviously after the war?

No idea JC. I don’t know MR’s mum and dad, only he and his motorcycle (and his red leathers). He’s also a Yank, not a long time Oz resident though he live here for a time. My grandad was a colleague of Oliphant, who probably convinced him why Oz was better than the other places.

I’ve done plenty of work in Ni/Co and the like. But I only really got into my grandad’s field after I left the employ of your friend (who would’ve been my friend except I was about three levels lower, maybe four, ie at bug slime stratum). I didn’t even know I had until one day I came across a textbook he wrote. When I told my mum she burst into tears. Amazing how genes work.

It’s the Story of the Century, and the Media Yawn

From American Thinker

Never before in human history has a global pandemic resulted in the dismemberment of first-world economies, highly divisive universal vaccine and mask mandates, education-stunting school shutdowns, and the isolation of entire societies to the point of extreme mental health damage.

Throughout all this, the media have remained incurious as to how this historic misery happened.

When you reach 81 as I have, you realise that you will most probably not ever be 90yrs. So nothing can frighten me into receiving the ‘vaccine’.
I will remain in isolation from my family except from seeing them through the windows of my home, and daily receiving their phone calls.
Contactless deliveries of groceries and grog is an added blessing.

Gab,
sorry to hear about your worry about work and the vaccination; Mark Latham put out a long discussion paper for people concerned about getting pressured to have the jab, which is worth a read.

I’ve just tried to find it but I can’t remember where I filed it; I’ll keep looking.

I’ve previously noted that if the other half received pressure from his employer he was going to ask for a copy of their ‘rona policy including reference to workers compensation entitlements covering any adverse reactions. Perhaps, that course may assist you?

He also emailed his union, which has come back with confirmation that it won’t support mandatory vaccinations in the sector or by individual employers.

Finally, he received a verbal confirmation from his employer that they won’t be going down that path.

I put up some stuff yesterday re anti-discrimination legislation (NSW & Federally), which makes it illegal to discriminate infectious disease status. Today, Mater put up the Safe Work Australia detail about vaccinations – all worth a read if you haven’t done so.

Am thinking of you, prayers and best regards,
BBS

Is that the Novavax, Bruce?

Yes Delta, but different from the previously ordered ampules. I saw the article in the news earlier. Here’s the Mail version:

Trial of Covid-19 vaccine AND flu jab combined to begin in Australia on 640 healthy residents (9 Sep)

The trial is actually something I might almost like to participate in, given the Novavax Covid vaccine design. But I doubt I’d be admitted since I’ve already had this years fluvax.

I will remain in isolation from my family except from seeing them through the windows of my home, and daily receiving their phone calls.
Contactless deliveries of groceries and grog is an added blessing.
My concerns of this day are for my children and grandchildren.

Mine too. But my concern is that my grandkids will never enjoy the freedoms that I took for granted; never lead a life like I had, that they will accept this “new way” as the norm. So I will see them, and hold them, and hug them, take photos of them for memories so I don’t lose one second of my time with them.

I’m only 71 and I hope I reach 81. So with just that time left, I am increasingly furious at the government stealing a significant part of what’s left of my life from me. I want my freedom back. That includes freedom to travel; freedom to criticise; freedom to associate; freedom to speak my mind; freedom to move within my own country untracked and without the necessity to submit to log-ins and facial recognition; freedom to choose to have or not have injections without fear of “retribution” … just freedom as I once knew it.

While I do lament this, of course, I also realise it’s total bullshit to ensure people go on getting ‘vaccinated.’ There is no legal authority anywhere to imprison millions because they won’t have a medical procedure.

Are you sure about that, when our Supreme Court Judges have already wiped their collectivist arses on our Constitution?
They will just ‘find’ a new right for the government to lock us up ‘for our own good.’
This is becoming quite dangerous for us, and the pressure relief valve on the pressure cooker is under stress like never before.

An employee who had chosen not to be vaccinated for a rather trivial reason became infected with Covid. Because he had gone to work while infected, 20 staff with whom he came into contact had to self-isolate for 10 days, disrupting important work. Another colleague became infected as well.

How do they know he gave it to the 20 staff?
Was he patient zero from Wuhan?
And couldn’t they work from home while self isolating?
Is the chap admitting that WFH is disruptive?
Also, in the UK, a lot businesses now don’t have to self isolate if you return a negative test.
So considering the errors & reasoning, you can put the whole article in the bin.
If you hadn’t already.

Cassie, my bigest fear at this time is that, although I have the highest medical fund insurance, should I need medical assistance at any time in the future I will be embarrassed by not having been ‘vaccinated’. Since I’ve been 100% correct about everything since February 2020 (except Hillsong happy clappers delivering Revelation to us – a small oversight), I’ll unveil my prediction for the camps they’re urgently building all over the country.

Once they bash the people into 85% compliance, after the immense effort and state terrorism and violence they unleash to achieve that, do you really think they’re going to let a recaltriant 15% just swan about the place, unvaccinated and free as a bird like nothing happened?

Not.a.chance.

‘Outbreaks’ will continue to happen because the vaccines are worthless after 4 months, and eventually after an increasingly punitive and sustained campaign against them, unvaccinated people will be routinely whisked out of their homes and suburbs to ‘isolate’ in the middle of nowhere for weeks and months at a time (for large families). Given a little while to concentrate on their bad behaviour, the government will relish punishing them, the now jabbed to the eyeballs mob will demand and cheer it on.

As time goes on the corrosive effect of the anti-normal people attitude on the police and security forces, which is already evident, will start to see abuse and minor atrocities committed against unvaccinated groups of people in the camps. People will languish there for extended periods, a beating here and there by the guards will happen, medical staff will start being a little vicious in their interactions with them, poking and prodding. They’ll start operating, in the minds of the mob as defacto prison camps for those rotten anti-vaxxers.

Then what.

P, I don’t think it’s about being embarrassed. Health organisations understand informed consent. You’ve paid your premium and you have the right, should it be necessary, to make a claim on the fund. There are all sorts of laws that make it illegal to discriminate and one of which is on health grounds. No need to worry; see you doctor(s) when you need to.

But as part of the ruling was the insurer had to refund the premiums that the punter had paid, about 25 years worth, plus interest.

Apply that to a private health insurer that refuses to pay for an unvaccinated punter.

Ruling elites have for ever known that to solidify their rule over the population, the people must engage in physical rituals showing who has power over who.

Verbally swearing an oath.
Kissing the ring.
Putting your head in the hands of your lord.

But the thing about those things, is they weren’t literally altering your body. You were capitulating to them, and showing it, so the power dynamic would assert itself in your mind, but you could always carry a thought in a part of your mind that you were free to take it back, or escape and be free if you really had to. No loss.

Permanently physically altering the body, tattoos, disfigurement has usually been reserved for slaves. No taking that back. What’s done is done, for life. This year, in ten years, in fifty years you’ll always know what you did that to yourself for these people in 2021.

Occasionally my kids, although living in distant suburbs, would seek his advice, as he had cared for them throughout their childhood. And later especially because he had cared for their father in his last days on this earth.

Things are different now. Those doctors employed by medical centres appear to me to dictate.
Over 46yrs with one doctor, as a RN I was used to questioning and disagreeing with him at times. He would always give me at my request a L/- to a specialist. We were both then satisfied.

As long as there is coercion, I refuse to take it.

What I want to know is why the coercion? The medical arguments are not even specious. The political arguments in terms of forcing compliance to establish who has the power seem to make the politicians the recipients of authority, but they’ve ceded that to CMOs, and seem to be obeying UN great reset orders. To whom, exactly, are we bowing down?

My mother was born 1/4/1914 and would tell me how the man with the horse and cart would call out every day past their home in Merewether West ‘bring out your dead’.
She later trained for 4yrs as RN at Wallsent District Mining Hospital 1932 to 1936 and was an advocate of vaccines which were not available in her day and for those she had nursed in the Isolation Ward of the said hospital, many of whom had died.

I’m sure that no coercion would have been needed back in 1918/1919.

James Delingpole is going mad. I’ve listened to his podcast for years however this year he seems to be losing it. Many of his guests (not all) are really foil hat wearing maddies and James appears to be taking the same track. Like a lot of mad people there is some truth in much of what they say but they then draw conclusions that only a lunatic would seriously consider. His latest guest is the worst so far, she appears to think that we’re ruled by lizard men or some alternative to homo sapiens, that Ayres Rock has been used as a flying saucer base for thousands of years, and much more. I don’t know if I can continue to take him seriously.

Justified anger, JC. Probably because we’ve already experienced some very discombobulating conversations over vaccination.

I doubt whether vaxxed here are particularly angry, but I can assure you that out in the wider world they are. My few interactions over past weeks have been along the lines of, “why don’t these stupid people just get the vaccine?” and variations. These people are Christians, and angry ones – they aren’t interested in my ethical reservations. I’m finding that to be the saddest aspect of all.

From the NSW presser yesterday, my takeaway is that I won’t be permitted to:

– attend church
– lead ladies’ Bible study either in my own home or on church property
– spend Christmas with my family

And many…many Christians will be a-okay with that.

A brief thought on the phrase ‘Build Back Better’, which was first coined by someone somewhere, then got spewed up by Biden, and then Boris Johnson used it as well as various lunatics in this wide brown land.

In Dilbert’s world, where people have interminable meetings and focus groups and steering committees and ‘leadership’ seminars, corporate phrases go in and out of fashion. Much like the normal public, a) various things go in and out of vogue, and b) people striving to be cool will pinch and/or otherwise use other people’s stuff in order to be in with the cool kids.

Option b) above even has a phrase of its own. Lockstep, as in our glorious National Cabinet’s assertion that ‘the States and Territories are in lockstep on this issue.’

There have been previous conversations here ‘among the group (TM)’ apropos of taking the piss out of the abovementioned seminars. Playing corporate bingo, and so on.

Going out of fashion, although it used to be all the rage is ‘in this space (TM)’. ‘George has completed a significant body of work in this space.’ Words and phrases like unpack, drill down, cohort, machinery of government, meeting offline and so on were all de rigeur at one point, because as soon as someone though of them they were immediately adopted by everyone else because it sounded cool and different to what everyone else had said up to that point.

Until, of course, its repeated use by everyone made a phrase corny to the point where it was eventually discarded. I have a list of such frippery in an office I occasionally venture into.

The people responsible for the cancerous spread of these phrases are invariably mindless drones bereft of any capacity for independent thought. In the cases of our glorious leaders, both here and overseas, these mindless drones are known as ‘speechwriters’.

I am inclined to believe that the use of ‘Build Back Better’ is not, as advertised by some, a hiding-in-plain-sight testing the water initiative by the lizard people emerging through the Earth’s crust to rule us all like kings.

Rather, it is the latest corporate phrase incorporated by lazy speechwriters looking for a cheap hook.

I cannot remember every where I have been. Do not remember what day I went to what place at what time etc.

With this QR coding stuff the government will have better more precise records of my movements that I will. All managed by bureaucrats and technicians and people I do not know, all fallible, but whose statements will be taken as unimpeachable truth because there is a department, a database and a process, all of which can be trusted 100%.

If they say I was somewhere, saw something, heard something, whatever, then I must accept it or try to reconstruct a contrary case. They will have evidence. I will not.

My bank has my financial records to which I have access. My doctor has my medical records. I must rely on the government for car registrations, drivers licenses and so on, but they are government issued anyway and can be corroborated from financial records, and there are patterns to the dates.

I can see QR coding being used in court cases and a person unable to prove their innocence because a government record says so.

Quite so……it just goes to my saying that why vote Labor lite…may as well vote for the real thing….Labor. As for Matthew Guy in Victoria….just watch him and the Liberals do nothing to differentiate themselves from Andrews. The only person in Victoria who offers any real alternative to Andrews and Labor is David Limbrick.

The best we can hope for after next year’s election is the following…

1. The complete and utter annihilation of the Liberal party of Australia.
2. A senate full of cross-benchers from Palmer’s new party, Lib Dems and PHON which will make life very difficult for the next Labor government.

As for Palmer, I don’t like or trust him…….I remember how he behaved from 2013 to 2016. However I do like Craig Kelly and I understand why Kelly has gone with Palmer….Palmer has lots of money to splash around. I treally hope Kelly does well, both in his seat of Hughes and across Australia. The problem is that Palmer is a grub. I suspect what will happen in the electorate of Hughes is that Kelly will lose but he’ll split the vote and the Liberals will lose what was once a fairly safe Liberal seat (thanks to Kelly) to Labor. And it will serve the Liberals right.

Others have said it here….and I’ll say it again….I don’t like this country anymore.

Here’s an example of just how effete the Victorian Liberals are. David Southwick, who is Jewish, is the Liberal member for Caulfield North which I’m pretty sure encompasses Ripponlea where ultra Orthodox members of the Jewish community attempted the other night to meet to celebrate Rosh Hashanah…a festival which happens to be the second most holy one in Judaism. We know what ensued thanks to a dibber dobber and the usual MSM hysteria and so we now have the situation where Victorian police are barring entry to synagogues and roaming the streets of Ripponlea like a bad stench….aka Nazi Germany (and I don’t use that comparison lightly).

Let’s leave aside the fact that these Jews ignored the edicts about congregating in groups….fair enough and they should not have but I understand their anger and frustration…..but…but you can bet your bottom dollar that such edicts would have been conveniently ignored (and are being ignored) by police and Victorian authorities if those involved had been members of a certain religious group that likes to behead and blow up people….or those people had been progressives meeting to protest about the death of a lowlife in an American city……so I ask….where is the outrage from Southwick and the Victorian Liberals? Why aren’t they speaking up about how a certain religious minority is being targeted for wholesale opprobrium whilst others are let off or ignored. Why isn’t Southwick protesting the double standards? Where is Guy….he could have hit the airwaves yesterday saying that whilst the religious Jews did violate the edict and that was wrong, the Victorian government is engaging in double standards and ignoring other violators. But instead there’s silence.

In short, this (epidemiology) is yet another front in the war with cultural Marxism.

In its defense, epidemiology can be genuinely scientific and extremely useful as an applied science. Medical epidemiology informs a lot of medical practice, demonstrating what is soundly-based therapy and what is merely hopefulness or at worst, iatrogenic nonsense. It is when epidemiology, especially large-scale population epidemiology, falls into the hands of political ideologues that troubles arise. The banner of ‘public health’ is raised and political issues come to the fore. It is responses to epidemiological findings that cause the problems not the findings themselves (in most cases).

For instance, responding to sourced cholera epidemics by better water sanitation is a public good; similarly, reducing particulate air pollution may improve many lung complaints. However, even then politics comes into it – does a government built a high temperature incinerator in your backyard or not? Also political is how to respond to population epidemiological findings. Demonstrating that there is a deleterous health impact from cigarette smoking or obesity for example can lead (if allowed) to some very restrictive intrusions on freedom, and raise questions of individual responsibility vs the power of the State and the right of the individual to follow their own inclinations rather than health-imposed laws.

Where epidemiology gets particularly murky is exactly where climate change does – when modelling is used to predict future reality, for gigo is often the case there. Modelling is a useful part of science, akin in some senses to ‘fitting’ elements in a complex pattern into statistical associations (Anova/Ancova), but this sort of work is very subject to statistical pitfalls and design flaws too. Data bashing and predictive modelling are complex area where specialists argue (as true scientists should) and some in power pushing barrows may lay spurious claim to authority.

Additionally, the politicisation of science due to ideological predilictions re what ‘should’ happen is well-known to produce confirmation bias in some observational scientific work. That happens too in epidemiology. The empirical facts become ‘constructed’ so that they are no longer factual in a genuinely scientific sense but become made-up facts. In climate change politicisation, a hockey-stick may still appear in IPCC policy documents as a ‘fact’ even though it has been comprehensively debunked in science. In epidemiological models, viruses can transmit regardless of any unfactored human behavioural change. Go figure. But don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater of Marxism that can surround it. Epidemiology is here to stay, and so it should.

Heres proof our polliemuppets are the mental equivalent of spastic colons after an all you can eat buffet at the Calcutta hot death chilli and gluten outlet.

Rapid antigen testing on WA border may see truck drivers isolate in regional towns

Reading the headline “óh thats fine”…

But WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Principal Health Officer Helen Van Gessel said up to 10 per cent of rapid antigen test results could be false positives.

Dr Van Gessel said the second test was likely to take about four hours and said drivers would likely isolate and be swabbed in their trucks until the result came back.

So effectively 10% of truck drivers doing interstate runs will be delayed 4 hours.
But wait, there is also the resting log books etc to be done, waiting 4 hours (or more) will ensure the need for another rest stop wouldnt it.

But Im sure the TWU is right on it…..

I was wondering how the Oxford University ivermectin trials were progressing. Dismayed, but not surprised, to find the trials are testing the efficacy of a three-day course of ivermectin.

The Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care (FLCCC) Alliance recommends a minimum five-day course.

So the study is rigged from the outset.

But Obeid’s barrister, April Francis, submitted that the judge couldn’t be satisfied her client knew of the conspiracy’s developments after getting Macdonald to seek “inside information” about available coal reserves.

“The possibility of a conspirator not being apprised of an ongoing conspiracy where other conspirators remain in it is something of a rare factual circumstance,” she said on Thursday.

Bold.
But as full of shit as his co-conspirator in their attempt to dodge jail.

That offence, related to Circular Quay leases linked to his family’s business while Obeid was a NSW minister, led to three years behind bars and two on parole.

Meanwhile, Macdonald’s barrister submitted that his client suffered serious health issues such as chronic constipation and prior treatments including high doses of laxatives that caused incontinence, making his time if jailed more onerous

With respect, Lizzie – you’ve missed my point.

The modelling epidemiologists undertake is merely a tool in the service of the philosophical assumptions they have taken on board at some point.

From the horse’s mouth:

“Epidemiology is the method used to find the causes of health outcomes and diseases in populations. In epidemiology, the patient is the community and individuals are viewed collectively. By definition, epidemiology is the study (scientific, systematic, and data-driven) of the distribution (frequency, pattern) and determinants (causes, risk factors) of health-related states and events (not just diseases) in specified populations (neighborhood, school, city, state, country, global). It is also the application of this study to the control of health problems.

Principles of Epidemiology, 3rd Edition.

Any system whereby individuals are viewed collectively and the “control of health problems” is a euphemism for the control of populations is alien to the Western liberal (in the proper sense) tradition.

Roger, the ‘control’ of health problems is something that all societies do in one way or another. It similar in a sense to the ‘control’ of economics. Complex societies act on population data, it does not necessarily mean the demise of consideration of individuals and their rights in that process.

It’s a bit of a stretch to damn a whole field of scientific endeavour and human understanding of disease processes by the inept choice of words in a textbook. It is the nature of the control exercised, which may include doing nothing at all (not always a good choice btw), that is at issue. Marxism has pervaded public health just as it has pervaded many other fields of comprehension – including economics, history, education, political philosophy etc. Babies and bathwaters, my warning.

The ACLU (of all people!) was right in 2008.

The prescriptions of the epidemiologists – underwritten by draconian public health Acts passed by legislatures that no longer understand or believe in the principles of the Western tradition in its Anglo-American iteration-will lead to a permanent suspension of liberty.

Precisely; and you’ve evidently missed the places where I wrote along the lines of “whatever epidemiology once was, it is that no more.”

The whole field needs to be reevaluated and challenged.

It has become the sort of hubristical scientific enterprise that C. S. Lewis envisaged in ‘That Hideous Strength.’

Are the liberals talking to or taking cues from the biden administration about this stuff?

I would not be surprised.

It is a way of skirting responsibility. When something goes wrong they will be able to point and say “Instead of re-inventing the wheel we took on board the fruits of American experience and research.”

In the universe of mediocrities our politicians as the greyest smudges in the grey firmament.

Even politicians from Zimbabwe would have some small fire about them to make their way through their corrupt and moribund element.

Our leaders have not a creative bone among them. Not even an ossicle.

At different times the same guy can be a butcher, a husband, a father, a mate at the pub etc. He brings different traits to each of these and they do not inadvertently overlap. He doesn’t stand around the shop with a beer telling stories and he does not come home swinging a cleaver in the bedroom.

Our politicians are one thing. Their own appetites for self-aggrandisement. In every thing they do that is all they are. As an MP talking to a constituent, as a minister of a portfolio, as a guy at the pub, and I expect even in their family lives. (Family is part of their brand.)

Some people call this singular focus ‘drive’. It is not really. It’s a grievous flaw that disqualifies them from the human race.

Here’s one theory KD:
If you haven’t been paying attention to Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum, it’s time to get familiar if we’re going to have any hope of saving America. Joe Biden’s campaign slogan, Build Back Better, is often used by partners of the WEF and the slogan dates back to 2014 and the Clinton Foundation. (USA Inquirer)

Likewise you shouldn’t ask an epidemiologist whether lockdown and mandatory vaccinations are necessary.

I don’t know if I can continue to take him seriously.
https://delingpole.podbean.com/e/catherine-austin/

It’s an “out” for a lot of serious people with ‘decent connections’, who’ve crossed the line as far as ‘talking out of school’ and upsetting other ‘decent connections’, you know, ‘You can go mad or go dead.’, type thing.

Not saying that’s the case with Delingpole (I to stopped listening a while ago), but I did notice him cutting very close to the bone on issues that were wrongly (as we’ve all discovered lately), considered fruit loop territory, just a blink away and that now’s got everyone going, “My God, How Did We Get Here!”.

Safer to become the next crazy David Ikce (and make a fortune doing it), than to continue to piss off your family friends & old school chums in the WHO, WEF et-bloody-cetera.

In the 1910’s eugenics walked into anglo nations under the protective cover of ‘public health’ too.

Supported by the same people and same institutions and ‘science(tm)’. For the ‘good’ of society, based on models and predictions of societal collapse and death and mayhem without it – inherently requiring suspension of law and liberty for the benefit of ‘society’. Producing laws and regulations that had the state intervene and medically terrorise, poke, prod, surveil and control the working class by the elite and their captured state. The courts would not help as it was a class war and anyway, ‘public health’ eugenics curious judges said.

Same energy.
