Minor parties.
PHON. In my view they are fast becoming the Greens of the right. Lots of posturing for the benefit of the base and just a whiff of being in it for the AEC funding.
UAP. Need to be sure any candidate I vote for won’t just be a Fat Clive finger puppet. And sending me a text saying they are not Labor or Liberal doesn’t quite cut it. What are you. I am not interested in what you aren’t.
Lib Dems. Looking the most likely for me at the moment.

Biden White House intended on rolling out booster shots in 3 days. Today, FDA overwhelmingly voted to shut that down. 1st clear revolt from bureaucracy during this admin. Sparked by 2 top officials retiring & denouncing boosters in Lancet paper. Interesting developments for sure. https://twitter.com/JordanSchachtel

Remember last year, when the bigmouth imbecile was predicting a stock-market crash sometime in the latter third of the year? I forget exactly which month and date. I think he was also predicting the actual date it would crash. He was making the prediction in the first half of the year. From almost the point he was predicting a crash, the market took off turning into a serious bull market.
Hell for him is he knowing the bulk of people know he’s an irrelevant moron.

In Australia, there are some guys who use astrology (yes astrology) to predict market moves.
They cover up the astrology shit saying they are technical traders.

There is something to trend following and momentum, which means one uses charts. I pay about US$500bucks a year for a algo that is quite decent in predicting short term high and lows in stocks. It’s primarily based on mean reversion.

For trading the Aussie dollar against the US, I use the simple 65 hour moving average on a hourly chart. Works okay, but it’s not the only thing I use.

Combine that with a nation that almost entirely locked down… We’re fucked. One of the great pioneers of consumer electronics, Sir Clive Sinclair, brown bread:

Aged 22, he formed Sinclair Radionics, his first company, making mail-order radio kits, including the smallest transistor radio in the world. He really came to prominence in 1973 with the world´s first pocket calculator, before turning his sights and passions into transitioning the world of computers to the confines of the home.

He became a much-beloved figure in Britain and around the world, for his successes – as well as occasional failures. Tributes poured in from modern-day equivalents such as Elon Musk as well as countless “normal” people who first got hooked on computers and gaming via one of Sinclair’s inventions.

Sinclair launched his first affordable consumer computer in 1980, which cost less than 100 pounds ($135). The ZX80, which could subsequently be upgraded to the ZX81 with a bit more memory, may not have been sophisticated in today’s terms, but it broke new ground, opening up a world of new opportunities.

“The ZX81 was my introduction to computing and I loved it!,” the science broadcaster Prof. Brian Cox said in a tweet.

In 1982 came the iconic ZX Spectrum, which was certainly a step-change from its predecessors and which would not look too out of place today. Through the 1980s, it took its place in an increasingly crowded marketplace against the likes of the Commodore 64, the first Apple computers as well as those from Atari.

The Spectrum went on to become Britain´s best-selling computer. Not only did it help Sinclair become a multimillionaire, it made him a household name at a time the British economy was undergoing a radical transformation under then prime minister, Margaret Thatcher. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1983.

Now, there was a life worth living. I dips me lid, and RIP Sir Clive.

Again, thanks JMH & areff for the Topher links.

I’d love to see other Aussies on the ground reporting what’s actually happening, but again, I have, “no internet”, when I go looking for it, which sadly tells me a lot about many.

BTW, for those who missed it; not only were the numbers impressive (despite the biggest Police crack down against Aussies), but the whole marching through residential areas where the still too timid to, ‘Stand up to Dan’, live, could see they are not alone and that their fellow countrymen taking personal risks for all, were not ratbags & low lives.

I hope that someone who can gather a good lot of live feeds can do a dedicated post to today’s peaceful marches for freedom in Melbourne. What I saw was very heartening.

Wow. Daily Mail has footage of protesters in what looks like a wedge formation ramming the cop lines and breaking through. All liberally OC sprayed but it didn’t seem to stop them. Victorians look like they have had enough and I’d guess the protesters have been getting training. Wonder if like the BLM riots they are now co-ordinating their actions. Watching Topher Field’s coverage of the Freedom March in Melbourne, I agree with him that the agitators were Dan Andrews’ Black Shirts. The only ‘violent’ confrontation from Freedom marchers seemed to be when one of the large barricades was stormed and pepper spray deployed. There may have been other scuffles but as Topher indicated, Victorians are now at their wit’s end – and rightfully so.

Topher estimated the Melbourne crowd he was with to be around 4,000 to 5,000, which was expected to be down on previous rally numbers because of the Black Shirts humongous deployment today and public transport into the city locked down. Apparently, Vic-stasi managed to split the crowd earlier and we don’t know what that crowd weighed in at.

I think the Andrews Goon Squads may have learnt something from today’s events – but I am not over-optimistic.

At the Melbourne March the pigs were trying to box us in from the front and sides, in between side streets.

This a dangerous strategy as it’s in this scenario that stampedes and crushes occur.

It was a clear intimidatory strategy, especially since there was plenty of open street available for the marchers to walk until they have up and it petered out.

The pigs were aiming for a confrontation, no doubt.

How to Predict (Almost) Everything

Well, my title is a little cheeky but I think it’s fair to say that if physicists and engineers actually knew what quantised inertia predicts, that they just can’t, then they’d start work on it tomorrow. So here is a sort of abridged summary:

QI predicts the recently-observed cosmic acceleration perfectly without needing any infusions of invented dark energy. QI explains why the universe is flat (PE=KE) and always has been, so gets rid of the need to imagine our particular era is ‘special’. QI predicts the value of the gravity constant G from the cosmic mass and scale and speed of light. This means that physics has lost a free parameter and has become simpler for the first time since 1905. QI predicts galaxy rotation, and specifically why the oddities always begin at a particular acceleration. MoND has to input this acceleration, QI does not – it predicts it itself. QI further predicts the observed variation of this critical acceleration with cosmic time. QI predicts the low-l CMB anomaly in which it looks like the longest waves in the cosmos are smoothed out, and the CMB peaks as well, but not their heights. It predicts a relation between the area of something and its mass. QI predicts the first, and a few others of the quantised redshifts seen by Halton Arp – the others may appear when we look at other electron transitions. It shows why the Magellanic clouds appear to have broken free of the Milky Way but have left a ‘stream’ behind them that curves around the galaxy implying they are still bound. QI predicts the motion of wide binary stars which show identical anomalies to galaxies when they are far apart, and orbit below the critical acceleration. Dark matter can’t explain them because it can’t be packed into the small scales of binaries and still predict large galaxies. You can’t have it both ways, so dark matter can now hit the road. QI predicts the very beautiful shape of Hoag’s object which is almost like a poster child for the theory. It predicts the orbit of our neighbour Proxima Centauri, which is orbiting far too fast, just like those wide binaries and the larger galaxies. QI predicts the bending of light by the Sun, just as general relativity does, but it is successful with galaxies too, which GR is not. QI predicts relativistic jets in galaxies and so gets rid of the contrived & complex, and conveniently invisible, black hole explanation. QI predicts the Casimir effect, the emdrive, Mach effect thrusters and the asymmetric and symmetric capacitor thrusters that half the planet thinks are hoaxes and half think are the saviours of mankind. It predicts some aspects of the Podkletnov gravity shielding effects, which are much maligned but were published in good journals and have not yet been falsified. QI predicts the test results from my lab in Spain who observed thrust from a laser loop, shielded on one side. If this is confirmed then we become an interstellar species, which would be timely! QI predicts the photons seen coming out of the Dynamical Casimir Effect. It provides an explanation for cold fusion, or LENR if you prefer, and for the excess light seen coming out of nanocavities. A new source of energy from the vacuum? Similarly it predicts sonoluminescence. QI provides a new way to understand pair production and it predicts the ratio between the proton and electron mass, and the Planck mass. QI provides the first ever intuitive explanation for inertia which has always been brushed under the carpet in physics.

To finish, QI is conceptually challenging but technically very simple & can be used to predict a massive range of phenomena. I am writing a book to detail all this which might be called ‘The Empiricist Strikes Back’ or ‘How to Predict (Almost) Everything’. Now I should say that of course I do not necessarily believe every anomaly listed here, but I think this list, which has taken me 15 years to present, implies something!

Interesting, given that the WA state Liberal party is on life support and is reduced to…how many MPs? Is it one, two or three MPs? Anyway, you’d reckon this would give the dying Liberal party a perfect opportunity to show some spine, make a stand, formulate some policies and actually oppose the dictates of the maniac clown currently ruling WA. But no, you always rely on the Liberals to be timid. That they do well.

I don’t know if that was the same bit I saw of Topher Field’s coverage but after they foolishly went down a ‘canyon’ (wouldn’t have happened with people who still watched Westerns), some hot heads tried to start bluing with police who blocked them.
The marchers then turned around and went back to the entrance of the ‘canyon’, then after a short, quiet lull, pushed through.
Some got arrested by police but most made it out.
Some wanted to go back for the arrested but cool heads prevailed.
No point your countrymen sacrificing themselves for your freedom, only to have you give it up without need.

According to the ABC, Lismore has been locked down again for one(?) case. Interesting that up there a large percentage of the residences have septic tanks (40% I think the report said). This means that the sewerage testing is not as robust as the authorities would prefer to determine whether the chunk virus is present.

With the lack of sewerage testing, how to deduce whether there’s an outbreak there? You’d think that if this was a really serious illness for most of the population there would be tens if not hundreds of cases visiting the quack, calling ambulances or turning up at the local hospital. But no reports of any of that happening.

Hey Rabz, did you get the keyboard problem fixed?

I had something like once where I apparently accidently activated the alpha numeric function on my main keyboard – letters became numbers. I didn’t even know it existed. Anyway, I have always found typing your question into GoogleSatan quite good – cyberspace is full of nerds just dying show their chops and fix your problem.

I have a permanent problem on my keyboard where @ is on the double quote key and vice versa. I suppose it is fixable somehow, but quickly adapted to it.

Shatterz, your story about your youth reminded me of one of my best friends when I was in my late teens/early 20s. He was bright, well liked, good education bla bla but seemed determined to drink himself to death. We lived in the same share house for a while, and every morning around nine he would give me a lift to the ANU and then adjourn to the Union Bar. He consumed an orange juice and read the paper while waiting for it to open at 10 am, when he started drinking beer and continued until the place closed at midnight. Partying on afterwards was common. He paid for his habit by selling weed.

This went on for about five years that I know of, then the aches and pains* tempted him into using smack as well, and he ended up in hospital with pancreatitis and liver disease and nearly died. He dried out after that but his health was wrecked and he died very young of liver cancer.

You had a narrow escape, and obviously have a good constitution! Not to mention a strong will to live, which I suspect is crucial.

Lots of people tried to ‘save’ my friend, but he didn’t want to be saved. I never did. He was loyal and a great pal to me, and I took him as he was.

With the lack of sewerage testing, how to deduce whether there’s an outbreak there? You’d think that if this was a really serious illness for most of the population there would be tens if not hundreds of cases visiting the quack, calling ambulances or turning up at the local hospital. But no reports of any of that happening.

If it was really serious, the homeless would all be dead.

Sandgropers getting into it now:

Perth crowd joins anti-lockdown, anti-vaccine mandate protests
By Cameron Myles

A big crowd has gathered in Perth’s Forrest Place, joining anti-lockdown protests across the country.

Bearing signs with slogans such as “Coercion is not consent”, the protesters railed against COVID-19 lockdowns in other states, the coronavirus vaccine, and vaccine mandates.

While Perth is not in lockdown and COVID-19 restrictions in Western Australia are minimal – aside from closed borders with several eastern states – the crowd voiced support for other protests around the country on Saturday, such as those in New South Wales and Victoria, which have seen clashes with police as officers attempt to stymie the gatherings.

Among the anti-vaccine talking points and numerous red ensign Australian flags waving in the chilly wind of an overcast day were conspiracy theory tropes urging people to do their own “research”, and signs pouring scorn on the mainstream media’s reporting of the coronavirus pandemic.

Support for political parties was also thin on the ground, save for a few signs championing Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party – whose MP Craig Kelly was recently chastised by the country’s medical regulator over his use of TGA extracts in unsolicited text messages – and there was the telltale orange of a One Nation backer among the crowd, accompanied by a large cutout of party leader Pauline Hanson.

The most vitriol, however, was reserved for vaccine mandates…

2021 has been eye opening.
I guess I’m one of the more “negative” and cynical bastards on here.
I never have held my fellows in any great esteem.
But who would have thought there were this many stooges and arse lickers in the general population?
After all, the culture up until now seemed to have discouraged such.
Thee aren’t any Hollywood blockbuster movies where the hero is some reptilian asshole dobbing his fellow citizens into the many versions of a dystopian totalitarian future writers have conceived.
Maybe the Hollywood script writers got it wrong all the way through. They should have rewritten Schindler’s List with Schindler as the villiain. Darth Vader was a hero. The lord of the Rings will need complete rewriting to make it work. All those sleazy media types in films like The Running Man need rehabilitation.

Vader.

A prodigious talent.
Horribly burned in an industrial accident.
Subject to compulsory medical procedures.
Biggest comeback since Lazarus.
Learnt new skills.
Disowned and rejected by his own son, and then – when mortally wounded – killed the man who would have otherwise ended that same son’s life there and then.

Stand, Vader. Receive the ovation due you.

Damien Hardwick has taken his relationship with his Richmond Footy Club lover to the next level, with the pair making a multimillion-dollar investment in their future.

Hardwick and his partner, Alexandra Crow, who manages Stakeholder Engagement at Richmond, have spent $2.3m on a terrace home in the upmarket suburb of Elwood.

Richmond coach Brooke Cotchin was unavailable for comment.

No. He completely failed to rid his galaxy of those irritating cretins Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker. Not to mention R2D2 and his buddy.

There’s a joke in there somewhere about Andrews making his own ‘downfall’ video.

And he will have a downfall; they always do.

Hitler’s 1000 year reich only lasted, what…12 years.

Mind you, he did open up a two front war, which was pretty silly.

But these types always over-reach.

With the latest biden atrocities – 7 children among 10 dead due to afghan drone strike which was done hastily just to show biden was doing something, 10s of thousands of children unaccompanied crossing border heading towards sex exploitation – I am reappraising my view that biden and prominent members of his swamp should be hung and have been exploring more creative execution methods. My conclusion is that death by elephant should be applied. The elephant is a noble animal and lends virtue to the deed; elephants are also heavy and the symbol of the GOP which has been as light as a miniature rabbit in its dealings and should be motivated by the use of a real elephant.

Mitchell lost it on the day Covid 19 was announced as being prevalent in Australia.

Yes. Something lingering, with boiling oil in it, I fancy. Something of that sort. I think boiling oil occurs in it, but I’m not sure. I know it’s something humorous, but lingering, with either boiling oil or melted lead.

Possums can also cause some serious damage to your property by chewing on electrical wiring creating a fire hazard and an expensive problem to fix. Their fur could also be teeming with smaller pests such as ticks and fleas which they could introduce into your home. These smaller pests will cause trouble to both you and your pet.
