Listen, Paul, we’ve had 18 months of “context and nuance” for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We’ve got “context and nuance” coming out our fucking ears. Don’t fucking talk to me about “context”. Unlike the Ultimo and Southbank elite, we are living it.

Just read this bullshit from some fucktard:

Beijing rations aircon and lifts after power cut chaos
By DIDI TANG
THE TIMES
10:41AM SEPTEMBER 28, 2021
Cities in China have introduced severe measures to ration electricity as the country battles with
surging demand while trying to reduce its dependence on coal.
Power cuts have caused chaos in the northeast, the coldest part of the country, with traffic lights and
lifts in high-rises shut down for up to 12 hours. Officials in Heilongjiang province said that they
would have to prioritise power for critical infrastructure.
In the southern province of Guangdong the authorities urged people not to use lifts unless they
were going beyond the third floor, and decreed that air conditioning should not be used if the
temperature was less than 26C. The province put factories on a schedule for power use in which
some have to shut down to allow others to operate.
In the eastern provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, factories were also forced to close production
lines.
Several cities have warned of scheduled power cuts, with the water company in Jilin telling residents
to expect regular blackouts and water cut-offs until March. It said that power cuts and restrictions
could become “irregular, unplanned and without notice”.
The widespread cuts have been attributed to rapidly rising demand as the economy recovers from
the pandemic, combined with measures to tackle climate change and a shortage of thermal coal
used to generate electricity.
A trade row between Canberra and Beijing led to China boycotting coal from Australia, which is
one of the largest thermal coal exporters.
Provincial governors are also under increasing pressure to cut carbon emissions, having failed to
comply with earlier party directives to reduce fossil fuel use. Faced with hard deadlines to meet
emission reduction goals, “many governments have no choice but resort to blackouts to cope with
the problem,” Liu Xiaozhong, a commentator, wrote in The Paper, a state-run news website.
The Global Times, a party-run newspaper, tried to assure the public that the country had ample
power capacity but said that there must be “better co-ordination” as the country tries to be more
energy-efficient. “We are to bid goodbye to the era where we can generate power and use power as
we please,” the newspaper said in an editorial.
Determined to wean itself off dirty energy, Beijing has closed small coalmines. Its refusal to buy
Australian coal has exacerbated the problem.
In the northeast region of Ningxia, carbon-intensive
companies have been ordered to shut down or limit production for a month. Similar measures have
been reported in other provinces. With coal costs high, power plants have been reluctant to
increase production because they risk greater losses when they cannot easily raise electricity prices.

Beijing wants to force energy intensive factories out of business through restrictions intended to
make the country more energy-efficient.

“The pains of the energy reform are rushing towards us, and more problems will surface,” wrote a
financial blogger called Jinjiao.
“The manufacturing sector, power companies and local governments are all at the crossroads of
changes.”

We’re all in for a hell of a winter bug season once restrictions a lifted and the borders open to every mutated virus that the world has to offer.

Absolutely. I haven’t had a winter cold since 2019.

If we get a nasty flu in from overseas, it will make covid look like the sniffles.

The last Australian to (officially) die from influenza did so in June 2020. The flu has been “replaced” by covid, which turns out to be no more dangerous than flu.

Australia has been torn apart because of a lie.

@ Cohenite-

That’s nothing to do with ‘energy efficiency,’ that’s just the domestic Coal shortage biting. And another example of the best spin-doctoring apparatus in the world demonstrating its skills

When you won’t buy directly from Australia cos punish the long-noses for their refusal to submit, then go to a third party that just bought the Australian coal you actually wanted (and desperately need) and buy it at Market Rate plus a significant markup, this is what you get.

Between their own citizens starving and freezing, industry shutting down and Chinese and Mongolian coal being pretty shit energy-wise and structurally*, amd npt available in the quantities needed, this was inevitable.

* Check out this colliery video. It is a few years old, and the locomotives are being run on the fines that are no use to anyone else, but if the fuel is doing that, it’s not the best of stuff to run industry on…

Malcolm Turnbull refuses to rule out voting or campaigning against Liberals.

Richard Ferguson
Reporter
@RichAFerguson

Malcolm Turnbull has reserved his right to campaign for independents running against the Coalition at the next federal election, and has refused to say if he will vote for the Liberals.

The former Liberal prime minister told the National Press Club on Wednesday that he would “reserve his rights” to campaign against sitting government MPs or endorsed Coalition candidates, and he would keep his personal vote a secret.

Mr Turnbull in his NPC speech said Scott Morrison’s decision to cancel a $90 billion submarine deal with France was “blundering and deceitful” and accused Mr Morrison of hurting the nation’s relations with Europe.

The skewering speech came after months of other criticisms about the Prime Minister’s handling of climate change, the Covid-19 vaccine rollout, and the controversies around former minister Christian Porter.

Mr Turnbull refused to say on Wednesday that he would back the Liberal Party at the next election despite remaining a member of the party.

“It has been a long habit but it is also a secret ballot. That will be a matter between me and the ballot box,” he told the NPC on Wednesday.

“I haven‘t made a decision about (campaigning for independents). I remain a member of the Liberal Party. The independent I endorsed in the upper Hunter by-election was running against a National Party candidate and despite the indignation of Mr Barilaro, there is nothing in the Liberal Party rules that says you‘ve got to support the National Party.

“I will wait and see. I reserve my rights as they would say.”

Mr Turnbull made headlines back in May when he backed independent candidate Kirsty O‘Connell in the Upper Hunter state parliament by-election over ultimately successful Nationals candidate Dave Layzell.

On Wednesday, Mr Turnbull also refused to endorse Anthony Albanese and the Labor Party instead.

In his speech on Wednesday, Mr Turnbull also revealed he has spoken to French president Emmanuel Macron since Australian-French relations soured over the cancellation of the Naval Group submarine deal in favour of UK and US nuclear submarines.

The former prime minister focused on Mr Morrison’s personal handling of the diplomatic controversy.

“Scott Morrison deliberately and elaborately set out to persuade the French that their deal was on foot and proceeding until he knew he had an alternative deal, where upon he dumped the French and his deceitful conduct was exposed,” Mr Turnbull told the NPC.

“I have spoken to Emmanuel Macron. He is a friend and I have stayed in touch with him since I left office.

“What Morrison has done, and he can blabber and people can spin it as much as they like, but this was a big double cross, deceitful conduct on any view, acting in bad faith.”

I’ve just had a telephone conversation with a girl from work whom I haven’t seen since June. Back in July, she attended the Sydney protest…she lives in the western suburbs and her father is a plumber. Immediately after the protest she foolishly uploaded pictures onto Instragam.. and a “friend” dobbed her in to the plod. The plod knocked on her door the following day and she’s been fined $1,000. I let her know, discreetly, that I knew about her attendance and I told her I supported what she did and I wish I’d also been at the protest. I did tell her that uploading such stuff onto social media is not the wisest thing to do. We then had a fascinating discussion…she revealed how she’s lost friends since attending the protest. She then said to me that we have a right to protest and I agreed. I told her that I’ve joined the Liberal Democrats after years of voting Liberal…and she said that she and her parents, who’d long voted Liberal, have joined Palmer’s party. The Liberal party, state and federal, are in trouble…and all I can say is bring it on.

Tax payer funded ABC Media Watch, a legacy mainstream media dinosaur, is the latest to be triggered by the work of independent journalists in Australia. They have accused me (and others) of not providing balance and context. Their major gripe seems to be with independent journalists sharing non-stop unedited livestream reports (sometimes for hours), with the cardinal sin of allowing people at the centre of these moments a platform to speak.

It would appear that MSM would rather viewers watch a heavily edited 30 second snippet with their version of “balance & context” on the nightly news, allowing only them the ability to fully control the narrative with selective editing.

In my opinion, the media diversity that independent journalists provide is crucial to ensuring viewers have access to multiple perspectives. This in turn provides balance when they view other sources of information and news. Although some of my work cannot always provide the entire context, it goes much further than showing snippets on the news interjected with the opinions of experts and authorities that did not even witness the events first hand.

These types of lame attacks only provide further confirmation to me that that I’m on the right path.

Apparently Miley thinks leaving billions of dollars worth of equipment to the enemy is a “logistical success”.

And hes right, if he was fighting for the Taliban.

US Afghanistan withdrawal a ‘logistical success but strategic failure’, Milley says

And this classic from the “delay any withdrawal to stymie Trump” man.

“It would be an incredible act of political defiance for a commissioned officer to just resign because my advice is not taken,” he said, staring straight at Cotton. “This country doesn’t want generals figuring out what orders we’re going to accept and do or not. That’s not our job.”

On the question of his actions on nuclear launch procedures, Milley said he had a responsibility to insert himself into those procedures in order to be able to perform his role to advise the president properly.

By law I am not in the chain of command and I know that,” he said. “However, by presidential directive, and [defence department] instruction, I am in the chain of communication to fulfil my legal statutory role as the president’s primary military adviser.”

Australian Police Commissioner (NSW) Refuses to Enforce Vaccine Passport Mandate

Excellent news, if true. I’ve been seriously confused about this whole vaccine passport issue. My understanding is that the government has admitted it cannot mandate vaccinations and is pressuring business to do it for them. In that case, how CAN they enforce a passport on businesses which choose not to?

One paragraph in this item seems to confirm this position –

Unlike in some countries, businesses won’t face fines if they allow unvaccinated people to enter, rendering the whole scheme rather pointless.

If this is true, then the whole thing is just a huge bluff which must be called.

By the way, there’s a picture of Chant in there which should be prepared for and might be hard to forget. Evil personified.

““I have spoken to Emmanuel Macron. He is a friend and I have stayed in touch with him since I left office.”

Of course Macron remains a friend to Malcolm Turnbull. Malcolm Turnbull, the most miserable ghost of all, the man who had and has contempt for ordinary Australians, the man who couldn’t be bothered campaigning in marginal electorates, the man who clocked off in the early afternoon during an election campaign so that he could retire back to his mansion in Point Piper, the man the luvvies and elites loved but would never vote for. How Turdbull loved being PM, he loved hobnobbing with the likes of May, Merkel and Macron (not that ghastly Trump) yet this stupid, shallow, vain, vindictive, nasty and miserable man failed to understand that in a democracy, in order to hobnob with May, Merkel and Macron, he first had to hobnob with the great unwashed out in marginal electorates to get their votes and he just couldn’t do that because he despised ordinary Australians.

also do a high intensity/low intensity ‘weights plus exercise’

Perhaps it is a high intensity/low impact regime?

No, it is a movement from short bursts of high intensity work followed by some low intensity work with weights. The high intensity stuff gets your heart rate right up and can be done with either high or low impact, as long as your heart rate climbs sufficiently. The low intensity work brings the heart rate right down again. The aim is to get ‘bursts’ of high then low intensity (mimics the hunter chasing after a rhino or something). This apparently has been shown to be more sucessful for both weight loss and heart health than the usual period of stretch, then go up the curve to a high intensity over a longer period, then slowly down the curve again to finish off with more stretching.

Rather faddish, so I only do the one class, and stick otherwise to dancing, for the joy of it.

Ms Berejiklian revealed that from October 11, residents of aged care homes would be able to receive two fully-vaccinated visitors each day.

However, children under the age of 12, who are not eligible for vaccines, will be excluded.

NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard said he expected that 97.5 per cent of health staff would be vaccinated by tomorrow’s deadline.

He said the remaining 2.5 per cent of people might find themselves out of a job.

“There won’t be a position available for them in New South Wales Health. It is pretty simple,” Mr Hazzard said.

Nick Martin assassination: Neighbours of man who admitted shooting bikie boss recall ‘really nice guy’
Jake DietschThe West Australian
Wed, 29 September 2021 2:33PM

Neighbours of the sniper who today admitted he publicly executed Rebels boss Nick Martin, say they were shocked to learn the “nice guy” was a killer.

Multiple residents said the Waikiki home of the murderer – whose identity has been suppressed – now lies empty.

It is understood a close friend continues to check on the house and has taken care of the killer’s dog.

The man’s girlfriend no longer lives at the home, with several neighbours telling the West she was now in a witness protection program. One neighbour said the killer’s pool was recently cleaned.

The former soldier was arrested in March over the shooting death of Mr Martin at the Kwinana Motorplex. His single, long-range shot also injured former Bandido Ricky Chapman.

State prosecutor Justin Whalley confirmed a charge relating to injuries a five-year-old boy suffered were being dropped.

A neighbour said the sniper was “helpful,” “a really nice guy,” but that he was “full of himself.”

Another neighbour said the guilty plea was “justice taking its course” but that the murderer should be given a Victoria Cross “in hindsight”.

“He killed one of the evil bloody mob,” he said.

“You’ve got to say he was a good shot.”

Another resident on the otherwise unassuming suburban street said locals were “very surprised” when police raided the offender’s home in March.

“He was a great neighbour,” she said.

“He’s a top guy and the street was better off for having him here.”

One’s position on the COVID-19 issue identifies one’s political loyalties, pure and simple. Question the efficacy of the vaccine or the commonsense need for vaccine passports and mask mandates, and in the eyes of Progressive thought leaders and the liberal media, you are just the typical ignorant conservative, displaying a selfish, callous disregard for the safety of society and an unintellectual refusal to acknowledge what Progressives insist are unimpeachable facts.

Yet astonishingly, it is those oh, so tolerant Progressives who favor the draconian government vaccine and mask mandates, while the supposedly anti–civil rights conservatives come down unequivocally on the side of individual freedom and “my body, my choice.” That’s a contradiction that no Progressive even tries to reconcile.

No, not $6 million gifted by Malcolm and hidden but at least $26 million by my calculations. The $6 million is what he thinks he got shafted on, ie the increase in the loaned shares which he now says were undervalued by his now ex buddy.

It would appear that MSM would rather viewers watch a heavily edited 30 second snippet with their version of “balance & context” on the nightly news, allowing only them the ability to fully control the narrative with selective editing.

One of my faves is the disrespecting of the Shrine of Remembrance. The protesters were herded there by the vicsassi … and when going up the hill – they all chanted “Lest We Forget”. Totally different reality than that which the MSM portrays:

[And I suspect that they (MSM) have it all -> Lying moral vacuum scum.]

As I live in Wentworth, this is a clear signal from Turdbull that he will inject money into an “independent” challenge to Dave Sharma and he will campaign against Sharma.

Since David Sharma is actually a Green, I can just imagine who Turdbull would support.

I’ve noticed that the only ads on TV these days are Woolies and betting websites. I blame all the Karen’s who drove food and snack ads off the air.

I find it funny that when I was a kid snack food ads were all over the place yet we were not fat. Now that there are no such ads anywhere kids are fatter than ever.

Spent a few hours at the Australian Artillery and Armour Museum in Cairns today.

On a smaller scale, the Maroochy RSL Sub-Branch Military Museum on the Sunshine Coast is well worth a visit if you are in the area. For a smallish space, there is a decent collection of items, and they also have a quite passable library too. Memorial Avenue, Maroochydore. Gold coin donation entry. The museum is in the back of the sub branch offices, across the road from the pokies.

I wonder if I’ll be let in for a beer anywhere on Rememberance Day? I’ll have 3 generations worth of medals on, replicas of course. My originals have been sent away. The other originals are too precious to go drinking with.
If I get asked for a vaccine passport my response will probably be a Liverpool kiss.

Tax The Rich They Said
https://amgreatness.com/2021/09/28/new-york-socialism-the-poor-subsidize-the-rich/

The history of socialism is the not just a history of oppression, murder, and pillage—it is specifically a history of the poor countryside being extorted by wealthy cities. Paris under the Revolutionary Council couldn’t feed itself, and it didn’t know how to produce anything, so it had to “tax” (steal) what it needed from rural France, which led to the uprising in the Vendée which the government’s monopoly on force allowed them to put down with incredible brutality.

In Soviet Russia, the Bolsheviks discovered that they, too, had no idea how to produce food or wealth. But, like the French revolutionaries, they knew how to steal. Trotsky was commissioned to organize a “food army” the purpose of which was to confiscate the entire farm crops of rural communities and feed the cities. This led to the 1919 peasant revolts in the mid-Volga and the Ukraine, which allowed the Bolsheviks in turn to demonstrate the first-ever use of air-dropped chemical weapons on civilians. But the central party apparatus had a certain expensive lifestyle to maintain, as noted in a 1919 report on the secret police: “Almost all the personnel of the Cheka are heavy cocaine users. They say this helps them deal with the sight of so much blood on a daily basis.”

Socialism in America has been more insidious.

Got the call from the property manager today.
You know we’d managed to get the tenant all the way back up to 70% rent recently.

Alas, The Vic Govt legislation dictates that rent reductions now be commensurate with the loss of turn-over a business has carried.

So the tenant has seen a 55% reduction and therefore the rent will now be 55% of the contract.

Can youse see how Vic Govt is helping small business?

Everybody now gets fucked equally for their own good.

Catching up on some Compound Media shows today, not all are comedy.
This lawyer chap was saying exact legal argument surrounded the Noor chap who shot the Aussie lady & his appeal is the exact pathway Chauvin will use to appeal his case.
Even more interesting, his view was that the charges brought against Noor were always going to be appealed & that a DA with half a brain would know that, ie it was a set up.
Noor does a couple of years in jail.
Then gets let out as the sentence served will be more than the maximum sentence under what he would/could be charged under.
It’s a rort.

What Holmes a Court & Packer should have done with their kids is get them a job at Merrill or Goldmans in New York or London.
Working in a dealing room would have broken them out of the bubble of arse kissers they surrounded themselves with.
And no-one would have given a shit they were a billionaires offspring.

Definitely on my Border* list.

The prospect of tooling about in a Big Cat (or better, maybe even trying to cadge a drive of one) would be a real hoot.

I’ve bounced my way along farm tracks in South Africa in the Crew Commander’s hatch of WW2 Marmon-Herrington Mk3 Armoured Car, chasing after a Sherman. And had great fun.

I’m ready for an upgrade…

Just how accurate are all the “vaccinated” %’s ?

I would expect the “official sources” to pump up these numbers to make it look like “everyone” is getting jabbed.

The numbers been indictably wonky all along. Clearly not a case of some dyslexic-functional illiterate hired under equal opportunity doing the sums.

Earlier today I posted how I had a conversation with a woman, who’s her mid 20’s, about how she attended the Sydney protest and got fined. Along with politics we discussed the MSM…and what was really heartening was how she described the mainstream media as liars and she said she’s stopped watching the MSM. Maybe there is some hope for the younger generation….maybe.

I think that’s exactly what it is.

I’ve said to quite a few people recently — I think the NSW Libs are telling fibs to get the vaccine rate up.

Shows what politicians think of voters, doesn’t it?

I’d be very pissed at vaccine passports.. but I’m dismayed at this deception.
