TheLastRefuge tweets in the last half-hour –
Eleven simple truths, you can fact check, that tell you all of these government COVID rules are not about health.

1) When 99.8% of the people on average recover from this virus, it means this is not about health.

2) When there is virtual zero risk to children and they want to jab age 5 and up children, it means this is not about health.

3) When a jabbed and an unjabbed person can both get and transmit the virus but only the unjabbed loses their job, it means this is not about health.

4) When Americans lose the right to decide what goes into their body, it means this is not about health.

5) When India and other countries reduce its COVID cases and deaths by 90% using Ivermectin cocktail and the US health officials deny its use, it means this is not about health.

6) When doctors are threatened with loss of license for using off label treatments to save lives, it means this is not about health.

7) When more deaths and adverse reactions are reported than ALL vaccines COMBINED over the past 30 years and yet health officials ignore this data, it means this is not about health.

8) When unjabbed people are denied other medical procedures because they simply want to remain unjabbed, it means this is not about health.

9) When early treatment therapeutics were denied and purposely kept from doctors, hospitals and thus billions of people, since March of 2020, leading to millions of unnecessary deaths, it means this is not about health.

10) When many people in Congress including their staff and families, allegedly take Ivermectin, with zero hospitalizations – and yet never speak up about the success or push to allow its use by the very citizens they represent, it means this is not about health.

11) When millions of people who got COVID and recovered and now have Natural Immunity, yet the Health Officials refuse to acknowledge and incorporate this into their policies, it means this is not about health.

Wow! You can still smell the beeswax polish on the tables and the fresh paint.

I decided I’d better take my cardiologist seriously when he said (paraphrasing), “You’re a fat bastid”. Trying to kickstart with a very low (<20 g) carb diet and see if I can get into ketosis. Started last Friday and by the scales this morning I've dropped 2.25 kg. I'll try to keep this up for three weeks (it gets harder as it goes) and then slowly ease some "good" carbs back into the diet. All this Covid crap and the way Australia is heading had me "comfort eating" — just bloody self-indulgent, I know. No more.

So, I understand that we will shortly all have personal QR codes — unique identifiers — embedded in our digital vaccine certificate.

That should make it much easier for scanning before entering shops, public transport, work, hospitals, cinemas, pubs, restaurants, gyms … well, everywhere, really. Obviously taking their lead from Lithuania.

Any guesses as to when this will happen? I have no idea, but a contact via Centrelink tells me they hope to have it up and running before the end of this month.

I’ve been following an almost totally carnivore diet for the last two months. It’s been more for reducing my inflammatory conditions but the weight loss has been a great side effect. Not hungry, no cravings, better sleep, possibly the easiest diet I’ve ever been on…and diets, I’ve done a few.

I’ve still got to get updated blood test results which could be fantastic or a slap in the face from reality. Who knows? I’m treating myself purely as an experiment.

I’d never heard of it until recently chatting with a guy in the US.
He expressed his disappointment at the fact that the girl he’d been seeing was turning out to be “a maskhole, state worshipping Karen”.

Goolag suggests the term is used by both sides. Fascists abuse the free for not wearing masks and free people use it to describe the willing slaves of the state.

In the last month, Lithuania became the first country in Europe to enforce Covid Pass restrictions in all the society. People without a Covid Pass are banned from most public areas: supermarkets, shopping centers, stores, banks, restaurants, cafes, universities, gyms, libraries, repair services, haircuts, and much more.

At entrances to public spaces, people queue in line to have their Pass verified. Guards scan the Pass of each person, sometimes with a handheld scanner, and sometimes with an installed machine. If you have a valid Pass, the light flashes green and beeps. Then you may enter. The Covid Pass is in the form of QR code on phone or on paper. A person without a Covid Pass may not enter any public space. That person is banned from participating in society. And employers suspend you without pay.

Where do you think Victoria is headed?
We already have these vaccine passports in rural Vic. What do you think Morrison’s Digital Identity Bill is all about?

Sign the petitions, flood your MPs with emails, people. Even if it means nothing to them at least you tried!

Not leaving this on the old fred.

We will never get back what it was like before, what little freedoms we had. That’s all gone. We may for a time have what seems to be freedom in small things, but only for a short time.

We have proven to governments that the majority will obey when they use the tools of fear as they have done during this ”pandemic” exercise. Instead of standing up, collectively, against the government’s ”orders” and ”mandates” to have an experimental medical procedure, the majority have capitulated because of ”lockdown”. And no, this is NOT directed at anyone here; the pressure to comply is enormous. Physical, emotional, psychological – enormous pressure. I have seen friends and family hold out for as long as they can …. Look, this is not about whether you have or haven’t; this is about the fear machine the governments have used against us, and readily employed by their media, to bend the population to do their bidding; to bend us to their will.

But there are consequences, as there are for those who have chosen not to comply with an ”order” a ”mandate” for an experimental medical procedure.

The statistics do not add up to a ”pandemic” not by a long shot, but that doesn’t matter apparently. Fear has won and our freedoms are being eroded little by little each day. Look at the Bills they are proposing, the ones Dover has kindly linked to at the right hand side of this site. If 80% get just two little shots, why is the government pushing for an Identity Card, for Vaccine Passports, for forcible internment and additional powers under the Bio-Security Act? You think this will not affect you or your children, your generations to come? Think again. Will the next ”health order” be that a couple can only have 1 child or 2 and no more? We have seen how easily freedom of expression has been clamped down. Remember that pregnant woman in Melbourne who was arrested for posting something online that was in opposition to the government?

We have seen in just a few months the Constitution, the Privacy Act, the Human Rights Act and many more Acts, developed from the 1970s and in force until this year to protect our privacy and freedoms, just thrown under the bus.

There is already talk of a third and fourth ”shot” in Q1 next year. So as we have seen in places like Israel, Finland etc your ”vaccine” passport will be revoked unless you have further shots.

The governments of this country have seen just how easy it is to get people to go against their conscience, their will. It will not end with the mandatory experimental virus jabs.

I hope to God I am completely wrong.

SCUMBAG MORRISON CAN FUCK OFF.

This is his latest drivel…forget about “zero emissions”…..he and the Liberal party are heading for ZERO SEATS.

“PM issues rally cry for nation to address climate change “together”

Scott Morrison has issued a rallying cry for the nation to address the challenge of climate change “together”, saying reducing emissions is now a question of “how, not if”.

Ahead of critical talks with Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce to hash out a net-zero by 2050 deal, the Prime Minister said there were “big opportunities” for regional and rural Australia.

“Addressing climate change is a challenge that we must do together. As Prime Minister, it is my job to bring people together on dealing with this big change. The world is moving into a new energy economy. We all know that,” Mr Morrison said on Monday morning.

Emerging from quarantine, Prime Minister Scott Morrison has welcomed New South Wales’ exit from lockdown. “This is the day so many have been looking forward to, the day when things we take for granted, we celebrate. Being with family and friends, getting a haircut, grabbing a meal together,

“It is now a question of how, not if. And how is how we can ensure that those communities right across rural and regional Australia can look at this change and understand that there are big opportunities and there is a way through.”

With the COP26 – the UN Climate Change Conference – summit in Glasgow at the end of the month, Mr Morrison is working towards a deal which will ensure regional and rural Australians don’t bear the brunt of the transition to a clean energy future.

“My government is committed to ensuring that rural and regional Australia transitions to this new energy economy in the future stronger, with their jobs and communities intact and they can look forward with confidence and plan for the future with confidence,” he said.

“We’ve got to come together on this issue. My government will come together on this issue. The country will come together on issue and we will tackle the challenges, just like we have tackled those challenges before this.”

While senior members of his government have come out in favour of transitioning, the Nationals party room is split.

As revealed in The Australian on Monday, The Nationals are pushing for clean energy investments to be spent in the regions and new powers to “pause” climate change action if rural communities display signs of suffering economic hardship.

Victorian National MPs like Darren Chester and Michael McCormack are reportedly in favour of a net-zero target, but Queensland senator Matt Canavan has declared there is nothing which will sway him in favour of a deal.

I ask again…why do we bother voting Liberal?

I won’t be…..ever again.

This video is dated 2/10/21. Dr Peter McCullough at the MPH speaks at the 78th Annual Meeting of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons:

I cannot fault any of his assessments of the data presented.
His explanation of the incredible stupidity of a vaccination program early during a pandemic was particularly good, not something that is widely known.
It explains the almost complete evolution to the current Delta variant in the US, with concomitant reductions of 50+% in vax efficacy when compared to the early Alpha strains.

Overall, a brilliant summary of the complete takeover of the FDA and CDC by the crony capitalists over two full US administrations. We probably need to go back to FDR’s New Deal to find greater corruption of Federal Instrumentalities, but more knowledgeable Cats might correct me on this.

At least there are highly competent, decent physicians speaking out in the US at a major conference.
In Australia we have Colleges complicit in the false narrative, and State Medical Councils (not AHPRA..) threatening disciplinary action for medicos deviating from it.

The biggest shock to me with the covid disaster has been how absolutely terrified people are of it. The scaremongering by the media and government has been so over the top, but they have succeeded in terrifying the public in to doing what they order, regardless of the stupidity of it,
ie Andrews drink with a mask on.

All they see are the numbers on TV and in the papers and go no further to see the truth behind the figures. The fact that 98% who get covid fully recover is not on their horizon, the media and government has successfully buried the true facts.

I think we all need to be a little wary of not under-dramatizing what was happening last year and what made people very worried. Don’t forget, that in the early part, when this Chinese bio-weapon was getting into full swing mortality in places like Northern Italy, New York etc caused bodies to pile up so quickly that people who died then were dumped in mass graves. That scared the living shit out or people.
My kid lived near one of the large NYC teaching hospitals and she saw bodies filing out and placed in line on stretchers to be taken and dumped on those mass graves.
We know a little bit more about it now.

Generally, we find out if a vax is dangerous after a three months and generally it looks okay.

Also, look at revealed preferences are the specialist docs who are either dealing or researching the Chinese bio-weapon being vaxxed? Other than rogue docs, I suspect most are.

This has been a truly incredible thing to watch and most of the initial hard yards was overseen/guided by Trump.
It’s been an amazing effort. There were faults along the way.. sure.

My recollection is that the “pandemic” word was used as early as mid-late January 2020, well before the proverbial hit the fan.
Saner minds, many on the Old Cat, correctly described the way to deal with this, based on massive amounts of medical, epidemiological and Public Health experience, dating back to the 19thC:
Find the primary source,
limit its spread,
plan on protecting the most vulnerable (old and immunosuppressed),
and
prioritise well-known and tried supportive treatments (mostly respiratory supports and maybe steroids for suppression of inflammation), remember portable ventilators?

A death toll was unavoidable but, hey, this was not Ebola, Rabies or Variola. It was always unlikely to be high, a huge majority would have mild or moderate disease and develop primary immunity.

All that was hijacked by vested interests, doom-mongering governments and their enablers.
China did its thing and allowed international travel, the West did its thing, pandering to the lunatic woke anti-racists, containment measures were subverted (eg. air travel, Ruby Princess, nursing homes), the focus on vaccination, rather than early supportive therapies for a relatively mild disease. And the rest is history.

Trump did all the right things, except that, at all times, he was simply listening to “experts” who had other agendas.

I never heard it explained so well, the point made by McCullough about the risks of vaxing early during a pandemic. It should be taught in first-year Med.

We know a little bit more about it now.

In the US vaxxing began in January.
So baba, Jan, feb, march, apr, may, june, july, aug, sept, and now oct. There’s 9 months there somewhere and there would be a decent, but smallish sample to work with. If even a single rug rat was dropped with 5 heads and 24 arms we’d be hearing about it.

Also, there would have been serious testing and shit going on before birth for the simple reason that if the kid was not perfect, lots of sheilas these days would have had the kid hoovered. After the hoovering there would have been mega research carried out of the hoovered kid.

I says it’s a very small concern until there’s something eye-opening happening.

Kids have been born now from sheilas receiving the vax at the beginning of the year. Have any kids been born with three heads and 7 arms? ?

In all seriousness what’s the prognosis for this rug rats as there’s been a decent number born with the mother carrying the vax.

It’s not just whether they’re ok after they’re born, which (as Rorschach says) we don’t know yet.
It’s whether they survive till “birth”.
Remember that NEJM survey which showed a “preliminary” result of 115 lost kids out of 147 pregnancies where the mother got the jab in the first or second trimester?
When that was highlighted in social media there was a lot of harrumphing by “fact checkers” who stated that until the full survey was complete no conclusions should be drawn. That’s no doubt true, and there may be good reasons to think that the “preliminary” results were in some way skewed by virtue of being preliminary, but quite what those reasons are was never clearly explained as far as I’m aware.
Anyway, the survey was of pregnancies reported from 14 December to 28 February, so allowing for at least a couple of weeks for the woman to actually realise she’s pregnant and have that recorded in the health stats, they ought to be getting their final data in the next 5 to 6 weeks. It will be interesting to see what (if anything) is actually finally published.

It’s not just whether they’re ok after they’re born, which (as Rorschach says) we don’t know yet.

Pregnant women have been vaxxed. Vaxxing began in the US in early January. This means pregnant sheilas were vaxxed and lots of kids have been born with their mothers vaxxed.

I appreciate it may be difficult for you to understand this because in your species it could be different, but the gestation period for humans is around 9 months. The US began to vax in January so there have been kids born to fully vaxxed mothers, dumphfried.

It’s whether they survive till “birth”.

They already fucking have and if there was out of the ordinary losses, we would have heard about it. We haven’t, so there hasn’t been.

It will be interesting to see what (if anything) is actually finally published.

There were American women vaxxed throughout the term of their pregnancies from January onwards, when vaxxing began. We would have read about shit going askew. We haven’t, so remain silent until there is or you find something we’ve missed.

I appreciate it may be difficult for you to understand this because in your species it could be different, but the gestation period for humans is around 9 months. The US began to vax in January so there have been kids born to fully vaxxed mothers, dumphfried.

Which part of “we don’t know yet” don’t you understand? Not every health problem of a baby is immediately apparent when it sticks it’s head out of the birth canal. For example if it has a compromised immune system that may not show up for a while – and data on the vaxxed v unvaxxed mothers’ kids may take quite a while to be put together.
And, just so it’s clear, I’m not saying they will have compromised immune systems – just that we don’t know.

They already fucking have and if there was out of the ordinary losses, we would have heard about it. We haven’t, so there hasn’t been.

“They” includes the 32 in the NEJM preliminary results who survived, but not the 115 who didn’t. As I said, NEJM haven’t finished their survey, so why would you expect the losses “already” to have been reported. Again, to be clear, I’m not making any prediction, just pointing out that “already” is premature.

Nope.

So you’ll take my word for it that it proves you totally wrong?
[Just kidding – it doesn’t yet and may never do so for all the reasons I set out in my comment.]

“…so remain silent until there is or you find something we’ve missed.”

Well, you obviously missed the NEJM survey preliminary report, so you’re now better informed (if no wiser). Don’t blame me that they chose to release their preliminary findings.

What is concerning, and I have seen very, very little written or spoken about it anywhere in the approved media, is the fact that our zero COVID, locked down, border bubble and quick vaccinate policy has seriously limited our ability to build any effective sort of herd immunity in Australia. Sweden seems to have managed it through ‘front loading’ the damage rather than forcing everyone to hide under the doona.

Much is being made now of how natural immunity from exposure to the disease is far more efficacious than any vaccine. Going on Vic figures alone where only 50,000 of our 5 million plus inhabitants have tested positive to C19 and now have natural immunity it’s clear than less than 1% are in that category. And 50,000 is a big enough cohort to be able to extrapolate that out to the whole country. Realistically though, I think you could say that apart from NSW the percentage of natural immunity in the other states is probably even lower because their case loads are significantly lower.

I’m not trying to catastrophise here but my curious mind has all sorts of questions about what happens when we open up, even if it’s just to the fully vaccinated. It’s clear that C19 is here to stay and must be lived with. Given that situation I can see a host of if-when, if-then and if-but scenarios rolling over the CHOs and the elected dum-dum dummies pretending to be in charge. I don’t know the answers and I suspect either does anyone else although there does seem to be a lot of well researched and feasible guesses about.

Yes indeed, and yes it is.

And polling supports the political rationale behind James Allen’s version of Morrison the spineless.

1) Australians are overwhelmingly conservative and fearful about Covid. The Swedish ‘live with it’ model has no traction with most voters;

2) State governments are generally viewed as having done either a net good job – or in the case of WA, SA, and Qld, a red hot job – in protecting their voters from Covid Doom;

3) Morrison’s hands-off approach is viewed as not great, but not terrible either.

Getting to the election relatively unscathed electorally is the intended political payoff for the ‘all care but no responsibility’ strategy.

Big payoff for fluffing around for two years and inflicting, or permitting literally immeasurable damage on Australia.

Is there any evidence that the vaccines get to the baby? The champions of vaccine mandates would surely be claiming this as a victory – and they aren’t.

My understanding is that the mRNA produced naturally in the cells breaks down after it is used by the ribosome – not surprising that the processes they impact in turn impact them.

There are a lot of claims about coming from both sides, some of which are doubtless valid and others…promoted more for resonating with existing convictions than for their epistemological integrity, shall we say.

Even if you accept that vaccine side effects are being suppressed (and I can see why the people badgering us to roll up our sleeves would want to do that – they are none of them admirable characters) there are still relatively few cases of side effects. More than other vaccines? I would guess yes, but they are also rare because they are used judiciously, which is not how I would describe the current mandates. The talk about long term effects seems to me currently to be more speculation – anecdotes aspiring to be data.

Simply put I think Covid nowhere near problem it has been built up to be, and much the same with he vaccines.

Mandates are a problem. That a government felt entitled to lock people in their homes is a problem. That they all robotically reached for the heaviest and clumsiest instrument they could find (lockdowns) which they have wielded with such devastating collateral damage, rather than something targeted toward vulnerable populations, and the fact our leaders think not only that they have done a good job but that they are deserving of boundless gratitude is hilarious and a big problem. That they have been content to sideline personal objections because bureaucracy lacks the visual acuity to see individuals is typical. And a problem. That all discussion of other treatments has been dealt with by a mix of childish taunts and censorship is pernicious. And a problem – and not just of government.

And the readiness of people to dob on each other is revolting. Not really a problem because that is who they are and they are entitled to it, but a problem to live with. It is more sad.

Lots of American docs hate pharma and pediatricians wouldn’t hold back if they thought kids were born with vax associated problems.

As a veteran participant in the on-line climate wars – I know that journals are gatekeepers for “science”… and if any one bucks the orthodoxy, they are ostracised and cancelled. Even senior folk get smashed. So no – the clinicians keep their head down. Particularly in the West. Only in places like Sth America and India – where there is a high standard of medicine but like zero resources do the clinicians speak up. [Of course – here there is very little vaccination as these countries just can’t afford the vaxxes – and (rightly) they go to the vulnerable old folk first – and these don’t typically get preggo]

Did you actually watch the vid of Peter McCullough? It is a good hour spent.

And if I had any investments in big Pharma – I would be thinking VERY seriously about offloading.

What is concerning, and I have seen very, very little written or spoken about it anywhere in the approved media, is the fact that our zero COVID, locked down, border bubble and quick vaccinate policy has seriously limited our ability to build any effective sort of herd immunity in Australia.

Megan, I don’t suppose Quadrant is “approved media” but Emeritus Professor Robert Clancy has an excellent piece on the situation we now face and the options available (ivermectin!) at their on-line page.

Yes. It is a very good overview of our initial mistake in going straight for elimination.

You will never eliminate a respiratory virus of this type. The only way through such an epidemic is via progressive and slow natural immunity being developed, with recoveries assisted by vaccines and/or treatments. Always was the way, and it still very largely is the way forward. Australia is well behind on the natural immunity side of things.

As I said in March 2020, I had travelled before during epidemics and saw no apparent reason to curtail my international travel during this new one if I took some due precautions for self-protection. I had some concerns because this virus was new and sudden, but by April back in Australia I published my view that a lack of proportionality was apparent by then in the governmental response to Covid. This disproportionate response has got worse by tenfold since then. in so many aspects, what should have been done was not done and what was done should not have been done.

There is no health in this.

Remember that NEJM survey which showed a “preliminary” result of 115 lost kids out of 147 pregnancies where the mother got the jab in the first or second trimester?

Nope.

I’m a bit ‘nope’ there too, JC. I do remember someone putting up here a report about miscarriages that was absolutely a misreading of the data, where the contrasting population demographic data concerning miscarriages was being misinterpreted as data from the study population. Perhaps that is where these weird figures are coming from? It was such an elementary error I was astounded, for it showed the level of scientific incapability some of the anti-vaxxer population had. Not all of them, of course, but when such clear misinformation is peddled, it helps no-one sensible if it isn’t called out.

where the contrasting population demographic data concerning miscarriages was being misinterpreted as data from the study population

That certainly wasn’t what social media commenters were saying about the NEJM study. They were absolutely referring only to the 847 “preliminary” sample who had been vaxxed during pregnancy, the 700 within that 847 who’d been vaxxed in the third trimester and the 115 babies among the 847 which had been lost before week 26 – which by inexorable logic must have come from the 147 who’d been vaxxed in the first or second trimester.
Maybe it was another study. Or maybe there were some handwaving “fact checkers” who were trying to misrepresent what social media were talking about.

JC @ 2:03pm

I’m sure there were elements of the program that looking back appear to be senselessly stupid, but the big picture, in my mind , is how incredible the process was from recognizing there was a pandemic, then acting quickly to find and remedy and the logistics of getting this stuff to billions of punters. This has been a truly incredible thing to watch and most of the initial hard yards was overseen/guided by Trump.
It’s been an amazing effort. There were faults along the way.. sure.

JC, if you watched McCullough’s presentation you would know that all of the usual protocols for vaccination efficacy are based solely on safety. McCullough shows that safety has been removed from every part of the vaccine rollout and those government watchdogs whose job it is to ensure that the safety regime is adhered to are too close to the pharmaceutical industry to have maintained that regime.

If you’ve watched the vid of Dr Reiner Fuillmich taking evidence from Dr David Martin you would know that the vaccine (Moderna?) had been patented before the virus had been identified in the population. There was no acting quickly to find a remedy Nor was there a pandemic, because there were no cases until the PCR Test was commandeered to “find” it, which then ensured that the WHO could make the subsequent announcement.

One of the great travesties of this pandemic is the deliberate change from a medical standpoint in the counting of asymptomatic rather than symptomatic cases because of the faulty PCR Test; as if the healthy who by and large don’t get sick, can pass on an illness of this nature when they have no symptoms. Or, as McCullough points out, doctors sending people home to self-isolate or into quarantine alone to wait out the illness but offer them no treatments and not even attempt to try any – at least not until they’re on their last legs and in need of hospital care – which demonstrates how complete this mindset of sola vaccine has become. This is perhaps the most sad and disturbing aspect of this 20 odd months, apart from the deliberate ban on people going to funerals and/or seeing their sick family members because of state borders and hospital nazis.

Every aspect of the management of this pandemic has been replicated everywhere in the West – apart from in Sweden. How can it be that one country with one set of demographics, geographical features, climate and living arrangements etc has been managed in the same way as an entirely different country with the exact opposite characteristics? Why would Bondi Beach and, say, Naples require the same protocols? In fact, the northern Italy experience was completely different to what occurred in Australia – and still is. Yet their pandemic plans were the same in all(?)/most(?) respects: lockdowns, facemasks, social distancing, closed schools, the denial of basic rights to work. Why?

But what we do know is that across western nations people have been subjected to the most disgraceful assault on their mental stability outside of an existential war. Until, finally, in being returned of their freedoms by the State, they are rising in thankful rejoicing – you’ll know what I mean if you’ve managed to see some of the footage from today in Sydney. But in reality this is another assault to their senses and stability, for always now in the back of their minds will be the worry that the government could at any time introduce another lockdown- nothing now can be planned or relied on in this “New World Order.”

More and more this entire experience reminds of the mass brainwashing scene in the film The Manchurian Candidate (the original flick not that latter day travesty) when the soldiers think that they’re attending a seminar on flower arranging (iirc) somewhere in middle class USA when actually the chief protagonist of the film, Raymond Shaw, has been brainwashed to murder two of his fellow comrades before the eyes of the other captured American soldiers and in the presence of the Chinese and Russian brainwashers. Like the characters watching Shaw, the people no longer know what is a lie and what is real; all that matters is our state sponsored rather than our actual freedom.

And for the vaxxed and the unvaxxed, watching the McCullough vid should give no-one any succour. First, because the organisations and bodies that countries have created to manage our society for the benefit of the people have been corrupted by money and power; who can we turn to when it looks like everything has been corrupted to make right what is no longer right?

Second, and more importantly, we all have friends and family on either side of this divide – and it is a real divide while these restrictions on some but not on others remain in place. While further divides are occurring as mandates to be jabbed are being enforced: lose your job and income and perhaps family and friends, if you don’t succumb. No doubt further relational damage as those who remain healthy may feel guilt ridden as their loved ones suffer because of a necessity to get jabbed. Mandates for a medical treatment in a free(?) society are anathema. On that alone the vaccines have failed.

From Rosie’s link:
Preliminary findings did not show obvious safety signals among pregnant persons who received mRNA Covid-19 vaccines. However, more longitudinal follow-up, including follow-up of large numbers of women vaccinated earlier in pregnancy, is necessary to inform maternal, pregnancy, and infant outcomes

I watched the vid that MT put up the other day: Fanosthevoice interviewing a Dr Peter Johnston from Rosebud who’s been a doctor for 50 years, on the vaccines. One of the things I found really interesting was when the discussion turned to Thalidomide. It seems that when the animal studies were done, rats were used and no adverse reactions found.

Once the abnormalities came to light the university teams had a look at and re-did the experiments on the rats, because the manufacturer reiterated that they’d found nothing untoward in the rat subjects.

What the researchers discovered was how different the two species dealt with the medication. In the case of the rats, the drug remained in the rats for about 30 minutes whereas for the human subjects it stayed in their system for about 7 hours. Dr Johnston said that the vaccine trials were also undertaken on rats.

Interestingly the link contains two October updates, one including what’s basically a mea culpa by the authors that their original way of presenting the data had set the hares and hounds running, and a second giving the results updated from the April preliminary study.
The update states that the final (or at least much closer to final) data suggests that the spontaneous miscarriages are in line with normal stats, so the concerns arising from that study have been allayed.

That certainly wasn’t what social media commenters were saying about the NEJM study

Show me the data, not what the commenters made of it. The number 847 rings a bell. Someone had toted up the numbers of two columns and come up with what they thought was bingo! a discrepancy.

But the two columns referred to very different things, contrasting the figures expected in a population for ‘losses’ in the earlier stages of pregnancy contrasted with the ‘losses’ experienced in the study population. The RR in both was about the same. Hence, vaxx no problem.

The Director-General of Qld Health has kindly informed us that:

In a study of COVID-19 infected healthcare workers in Israel, 57 per cent acquired the infection from an unvaccinated household contact. You can help reduce this risk by making sure that your household is fully vaccinated.

When we go to the study he links to, we find that:

In all 37 case patients for whom data were available regarding the source of infection, the suspected source was an unvaccinated person; in 21 patients (57%), this person was a household member.

Let’s look at that again: … the suspected source…

Oh, and if you’ve just eaten, there’s this:

The new Chief Health Officer announced

On Tuesday, the Premier formally announced Dr Krispin Hajkowicz as Queensland’s new Chief Health Officer (CHO). Krispin will formally take on the role from 1 November, and in the meantime is getting acquainted with the amazing team of professionals that make up the Department and the Hospital and Health Services COVID response system. We have many new challenges to confront in the next phase of our COVID-19 response. Krispin has both the expertise and leadership credentials to be able to maintain the trust and confidence of the Queensland community as we transition to ‘living with COVID’.

It is hard for me to put into words the burden of responsibility on our Chief Health Officer, in making life changing decisions every day over the past 21 months. In a declared public health emergency, it is the CHO who has the legal power and accountability for these decisions, aiming to balance the application of restrictions on individual rights, for the broader public benefit. Few jurisdictions around the world have achieved what Queensland has to date, both in terms of safeguarding lives and health, and in maintaining some semblance of social and economic normality for our citizens. Each one of these thousands of decisions comes at a high cost, both for the people affected, and also for the CHO. Every one of these decisions is also subject to intense public scrutiny and commentary by ‘experts’ who provide a daily critique in the daily cauldron of media.

As we approach the end of October and the life and career transition for both Dr Young and Dr Hajkowicz, I ask that you reflect for moment, on how fortunate we are that we have leaders that will step forward, put their reputations on the line, and make the high stakes decisions every day for the community good. I also ask that you will join with me in giving Krispin and his family our full support as he takes on this role, to lead us through this next phase of the pandemic.

What the researchers discovered was how different the two species dealt with the medication.

Well, JC did ask what species Tim was, so he’s obviously alert to the issue. 😀

Thalidomide is also very specific indeed to the actual stage of pregnancy at which the foetus is developing. Taking it at different but limited stages of human embryonic development produces different injuries. Later on, no problems. My Big Sis took it during her first pregnancy in 1961 and the child was unaffected, as she took it slightly later than most others did. Human testing always takes place before any drug is ticked off for human use. Animal tests come first, and often on different sorts of species, for contrasts and especially to establish toxicity levels. LD50 – the amount needed to kill off fifty of the more ‘disposable’ animals, is one standard used. Rats aren’t bad indicators of how human physiology responds – I guess because, like us rats, are opportunistic omnivores.

Thalidomide is now being repurposed for other disease treatments. Anything so biologically active but well tolerated is a dead cert for a revision and another look for utility.
