At 90% vaccination rate what are the chances of walking into a coffee shop and no one in the que is vaccinated?!
Had this thought the other day chatting the a fellow refusenik at the newsagents. I’d say in our demographic, it’s 25% holding out, and they will never change.
Roadhouse is proof- serving girls ran a vox pop when it was early days, and they couldn’t find a single regular who wanted the jab. Right now, they reckon 50%, and that’s because 25% of people evade the subject, and another 25 are incandescently furious that they bent over and not afraid to say it.

The NT reportedly has just 20 ICU beds (according to Gunner himself).

That’s an increase of just 2 beds since covid first appeared and the “flatten the curve” mantra began.

And that’s with probably the most disadvanated and health compromised general population in Australia.

You would have thought contingency plans would have been made to “surge” ICU capacity if required but the current government panic suggests not.

Not a ‘health professional’. But I will speculate that because Health is one of the highest-funded money pits in the country, that all the cash (if there was any) earmarked for more and better ICU beds* has been spent on inflated bureaucracies, unnecessary self-perpetuating compliance regimens and the construction of personal fiefdoms by middle-ranking inadequates.

*Like the 4000 more ICU beds Andrews promised in February 2020, and who later then lied about having said it.

WHANGAREI, NEW ZEALAND – A father has lashed out at health workers who administered the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to his 12-year-old twin boys without his consent, bribing them with $100 gift cards. While the law allows minors over 12 years old to be vaccinated without parental consent, many believe this is highly immoral, especially when the question of money and children is involved.

You are right – “This is fucked up.”
I do not understand how these nurses and community health wukkas can do this.

Speaking of Union cavalry, U. S. Grant was reputedly the best horseman West Point had seen in many years and upon graduation he naturally requested a cavalry assignment which, however, was denied him.

Evidently he didn’t have the right connections so he became a second lieutenant in the infantry instead.

Still, I would wager the infantry would not appreciate being skewered.

An encounter battle, despite good marksmanship and a preponderance of automatic weapons, will always go to the side that can impose their will on events quickest.

who did not tell his wife he was with Ms Clay

She was reported to be anything but a backwoods High Country kinda gal, rather a manicure and pedicure girlygirl. If he was hoping for intents (sorry, can’t resist a pun) slap and tickle, I can’t help thinking the river crossing, if getting into Wonangatta from the south through the remains of Eaglevale, or the rutted, near vertical descent from the Mansfield direction, would have cooled her ardour considerably.

First went to the Wongatta Valley in 1977, camped there for a four days and didn’t see another soul. Returned in 2007 and found the place infested with trail bikes and dickheads having competitions to get their 4WD the furthest up the incline near where the old homestead stood.

Last visit came after the Greens had Vic Labor ban cattle in the High Country, ending a 180-year-old legacy and culture. Valley was overgrown and the blackberries, which were always there, were choking everything while providing home security for rabbits, of which there were thousands.

Basically, the state’s environmental nannies, Green inner-city nitwits have stuffed the place thoroughly. A pity, it was beautiful in the Seventies

J.E.B Stuart on the Confederate side was a well-renowned cavalry commander of the era, too.

I don’t have the exact details – I’ve lent the book to another history buff – but Polish cavalry caught a German infantry battalion in their administrative area, and charged them. They were pursuing the retreating Germans, when they encountered an advancing armored car unit. German propaganda turned that into the first incident of Polish cavalry, totally unprepared, and ignorant of, modern warfare, charging tanks.

Civil war cavalry were mainly used for screening infantry positions, reconnaisance and rounding up infantry stragglers. The advent of rifled muskets and field artillery rendered the offensive use of cavalry a very expensive proposition in terms of human life.

BRANDY STATION, Virginia, 9 June 1863 was, probably, the only ALL cavalry battle of the Civil War .. although the Union took the most casualties 930 to the Confederate losses of 485 .. the Confederate cavalry under JEB Stuart were for the 1st time soundly routed by Alfred Pleasonton’s Union troopers .. Conjecture is that the loss at Brandy Station prompted Stuart to go on his “lost” ride around the Union flank(s) prior to Gettysburg thus absenting his cavalry, and Lee’s knowledge of the Union positions & strengths, before and during much of the crucial 3 days of Gettysburg …….

Everything here is truth.

See how dumb 2000’s era conservatism was? They used to mock these instead of learning them.

RULE 1: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.”

Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood. (These are two things of which there is a plentiful supply. Government and corporations always have a difficult time appealing to people, and usually do so almost exclusively with economic arguments.)

RULE 2: “Never go outside the expertise of your people.”

It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone. (Organizations under attack wonder why radicals don’t address the “real” issues. This is why. They avoid things with which they have no knowledge.)

RULE 3: “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.”

Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty. (This happens all the time. Watch how many organizations under attack are blind-sided by seemingly irrelevant arguments that they are then forced to address.)

RULE 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”

If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules. (This is a serious rule. The besieged entity’s very credibility and reputation is at stake, because if activists catch it lying or not living up to its commitments, they can continue to chip away at the damage.)

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions. (Pretty crude, rude and mean, huh? They want to create anger and fear.)

RULE 6: “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.”

They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones. (Radical activists, in this sense, are no different that any other human being. We all avoid “un-fun” activities, and but we revel at and enjoy the ones that work and bring results.)

RULE 7: “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.”

Don’t become old news. (Even radical activists get bored. So to keep them excited and involved, organizers are constantly coming up with new tactics.)

RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.”

Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new. (Attack, attack, attack from all sides, never giving the reeling organization a chance to rest, regroup, recover and re-strategize.)

RULE 9: “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.”

Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist. (Perception is reality. Large organizations always prepare a worst-case scenario, something that may be furthest from the activists’ minds. The upshot is that the organization will expend enormous time and energy, creating in its own collective mind the direst of conclusions. The possibilities can easily poison the mind and result in demoralization.)

RULE 10: “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.”

Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog. (Unions used this tactic. Peaceful [albeit loud] demonstrations during the heyday of unions in the early to mid-20th Century incurred management’s wrath, often in the form of violence that eventually brought public sympathy to their side.)

RULE 11: “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.”

Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem. (Old saw: If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. Activist organizations have an agenda, and their strategy is to hold a place at the table, to be given a forum to wield their power. So, they have to have a compromise solution.)

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

That’s on my bucket list, as well.

FWIW, I’ve heard it said that Gettysburg was the first major battle that Robert E Lee fought without “Stonewall” Jackson,, and Lee suffered the first attack of the heart disease that eventually took his life, during that battle.

If Pharaoh ever lets you go from WA, Zulu, you must see it. Hire a car and drive around the battlefield. It’s tiny.

If you are up on all the skirmishes and battles, you can place yourself there, as an invisible observer.

The ghosts are gone. But the peaceful farmland and the little town remains. There is also a heritage centre. On the path up to it is a sign – please leave your firearms in your car.

Custer’s command at the Alamo was quite interesting.

Featured an innovative deployment of early machineguns to the flanks of the line, and a nice formation of Stokes mortars in the centre.

Lesser known is his deployment of Sopwith Camels against President General Antonio López de Santa Anna’s trench systems. He took a gamble, IMHO, for the Camel was much better used as an air superiority fighter. It came off.

If the federal liberals wanted this to stop they could just shut off API access to the Australian Immunisation Register making it impossible for the states to have their vaccine passport ‘apps’ know who has what vaccine.

But Morrison set all that up, so why would he turn off his own governments hard work and dream?

Yep, if Jackson had of been there I doubt thre would have been a Charge .. Longstreet wa sa very capable general but one of his faults wa she ALWAYS deferred to Lee rather than argue, he is quoted as saying the night before when told of the plans for Pickett’s Charge …
“General,” said Longstreet, “I have been a soldier all my life. I have been with soldiers
engaged in fights by couples, by squads, companies, regiments, divisions, and armies,
and should know as well as anyone what soldiers can do. It is my opinion that no 15,000 men

If the federal liberals wanted to stop the states they could direct companies – which are federally governed entities, to not ask any Australian for their covid vaccination status unless it is critical to their job function – and threaten them that if they do there will be hell to pay under the privacy act and industrial relations laws.

So setting up a constitutional issue between corporations then having to decide which laws to obey: state public health made-up-on-the-spot edicts, or federal (their ultimate masters) black letter law.

There is a million ways the federal government could deal with this, the problem isn’t lack of options, the problem is they support the entire thing.

Only in the Territory #1:

CHIEF Minister Michael Gunner has unleashed on overseas conspiracy theorists spreading misinformation on the Northern Territory’s Covid-19 response.

In a press conference on Thursday morning, Mr Gunner described those sharing the ridiculous theories on social media sites as “tinfoil hat-wearing tossers sitting in their parent’s basements in Florida”.

It comes after a flurry of social media misinformation, including lies such as that the ADF was forcibly vaccinating Indigenous Territorians.

The NT News has seen videos posted to social media site Facebook containing blatant misinformation about the government’s response without providing any evidence.

Mr Gunner said the conspiracy theories were damaging to the Territory’s response, particularly in protecting Indigenous Territorians, and should be dismissed.

“We are trying to protect the oldest continuous culture on the planet. We have tens of thousands of history, law, custom and song to keep alive,” he said.

Only in the Territory #2:

The Mocker – The Australian:

Like many Australians, I was surprised to discover this week I am an anti-vaxxer. Previously I thought that to be in this category you had to have an irrational fear of vaccines. But thanks to Northern Territory Chief Minister Michael Gunner, we now know that type is but one of many in an insidious movement whose numbers are legion.

“If you are anti-mandate, you are absolutely anti-vax,” he said at a press conference on Monday. “I don’t care what your personal vaccination status is. If you support, champion, give a green light, give comfort to, support anybody who argues against the vaccine, you are an anti-vaxxer. Absolutely.

“Your personal vaccination status is utterly irrelevant … If you say ‘pro-persuasion’, stuff it – shove it.”….

I realise now that one is either pro-vaccination mandates or an anti-vaxxer, and that there is nothing in between. My epiphany would not have happened but for Gunner’s magisterial display as he spluttered, pointed his finger repeatedly, raised his voice, and carried on as if he were doing an angry Marty Feldman impression. Now there is a man who is both measured and knowledgeable, I thought. Shove it? How edifying.

There was a discussion between a couple of scientists someone posted here a couple of weeks back about non-consistency of side-effects. They blamed it on quality control – good and bad batches.

Zipster, Robert Malone mentioned (in his discussion with Bret Weinstein & Steve Kirsch that caused such a furore) bad batches as a possible explanation for the inconsistency of adverse responses. I wish he had elaborated on this because months later a Pfizer employee apparently resigned over poor quality control of vaccine production.

There are, of course, many other theories re the inconsistency e.g. poorly administered injections into veins, instead of muscle; differing immune responses; spike protein aggravating existing problems etc.

I would really like to read any further material.

Consider this.

There are 8 State and Federal based ‘oomaaaan rites departments in Australia.
https://humanrights.gov.au/about/links-human-rights-organisations-and-resources#ad

(Ive added the easy to google ones expenditure as well)
State and Territory Anti-discrimination and Equal Opportunity Agencies
Federal: $23,427,000
ACT Human Rights Commission: Buried under nuclear waste…. the 90 page report refers you to another document…somewhere.
Anti-Discrimination Board of New South Wales: $3,408,752
Anti-Discrimination Commission of Queensland: $7,299,000
Equal Opportunity Commission Western Australia: $4,063,360
Northern Territory Anti-Discrimination Commission
Office of the Anti-Discrimination Commission (Tasmania)
South Australia Equal Opportunity Commission
Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission: $9,719,831

Missing a few, but i think a ballpark $50 million can be saved by just having a one line “You have no rights, and you will be happy” in place of them.
Every one has a “covid explainer” section which pretty well says that anyway.

The page lists another 100+ groups and organisations claiming to do the same.

Not one of them has found a problem with enforced medical procedures, curfews, loss of rights to work or recreation and at the extreme end, refusal of medical treatment based on vaccine status.

The very few mewlings I have seen were over certain areas lockdowns being seen as possibly ” racist” because of the majority ethnicity there.

Scott Morrison says Australia is sending Australian Federal Police and Australian Defence Force personnel to the Solomon Islands after a second day of rioting in the capital, Honiara.

The Australian revealed that Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare asked for Australia’s help to restore order in Honiara. The national security committee of cabinet considered the request for help following crisis talks between the Sogavare government and the Australian High Commission in Honiara.

Mr Morrison said 23 AFP personnel and 43 ADF personnel would be deployed immediately, adding the security situation on the ground was volatile.

“Our purpose here is to provide security and stability to enable the normal constitutional processes within the Solomon Islands to be able to deal with the various issues that have arisen,” he said.

Great article, Roger. A clear precis of what the left has enabled during covid. As a result, all around the world millions have been thrown into poverty and been denied their human rights while big pharma and the multinational class have gained and governments have become bigger and more authoritarian. But, as the authors note, ultimately the left will rue the day it sided with the state and big business against the worker and the average person.

A whole generation of young people plus the many thousands of previously disengaged have woken up and what they’re after is freedom and, as the flying duck pointed in his linked discussion, for government to get out of their lives.

This is a real revolution and politicians who do not move quickly to free up our lives permanently may well be swept aside.

S’pose going to Solomons doesn’t fit with the parental flexi-time, or the “transitioning counselling”

There’s troops who could do it, but they’re needed in Canberra to testify against each other for “engaging in Aggressive conduct toward the Enemy”

Australia should be sorting its domestic problems out first.

“Zoe Daniel, the ABC reporter, is running as an ‘independent’”

Zoe Daniel will be as independent as……Zali Steggall, Kerryn Phelps, Julia Skanks, Helen Haines, Cathy McGowan…in other words she’s a Green left progressive masquerading as an “independent”. She’ll have massive resources and money thrown her way from an unholy and very toxic stew of GetUp, unions, Labor hacks (such as Darren Bartlett) pretending to be “independent advisors” AND rich scum like the Turnbull and Holmes a Court families. It’s a template that worked for them in Warringah and in Wentworth in 2018…they’ll use it again in Wentworth and North Sydney.

Mounted cavalry.

I don’t know how this discussion began, but how many times over the whole of pre-modern history, do we think a mounted cavalry charge actually made contact with the infantry (or cav.) they were charging?

I’d wager that 9.75 times out 10, no line or square was broken by the charging cav.

Who was it that said (paraphrased) that if the reins were to be severed 30 yards or so from the infantry square, that 9.75 times out of 10 cavalry would then break the infantry squares?

Whoever it was had a point.

That level of stupidity is monumental, he has no nodding acquaintance with principles.

Solomon Islands: Australia sends troops, federal police amid riots in Honiara

Scott Morrison says Australia will send Australian Federal Police and Australian Defence Force personnel to the Solomon Islands amid a second day of rioting in the nation’s capital.
Mr Morrison said the personnel would be deployed immediately, noting that the security situation on the ground was volatile.

Why are we doing this? Solomon Islands governments needs to feel the displeasure of their population for selling them out to China. If our military goes there to quell the riots the population will think we are doing the Chinese bidding.

There is nothing that ScoMo can’t make worse.

From an email I received today re. the Wisconsin Christmas parade atrocity…

“A black supremacist carried out the car ramming attack that killed 6 people, including two children, at a Wisconsin Christmas parade.

This black supremacist hated Trump, white people and Jews, and loved Hitler. He was also reportedly affiliated with the Black Hebrew Israelites. A member of this group murdered 4 Jews in an attack on a Kosher supermarket in New Jersey in 2019, while another member stabbed 5 Jews with a machete in an attack in New York.

Amongst dozens of radical posts, last year, the Wisconsin attacker wrote “We start bakk knokkin white ppl TF out ion wanna hear it.. the old white ppl 2, KNOKK DEM TF OUT!! PERIOD..”

The media frequently speaks about white supremacy, and imagines white supremacists everywhere, but is very scared to touch the topic of black supremacy.

We need to have this discussion, because people are dying. “

Indeed….but we won’t because according to the narrative only white people are evil.

The author of the quote was meaning; Few cavalry charges actually gave it a proper try at breaking an infantry square/triangle.
The cavalryman knows what is in store for him if he gallops directly onto a porcupine of bayonetted muskets set on their butt, & transmits this hesitation through the reins.
The Gee-Gees have no such knowledge – and without any (possibly unconscious or unintended) last instant instructions to “ease up” – would gallop into the infantry & break the square wide open.

At the cost of the first line of cavalry, man and horse.

I don’t have a reference, but I think it was John Churchill, Duke of Marlborough, who gave orders that “Officers were to mount a good horse, and, in the presence of their men, demonstrate the reluctance of the horse to charge a line or square.”

How you teach kids manners.

I witnessed the nice thing this evening. I was approaching an intersection and the mother holding hands with a kid either side was looking to cross the street. I motioned for her to walk across. She smiled and raised her hand thanking me. She then spoke to the kid on nearest side to me and he raised his hand in a thank you motion too. That’s a nice family.

Totally over-the-top stuff but an excellent script & good acting makes it well worth watching .. !
Language/sex scenes do get a bit strong so not recommended for kids ……
Now into season 2 and a HULU production so not sure who might be airing it in Oz .. I downloaded it ..
