Giving winter weather made-up mythical titles like “Storm Arwen” is gaslighting.
“Remember that Yorkshire snow-in? Yeah nah that was just Storm Arwen. Pub’s been knocked down for a wind farm now, good spot for it too. Turbines might get iced up just when we need the wattage the most, but hey we need it for our grandchildren’s grandchildren, you know, Greta and the little bloke Arwen…”

Given human history, I don’t think that asserting that homosexuals have something wrong with their brain is anything more than an opinion.

Heterosexuals have the numbers. Homosexuals are only a small percentage of the population.

Heteros aren’t in the right because we have the numbers, we have the numbers because we are right. If heteros were only two percent of the population, we’d have been extinct long ago. There’s only one ultimate test of who is right and who is wrong and it’s the survival of your genes. So Genghis Khan got it right and Alexander of Macedon got it wrong.

It’s my opinion that killing ppl with whom you disagree is a bad idea, but that’s just my opinion.

It wasn’t much, but 3AW used to be a slightly preferable alternative to the ABC’s Melbourne propaganda blasters. No more. It’s now an enforcer of the narrative. Mention ivermectin on air and they not only cut you off, they also delete the call from the podcast.

But it gets worse.

Listen to the treatment this nurse gets — I’m giving the caller the benefit of the doubt and assuming he’s genuine — when reporting the heart cases flooding his emergency room.

And do note how the blathering compere says people aren’t equipped to know if they need medical care.

Interesting case. Lots of supporters have argued for a long time she is innocent.

An appeal by convicted killer Susan Neill-Fraser has failed.

Neill-Fraser’s second appeal – against her 2010 conviction for the murder of her partner, Bob Chappell, on board their yacht in Hobart’s River Derwent on Australia Day 2009 – was on Tuesday morning rejected by Tasmania’s Court of Criminal Appeal.

During the course of three days of the appeal hearings in March 2021, Neill-Fraser’s legal team abandoned multiple planks of their case, notably the evidence of a key witness, former homeless girl Meaghan Elisabeth Vass.

Ms Vass sensationally recanted her evidence that linked others to the crime, telling the court she had been “hounded” and “threatened” into giving false testimony, including by a jail friend of Neill-Fraser’s.

However, Neill-Fraser’s lawyers had argued the one surviving plank of their case – expert opinion about how Vass’ DNA might have come to be on the yacht – was enough to justify a retrial.

Two of three appeal judges rejected that argument.

By all accounts, omicron is fantastic news. It promises to render the pandemic an endemic pathogen of wholly mild proportions.

In other words, pending an unexpected or so far unseen complication this is the one to let rip through the population to ensure partial immunity to any other strains.

I did see a subtle change in tone which makes me think the shithouse rats in health are going to try the following.

1: Hair on fire super mega virus shooting frikkin lazers from its eyes beatup.
2: Express happiness “the vaccines are working well”
3: Declare they were doing the right thing all along with this 2 years+ of mongoloidism and the lack of deaths to the super mega virus shooting frikkin lazers from its eyes proves it.

However the cat has been belled that its basically a flu already, they will have to juice up the fear and remove the ïts a mild strain”from the narrative before it will work.

They need to change the focus of recruiting from what the military can give them, and ask instead whether they’re tough enough to survive the military.

Way back when – the eighties – we had a bloke from the British Army, serving on exchange. His previous posting had been to a recruit training unit. His comment was that the whole system was changing, that this was a “generation growing up without fathers.” If you shouted at any of the little dears, they’d be on the phone to Mum that night, and she would be down at the main gate next morning to organize their discharge……

I have noticed before the advertising for the military is about what you will get out of it. Quite a whack of affirmative action as well.

If they were ever called to go into combat I can imagine a lot of people feeling they had been dudded. (I am assuming they continue feeding the belief that it is all about what the recruits will be getting out of it after they join as otherwise they will just try to get out.)

Smollett reported fake hate crime: court
Don BabwinAP
Tue, 30 November 2021 8:21AM

US actor Jussie Smollett staged a racist and homophobic assault and told police he was the victim after the television studio where he worked did not take hate mail he had received seriously, a prosecutor has told jurors.

The former-Empire actor maintains he was the victim in the January 2019 attack in downtown Chicago. But special prosecutor Dan Webb said the actor recruited two brothers he worked with to help him carry out the fake attack. He then reported it to Chicago police, who classified it as a hate crime and spent 3000 hours on the investigation.

“When he reported the fake hate crime that was a real crime,” Webb said.

Two brothers say Smollett paid them $US3500 to pose as his attackers on a frigid night in January 2019.

Webb was named as special prosecutor in the case after Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s office dropped the original charges filed against Smollett. A new indictment was returned in 2020.

Smollett, who arrived at the courthouse in Chicago on Monday with his mother and other family members, is accused of lying to police about the alleged attack and has been charged with felony disorderly conduct.

The felony carries a prison sentence of up to three years.

Jurors were sworn in late on Monday in a trial Judge James Linn said he expects to take about a week.

Whether Smollett, who is black and gay, will testify remains an open question. But the siblings, Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo, will take the witness stand where they are expected to repeat what they have told police officers and prosecutors: that they carried out the attack at Smollett’s behest.

30 South African white rhino relocated to Rwanda in a Boeing 747 (29 Nov)

Thirty endangered white rhinos arrived in Rwanda on Monday after a long journey from South Africa in a Boeing 747, conservationists said, hailing it as the largest single transfer of the species ever undertaken.

The majestic animals, which can weigh up to two tonnes, travelled some 3,400 kilometres (2,100 miles) from South Africa’s Phinda Private Game Reserve as part of a programme to replenish the species’ population, decimated by poaching since the 1970s.

Don’t think they’ll do very well just over the border from Tanzania and not all that far from the Congo, but the idea of a 747 flying around with 30 rhinos in it is fun.

Anyway, he’s just retired from commetating so I won’t have to wrestle with his accent or his race politics anymore. No doubt others will further the cause, which will ruin cricket.

As for Cummings, I had to laugh when a newspaper write up about how he would be an “activist captain” mentioned that he was “university educated”. The days when gaining university entrance meant you were especially bright were over decades ago.

An excellent point. It’s almost as if those campaigning the hardest for everyone else to lose their jobs and livelihoods and have the Big Four foreclose on their mortgages are either very comfortable indeed with no requirement to work for an income, or don’t have anything to throw in the bin and burn in the first place.

The point being, taking the jab will have you losing a lot more than just your job, and most likely your life.
The hell on earth unleashed by complying and submitting will have you shaking your head and saying, all I would have lost is a job,….., and only for a while, and maybe not at all if everyone else at your work just said no as well………for if we’d all refused we would not now be trying to exist in a bug eating, digital tyranny that makes 1984 look like a picnic in the meadow.
What did you give away to save a job , what did you trade?
Everything.
Evertything.
Your job included.
It’s now just a matter of time.
Not realising you were at war right from the start and needed to push back immediately has brought us to this point.
But those stating the obvious back then were considered conspiracy theorists and were drowned out by screaming Karens and sneerers who refused to believe it was happening.

Sharp rise in worry over racism as Aussies push back against far right

Most Australians now consider racism a significant problem in this country after a huge change in sentiment just within the past year, research reveals.

In the latest Scanlon Foundation social cohesion survey, 3500 people were asked “how big a problem is racism in Australia?” with six in 10 answering “very big” or “fairly big”, compared to 40 per cent just a year earlier.

And fewer people held negative views on Muslim Australians, multiculturalism and immigration compared to two years ago, the survey shows.

On whether Australia has a problem with racism, the July poll had large jumps in those who agree across all demographics, including age, gender, geography and political affiliation, though from different starting points.

Sixty-eight per cent of women said racism was a fairly big or very big problem; for men it was 50 per cent. But in 2020 it was 47 per cent of women and 31 per cent of men.

Fewer older Australians agree racism is a big problem, but the numbers are rising. For 65-74 year-olds, 49 per cent opted for “very big” or “fairly big” in answering the question, up from 28 per cent last year. This compared to 74 per cent of 25-34 year-olds, an increase from 53 per cent in 2020.

Labor (71 per cent) and Greens (88 per cent) supporters were more likely to be concerned about racism than Liberal/National (40 per cent) or One Nation (30 per cent) voters, but there were across-the-board rises for each political affiliation.

Report author, Monash University Emeritus Professor Andrew Markus, said it was difficult to pinpoint why there had been such a sudden upsurge in worry about racism in Australia.

“If there is a perception that an increased number of Australians are now acting in a racist manner, it is not based on a shift detected by other questions in the surveys, which establish that there has been no increase in xenophobic and racist views,” he said.

One of the commenters assures us that “first nations peoples were not recognized as human beings in this country, until the 1960’s.” So much stupidity, so little time…

Before drawing any conclusions you’d have to see how the questions were framed.

Be that as it may, I do wonder about the connection between racism and multiculturalism. Time was when migrants were expected to leave their prejudices behind and make a new start when they came to Australia. The fact is many of the world’s cultures are built on an ethnic pride which nurtures historical grievances against other peoples who exist only as a foil.

I went to the Sydney protest last weekend. It was a good mix of people, well behaved, many carrying signs of their own (rather than the ones that are mass printed by Socialist Alliance etc).

A lot of flags, too. I assume this is the racism we are supposed to be fretting about.

But there were some other agenda being snuck in. There was the smoking ceremony and a welcome to country. Then there was a chant of “Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land”. They also had the National Anthem. Two versions. The first was not in English but some other land. The English version came after.

On returning to Hyde Park I heard that traditional wisdom would help us through the pandemic. And the importance of “People, not profits”.

I thought the march had been hijacked, so I left at that point.

Heh.
Every single person I have spoken to that has actually lived in a country that they, or their parents, were not a native of has told me the exact same thing – Australia is NOT racist to anywhere near the level of those countries.
Sure, it exists – always has, always will.
But it is a very small minority and hardly “systemic”. Indeed, most of those people thought it was a little too far, rather than not far enough – that we should have a bit more respect for traditional Australian culture instead of kowtowing to the “foreigners” so much.
Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese, West Indian to name a few, living in countries NOT of their ancestry all said this.
Every.
Single.
One.
No exceptions.

I’m with Roger. How were the questions framed?
Guardian style opt-in online surveys abound.
Unless the methodology is demonstrated, it is prudent to assume it was a voluntary survey of Greens members.

Example: A couple of law/arts lecturers (note: not statisticians) at Sydney Uni conducted a “survey” that proved endemic widespread underpayment of fruit-picking backpackers.
The lecturers received hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants for the survey, & hundreds of thousands more for a second survey, so simply rehashed (hey, no need for accuracy, we’re not statisticians) some “results” from the survey & called it a “second” survey.

The methodology was opt-in online, with no block on a respondent doing multiple re-sits of the survey questions.
They “survey” is quoted far & wide by unions, by zealots who sprout “farmers exploit backpackers”, & the like.
Most of the IP addresses that responded were traceable to Sydney Uni.

Unless the Scanlon “survey” can demonstrate foolproof methodology, I’m calling bullshit.

* 3600€ fine or 1 month prison the first time
* 7200€ fine or 2 months prison the second time

A trial run for the rest of the world

….

Boosters in the UK will now move from 6 months to 3 months.

Let’s get this straight: this is state mandated drug dependency.

“(1:1 scale hobby and professional railroading has kinda got in the way)”

Once worked with a guy who restored full-size railway stuff to its “glory days” condition. From rusting junk to shiny paint and polished stainless steel – when finished, they sure were works of art, I’ll give him that.
But the time and effort that goes into it is truly stunning – especially the need for a full size railway siding to do the work on, which yes, he did have access to. Several years most of them took. Sourcing lead-based, turps solvent paint, brass thingamabobs that needed to be hand made, no real time or expense was spared on those carriages. I never met his wife, and he didn’t talk about her much, so maybe that is related 🙂

rickw, sounds like you are having waaay too much fun!
I used to read the books, but never built an engine. Took the kids when they were little to see Castledare Miniature Railway and to the model railway shows at the the Showgrounds. So many people doing brilliant work! A few younger people, a few older – and so many of the builders were two generations ago and are now late.
And even the full scale live steam guys were mostly a generation ago. We have ridden a number of steam-powered excursion trains whose support societies and home railway museums have dwindled over the years since.

I read something on a site yesterday which I came to via a Cat-link (vague enough for you so far?), which has me wondering whether or not to be worried.

This bloke suggested that with all health workers in a facility (hospital/community clinic etc.) vaccinated (as is mandated), the chance of the same health workers transmitting COVID-19 to their patients (because the vaccines theoretically reduce the symptoms of the virus) and turning the facility into a slaughterhouse, is quite possible.

I told this to a group of people at a community meeting this morning, but received only blank stares and a few eye-rolls in return.

If you’re vaccinated, and the vaccine reduces the symptoms you feel/display, then you are less likely to be aware you are a carrier, and, as a health worker, you could then unwittingly infect a ward of patients with compromised immune systems, and … blammo!

Does that sound reasonable or not? I’m nearing the point where I’m not as certain of reason and rationality anymore.

Cochrane Review of utterly useless Tamiflu suggested if Tamiflu had ever been used in a true ‘pandemic’ scenario it would have made it worse for that very reason. Slight masking of ‘symptoms’ and placebo effect made people who took it get out and about while they were still sick.

‘If an African customer comes to the bottle shop presses the button for assistant immediately!’ the message reads.

‘Minimum 2 staffs in front while we serve Africans.’

Kind of like that old Melbourne Asian saying:

If African* get on tram.
Get off tram.

*African woman can beat shit out of you, maybe more than African man, even if you a guy, get off tram!

Seen this first hand with my missus and her friends. Hey where you guys going? This isn’t our stop! Ok, I’m going to stay on the tram, see you there! (It was spontaneous, no discussion necessary, like a flock of birds taking flight when spotting a predator).

Missus: Did anything happen to you?
Me: Nah, I’m not Asian.

Heh.
Every single person I have spoken to that has actually lived in a country that they, or their parents, were not a native of has told me the exact same thing – Australia is NOT racist to anywhere near the level of those countries.

The other thing to remember is what counts as ‘racist’.

Asking someone if there is anything they can’t eat would be one. Or some dear showing interest in another person’s background when they are not inclined to talk about it will be taken as racist, I expect.

Reading this model train stuff set me thinking on my 12 years old grandson in Danistan .. luvs Lego Technic been into it since he was 7/8 .. anyway last year his Dad sez to him,
“Guess I’d better have my box of Lego sent over from NZ from when I was a kid”.
F/F 2 months and, said, box arrived .. turns out it weren’t just ordinary Lego but the BIG stuff from long before TECHNO .. trains, trucks, semis, boats etc .. models discontinued aeons ago & worth thousands if they ever hits EBAY ….. he rebuilt ’em all in 3 weeks ..
And one day, idiots relenting!, I might get to Danistan to see it all!

Very possible! Just had a series of “one more run!” On the sitting room-lounge line before his COVID enforced nap. Huge excitement over derailments and “clean” runs!

(My O Gauge anti derailment tricks are to tighten all the track joints with a nail pincer and ensure the rolling stock wheels have a light coating of oil so they are slippery and can’t climb out, may cause some initial engine traction problems but after a wipe down you normally hit the happy medium.)

A supermarket in Melbourne has been forced to apologise after taping a message to its register encouraging staff to racially profile African customers.

Sunshine West IGA in the city’s outer-west has come under fire after a customer shared the notice on social media, which calls for workers to use a ‘special button’ if an African person walks into the store.

‘If an African customer comes to the bottle shop presses the button for assistant immediately!’ the message reads.

‘Minimum 2 staffs in front while we serve Africans.’

Sunshine West IGA came under fire eh?… From whom?

This points to immigrant management.
1/. If the wording above is the same as the sign, it is written by NESB.
2/. That they put this in writing instead of informal but strongly reinforced verbal instruction.

The Venn diagram would be a circle: of wokesters who are insisting the management not take any action to protect staff from violence, & those who believe it is the job of management to protect ordinary workers from violence.

Also, none of the wokesters would be facing random violence at work & would have no idea what it is like to be defenceless & thrown to the wolves.

Could Omicron help slay the Delta ‘beast’?

The theory is that if a less virulent strain becomes dominant, more people will become infected but fewer will be critically sick. The virus, while still a problem, also becomes part of the solution: every person who recovers from a mild case is left with greater immunity against future infections than any of the current vaccines provide.

every person who recovers from a mild case is left with greater immunity against future infections than any of the current vaccines provide

So the SMH literally tells you that natural immunity is better immunity than the ‘vaccines’ give you. But if you say that you’re an ‘anti-vaxxer’ murderer.

Spare us.

I think maybe they’re trying to pivot out of this.

These aren’t gods we’re dealing with. They’re bugman. The bugman class is a nervous, pathological group. Mentally brittle, utterly vicious but so very weak – physically and mentally.

That is why they import their muscle, either foreigners, or the police that they have turned into their personal paramilitary.

The bugman must feel like he is in the majority group, on the right side of history, and also he must feel like everyone things that he is a Very Nice Person(tm). He must feel all of that while fighting the good fight against a rump of thick browed dinosaurs.

If public mood swings against him – as it is, he will collapse in a socially insecure heap.

May not run at all for Prez – at least, not in 2024.
But you’re right – he is very, very good. And not just in terms of how he handles the media, but also in the choices he makes – he doesn’t pick what’s popular, he reads the data, makes a choice and can defend it with facts when required.
As he rightly points out, if Florida is such a basket case and Cali and NY are so good, how come people are leaving those two states and flocking to Florida, Texas etc?

WHO Explains Why It Skipped ‘Xi’ When Naming New COVID-19 Variant Omicron

I call bullshit.

From the link:

“Two letters were skipped—Nu and Xi—because Nu is too easily confounded with ‘new’ and Xi was not used because it is a common surname and [the] WHO best practices for naming new diseases … suggest avoiding ‘causing offence to any cultural, social, national, regional, professional, or ethnic groups,’” the United Nations agency told The Epoch Times in a statement on Nov. 27.

In that case have they asked the Greeks what they think about co-opting their alphabet to keep track of a virus?
