Difference is that it’s got the CCP worried. How will they make export grade plastic dog shit if everyone is lying flat?!
PS Speedbox.
The government might put conditions on exit if you are planning re-entry.
But if you are leaving permanently, why would they care?
It is definitely a thing.
I just went through the process of getting travel exemption for myself and my kids above 12yo. Got lucky the third time. Had to sign a stat dec that I won’t come back earlier than three months (that’s the most likely category to get the exemption).
Calli, still the same story. I have until 22 Jan. In the meantime, have been looking for other jobs, so prayers are very much appreciated.
Gab have you tried looking in southern NSW? Plenty of businesses with no mandates there.
Thanks, RickW
Still doesn’t make sense. I’ll have to go through self-funded 14 days quarantine on the way back.
BTW, their on-line application portal doesn’t even have “leaving permanently” option. The closest one is “going for three months of more”.

Speedbox, again, you’re making the same mistake many here make – trying to apply logic and reason to AUS government dictates.
Yeah, I know. I always try to look at things logically and take a ‘real world perspective’ but lately, it just doesn’t seem to work out the way I thought it would/should.
But that is Razey’s situation.
If he says “leaving permanently” that should be a straight tick off, right?
I mean, they are only worried about people leaving and coming back fairly soon I reckon (two weeks in Bali).
Hence the “not less than three months” was easier to get.
What do you think are in all these boxcars and containers headed East and West and North and South, Shit Dribbler?
Or are you just being a particularly incompetent anklebiter again?
Lysander,
My pedantic friend says cognisant cats can make a cogent arguement.
But he has been wrong before.
Got lucky the third time.
Well done! And the world is your oyster, everywhere is less shit than Australia!
OK, John.
But if you tick the “three months or more” box, then (ahem) “change your mind” and emigrate permanently (as Razey plans to do) you don’t give a rat’s about the quarantine on return.
Mentioned here a fair bit. Lysander, I’ll add these three articles I saw today.

Having to wear stifling PPE all day, get injected with horrible stuff every six months, show your papers endlessly and be treated like dirt by government would incite anyone to find an alternative. Gearing down to earning less but being tormented less would look very attractive.
I’ll tell you a secret: I did this myself fifteen years ago and never looked back. Love God or money: choose one.
Don’t underestimate the attraction of pure spite.
How fortunate we are to have saintliness, condescension (in the Jane Austen sense) and intense self-absorption all available in one handy capsule.

Thanks Bruce; interesting times!
And…
You make a cogent point but can that make you cogent?
No. That is folks giving the Party a big two-fingered salute, as far as the Party is concerned, it is China. Right down to the smallest details of culture and tradition.
As such, industriousness is no longer a traditional Confucian virtue, for example. It has become a stipulated requirement for participation in Chinese society, to the point where laziness is a Social Credit negative. And the luxuries and other ‘rewards of working so hard are just more and more hooks with which the Party and it bugmen can exert control over you.
Imagine a fascist society that penetrated deeper into all of life and living than even East Germany’s state apparatus dared to dream, and you are looking at China.
It is dissidence without actually breaking any laws.
Gearing down to earning less but being tormented less would look very attractive.
Selling up and going to live on the farm is very attractive. The thought of not giving the fuckheads in Government $100k a year to molest me fills me joy.
Yes. As long as you don’t come back earlier than three months they wouldn’t care I guess.
I had a sore throat when I left hospital last week.
Thought it may have been from having to draw down 3or 4 durries when I made the trek from my room to where I could smoke.
But did I have Covid? Caught in hospital?
They did have Covid patients the other side of my ward.
Am I a survivor? How do I find out?
How much longer can Teh Worst survive in its death throes? I don’t even bother to pick up the free ones lying around in cafes anymore.
Covid infection will not provide jab exemption as people will therefore have a valid reason to not get a jab and a vaxx passport.
Vaxx passports are necessary for the next phase of tyranny, the digital identity system.
Hasn’t ‘lying flat’ in China got a lot to do with the reality of six day weeks working 9 til 9?
Am I a survivor? How do I find out?
Bind yourself and throw yourself into a body of water. If you sink, you’re a survivor.*
*Brett Sutton level science right there.
If you’re still alive, you are most certainly a survivor.

I wish. I will have to come back. And Kazakhstan looks a bit different after the last seven days. Still, they don’t force kids to get this stuff and recognise natural immunity.
Hope they open the Almaty airport soon.
If that happens, we’ll sell up and buy a house in the country for cash and go on the dole.

Lucky Pilot was pulled clear just before it hit.
I have no idea what this refers to.
And no, you shouldn’t have.
Maybe you should get back to posting soft porn for the old blokes, back when you told everyone you were 20-30 years younger. You know, all the stuff about your perky tits and bikini body.
Or how about some more excruciating updates on your sex life with the unfortunate Hairy, who turns out not to be Irish at all.
I will never soften my attitude to you, you serial liar and constant boaster. Even this late in life, it is worth being very careful before you deliberately make enemies, especially if you mistakenly assume that your gushing charm will always fix the problem later.
Sancho
But if you are leaving permanently, why would they care?
Because they get their thrills from exercising arbitrary power over The Lives of Others. Stasi!

On the other hand it might be as early as March when the entire international vaxx passport regime is dismantled.

Finally got my first personal knowledge of anyone who got you-know-what. The son of one of the motel cleaners tested positive, so she lost a week’s work.
His symptoms? She said he was a bit woozy, had a headache and a temperature, had to lie down for a day or two.
For that we should close down the economy?
If that is your Plan B, keep one eye on rural house prices.
I know two couples who sold up in rural Victorian towns, took the search for a replacement at a leisurely pace and ended up priced out.
One house in our town just sold for 42% more than it did 15 months ago.
Well, for me it looks like the first jibe is coming up this week… mandated. I don’t have the luxury of saying no as I have six mouths to feed.
If I get sick from it, do I call 000 or the Poisons Line?
As appealing as your offer sounds, Bespoke, I will have to decline.

Amyl Nitrate, for sure.
Rosie, I might be putting words in Razey’s mouth here, but I think relaxation of green ticks is not tye full story. I tjink his general dissatisfaction with Straya pre-dates Covid.

A car might be too obvious.
Great, great news. Victoria had 34,000 OFFICIAL cases. The lines are about a 4 hour wait, so my guess is that unless you need to go get tested, you stay away from a 4 hour wait. This means the real score, between those that can’t be fucked and the no-symptoms, the real figure is likely to be closer to 50K. We’re all going to get it and at a personal level I can’t wait. This doesn’t mean I’m going to go look to get it as it can find me, but if I get it, I don’t give a rats and I just want this fucking nightmare to end. This is two years now, FFS!
Lysander, if, God forbid, you get side effects, go to the hospital. To get your hands on the government’s compensation you need to spend at least one day at the hospital.

Yeah, I haven’t like the place for a long time. No where is perfect, but Aus certainly has declined baldy in the last few years.
Police bashing old ladies and the public celebrating it was the end.
Is there a breakdown of injected vs un-injected?
Haha, just got phone polled for half an hour by a polling company obviously doing it for the Libs. Must be an election coming! I have no idea what the nice lady thought of my responses: she was friendly and very professional.

Twatterer asks a cogent question: “If they didn’t know immunity would wane, how do they know there are no long-term side effects”
Nice one!
I should add that a lot of the questions were quite push poll flavoured. I suppose that’s the way of the world these days. But at least there was an agree strongly/somewhat/neutral/disagree somewhat/strongly choice on most, which gave fair leeway.
Judge at Joker’s trial said “he would be incandescent if Djokovic’s visa was cancelled by another Minister without prior notice to the Court”
Doesn’t sound to be onboard with the Mongocracy….
They DID know immunity would wane, and they DO know there are long term side effects.
But they do it anyway.

Ordinarily, I’d agree but mostly pertaining to his age, however this is special. Trump needs to run and win as a form a payback to the left. There’s water under the bridge but it’s not moving until he’s re-elected for the lies and the cheating committed against him. Payback is a bitch
Worth repeating.
Abject:
All the pain of having your policy illogic rubbed in peoples faces
+ the international humiliation of admitting the border fuckup
+ you have to rationalise your position without a legal figleaf – or do it all over again – this time with the whole world watching.
This will play until May.
Already abandon a country on the decline. Adjusting to the weird accent and customs for a second time is not something I would not contemplate yet.
Go you magnificent Serb bastard!
I really shouldn’t answer pollsters, but I had fun. So there’s that. The questions were an interesting insight into what Lib pollies are thinking about (cash cards, more cash cards and endless cash cards, no mention of anything like climate, covid or compulsion). I had to explain what a PhD was. I think she might’ve found a very unrepresentative member of society.
Don’t whatever you do, call me a Yugoslav. I did and he corrected me. telling me he’s Serbian , with a raised eyebrow. How the fuck do I know they’re so touchy about this shit. I guess it’s analogous to being called a Queen’s Lander when you’re a Victorian or NSW.

I believe opposing counsel’s last words to the Mag were something like, “well screw you, the Minister is going to overrule anyway”
what a fucking farce … rule of law my arse
I smelt this rat earlier this morning.
One of the reasons they rushed it was that “a change of shift was coming up”.
Wut?!?
Change of shift?
Sorry.
No-one in any law enforcement role can compromise due process because it is inconvenient (ie staff shortages, broken down testing facilities, lack of availability of transport etc).
But shift change?
That is the weakest excuse of the lot.
There would be handover protocols for cases in progress at shift change.
It strikes me that we had one of JC’s fat lezzo zealots running nightshift who knew that if it wasn’t done and dusted by the time the day shift arrived, the jig would be up.
And that’s the reason you’ve never got dates. Why the fuck would you want to be explaining what a PhD is to a gal handling a polling interview? She’s a call center chick. Stop acting like a silly geek and man up a little. Brucie, gals don’t get hot for geeky doofuses, particularly those with attitude. You want to know her reaction after she got off the phone?
There is always one question that one really doesn’t know how to answer because the answer when aggregated gives the opposite sense of what I intend as the answer, eg how happy are you with Scummos net 0? With the usual options . I am deeply unhappy, but know it will it be reported as ‘Scummo not going far enough’ rather than my intended ‘wtf was he thinking when he made that pledge?’.

Incidentally, strange as it sounds, this is the best long term result for the Immigration Dept.
It is accepted as a single case of a procedural fuck up, with no precedent for regular country shoppers.
I’m not familiar with the vagaries of our visa and immigration policy. But does the below
… have any impact on asylum seeker policy? In other words is this a backhanded way to reverse policy and give asylum seekers assistance to jump the regulatory hurdle?
If these reports are true, then we are more than an absolute joke:
Novak Djokovic’s court case began in a farce with technical glitches and even porn being streamed on the broadcast as users hijacked the public live stream.
Members of the public were able to tune into the court hearing online via a link but it seems the servers couldn’t cope with the number of people logging into the live feed as it crashed several times.
To begin with an old link to broadcast over Microsoft Teams hijacked with pornographic pictures and techno music before an alternative livestream set up by Federal Court staff crashed when the world’s media tried to log in.
If that wasn’t confusing enough, some people who could access the hearing posted unauthorised links on YouTube, which made it difficult to determine whether streams of the hearing were in fact live.
The rest of the world just keeps laughing at Australia…and I don’t blame them, there’s so much to laugh about.
Answer: “Science!”
Novak wins case against Australian government
Remy Varga (The Oz)
The federal court has overturned the decision to cancel Novak Djokovic’s visa, ordering the nine-time Australian Open winner be released from immigration detention within 30 minutes.
How sure are you about this, Sanchez. It just doesn’t sound right to me, no matter how morally in the right jokmeister maybe. It sounds like the judge is reversing law.

So now that Djokovic can enter Victoria without being jabbed for work, how about letting Victorians who are under threat of losing their jobs for not being jabbed do the same?
I believe opposing counsel’s last words to the Mag were something like, “well screw you, the Minister is going to overrule anyway”
Close to 1 in 50 Australians are “current active cases” and the clown troupe is playing Inspector Chisholm to the Arthur Daley of one single individual who’s got antibodies and has tested negative.

“The missus just back from Colesworth and meat section utterly and completely empty”
I went to Coles today about midday, no chicken or chicken schnitzels, very low on beef and lamb. No kitchen absorbent paper. A run on toilet paper. I did manage to get some long grain Basmati rice.
I suppose that now that we’re a communist shit hole we should get used to empty shelves.
Brought to us by a “Liberal” government. Thanks Scumbag.
The Moron Government has a silver tray of shit sandwiches laid out in front of it.
The biggest and thickest spread is having Alex Hawke exercise Ministerial discretion and turf Dokovic. It’s also the only one that Scummo currently doesn’t have to eat.
Surely not…
On a bit more reflection I think it’s interesting the poll seemed carefully crafted not to appear like a politics poll (which is what it was). It started unpolitical and got increasingly political with an eventual “who did you vote for in last election” question maybe 20 minutes in. Now that may be because the Libs are funding it from government dosh, or perhaps they’re having trouble getting respondents to political polls. Not sure which, although embracing the cleansing flavour of “and” could be plausible too.
So now that Djokovic can enter Victoria without being jabbed for work, how about letting Victorians who are under threat of losing their jobs for not being jabbed do the same?

Discovered on Saturday morning when getting into the car to go for a drive that the rear view mirror had fallen off the windscreen.
Rang a windscreen replacement mob for a quote to get it reattached – told them the problem, after a bit of a wait “oh, you still there? – we can do it but it will cost $150”.
Yeah, no. Rang the local panel beater who informed me that I may have to replace the entire windscreen (which he couldn’t do). Taking it in tomorrow to see if he can easily fix it.
Anyone got any suggestions, please? I’ve bought some double sided adhesive tape, but haven’t tested it out yet.
In the strictest way possible, I’m not sure i agree with the judgement. At least I’m not sure it’s great for us. The government should have to right to turn anyone away any time they want at the border. I don’t believe they even should be forced to give a reason. This nothing to do with the Jokmeister, but I’m a little concerned it may have usurped immigration laws.
We should… the government should… always reserve the right to decide who is allowed to enter the country and not a fucking court.
This is why he was always last to be picked in scratch footy matches at school.

DPF compatible SAE 5-30W.
Agreed; in which case they shouldn’t have granted him a visa in the first instance.
Once they had done so he has avenues of appeal to any deportation notice.
And in this case it’s not as though he was Joe Bloggs concealing a criminal conviction from 10 years ago.
Dunno, JC.
But it seems that Djoker had correctly applied for a visa (exactly as the 50,000 exemptions before him had done) so it was a simple fuck up.
That, coupled with the breach of due process, means it should be – dare I say it – quarantined from other immigration cases.
It won’t stop the SJWs trying, of course.
My money is on some dim bulb on nightshift deciding that “they knew” his story about catching the bug in December was all bullshit.

Unusual to my introversion, I quipped “you’ll be dead before me.”
(The woman may or may not have been a doctor).
This appears to be the judge’s rationale, if The Oz is correct
The government acknowledged it had not given Djokovic enough time to make his case while he was being held after arriving in the country.
The decision to revoke Djokovic’s visa was “unreasonable”, because Djokovic had been told, at 5.20am on January 6, that he could have until 8.30am to respond to officials.
The call to cancel the visa happened before that deadline, at 7.42am, robbing Djokovic of time he could have used to “consult others” and make further submissions on his own behalf.
i.e. procedural. No ruling on the important issue of 6-month immunity after having covid.
Correct, Rosie.
The Party has pushed the line that all Good and Successful Comrades only work themselves to exhaustion. Using the old Chinese ideal of industriousness and striving, to the point of physical and psychological abuse.

Been reading back on The Conservative Woman and struck a story about nepotism and council housing.
What was interesting in the comments was how people from the UK said that (just like here) public housing degenerated from being provided to poor people who wanted to better themselves to those who are now described as ‘vulnerable’ – the mentally ill, alcoholics and druggies, chronic criminal offenders and so on.
And, just like here, people were moved into often shoddy high rises, with poor if any maintenance. You know, fogged up double windows, chronically broken down lifts, urine and feces and syringes in the stairwells, that kind of thing.
Initially, UK public housing was updated terrace houses – 3 bedrooms and a bathroom, a front and back yard. But then the towers took over.
In context, the slums in Britain’s big cities were appalling. While the Empire boomed, people in those cities lived in squalor. In the 1920s, there were shared water pumps and privies in London Liverpool, Birmingham – and as for Scotland – shudder.
If you look at the huge ‘stately houses’ in England and Scotland, they make the follies of our tech gurus look like dollhouses.
If you consider what it would have cost to build and staff them in today’s prices, maybe one or two of the top guys could afford it, in a world where there is a lot more money.
The UK ruling class has done a great con job for centuries, drama and television on hand. The latest is that Boris’ FIL is getting just short of a million pounds a year for windmills on his country estate.
Well, since I’m on a roll now about my introversion and quips…

How about Trump going for a safe seat in Florida, the Repubs sweep the mid-terms, Trump becomes Speaker? That would really upset the DemonRats!
Roger, I’m sure the law offers the government ample grounds to reverse a visa application at any time and would be crafted in such a way where it doesn’t have to give a reason. Perhaps I’ve got it wrong. Dunno. More than anything else, I’m just asking questions that’s all. I hope this isn’t a leftwing runaround, that’s all.
Damn straight.
I can’t decide whether this is a simple fuck up, or a cunning plan gone wrong.
I can just picture his Millenial advisers cooking up a plan to turn Djoker around in the middle of the night, with ScoMo appearing on breakfast TV telling everyone that “Djoker is now heading home with his tail between his legs and I, ScoMo, am the toughest guy evah!”
I have seen (intellectually lazy) conservatives say Lying Flat and Anti Work is just about lazy people and gibs.
No.

Well done, Lysander!
Went to the local IGA (South Australia) this arvo, meat aplenty. Porterhouse steaks, sausages, big chunks of ham. Pleasantly surprised and now fully stocked up. 🙂
That seems to be correct. Procedural fairness – but no sign of any position on the substance of the matter.
Hence the risk that Mr Rules Are Rules will go for round 2, revoke the visa, and see whether the government can make a bad situation worse.
Gab (and a few other erudite Cats*) is one of the reasons I came to Catallaxy. She was a frequent poster back then – in fact, a few years later she won the Most Posts in a Year award – and I found myself nodding, agreeing with her every word.
Philippa welcomed me with virtual afternoon tea, (I’m still chuffed about that) and Gab, too, quickly made me feel at home. The topic at that time referred to a news item (somewhere) that conservative women were happier with their lives than lefty women. I agreed with Gab who agreed with Philippa who agreed with all the other women on this excellent site.
*Too many brilliant Cats have left the site, or post infrequently – Deadman, Helen of Tasmania, John Constantine, to name a few – but we still have our stalwarts: CL, JC, Dover, Cassie and of course, Gab. They keep The Cat rocking.
They’ll no doubt try.

Normally I’d say public service snafu, but this government’s capacity for ineptitude can’t be overestimated.

As to how to do it…
I could do this. A touch of diethylsulfide, a tiny bit of selenophenol and maybe some allyl hydrosulfide for depth and breadth. One cent worth of chemicals and a 20 cent plastic sample jar. Plus postage.

Went to the local IGA (South Australia) this arvo, meat aplenty. Porterhouse steaks, sausages, big chunks of ham. Pleasantly surprised and now fully stocked up. ?
Nobody lives in SA.
WA premier – leading a state increasingly falling under the influence of Beijing and less of Canberra, starts to channel his spiritual leader in Chairman Mao:
Any politician uttering the menacing threat “otherwise life is about to get very difficult for you” in regards to not getting any medical procedure should be arrested and removed from power immediately.
This country is really scraping the absolute bottom of the barrel right now.
So now Novak can enter the country, how long until the king of Danandrewstan uses his shiny pandemic legislation to block him from playing or otherwise screwing with him?
We should… the government should… always reserve the right to decide who is allowed to enter the country and not a fucking court.
The Parliament has the right to make immigration laws.
“The government” i.e. the bureaucrats have to implement the laws. And they have to implement the laws the way they’re written, not the way they’d like them to be or the way any politician wants them to be.
And in a case like this the Courts’ job is to interpret the laws properly and then determine whether the bureaucrats have carried out the administration of the laws properly.
JC, if you’re advocating for a legislative regime which makes it easier for would-be entrants to get punted, I agree in principle although I think we all know that it would in practice be used to shut out high profile conservatives and not be used to shut out grievance-mongerers, voteherds or population ponzi scheme TAFE students.
But the legislative regime is what it is, at least for the time being.
As best I can tell the Court hasn’t even said that the bureaucrats don’t have power to punt Djokovic, but only that the bureaucrats didn’t bother to go through the legislated process, and so weren’t validly exercising the power even if they do have it.
I don’t have a problem with the decision per se, irrespective of the result. The Court was doing the right thing (or at least trying to) by insisting that the bureaucrats obey the law. If Parliament gives them power only to do things in a prescribed way, they shouldn’t be allowed to impose restrictions on people in any other way.
I got bailed up by a protestor urging support for David Hicks – I pointed out that, captured as he was, with no rights under the Geneva Convention, he could have been shot out of hand, with the full blessing of international law..
In breaking news: Novak Djokovic makes it through to the next round of the Australian not so Open.
Go you magnificent Serb bastard!
If you’re granted a visa by the government they should have to provide a reason for its reversal. You can’t have people incurring costs relating to flights, moving, what have you, and have some officer, whether its the official at the airport through to the Minister, changing their mind without some substantive reason, at the eleventh hour, refusing you entry.
That would be a denial of natural justice.
Thanks all, especially Zatara – I’ll be off to buy the adhesive tomorrow. Hopefully it will cost somewhat less than $150.
I think the December argument is also BS. He was seen out and about in December without a mask. Given he knew he was coming to Aus and his manager would be following up on the entry rules they created the infection story to get them through.
I don’t know how this swings legally because in immigration matters isn’t it beholden on the immigrant to provide proof they have met the requirements?
Indeed – what a loathsome fascist deadshit.
Buy a suction capped rear vision mirror from super cheap. You know you want to.
Nothing brilliant about Cruz. Just another RINO pretending not to be a RINO. Bruce is right. It’s funny how people like him let it slip what their real disposition is. I’m sorry I wasted my money on his book (which turned out to be pretty boring anyway).
On the bright side, that means we can’t go any lower, right?
We call it procedural fairness these days.
When is the latest ScoMo(dead man shuffling) need to take a trip to the Governer General?
It’s got be be pretty soon right
They are murdering people left right and centre and simply pretending that it’s not happening – and threatening medical staff to stop them revealing the truth.
Any politician uttering the menacing threat “otherwise life is about to get very difficult for you” in regards to not getting any medical procedure should be arrested and removed from power immediately.
This country is really scraping the absolute bottom of the barrel right now.
Yes these people can fuck right off. Who the hell do they think they are. One thing they are is insane and evil.
I think I might have split my sides.
The Lying Flat issue in China should be seen in relation to the 996 work life. I don’t blame them for Lying Flat. What’s the point of living like that?
Perhaps people are bowing out of the rat race because they have accumulated enough or are fed up with all the unpaid overtime.
BTW DOT I recall John Humphrey stating that he thought people spent too much time at work.
“otherwise life is about to get very difficult for you.”
Adolf and Joe are smiling.

Our Colesworth, in inner city Brisbane, is the pretty much the same. Also apparently getting thin on bread and veggies.
Yet next door the butcher has full cabinets. As has the baker and the greengrocers.
So it looks like the indie supply chain is somehow faring better than Big Grocery’s.
Must be a reason behind that…
Choo choo man, I am only trying to help.
Maybe increase your dosage?
That is not an improvement.
Okay, very good, thanks for the explanation.
The facts of the case wont be considered by average Joe.
The only thing average Joe will know is that the government lost, and the Joker won.
Eat shit you government scum.
Adolf and Joe are smiling.
Another line has been crossed by our despicable pollimuppetts-
1. First line when they set about impoverishing us with mass migration and expensive, unreliable electricity (little Johnny hoWARd’s RET)
2. Second line when they actually start abusing the demos and making threats
At least someone appreciates my work.
Other than offering consistency in immigration and visa laws, why do we owe foreigners natural justice? I think we don’t owe them a thing in that respect.
Novak was asked to provide evidence to
back up his visa declaration,
The dicks from Border Farce took his phone away so he couldn’t do this.
The Judge was very unimpressed
I think he’s been re-arrested.
Maybe I think that it is bullshit too.
But an immigration official has no right to assume it is. If he ticked all the procedural boxes, game over.
Just another example of some overly officious dick making it up on the fly. Stick to catching Chinese with undeclared smokes and 1,000 year old eggs.
As for him not masking up, so what?
He didn’t twelve months previously when he ran his own tournament and half of those there had Kung Flu.
In and of itself, it is proof of nothing.
Actually the politicians abusing the citizenry is not new, only more blatant. From the late 80s or early 90s ‘a spokeswimmin for Mr Dawkins said Australians should take a long hard look at themselves’. Lindsay Tanner was pretty big on it too iirc. Evil trash.

Newsflash to those having a meltdown: VIC alone has granted hundreds of exemptions to arrivals on the basis of recent prior infection. A few months ago DHS extended their criteria from being within the last 3 months to within the last 6. The only difference is people didn’t know.

Also given federal doesn’t manage quarantine or state restrictions (as we all know) they don’t grant exemptions. States do. So feds have also let hundreds of ppl in where again the only difference is ppl didn’t know. How do ppl think the others granted exemptions just walked in?
Even foreigners have legal rights, JC, especially so once we’ve voluntarily admitted them to our legal jurisdiction.
On double-sided sticky tape. Some of that stuff is extremely strong.
Example – Command hooks. I have one of the big metal ones for the Christmas wreath that I hang on the front door. It’s one of those finger-crushing pivots in timber and glass, enormous and heavy. I didn’t want to knock a pin into the timber and damage it, so on went the hook – stuck to the glass.
The wreath is heavy and loaded with pine cones and flowers and other Christmas finery. The breezes here are strong. But the thing never moved.
On the 6th, down it came. The wreath was easy – unhook. The “command” hook was disobedient and took much…much effort and scraping and elbow grease to remove from the glass. Which, in a way, was reassuring. I’ll use it next year too.
I reckon Eyrie’s advice is best – there must be adhesives that will do the trick. But just make sure the glass is clean for a good bond, and let the stuff cure.
Hopefully as he’s just about to serve in his first match of the open, VicPol storm the court.
And not just any VicPol, it will be the all stars.
The plod who pepper sprayed nanna on the ground.
The plod who stomped the head of the mental patient.
And who could forget the plod who snatched grandma’s phone.
Two words, JC: sovereign risk.
Depends.
The Government ambushed Djokovic after he had crossed all the ts and dotted all the i’s and they gave him the all clear.
If they can do it to him, they can do it to you.
There’s about 74,000 Serbian Australian residents (2016 Census) so that’s about another 74,000 votes that Morrison won’t get. He’s doing a better job at destroying the Liberal Party than his predecessor.
The largest enclave is around Liverpool in Sydney’s west. Isn’t that part of Craig Kelly’s electorate?
Which would explain Craig Kelly’s apology to Novak with Serbian subtitles.
BoN – rest assaured that many of us ignore the ignorant assaults on you by The Sicilian [sorry, no; there are jackals lurking].
His knowledge of science could be encapsulated in the nostrils of one of his concrete lions.
You are right to ignore, but as someone who has known you from the early Climate Wars – nil carborandum and so on.
For occasional readers, Bruce of Newcastle is a long standing warrior in the Climate Wars, with credentials that go way back, more than 20 years.
He was around on Bishop Hill, Watts Up and other sites long before they became even acknowledged by the mainstream.
I know who he is, because things were looser back in the old days. But, you will never hear it from me.
He chooses not to get into stoushes here, unlike someone who keeps trying to start one.
That person is a very unattractive man.
Gosh, that was a boring Twelfth Night story.
Next I’ll tell you about my adventures pulling down the Christmas tree. Clark Griswald would be proud.
It were always rainin’ on Denley Moor…
“The largest enclave is around Liverpool in Sydney’s west. Isn’t that part of Craig Kelly’s electorate?”
No…miles away from Hughes….Kelly’s electorate.
Labor were big on mindless stupidity in Hawke’s time.
Immigration Minister Christopher Hurford-Jones cancelled the visa for The Platters on the grounds that none of the Band were members of the original Platters.
From memory, the Courts had to restore sanity that time as well.
CL
You mean that if we don’t offer consistency we couldn’t be trusted financially etc? I can see that aspect, but I’m not suggesting we should remove it. It’s just that I don’t believe it should be held as a right by foreigners. I’m not sure what the exact term is, but constitutional rights are extended to foreigners in the US, but it’s not a right in the same way that these rights are held by citizens. There’s some term that I forget, but it’s something like it’s extended as a gift.
Liverpool is Fowler.
Comfortably Labor.

Seriously, just fuck off.
Who else should immigration law apply to?
Kyrgios is out of the Open.
He has covid.
No symptoms.
why don’t we just call him an anti-vax pig and lock him up as an example to all the others?
@ Dot-
Also Newcastle or Collie run-of-mine.
Ideally <5% impurities, and preferably fist-sized or marginally smaller…
Swings and roundabouts.
Scotty now flavor of the month with Croats and Albanians.
Mind you, if Novak is a devout Orthodox Christian, which I sorta suspect he is, then seeya later Greeks, Russians, Syrians, Armenians, Assyrians, Chaldeans …
iirc, Chris Hurford tried to throw El Hilaly out of Australia back then. Sadly he got over ruled by Keating and Leo Mcleay who preferred to keep him here. Gotta play nice with good Labor voters.
Grigs trying to cop a Serb.
You go, Slav. Before the Slavs go on you, Grigory…
More than that, non-citizen’s rights are explicitly protected in several of the Amendments.
This would go to the founders’ belief that some – but not all, e.g. voting – rights are due to be recognised simply by being a human being.
I believe he is. The Greek & Croatian flags were flying outside the court house.
Scummo is fucked.
