Bruce,
You probably went to school with Mrs Diogenes. She left at the end of year 10 in 1977.

Now, just imagine for a moment if this was Scott Morrison, or any Coalition politician or in fact any white male in the same position as Ms Webb. But this is the sisterhood in action. Why am I reminded of Christine Nixon and Catherine Burn…..

“Police Commissioner Karen Webb attends Maserati event amid NSW flood crisis

While her rank-and-file officers risked their lives and pulled bodies from raging torrents, police commissioner Karen Webb posed for photographs at a luxury car dealership.

While her rank-and-file officers risked their lives and pulled bodies from raging torrents on Tuesday, newly appointed police commissioner Karen Webb managed to find time in her busy schedule to pose for snaps at a luxury car dealership.

Ms Webb attended an International Women’s Day event at Sydney’s exclusive Maserati dealership which is linked to her husband.

She was photographed on social media smiling as she stood in front of the blue bonnet of one of the $400,000 opulent cars.

She had earlier visited a private girls’ school. Neither of the events were promoted by NSW Police media.

The event raised money for Police Legacy and the invitation came through Ms Webb’s husband’s contacts.

The new commissioner, who has yet to front a media conference since being sworn in to the top job on February 1, had visited Burwood girls’ school MLC, which charges up to $47,525 a year.

She was the star speaker at the high-end event at Maserati’s Alexandria headquarters with a photo posted on social media about 6.30pm by TV presenter and model Kate Peck.

On Wednesday night, a spokesperson for Ms Webb said she had celebrated International Womens’ Day by attending several events across the week “in line with her focus on rebuilding connections for NSW Police with a broad spectrum of the NSW community’’.

The spokesperson added Ms Webb’s “keynote address’’ at the Maserati function was on the topic of “breaking the bias’’.

“The event raised $36k for Police Legacy, and the (PCYC), two charity organisations close to Commissioner Webb’s heart,’’ the spokesperson said.

“In the past seven days Commissioner Webb has attended the Northern Rivers Region twice and the Windsor/Nepean area relating to the flood response. (Ms Webb) is so proud of the efforts of all NSWPF officers who day after day go above and beyond to protect their communities.’’

In a post about her appearance at the Maserati function, Ms Peck wrote: “Meet the first ever female NSW POLICE COMMISSIONER. You don’t get more BOSS than that. Karen Webb, a true honour to interview you for International Women’s Day with @maseratiau @maseratisydney. May the force be with you because women world wide are.”

Talent manager Marina Paul also shared images from the event on social media.

“Meeting her & listening to what it takes to get the top cop job & what her plans are was so insightful & inspiring,” Ms Paul wrote on Instagram.

“Absolute respect to you Karen!”

At 8.30am on Tuesday, Police Rescue and the SES pulled the bodies of Hemalathasolhyr Satchithanantham and son Bramooth from Coopers Creek Canal at Wentworthville as the death toll from the NSW floods late Wednesday reached eight.

Ms Webb’s husband Marc Webb works in the luxury car market and in 2016 loaned a $560,000 McLaren 650S Spider and a Bentley Continental GT dressed in police livery to the force as part of a community engagement program.”

It seems that the nonsense known as International Women’s Day takes priority over a national disaster. Priorities.

ACT government went bad from the instant it was created – after a referendum rejected the idea. It has progressed from bad to worse.

They kept running the referendums and getting “No” votes until they gave up and did it (“self-government”) anyway.

The “flawed” prosecution case against Zachary Rolfe consists only of “armchair experts” assembled by police bosses in a disgraceful bid to justify their unjustifiable charges, according to defence lawyers in the constable’s murder trial.

Appropriating a phrase used by a prosecutor accusing the 30-year-old constable of lying to “justify the unjustifiable” shooting of Kumanjayi Walker, defence lawyer David Edwardson QC suggested it was the crown’s case that ought to be on trial instead.

“Zachary Rolfe was arrested within four days of this tragic shooting,” he told the NT Supreme Court. “A young man lost his life, and a young, courageous police officer has been charged with the most serious charge known to the criminal law … without any proper investigation, and that, you might think, is a disgrace.

“The executive of the Northern Territory Police Force and those they deployed to justify these charges, you might think, have thrown everything at Zachary Rolfe because of a decision that should never have been made.

“In truth, this prosecution is, you might think, all about the executive of the Northern Territory Police Force attempting to justify what was the unjustifiable.”

Seriously though, what other effects has Covid had on the brain? I suspect more widespread and far more serious is the drop in cognitive function caused by government imposed isolation, particularly in the young and very old and some vulnerable groups.

I wonder if any studies will be done in this area? It may yield some surprising results.

I have wondered what would break the spell that the population has been under with the COVID/ vaccine duplicity.

It seems that the answer is other catastrophes viz the Floods, the Ukraine debacle and so on. The evidence? Overheard ( I generally try to ignore breakfast TV that husband likes to listen to) Stefanovic tell Nick Chatsworth that he is “over” getting vaccinated & wont get the normal flu vax this year!

So, my theory is that the these new distractions somehow allow people to suddenly detect incongruities in other areas. Attention turns to other dramas. Just my theory.

Amid endless demands for the government to “do something”, pause to reflect on this for a moment.
When billions are needed for fire damage, flood damage, or drought relief, they should be readily available – but what about the billions spent in various governments over-reacting to COVID?
We now have such a big deficit that it won’t be paid down in our lifetime, or our chidlrens’ lifetimes.
That’s before we get to the damage caused to businesses and individuals by the lockdowns and tyrannical movement restrictions.

If there are any more vax mandate protests, those involved won’t just be smeared as far right, neo nazi, tinfoil hat, anti vaxxers.

The vaccines have triggered a very specific response, which may well have initiated the explosion in the archaic Omicron variant and leaves our immune system open to variants that don’t look exactly like delta.

The “I’m so over it”, will become fashionable soon.

Some of the backflips have been amazing. Austria was full-on totalitarian mandatory vax for everyone or massive fines. Now…

Failed Experiment: Austria Suspends ‘Not Proportionate’ Forced Vaccination Requirement (9 Mar)

After months of threatening to enforce the measure with fines and possibly even imprisonment, Austria has suspended its regime of forced vaccination.

However, despite the threats, the regime of forced vaccination did not seem to have a significant positive effect on vaccine uptake.

A Kronen Zeitung report in February claimed that the mandate had no positive effect on the number of people getting jabbed in Vienna, with vaccination figures even appearing to decrease in the capital with the introduction of the measure.

This claim now appears to be backed up by Der Spiegel, who reports that forced jabs had “practically no effect in Austria”, saying only around 26,000 individuals got vaccinated against the disease since the beginning of February while the rule was in force.

Indeed, figures from the country’s health ministry suggest that just under a million people remain unvaccinated against the Chinese Coronavirus in defiance of the mandating order, roughly 13 per cent of the German-speaking country’s population.

That is pretty amazing defiance. It also means there are now a lot of extremely furious people in Austria. I wonder how that will play out next election?

“breaking the bias’’

I saw that at in a company meeting. They went on to highlight ‘unconscious bias’ – another anti-humanist excuse note from feminist activists letting their kids off from having to be able to prove their point.

All they need do is accuse you of something and there it is. You can’t deny it because you are unconscious of it.

The intellectual laziness of the left is staggering, is it not? They get their degrees and masters and PhD’s and think that the intellectual rigour those things used to represent is now theirs, mistaking form for essence.

Worth looking at the article on ivermectin that is there as well.

For those who keep citing articles that support the case of the Gov/Pharma/Medical apparatus, read very carefully including the link to the article on the use of IV Vitamin C in sepsis. Read the conclusions and then look at the tables.

Most medical (but almost certainly “The Science”) articles published in at least the last 10 years need to be very carefully considered.

A fascinating article via Instapundit. I’ll link the Instapundit post because they like that.

LAUGHING WOLF: The Puzzles In Play, And The Missing Pieces. (9 Mar)

Aside from mores (see discussion here), one of the most common mistakes in analysis comes from thinking that the events taking place are a single jigsaw puzzle. That if we can just find all the pieces and get them in place, the picture will be complete and allow complete understanding of who, what, why, when, etc.

Real life, however, is never that neat. No matter how hard anyone, analyst or politician, tries to pound things flat into and into that ideal picture, the 3-D mess just keeps popping back up.

In this case, the “main” jigsaw puzzle is the Russian invasion of the Ukraine. Far too many are presenting it as a nice, simple, 2-d event. What’s worse, some of those so doing are setting policy, and 2-d policy rarely works in what truly is almost an [infinity]-1 environment. As for others, well, social media is full of them.

Within this puzzle reside quite a few others. In fact, the actual number of puzzles/dimensions is a bit staggering, so I’m going to try to simplify it without over-simplifying it.

In any respects, the prime intersecting puzzle is Vladimir Putin himself. …

Very long but fascinating. And quite scary. Don’t miss the article on how things work in Russia, which he links. I would say it also describes exactly how things work in Ukraine too.

I really don’t know how this is going to turn out, but sheepstations are on the betting table and these articles are fine explainers of what a sheepstation is and what makes it work (metaphorically of course).

Despite the liking they have for their own snipers, the Russians have a long history of the answer being pound it flat with artillery, then make the rubble bounce. Meanwhile, Ukrainians armed with RPGs and machine guns are saying Russians may enter Kiev but they won’t be leaving. One can admire their bravery but not their stupidity. There’ll be little of Kiev left standing if they take that route. It is hoped Zelensky, whose rhetoric is becoming increasingly intemperate, comes to his senses and negotiates a settlement before that happens.

And when the fighting is over, Ukrainians and anyone else with a modicum of intelligence, including China & Iran, will be asking, “What worth are American security guarantees?”

Internet has ben dicky since Tuesday. First I noticed the NBN box was showing only the power LED. Checking the NBN website it swore up and down that there were no outages in my area. SO I contacted the provider (TPG) who raised a ticket and said they would look into it.

Next morning the NBN box is back to normal, but I am unable to connect to the net. The ‘Internet’ LED on the modem was intermittent but I was patient. The provider website said there would be issues until 4:00. No internet until about 9:00.

This morning no internet again. NBN box fine, ‘Internet’ indicator on. I call the Provider, we reset a password, she swore up and down (must be a very incestuous industry) that it ought to be working. She said that NBN was doing some work in the area which would be affecting me.

Go to the NBN site and it says there are no outages at my address. The website does not really offer help – just fobbing people back to their providers.

Global Governments Begin Warning of Critical Food Shortages
March 9, 2022 | Sundance | 331 Comments

First things first, there is no need for panic, and it is important to remember the United States is a net food exporter. The U.S. is blessed with a food production and capacity industry that leads the world. We have fertile land, abundant harvests and the strong advantage of food independence.

That said, the influence of multinational corporations in our agriculture industry over the past three decades has ramifications, and we have outlined exhaustively, on these pages, what the real-world consequences are. As we head into a chapter of global food crisis, the food production capacity of the United States can be viewed as an asset, but only insofar as we are willing to secure a national food supply for our own America-First interests.

What we have talked about prudently on these pages is now coming into greater focus, as global leaders are beginning to prepare their own citizens for the long-term consequences of their disruption to the food supply chain.

The meteor of government intervention hit the ocean back in the spring of 2020, when government intervened in the food supply process, the tsunami -the ripple effect from that intervention- is now within sight of shore.

I’m not going to repeat the history here. CTH readers already know the details {Go Deep} – for everyone else, use the site search function. As a result of intervention, global COVID intervention, food stocks were depleted. Combined with increased energy costs, driven by the ideological chase for climate change under the guise of ‘Build Back Better,’ we end up with higher fertilizer costs for this year.

The ripple effect becomes a tsunami, and the next round of global food harvests becomes more critically important and simultaneously more expensive. For the past three months, the sound of the alarms have grown louder. Now, people are really starting to pay attention.

Google Deletes Oliver Stone Documentary “Ukraine on Fire”, Western Government and NATO Afraid of Truth?
March 9, 2022 | Sundance | 280 Comments

In a remarkable display of propaganda and Big Tech effort to erase history, thereby shaping public opinion, YouTube, which is owned by Google Inc, has deleted the award-winning Oliver Stone documentary “Ukraine on Fire.” Apparently, the truth about the history of Ukraine is against the interests of the current global order who are seeking to exploit the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

In response to the effort by Big Tech, NATO, the collective western governments and World Economic Forum, the producer, director and copyright owner Igor Lopatonok has released the copyright and made the documentary available for open download [Vimeo LINK]. It is also now available for viewing on this {Direct Rumble Link} and shared below.

It is in the interest of NATO and the current Biden Administration, that people do not fully understand the Nazi history of Ukraine. The Oliver Stone documentary is well sourced and cited, and apparently a concern for the collective west.

The solution to Big Tech control efforts, is a wider distribution.

I’m Not ‘Brave’; You’re Just a P—y (7 Mar)

Some people who love me advised me not to write this essay, and not to use its current title. “Take the high road,” I was advised.

Usually that is a good idea, but not in this case — not at this moment. In this essay I need to talk about some people — mainly privileged people, people who could make a difference in areas where most can’t — who are trying to justify their monumental, world-changing cowardice, at a time when we all need to be at least somewhat brave.

I am done with tolerating this quietly.

I don’t know what psychology is causing this version of the International Brigades, although nearly a century of Russophobia may contribute to it. Yes there’s a reasonable historical basis for a lot of Russophobia/Sovietophobia but the current response is oddly hyperbolic.

Well, this is interesting:

Stefanovic says he has had ENOUGH of vaccines after Covid shots

Ex-deputy chief medical officer Dr Nick Coatsworth on Thursday morning urged Australians to get their annual influenza booster ahead of the flu season this winter.

‘It’s hard to predict if it will be a good or a bad season,’ he told the Today show.

‘The best thing to do, if your immune memory is not so good, is to give it a boost with a vaccine from the age of six months of age and older.’

But the breakfast host admitted to feeling fatigued about vaccinations after repeatedly rolling his sleeve up to get immunised against Covid-19.

‘I’m making this revelation on national TV – you can say whatever you want but I’ve had my fill of vaccines. I know it’s irresponsible and I shouldn’t be saying it but I don’t want it anymore,’ Stefanovic said.

This kind of thing is important, as it gives the many who have been nervously keeping their opinions about the vaxx regime to themselves the spine to start speaking their minds. And when that starts happening, it makes those people realise there are a lot more like-minded people out there than the government propaganda had deceived them into believing. This kind of snowball effect is a mortal threat to institutional narratives.

“Struth says:
March 10, 2022 at 10:22 am

You’d almost suspect Putin being in on it, looking at the way he’s not really putting a 100% effort in.”

Maybe.
But I rather suspect that:
1) Trump appeared to be someone he could trust to do the right thing and had already started down the path of cleaning up the corruption from his end as much as he could;
2) Trump was politically naive and unpredictable, and may just have carried out his threat to “bomb Moscow”, so better hold back a bit
End result: get ready in case things go pear shaped, but give DJT a chance to fix things. But as soon as the “corporeal form only” president got in, it had gone pear shaped, so time for plan B.
Why would Putin want to destroy a country he’s “invading”(west perspective)/”liberating”(Russian perspective)? Slow and careful not only matches the “liberation” narrative, it’s cheaper and shorter in the end. The miscalculation was the propaganda war and how much social media is in the US lefts pocket – that destroyed the “optics” advantage of slow and careful, but not the financial one.

I don’t think Putin is crazy – but his outlook is very different. Nothing he has done in his entire time in office could reasonably be described as “crazy” or “impulsive”, most especially if you take the time to look at his and Russia’s history. Once again, not excusing the use of violence, just pointing out that he was way more patient in using it than the US has been since at least WWII. FWIW, I think the west’s continually ignoring his and Russia’s security interests pushed him to the limit – and finally, beyond it. And here we are.

If a no-fly zone over Ukraine is a Good Thing why doesn’t NATO ask Putin to enforce one?

It’s already happening, just not publicized.

The west is flooding Ukraine with Stingers and other manpads, with a lot of success. Russia has the famous convoy solidly protected with AA missile batteries, which is why the Ukrainians haven’t been going near it, except with those Turkish night camera stealth drones. And when they do they have been hitting AA batteries like that unfortunate Buk yesterday.

This is based on the 2014 campaign. Russia sent in a lot of guys on their holidays and allowed them to take their Buks with them. Sort of like a company vehicle policy. That neutralized the Ukrainian air force really effectively. And of course led to the MH-17 disaster in a case of mistaken identity.

What we are seeing is a technology-forced doctrine change. Air power is going the way of cavalry in face of the machine gun. When every soldier on the ground could be carrying a manpad that can take out a $200 million aircraft suddenly conventional air power is no longer dominant.

I was interested in this article.

Ukrainian military using ‘game-changing’ stealth drones in battle for the skies (3 Mar)

The “Punisher” drones are able to hit targets up to 30 miles behind enemy lines. Ukrainian engineer Eugene Bulatsev, who works for warfare technology company UA-Dynamics, described the drones as “game-changing” for the Ukrainian military. He said the devices have so far completed up to 60 “successful” missions since fighting began a week ago.

While the number and location of drones deployed in the Ukrainian military is classified, Mr Bulatsev confirmed they are in use in a number of different units in the Ukrainian military, including the elite Special Operations forces.

They are primarily used to hit stationary targets, including fuel and ammunition storage, electronic and counter-electronic warfare stations and expensive anti-air systems.

The devices have a 7.5ft wingspan and can remain in the air for hours, up to 1,300 ft above ground.

They are typically paired with a smaller drone, called a Spectre, used for reconnaissance.

The Spectre drone flies alongside the Punisher to identify targets, before the larger drone attacks the target.

The two-drone package costs $196,000, including a ground station and a trainer.

It’s a bit like the spotter/sniper model. And a whole team costs as much as a Javelin AT missile, which gets used exactly once. For taking out logistics vehicles it is a seriously good investment, since a single lorry costs more than that amount. And if some Russian jet or AA launcher pots it with a missile it actually costs more for the Russians to do that than it does for the Ukrainian drone manufacturer to build another one.

When it comes to the US-backed/funded bioweapons labs (or whatever the hell they are) in Ukraine, here’s my theory:

I don’t think the Yanks were there to develop and field some kind of biological weapon to use against Russia. Why would they set up SIXTEEN separate labs for this purpose? My theory is that these labs were there already and were established during the Soviet era – maybe some or all were mothballed after 1991 – and after Maidan, the US came in and reactivated them to scoop up whatever the relatively advanced Soviet biological weapons program had developed. Anyway, my theory is that the US was primarily using these labs to learn Soviet biological warfare secrets – an offshored Operation Paperclip.

As you said, technology-driven doctrinal changes. The sheer ubiquity and lethality of Soviet mobile anti- aircraft artillery and missiles in the 1960s and 70s pushed the US and its allies to develop stand-off weapons like the Maverick missile, laser glide bombs and (in a seemingly paradoxical move) the hyper-armoured and very angry A-10 Warthog. Which was built to eat armoured columns and shrug off a facefull of the worst a Soviet air defence system could chuck at it, while still safely bringing the pilot home.

This air defence risk is why it was so rare to see a NATO combat aircraft operating close to the ground until Afghanistan.

The only reason they could argue it was the bug not the vax is because the bug causes those conditions at many times higher rates. However like so many in the medical profession they typically lean to the cause that does not point to an administered treatment. It’s impossible to know and if they were honest they would have said that or being precise by stating the probabilities are it was the bug but we cannot preclude it was the vax or a heightened immune response arising from the vax generating a much stronger immune response to an infection. That would be an honest response.

Huge issue for modern 4th gen aircraft Rex. Even with long range HARM missiles 4th gen aircraft are still vulnerable because s 400 has anti-missile missiles to address that threat. S400 has incredibly long range and they are already rolling out s 500. I think that is why so many countries are buying the F 35. I was very skeptical about the value of that aircraft but at present it probably is the only aircraft capable of addressing the ground to air threat. The manpads are for low altitude aircraft, the S 400 can take out anything.

Yep.

This is why western air force planning works so hard on SEAD. In the opening days of any fight, the effort is to frantically take out as much of the enemy’s assets as possible. By any means necessary, be it ground raids, artillery, massed airstrikes, cruise missiles or whatever is at hand. And then it forms a constant percentage of every day’s air tasking until the fight is done.

SAM systems are pretty mobile, but very few of the bigger ones can fire on the move. The S-400 (SA-20) is a case in point, but this is less important when you have several and their coverage area is quite massive. It makes them a headache to find and kill, but the fewer that are firing at you, the better off you are.

I like the Euro ALARM anti-radiation missile. Since it was designed with the expectation that the SAM radars and launchers it targets will all be data-linked and integrated, and smart cookie operators will only switch on their radars briefly and at random to minimise their exposure, it will deploy a parachute after a period of time of no detectable radar signals. Then, when the nearest radar lights up again, it will reignite and home in that radar.

And I think both it and current-model HARMs have memory and locator systems that allow them better lethality against intermittent radar emissions.

Clever stuff. 🙂

I don’t think the Russians can point too many fingers at the US for conducting biological weapons research in violation of its treaty obligations, because you’d have to be pretty naive to believe the Russians aren’t doing exactly the same thing. That being said, the Russkies have the upper hand if they don’t get caught. Not that the vast majority of people in the West would have the faintest clue about any of this.

The S 400 is mobile but it takes a couple of hours to set up and dismantle. They can have the targeting radar distanced from the launchers as an additional protection measure.

And I think both it and current-model HARMs have memory and locator systems that allow them better lethality against intermittent radar emissions.

That’s been around for a long time now. I saw a doco on that. Fascinating how the missile uses contrast differences to maintain a lock on the target even if the radar is turned off. Now possibly GPS. It’s probably not 100% effective but who would want to be a radar operator in a modern air battle environment?

BTW I used the ALARM in the old days of playing EF2000 computer game. Unfortunately apart from DCS I haven’t found any fighter sims that are realistic enough for my liking. I won’t install DCS because it really is a multiplayer game and I play computer games to avoid people. DCS has stunning graphics and the modeling is based on currently available information to a remarkable degree. If you’d like to see an example have a look at Growling Sidewinder channel on Youtube. He has had former fighter pilots on the channel. Of course there are significant limitations in DCS but at least it is a decent effort by the developers.

It is surprising how many BVR missiles miss which is one reason why I don’t take reports of those new Chinese PL 15 long range air to air missiles too seriously. The longer the flight time the easier it is to evade. As one US pilot stated, they are called miss-illes, not hit-illes. By contrast the new AIMs, Archers, ASRAAMS, and Python short range missiles making dogfighting almost a mutually assured destruction game.

“Down for me too. I don’t know where they’re hosted. If Russia they may be caught by the disconnect that seems to be going on.”

Russian server farms do a fair bit of DDoS/bot filtering and redirects (they validate users etc, then forward web etc requests to your chosen server) – so “disconnecting” Russia could pull down a lot of web sites that aren’t technically hosted in Russia. Maybe that’s why.

The only reason they could argue it was the bug not the vax is because the bug causes those conditions at many times higher rates.

Complete bollocks.

This bullshit being spread is dangerous and an attempt to neutralise culpability and criminality.

My father got Myocarditis from having his heart sack opened up during heart surgery.
It’s not that uncommon after that sort of surgery.
It isn’t common in teenagers and children, in fact almost unheard of UNTIL THE VACCINES CAME OUT. It was not described as a condition of covid for the first year of the so called deadly variant before hand.
Think before posting shit.
What harm are you doing?

Zipster:

Tulsi Gabbard: They want this to continue
Tulsi Gabbard tells Laura Ingraham that this war is not in the best interests of the American people or the world.

I do not trust this woman – she is being set up as the face of the ‘Peaceful Middle‘ to divide the Republican Right.
Her stance is to entice the ‘doctors wives’ to the Left.
Watch the media campaign being created for her position.

Diogenes – I’m not responding because your airstrike was a direct hit…

Doesn’t worry me if you or Mrs D know me, but I’m cautious to keep as much anonymity online as I can, as it helps when dealing with lefty opponents. Also I promised my old mum I’d be careful. 😀
