No I’m thinking the only way that the Dems can win and be seen to win another presidential term would be to clear off Biden, Pelosi, and Harris- in that order, with a suitable mourning period between- and ring in a cleanskin.
Michelle Obama.

Wow. That’s swinging for the stands. After 2020, they might figure it’s doable.

This will always be welcomed, the trouble is that this argument is endlessly repeated even when you could see it was falling on deaf ears, at least for some. Let it go. Press the matter in another way, and possibly these same people will change their mind. If not, they were never going to be turned.

It’s not about them dover, I poke at them to show what pathetic and low people they are.
Their arguments make no sense, and they don’t care if it makes sense….you can see it directly above with choo choo.

So this is what I’d tell any upstart visitor over on the freedom blog that dared tell another visitor to fuck off that the next time they do, they’re gone.
There’s no sides picked or bias there.
We need to never back down to this shit dover, and your “all for a peaceful life” attitude this “allo allo” French cafe owner approach, is your call.

As the weeks and months progress I haven’t changed my stance on anything, and as the days go by, what was accepted as normal thinking is now offensive, extreme, and only uttered by revolutionary extremists.
You can see that.
We’ve just lost Kneel yesterday.
But my suggestion is go with the right wing option of free speech.
Go woke go broke.
Submitting to the little gang of sneerers will lose you most people, because insanity isn’t attractive, and I’ll admit it wouldn’t happen overnight, but it would happen.
Don’t let them suck you into needing to read every comment.
Just my point of view.

Dover, I don’t even know what the “argument” is any more.

Rather than make it personal, and bitterly personal at that, the real issue is the way our governments have treated all of us, regardless of our decisions.

Coercion, exclusion, punishment, incarceration, removal of the basic right to gather, to protest, face coverings, failure to provide basic education to children…the list goes on and on. While we berate each other, our disgusting rulers get away with blue murder.

You know, there’s no way major central banks will be able to tighten policy without causing another big debt by manufacturing a recession and or rising bond yields that would massively raise the cost of financing the national debt. This is huge pickle that only a higher inflation rate is the single least worst alternative. The huge difference between now and the GFC was that western nations weren’t walking around with so much debt.

Over time a two percent rise in bond yields would cause an extra $40 billion in interest cost as the debt is financed.

Calli, there’s never been an ‘argument.’

I once pulled up Struth because he was spouting ignorance as Struth about the nature of rail funding in Australia, then checked his magical thinking on several occasions about how we are all going to be murdergenocided in camps. Run by the WEF.

And repeatedly smarted him because he had and still has nothing but an acid tongue and projecting his personal failings on others to back his assertions.

Remember, we are down to Struth repeatedly telling us “Well, I’m a Man, and you aren’t! Because I said so!”

Maraviroc inhibits SARS-CoV-2 multiplication and s-protein mediated cell fusion in cell culture

statins are also effective against long covid as fractalkine inhibitors

Zipster I noted the previous occasion you posted the statin linkage. That’s interesting because some argue the primary benefits of statins is reducing inflammation and long ago I read a study which related the function of statins as a “vitamin D analogue”.

DOT that is an interesting study that needs follow up. Keep in mind the old joke: if rodents rule end up ruling the earth they’ll thank us for curing cancer. Translation rates are very low.

Here is a fascinating issue about Metastasis, the main cause of cancer related deaths. Metastasis appears to be metabolically contingent. Cancer cells aren’t suddenly released into the bloodstream, that appears to happen on a regular basis but whether or not they will find a home in another tissue is contingent on the metabolic state of the individual(see below link @ 10.22).

Zipster I noted the previous occasion you posted the statin linkage. That’s interesting because some argue the primary benefits of statins is reducing inflammation and long ago I read a study which related the function of statins as a “vitamin D analogue”.

the statin is what cleared up 90% of my long covid symptoms.

the TLDR
incelldx is the mob who were behind retrovirals for HIV. they are a medical research outfit. they looked into long covid and found certain monocytes that were glued to blood vessels with fractalkine and had S1 protein inside them over a year post covid infection. fractalkine also prevents these immune cells from undergoing apoptosis.

statins are know to be fractalkine inhibitors. they tested statins on long covid patients and the cytokine blood markers started to normalise. people got better.

long covid is caused by the persistence of S1 subunit of the spike protein.

they now have a cytokine blood panel (not available in oz) against which they prescribe various meds, predominantly statins and maraviroc.

Anyone with long covid feel free to contact dover for my email address I can send them more details.

After adjusting for factors that are linked with increased risk of COVID-19 including gender, age, CD4 cell count, number of people living in the household, contact with a positive COVID-19 case, the researchers found that patients in the protease inhibitor group were 70% less likely to become infected with COVID-19 compared to those in the non-PI group.

Quite a large difference. Also interesting that it was a prophylactic effect, whereas most IVM studies are on people who are already infected. Since they had patients on two types of HIV cocktail, one with and another without a protease inhibitor it seems a reasonable inference, especially as we know that other protease inhibitors have been performing (at least Pfizer seems to thinks so since they’re spruiking “Pfizermectin” keenly).

Whatever PIs those are they’re already approved by the FDA so could potentially be used off label very quickly.

I don’t particularly care what his motivation is – friends respect your personal choices.

An old friend of mine has multiple pathologies including COPD, probable heart failure, and other serious cardiovascular pathology. I have berated him because he won’t stop smoking and the simple fact is that if he doesn’t do that every other intervention is pushing shit uphill. Last time I spoke to him I was very blunt and he didn’t contact me for weeks so I rang him. I didn’t raise the subject again. I had made my position clear. Sometimes that’s all we can do. I know he wants to keep living, I know he is killing himself. It is not so unusual for human beings to be contradictory. To keep berating people when we’ve made our position clear is suspect because continually abusing people is not a great way to change behavior.

Not just friends, in a hopefully open society we should respect personal choices and not spend our days insulting those of differing opinions with the obvious libertarian proviso that our choices do not hurt others.

Another example of the growing chasm between the rulers and ruled.
At no time was the leadership portion of the role of the administration ever put into the equation.
It was all about the political maneuvering and the promotion aspect.
No consideration was ever given to the community role of the police force.
Robert Peel would turn away in disgust.

Can We Take Three More Years of Biden?
by John Kass

President Joe Biden was babbling dangerously during his recent trip to Poland to shore up the NATO alliance against Russia’s murderous invasion of Ukraine. And as he babbled and babbled, his White House staff poured sawdust on the puddles and tried cleaning it up again and again.

The man just would not stop.

Biden’s wide-open mouth was a firehose of senile anger, shooting out a torrent of unfocused danger. His words won’t shorten the conflict, but will likely prolong the suffering of the Ukrainian people. His babbling strengthens Vladimir Putin in Russia, while dragging America and the rest of the world ever closer to nuclear confrontation.

Democrats once talked glibly of the 25th Amendment to remove a Republican president, who they insisted was incompetent and alleged without evidence that he was a pro-Russian traitor. He wasn’t any of those things. They simply hated him. But they did have the corrupt legacy corporate media behind them as their echo chamber.

They’re not talking 25th Amendment now, are they? Not with one of their own in the White House, a man they installed because their Wall Street guys and the banks were afraid they’d lose if Vermont Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders were nominated. And still Joe Biden babbles and barks and shouts like an angry old man losing control. And sends all that spittle to fleck their faces.

And Hunter Biden, the president’s son, finds that he has cast himself in a mold of his own making, as a bagman in Ukraine, China and elsewhere.

You know what a bagman is, don’t you?

It’s not all that complicated. A bagman goes on errands with an empty empty bag. It doesn’t stay empty long. By the time the errands are done, the bag is full, and “the boss,” or, “The Big Guy,” if you prefer, smiles in satisfaction.

So kiddies.
The main points today.
What have we learned?
Weak men create hard times.
(cheeky aren’t I, we knew that prior to 2020)

That claiming your decision as fathers and men of a nation to get on your knees to tyranny is no one else’s business and impacts no one else is horseshit.
To claim it as heroic is insanity of the highest order.
When submission involves being jabbed with something that has already killed thousands and is expected to kill many more than that, than your responsibilities as a man mean you must stand up against it to save others, especially when it’s your family.
Does being a man matter?
All of a sudden it matters again in the Ukraine.
Our responsibilities as men do not stop in peacetime.
And I’d argue that what we have experienced in the last two years, is not peace.

We have also learned that we still must discuss these issues because boosters are coming.
You can’t submit and hope it all goes away.
They’ll kill your family.
That’s what they’ll do, and weak men will let them.

But here’s the most important thing we’ve learned today, and it’s from Kneel.
Even if the jab doesn’t kill your children, allowing your wife, your school teacher or anyone else to jab them will haunt you for the rest of your life.
What has happened to us is pure evil.
Children will die and are dying now.
The only way men will be able to live with themselves is to twist reality so far our civilisation will be gone in a flash.
I must admit, what has happened is pure evil, but they studied what would happen and they waited until we were soft enough.
It’s amazing to watch the minds being lost.

Hunter Biden, the New York Times, and the Coming Impeachment

Why did the Times confess their error on the laptop story? Who knows? But it doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to know they’re up to no good.

The Sherlock Holmes question of the week is: Why did the New York Times finally admit that the Hunter Biden laptop was genuine? Here are five possible answers:

1) Roger Kimball suggests it’s a prelude to Joe Biden’s own people removing him from the Oval Office. The laptop clearly indicates that Biden is corrupt, as many said during the 2020 presidential campaign. That “fact” has to be established, and now it has been, albeit in paragraph 17 or 22 or 35 of a long article that many people will never read. It’s now a matter of record in what used to be called “the newspaper of record”—but is now, truthfully, just another sleazy hack political rag.

Kimball’s thesis requires multiple steps, which makes it unlikely. Before “they” can dump Biden, “Kamala [Harris] will have to be dealt with first,” says Kimball. They need to dispose of her the way the Democrats had to dispose of Vice President Spiro Agnew before they could get rid of President Nixon.

How are they going to do that? Actually, it’s probably not so difficult: Harris almost certainly has enough baggage in her past to kill an elephant.

Some people, perhaps many people, lost friends when they claimed that the 2020 election was stolen. Their former friends said there simply wasn’t enough evidence to support that claim.

But how do we know—or rather, how do they know? If you ask them, they will tell you only what they have read or heard from the media, media that we know now (well, we knew it all along) are dishonest: we know that because that is the import of the New York Times’s confession of error. The awful truth is that you, Mr. and Mrs. America, wherever you are, have no idea whether the election was honest or not, because your only way of determining that is by what you read and hear from the media—which is shamefully dishonest and was totally in the bag for Joe Biden.

Chicken-Hawk Kyiv

Though we have the might to meet force with force, Ukraine’s fight is not our own. We have no land to conquer and no victory to attain.

The march to war with Russia is a retreat from decency and a rush to destruction. The march, all drums and no fifes, is no ordinary call-and-response, because no response is possible in a march to the death; because no president has the right to speed up the march to a war that cannot be won and must never be fought. But Joe Biden speaks like no other president regarding Russia, personalizing the political and insulting the president of Russia: isolating Vladimir Putin, or insisting that we can and should isolate him, as we decimate Russia’s economy for the sake of Ukraine and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s honor.

Unless Biden halts the march and silences himself, signaling an end to acts of affectation and affection, unless he no longer wraps himself in sanctimony or wears the blue and yellow, unless he urges his supporters to do likewise and leave their Ukrainian ribbons and pins at home, such flag-waving will remain a rite of the red carpet and ceremony—including the ceremonial moment of silence among the rich and famous. It will continue, unbroken even by Will Smith’s violence and heckling.

Unless Biden starts speaking to himself in private, not because he hears voices but because he voices opinions best spoken in private, unless he stops treating his stammer by speaking in public, his words serve no purpose except to antagonize Putin and accelerate the path to war; for what Biden says about Putin is what a president says about an enemy he knows he can defeat, or what a prime minister says about an enemy he knows he must defeat if the life of the world is to survive. Putin is not that enemy.

Though we have the might to meet force with force, Zelenskyy’s fight is not our own.

We have no land to conquer and no victory to attain.

Cutting Through the Noise in Ukraine

You don’t have to be a Putin apologist to find fault with Western narratives on Ukraine. American interests depend on appreciating the bigger picture.

Despite the initial fog of war having receded as Russia’s invasion slowly but steadily advances, an onslaught of overwhelmingly pro-Ukraine narratives in traditional and online media has made it difficult for a disinterested observer to ascertain an accurate picture.

Attempting to present a united front, Western leaders and media have coalesced around a narrative largely indistinguishable from Ukraine’s own. That narrative places Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at center stage as he implores the world to defend Ukraine from what he says is not just an assault on his country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, but also an attack upon the foundations of liberal democracy and its attendant values. While this paints a compelling and emotionally resonant picture for many, a closer examination reveals a canvas with a much murkier picture, one that we must examine closely and carefully in order to determine how to best advance the American national interest in this consequential geopolitical moment.

Let’s begin with Zelenskyy, liberal democracy’s arbiter of the hour.

As might have been predicted considering his having received such open support from Kolomoisky, Zelenskyy’s efforts to fight corruption in Ukraine, which is one of the most corrupt countries in Europe, haven’t amounted to much more than a bad joke.

This questionable collision of Zelenskyy’s political and business interests became all the more troublesome for Zelenskyy in October, when the Pandora Papers revealed Zelenskyy, Bakanov, and Shefir maintain a complex network of offshore shell companies together which appear to have deep links to entities controlled by Zelenskyy’s biggest political benefactor, Ihor Kolomoisky. Since Zelenskyy’s election, Kolomoisky has been sanctioned by the United States for “involvement in significant corruption” such as stealing billions of dollars from the Ukrainian bank that he owned

Despite claims that Zelenskyy has united Ukraine, Ukraine remains an ethno-linguistically divided country that, since 2014, has been in a state of conflict with some of its own citizens in the East Ukraine where two separatist republics declared independence and a significant percentage of the population is not just Russian-speaking, but ethnically Russian. When Putin launched his war effort, he declared that he sought to secure the independence of these separatist regions, to secure Russia’s claims to Crimea, and to demilitarize and “denazify” Ukraine.

As far as Putin’s claims about the presence of Nazis in Ukraine, while there is likely no small amount of cynicism in Putin’s decision to employ this terminology as part of his propaganda war. Yet a central player in the conflict in Eastern Ukraine since 2014 has been the Azov Battalion, whose members still prominently display symbols associated with the German Third Reich on their uniforms, and has no shortage of members who openly espouse an eliminationist variety of Ukrainian nationalism, which has caused no small amount of embarrassment to some of Ukraine’s Western defenders.

To the extent that they still be there, they have probably been “maintained” into unservicability. The US services take nuclear weapons security seriously, and would ensure that Erdogan couldn’t become an instant nuclear power.

You make a valid point – nuclear weapons must be maintained to keep them servicable – the ‘booster’ either Helium 3 or Lithium something*, needs to be replenished each year**.
However, the Uranium can be removed from the warhead and fashioned into a new weapon. That’s where the danger lies – in remade/refurbished unmaintained weaponry.
Even a ‘fizzer’ where the secondary stages don’t work properly are still capable of of tactical yields.

*, **, running off memory here. I understand putting a Lithium core in a secondary stage of a nuke boosts the yield similarly to Tritium due to the radiation converting the Lithium into Hydrogen isotopes.
OK, I cheated here: The nukes in Turkey are the B61 variant according to Wikipaedia.

Media Knives Come Out For Investigative Journalist John Solomon After Trump Interview

Corporate media knives are out for investigative reporter John Solomon after his recent interview with former President Donald Trump went viral.

In multiple articles about the interview, news outlets like Business Insider, Politico, and the Week belittled the award-winning journalist, describing him as “discredited” “disowned,” and “far-right.”

Solomon has reported for the Associated Press, the Washington Post, the Washington Times, and the Hill, among others news outlets.

Yovanovitch was not the innocent nonpartisan professional the corporate media pretended she was during the Democrats’ first impeachment trial of President Trump.

“There are five witnesses who say that she instructed the prosecutor general of Ukraine to dismiss four cases,” he added. “Two of those cases involved Ukrainian collusion with Democrats to hurt Donald Trump. One of them involved a company owned by George Soros. There are five witnesses who are willing to testify to that. None of them were called. None of them were interviewed.”

Solomon reported at the Hill in April of 2019 that Ukrainian law enforcement officials believed they had evidence of wrongdoing by American Democrats and their allies in Kiev, “ranging from 2016 election interference to obstructing criminal probes,” but they were thwarted by U.S. embassy in Kiev (led by Yovanovitch), which refused to provide Ukrainian prosecutors with visas so they could deliver their evidence to Washington.

Tucker Carlson noted at the time that it looked like “the Biden people haven’t forgotten” that John Solomon exposed Mueller’s “lie of omission” that “helped prop up the collusion hoax.”

Meanwhile, the probe into Hunter Biden’s business dealings, led by the US Attorney in Wilmington, Delaware, has reportedly “intensified” in recent weeks, “with discussions among Justice Department officials about the strength of the case, and whether more work is needed before seeking a decision on possible charges.”

And despite Business Insider’s claim to the contrary, Fox News has not “cut ties” with Solomon. The reporter to this day remains a frequent guest on the network.

Delta A, I would say that jabbing matters because the jabbing is not just about the jab but also about the tyranny that has given rise to the jab and the tyrannic grip that the jab tightens.

Yes. That’s in part why I’m still unvaxxed, so as not to appear to acquiesce in the tyranny (but only part – no heroism claims in this). But it’s becoming increasingly obvious that that’s a futile gesture.

According to Victorian government stats (yes, I know) 95.8% of “eligible” (12 and over) Victorians are double jabbed. It’s crystal clear from Maximum Leader’s behaviour that he believes he can write off the 4.2% for all political purposes (which is all he cares about). Or maybe worse – he may think that the Frankenstein’s monster of the covid-hysterical Karen voter demographic would rise up against him if he eased up on the unvaxxed.
The stats (yes I know) also say that 65.6% of 18+ Victorians have taken a booster, and there doesn’t seem to be any mass outrage about the idea of boosters. Uptake is slow and there’s a chance, but only a chance, that Maximum Leader will baulk at the political risk of introducing a comprehensive booster mandate, but in fact if he doesn’t then the general public apathy about vaxx mandates will probably become even more entrenched.
And friends, family and work colleagues who know I’m unvaxxed are not argumentative, but aren’t in any way up in arms because I’m subject to restrictions, clearly not thinking that there’s anything wrong with the government denying basic freedoms to people who don’t want to be experimented on. And that seems to be a very general attitude.
So the chances of the unvaxxed being freed here are very, very low at least for the foreseeable future.
The anti mandate battle is lost here in Victoria. Me remaining unvaxxed is not going to change public opinion – anyone’s opinion in fact – or the government’s mind.

Obviously it goes against the grain to get experimented on just because a ghastly little turd like Maximum Leader is abusing power to punish me if I continue not to do it. Plus there are other considerations in my case. So I haven’t yet decided whether to get Novavax or not. But struth’s rantings are inclining me towards getting it simply to avoid becoming a deranged wacko psycho weirdo freako intergalactic macro-frootloop dingaling “last Japanese soldier in the jungle” about the issue.

Most of the climate science papers are “peer reviewed” too. Doesn’t stop them being bullshit.
Peer review is highly over rated.

Over rated by whom? I’ve read Ioannidis, Cohen, McCloskey.
What’s the alternative? Do you propose we sink into a mire of relativism and decide no amount of research is ever sufficient for practical purposes? If not, how do we avoid that? Wishful thinking? Confirmation bias? The availability heuristic?

They might have been swapped out for something non-fissile, but mildly radioactive?

The excuse that the warheads at Incirlik airbase had to be rejuvenated would be an elegant way to get them out of reach of sticky little Turkish fingers.

The Turks might insist on a one-for-one replacement, but those could have been rendered inoperable.

So the chances of the unvaxxed being freed here are very, very low at least for the foreseeable future.
The anti mandate battle is lost here in Victoria.

The new Liars’ government in SA rather amazingly has dropped such things like a hot potato.

South Australia announces change to vaccine mandates: Unvaccinated teachers, transport staff to be allowed back to work (30 Mar)

Unvaccinated teachers, school staff and passenger transport workers in South Australia will be allowed to return to the job within hours.

South Australia’s Police Commissioner Grant Stevens on Wednesday announced a change to vaccine mandates in the state that will take effect from midnight.

“The two that are being revoked at midnight are the education sector and the passenger transport workers sector,” Mr Stevens said.

“Also affected by this are the maritime workers who currently have a direction in place that prevents them from getting onto an international vessel arriving in South Australian waters unless they’re vaccinated.

The common thread seems to be the union rank and file. It cannot have escaped the ALP that lots of union members are unvaccinated and are quite militant about it, no matter what the Setkas all say.

At the same time there’re more and more people just ignoring this rubbish.

Mandatory Vax Refuseniks: Just 14 Per Cent of Unjabbed Greeks Have Paid Punishment Fines (30 Mar)

Of the over 300,000 Greeks who have been fined by the Greek tax authority for being unvaccinated in contravention of the mandatory order, just 14 per cent have actually paid their fines by the deadline.

A total of 317,962 Greeks over the age of 60 have been notified by the Greek tax agency to pay the €50 fine for the month of January when the government implemented its vaccine mandate for all residents above 60 years old.

According to the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), however, only 44,000 people have actually paid the fine by the deadline of March 15th, just 14 per cent of the total, and those with outstanding fines could face additional penalties, newspaper Ekathimerini reports.

And that’s only 50 euros, whereas countries like Austria was about to start fining them thousands. That abomination has also recently been dumped.

The tea leaves appear to be saying that governments everywhere are frantic to make this stuff go away, and having a lot of people sidelined because of unvaccinated would just pick at the sore continually. So to make it all go away they have to remove all restrictions, declare victory and hope the proles forget about it all. It’s that or Nuremberg revenge, formally or Romanian-style, which the the pollies and the CHOs rather dislike the idea of.

It’s arguments with family members that turn nasty.
It’s being told you are a risk to others. (!!!)
Having people tell you that you’re an “instant expert” because you don’t trust the experts.
It’s having argument after argument with people who’s arguments make no sense, but who watch mainstream dreck and have soaked up two years of daily Covid tallies and shit, manipulated stats.
It’s goddam bloody infuriating.

All of that. Being asked to take a Covid test before attending a party. You ask the hostess (a double-certificate nurse) what’s the point if the vaxxed guests just as easily catch and spread the disease as the unvaxxed and being told that, ah but it’s less severe and would protect those with comorbidities who, I’m sure, were not asked to provide a test. Queensland, 2022:

Restrictions for unvaccinated people

Unvaccinated people are not permitted to:

visit vulnerable settings, including hospitals, residential aged care, disability accommodation services, and prisons. This does not apply to residents and patients of these facilities, and there will be some exceptions for medical treatment, end-of-life visits, childbirth and emergency situations
attend hospitality venues such as hotels, pubs, clubs, taverns, bars, restaurants or cafes
attend indoor entertainment venues such as nightclubs, live music venues, karaoke bars, concerts, theatres or cinemas, and planetariums
attend outdoor entertainment activities such as sporting stadiums, theme parks or tourism experience like reef excursions and observatories
attend festivals – either indoor or outdoor – such as musical festivals, folk festivals or arts festivals
attend Queensland Government owned galleries, museums or libraries.

..

Regarding the nukes in Turkey: Until recently (a few years) Turkey was a secular nation. Kemal Attaturk set it up that way in the early 1920’s. The military were under orders to overthrow the government if it went crazy Muzzie, which it did on two or three occasions. Erdogan has negated that. The nukes go back to at least the early 1960’s which was one of the things that triggered the Cuban missile crisis (Jupiter IRBM’s in Turkey).
There probably isn’t much U235, if any, in any of the weapons there. They will be low fission yield triggers run on Pu239 to trigger the fusion component. Pu 239 needs an implosion configuration which is much trickier than a U235 gun type weapon so melting down the cores and making a new bomb isn’t at all easy.

John H:

The other day I saw an economic bod make the same argument. The spending is a huge gamble with our money and our lives. If it rates spike we’re all in big trouble.

I was talking to my sister today and I suggested she get the kids to stress test their mortgages at 5%, 10% and 15%.
There are a lot of youngsters standing on a financial precipice without a clue.

If the AFP, Ch 9 and ABC declare you’re a garage nazi, do you just declare that you’re a loyal Azov Battalion follower?

Amazing how the establishment left have rehabilitated the public status of Nazism in only a month or so!

Now it isn’t for Trump supporters, it’s for people on the right side of history.

Chief Minister Michael Gunner has thrown his support behind beleaguered Police Commissioner Jamie Chalker in Parliament, in the face of three NT Independent articles this week based on different detectives’ diary notes that contradict Mr Chalker’s claims that he was not involved in the process to charge Constable Zach Rolfe with murder in 2019.

Mr Gunner also took the opportunity in Parliament to claim he was not under investigation by, and was not a witness in, the ICAC investigation into allegations of political interference in the charging of Constable Rolfe – a claim that Independent Commissioner Against Corruption Michael Riches has refuted.

The Opposition CLP continued their attack on Mr Gunner during Question Time, repeatedly asking him if he would be a witness in the inquiry or was under investigation. Mr Gunner gave the one-word answer “no”, every time.

However, Mr Riches told the NT Independent that Mr Gunner may in fact be called as a witness during the investigation. “Whether or not someone will be required as a witness is ultimately a matter for me to determine as my investigation progresses,” he said.“No one should assume they will or will not be required as a witness.”

Mr Gunner fumbled his words when asked in Parliament by the Opposition if he still had confidence in Mr Chalker after recent reports in the NT Independent.

“Chief Minister, media reports suggest the Police Commissioner was directly involved in the decision to charge Constable Rolfe with murder, in stark contradiction to his previous public statements,” said Member for Katherine Jo Hersey.

“Does the police commissioner still have your full support?”

Mr Gunner appeared caught off-guard by the question.“I support our Police Commissioner,” he said.
“I obviously would, ah, always play great caution to any, um, … I’ll be very careful about what I say ‘cause I’m aware there’s an ICAC investigation here, we have to be very careful of what we say. I completely support the Police Commissioner, absolutely. I think we should all be careful about things we may hear and not take, take all these things with a grain of salt and trust with the ICAC to do their job.

Dot, they’ve all read the book.
Fortunately it’s short, with no big words, so it didn’t tax their literacy levels.

Iirc Marvin was wounded at Tarawa.

Just checked…it was Saipan.

On Parkinson he said he was shot in the butt when in fact machine gun fire severed his sciatic nerve.
