Who believes it was the plan to feign losing control of a major airfield and the capital was just part of a diversion for a sweep through the east and south?

the changes to command and arrests tells you things didn’t go to plan. all parties are spewing propaganda at historically unprecedented rates.

Anyone who think this will in any way shape or form deter china from taking taiwan needs to take a stiff drink, the playbook is now out in the open

A friend received this email from Avi. Viktoriastan is totally stuffed.

It cost me $268K to take Dan Andrews to court.

Hey ******, I’m in trouble.

And I think I need your help to get out of it.

Let me explain.

As you know, I’m in the Supreme Court, fighting against Dan Andrews’ political censorship.

It started last year when I went to a press conference at the Parliament in Melbourne. I identified myself to the police guards, showed them my ID, and was let in just like any other reporter. But then Andrews’ political assistant saw me, and he ordered me off the property — like he was some king, commanding a peasant to get out of his sight!

But we live in a democracy, not a dictatorship. A free press is essential to keeping a close watch on our politicians. Especially politicians as abusive as Dan Andrews.

So I applied for a formal press pass to the Legislature. And that’s where things got really serious. Here, watch this video where I tell you what happened next:

It won’t surprise you hear that I was denied press credentials, without any explanation at all.

And to this day, the government is keeping it a secret who actually made the decision.

This isn’t just about me, of course. Because if they can keep me out they can keep anyone out, for any or no reason.

That’s not how it should work in a democracy. I reported from the streets of Hong Kong, and even the Chinese Communist Party didn’t censor me like that.

So I took the Victoria government to court. I hired the best media lawyer in Australia, Justin Quill. After all, a win would set a precedent for all Australian journalists — strengthening press freedom.

And a loss would set a precedent too — one where politicians get to pick and choose which reporters get to cover them, and which are banned.

Justin is expensive. But he’s worth it. He’s the best media lawyer in the country. Over his 24 years as a lawyer, he’s represented everyone from The Age to the Herald Sun and even the ABC.

He gave me an estimate for the cost of this legal battle. He said it would be between $80,000 and $100,000.

That’s a lot of money, but this was a big battle. So we signed up.

But that’s when something shocking happened. And here’s why I need your help so badly.

Dan Andrews declared war against us. He not only deployed government lawyers, but he also hired private law firms too. He put together an entire legal army to stop little old me. It was bizarre — he surely spent a million dollars of taxpayer money just trying to keep me out. He was obsessed with it.

Andrews’ lawyers fought over everything. It was like trench warfare.

They came up with obscure arguments, including a legal argument dating back nearly 200 years. It’s obvious their goal was to overwhelm our little legal team. They fought over everything, even when it didn’t make sense.

We met them blow for blow. We hired a top-ranked QC, Will Houghton, too. We built a great legal team. We matched Dan Andrews government lawyers.

I think we’ve got a good chance to win it.

But when I received our legal bill, it was bigger than the estimate — a lot bigger.

Dan Andrews had made fighting me in court his top government priority. And that tripled the amount of work my lawyers had to do. Not just Justin Quill, but our QC and a whole legal team.

The final bill: a jaw-dropping $268,000.

That’s Dan Andrews’ way of saying “don’t ever challenge me again.”

It’s his way of trying to wear me out, trying to exhaust me. Dan Andrews has the unlimited resources of the state. But Rebel News and I rely 100% on viewer donations.

This is the biggest legal bill we’ve ever had. But it’s 100% legitimate. Our team did a year’s worth of work for this battle, in a compressed period of time.

We had to — because freedom of the press is on the line.

Please help me pay this legal bill. Please help me roll back Dan Andrews’ punitive censorship. Do it for me, so I can keep reporting the truth to you. But do it for Australia — we so dearly need to set a legal precedent for freedom. And this expensive lawsuit is the best way how.

Please click here and give what you can — thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you.

Yours truly,

Avi Yemini

Chief Australia Correspondent

P.S. Justin Quill took me through the bill in detail — it’s legit. That’s the price you pay for challenging Dan Andrews’ government: he’ll throw the book at you. There’s no way I could fight this battle on my own. Please click here to help me if you can.

P.P.S. Dan Andrews knows that if he can stop me, he can stop anyone. Because who else could afford to challenge him? This is our last, best hope. I know the legal bill is huge, but that’s the point — Dan Andrews did everything he could to stop us. We can’t let him win. Please click here to help.

P.P.P.S. Please watch Justin’s explanation of the bill by clicking here. Like me, you’ll feel grateful that such a strong advocate is on our side, fighting for freedom. (Thanks.)

A very fair take.

I will be interested to see how the PLA solves their English Channel problem given that it is nowadays easier and lower risk to bomb concentrations of barges and landing craft at harbour with precision guided cruise missiles than the RAF experienced during its Battle of the Barges in 1940.

The arrest of the witness in BRS case is interesting to say the least. Although not charged, yet, with anything to do with whatever purpose of warrant was.

To execute a search warrant in his room just after he has given evidence suggests they knew might find something. If the case was before a jury it would surely affect the credibility of witness in eyes of the jury. Even the sole judge is going to be thinking WTF. I am guessing looking for evidence of collusion. If so it gives a strong signal to other potential witnesses for BRS.

As we know the team assigned to investigate the cases arising from Brereton Inquiry is loaded with investigative and legal talent and if I recall correctly about 80 strong. I would surmise they are adopting a whatever it takes approach. Anybody appearing in the defamation case, particularly on BRS side, is hopefully mindful that everything they are saying and their contacts etc are no doubt being monitored.

Either way, f..k the senior officers who got leadership medals and promotions and no repercussions. My support is with the guys on the ground. The operating rules were rigged against them as they knew the majority of prisoners taken would be released within a few days as there was no legal way to deal with them. I do however say that on the basis that the guys “taken out” we’re actually bad guys and not total innocents. Even then it would be tough for a new guy on his first patrol on first tour to end up in that environment where the old hands are going to know what happens if a Taliban is handed over to Intelligence or Afghan Army for processing.

I note they mention Kerry Stokes paying for legal fees. It was my understanding that more than one billionaire from WA was funding the SAS guys legal fees when it was known they had been hung out to dry without support.

Is this the equivalent of SCOTUS wearing a balaclava and bashing Asian’s in the subway?

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court has turned away a plea from parents to block a new admissions policy at a prestigious high school in northern Virginia that a lower court has found discriminates against Asian American students.

Asian American students constituted more than 70% of the student body. Under the new policy, used to admit the school’s current freshman class, Asian American representation decreased to 54%. Black students increased from 1% to 7% and Hispanic representation increased from 3% to 11%.

Question is – does he realise he has absolutely no moral standing for this rant, or does he just separate leftists doing it and rightists (in his imagination) doing it and see one as virtuous and the other as intrinsically malicious.

The left has gleefully excluded people from having their say. Now the right wants to join the conversation without excluding anyone, and the left are complaining that they will be silenced.

AUSTRIA AND THE AUSTRIAN OMV HAS ACCEPTED THE TERMS OF PAYMENT FOR RUSSIAN GAS IN RUBLES – AUSTRIAN CHANCELLOR

Hardly surprising. Austria imports 80% of its gas from Russia and has limited alternatives.

Meanwhile:

Ukraine war: Poland says it will manage without Russian gas

Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Marcin Przydacz, said his country had been preparing for the possibility Russia might limit gas exports by diversifying its supplies.

“I’m pretty sure that we will manage to handle this,” he told the BBC.
He added that the suspension proved Moscow was “not a reliable partner in any kind of business” and urged other European nations like Germany to support a ban on Russian energy imports.

Poland was already planning to stop importing Russian gas by the end of the year, when its long-term supply contract with Gazprom expires.
PGNiG said its underground gas storage was almost 80% full and, with summer approaching, demand was lower.

Poland also has alternative supply sources, including a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Swinoujscie.

Happy days for the LNG market for the next few years.

Here’s the article Wadeye: Failed State as Cultural Triumph.. It;s written by a teacher, and the language is somewhat florid at the start, but it’s worth pursuing to get to the guts of it; for example:

The school where I am working attempts to teach children to read and write, but exaggerates its attendance figures. It needs to be constantly employing new teachers, as they often only last a matter of days or weeks before they are overwhelmed by the extent of the problem, the complete lack of discipline and the primitive circumstances under which they must work and live. There is no need to play up the extent of the massive social and educational “disadvantage” or more specifically, the mayhem, anger or passive revolution here—it is obvious.

The children who attend school regularly or even irregularly are often tired from lack of sleep, or are hungry and irritable. The school feeds each child breakfast, morning tea and lunch, every day. The teachers are, without exception, exhausted from the huge demand of teaching classes of children, many of whom would be on Ritalin if they were city kids. The teachers live in a constant low-level fear fuelled by intermittent dog attacks, the hardly suppressed resentment and violence within the community, the total lack of respect, mindless vandalism, foul language and “motherfucker” mentality of the children, the difficulty in obtaining basic food supplies and the insufficient, caged and very basic accommodation (which often requires them to be moved around at a moment’s notice), the lack of being able to go for a decent walk out of the township, and lack of sleep due to the all-night noise.

Each day at school is a guess as to what new program might be introduced. There is an unstated assumption that all teachers be apologists—that they accept the black-armband orthodoxy. The teachers hoard and hide supplies of teaching materials in secret places. Too many women and not enough men does not produce a healthy school community, and this is particularly so within a patriarchal semi-tribal isolated Aboriginal community. These Aboriginal people do not like having to deal with whitefellas anyway, and when they do—at the school, Centrelink, the health centre, the store—the whitefellas are overwhelmingly women.

Notably, it was written in 2008, but nothing’s changed.

The last Liberal Government of Western Australia proposed just that – in response, the “Warriors of the Aboriginal Resistance” played the race card to the max, and closed down the CBD of Melbourne in protest.

Honest to goodness, this was published in the Bezos Post.

NATO was founded to protect ‘civilized’ people. That means White.
Four historical examples show how much race has always mattered in defining ‘Western civilization’

The invasion of Ukraine has been horrifying to witness.

Early on, some observers repeatedly expressed the idea that the invasion of Ukraine is especially horrifying because, as CBS reporter Charlie D’Agata, who was in Kyiv, put it, “This isn’t a place, with all due respect, like Iraq or Afghanistan, that has seen conflict raging for decades. This is a relatively civilized, relatively European — I have to choose those words carefully too — city.” (D’Agata later issued an apology.)

People of color are not surprised. A large body of research finds that Whiteness informs who is deemed deserving of welfare, protectionism, property, security, freedom, humanitarianism and more. NATO’s very inception — too — was birthed through appeals to Whiteness.

To understand the selective empathy toward Ukraine, here are four historical examples that illustrate how race has always mattered when it comes to NATO and the concept of Western civilization, drawn from a large body of scholarship as well as my own dissertation research.

1. NATO was born out of a fear of White slavery

2. Defending European democracy meant reinforcing colonization elsewhere

3. Western civilization is code for Whiteness

4. “Slavs” were considered “not quite White”

It is pretty freaking remarkable. There’s been no US owned airliner fatal rash for 20 years. This is too successful so enter Madam Diversity.

The improvement in jetliner safety among U.S. commercial airliners since the 20th century is remarkable. Looking at this list of airliner fatalities, it appears that exactly one passenger has been killed in a big U.S.-owned Boeing or Airbus jetliner in the 20 years since the last catastrophic American passenger jetliner crash (in Queens in 2001).

But, you’ll be glad to know, some people are working on fixing that unbroken problem.

Second former SAS soldier backs Ben Roberts-Smith in defamation case
Michaela Whitbourn
By Michaela Whitbourn
April 27, 2022 — 5.34pm

A second former Special Air Service soldier has supported Ben Roberts-Smith in his Federal Court defamation case, backing the war veteran’s denial that he was involved in the alleged murder of Afghan prisoners.

Person 35, a friend of the decorated former soldier, gave evidence on Wednesday in Robert-Smith’s defamation suit against The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Canberra Times. His name cannot be revealed for national security reasons.

He was asked about key details on missions by the SAS in Afghanistan in 2009 and 2012, and corroborated the accounts given by Roberts-Smith. The decorated former soldier is suing the newspapers over a series of stories in 2018 that he says portray him as a war criminal.

The media outlets are seeking to rely on a defence of truth and have alleged Roberts-Smith killed an Afghan man in 2009 who was taken prisoner by the SAS after being pulled from a tunnel at a compound dubbed Whiskey 108.

The newspapers say Roberts-Smith also directed a “rookie” soldier, dubbed Person 4, to kill a second man pulled from the tunnel, after the order to kill the man was given officially by the men’s patrol commander, Person 5. Under the rules of engagement that bound the SAS, prisoners could not be killed. Person 5 has previously told the court that no men were found in the tunnel and he did not give that order.

Person 35 told the court on Wednesday that he heard a call on the troops’ radio system that a tunnel had been discovered at Whiskey 108. He said Roberts-Smith volunteered to clear the tunnel and he laughed at him because he “wasn’t going to fit”.

Person 35 said he himself had entered and cleared the tunnel, while another soldier, Person 29, covered the entry.

“Did you locate or observe any individuals in the tunnel?” Robert-Smith’s barrister, Arthur Moses, SC, asked. “No,” Person 35 replied. He said he found weapons in the tunnel.

Person 35 said the first time he heard the allegation that men had been found in that tunnel was in media reports in 2018. Roberts-Smith has previously told the court that no men were found in the tunnel. He said two Afghan men killed on that mission, including one shot by him, were enemy combatants located outside the compound who were killed lawfully in battle.

But a serving SAS soldier dubbed Person 40, called to give evidence by the newspapers in March, told the court that two Afghan men were pulled from the tunnel at Whiskey 108 and “marched off to another area” for what he assumed was tactical questioning by Roberts-Smith and Person 35.

A former SAS soldier dubbed Person 43 also gave evidence in March that he was involved in capturing an elderly Afghan man in the tunnel.

Yet another serving SAS soldier, dubbed Person 41, called by the newspapers in February, told the court that he saw Roberts-Smith execute an unarmed Afghan prisoner on the day in question and direct Person 4 to kill a second prisoner.

The newspapers have also alleged Roberts-Smith directed an Afghan soldier dubbed Person 12, via an interpreter, to order one of his subordinates in the Afghan partner force to shoot an unarmed prisoner in October 2012.

But Person 35 told the court on Tuesday that a decision was made in late July 2012 to remove Person 12 from participating in any further SAS missions, meaning he was not present in October that year.

Person 35 said the reason Person 12 was removed was because he had shot at a dog and “the line of shot that he took meant that those rounds went through the dog, probably hit the ground, and then ricocheted up and hit” another soldier.

Roberts-Smith, who denies giving any such direction to an Afghan soldier, says Person 12 was not on the mission in question. However, he had told the court on June 11 last year that he believed his previous explanation in a written outline of evidence about Person 12 being stood down for shooting at a dog was wrong.

The trial continues.

How surprising!

One of Sydney’s most elite private schools has banned male students from bringing their own laptops to class after several were caught on online gambling sites, social media or watching pornography.

Shore School – which charges $37,350 a year for Year 12 tuition – initially allowed students to bring their own devices to class for their education under a Bring Your Own Device policy.

But the prestigious, single-sex Anglican college has backflipped and introduced a ban after many boys became increasingly distracted by gambling, porn, social media and streaming sites instead of focusing on their teachers.

Interesting take, from a trader’s blog. Dunno what to believe though.

Elon’s Twitter: Get Ready for an AI Juggernaut

I haven’t had a chance to give my opinion on what is without question the most important takeover in my lifetime. The town square, the place where opinions are created and promoted, has been acquired by the greatest industrialist in generations. On the surface people are viewing this as a rebuke against the fascist tendencies of Twitter married with the overly oppressive US govt. Of course the spin is, twitter was just trying to protect people from disinformation and prevent bullying; but anyone who is on Twitter and not just reading the talking points understands that US govt policy is married to the corporate policies of Twitter, which made it big brother — an oppressive venue that cast out dissenters or people who posed a threat to US policy.

Elon simply isn’t concerned with US policy and is a businessman. He says the economics don’t mean anything but he’s been evasive regarding his true goals for Twitter, which has nothing to do with small minded ads or absurd pro versions. Elon, being a long time advocate for AI, will tackle bots to eradicate false data inside the platform and then create various engines which could then use clusters of data to predict the future. Forget about the google search engine. It’s antiquated compared to the real time Twitter streams.

What Elon is after and what he will build, and the reason why he’s going to open up the API to allow developers to create on top of the platform, is an artificial intelligence engine that can eventually be manipulated with inputs to cause outcomes.

This might sound like batshit sci-fi stuff but google and IBM are already working on super computers to do this very thing.

Whoever is in control of the most data can A/B test the fuck out of human behavior to eventually be able to comfortably peer into the future.

I might not have been sufficiently blunt in my comment.

It is not the job of the bureaucracy to “govern” the nation. That is the task of the elected politicians (who have been derelict in their duties for a couple of decades). It is the job of the bureaucracy to support the elected government. Perpetually touting models that have never produced anything approaching a valid result is not doing that job.

Yes, the bureaucracy is now highly politicised. One of the tasks of the elected government is to recognise that, and fix it. For the same couple of decades, they have failed in that task, but their failure does not let the bureaucracy off the hook for its malicious incompetence.

Here’s a terribly uncomfortable What-If:

What If it had nothing at all to do with the Biden Administration wAnTiNg a WaR to cover for its policy failures back home, and the ideologically pure but strategically inexperienced and incompetent entryists now running the US internal and external affairs bureaucracies have no idea how the world really works? And can’t ask anyone anymore because all the competent folks are dead, retired, sacked or staying very damned quiet so they can quierly run down the clock to retirement and keep their pensions?

What If all the West-of-the Baltic members of the EU, being fat, dumb and happy and without recent memory of expansionary powers in the East going on ‘adventures’ from time to time, were too preoccupied with the good times? Of being In Charge, remoulding society in its (competing) progressivist images, divvying up the spoils to maaaaaates and thinking nothing of coming storms on the horizon, so long as the oil and gas underpinning the Green Dreams remained cheap, plentiful and ‘over there?’ And thus completely missed every conceivable cue that the Happy Times were not going to last much longer?

What if the raucous and oftentimes violent internal politics of Ukraine was not exploited by foreign devils allegedly pulling a popularly-elected(!) President’s strings, but instead reflected a nation wanting to go its own way and being perhaps rather tactless and loud in doing so? And a jilted former master state didn’t like that very much, particularly after similar such ructions in Belarus a few years almost cost it another vassal?

And what if said former imperial master state had been planning some form of aggressive 2014-style ‘nudge’ operation for some time, but jumped on a chance presented by all of the above? And gambled that a coup de main might get get them in a few days or weeks what 8 years of rolling insurgency operations in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts hadn’t?

What If none of this was Conspiracy? But all the classical failings of human hubris, ignorance, laziness, fear and stupidity combining in a mix that would have had Thucydides and Edwardian and Churchillian-era politicians slapping their foreheads in dismay that civilisation had sleepwalked its way into disaster yet again?

The problem I’m highlighting is that negotiations are based on territory gained.

Sign a deal now and they won’t get their southern corridor or deprive Ukraine of a Black Sea port.

The sad part, Roger, is that the Ukes didn’t have to lose any territory at all, apart from Crimea. The Russians asked for Ukrainian recognition of Russian sovereignty of Crimea, and to stay out of NATO. In return, Russia would recognise Ukrainian sovereignty over the disputed eastern regions and would supply Ukraine with free gas for five years.

This was a reasonable offer, this is what Zelensky promised at his election, perhaps even better given the free gas bonus, and there would have been no war. Ukrainian and Russians are now dying in a futile exercise as it suits the US State Department to keep it going.

How is that reasonable?

I’m happy to admit I was absolutely wrong about a bunch of wars embarked upon or instigated by the US MIC and its satrapies since…hell, since I was cognizant of such matters. I don’t need to lie and say I was totally against the NATO campaigns in the Balkans, the invasion of Iraq, the 20 year campaign in Afghanistan etc. I simply wasn’t very well-informed, I believed disreputable people and sources, and didn’t make legitimate attempts to view these conflicts from other perspectives.

Admitting you’ve been wrong in the past isn’t some great source of shame. Not learning the lessons of your past mistakes is, though.

Taken a few flights lately. Qantaslink, all the FA look & act like they are just out of training. One on a MKY-TSV leg was polite but very zealous about masks. Chipping people for leaving it off too long or getting people to adjust. Some of the older guys at the pointy end complied but their body language showed displeasure. Mackay Taxis were very loose with their policy, not enforced.

Personally can’t wait till it is over on transport.

2009, 2013 .. a long time considering the amount of traffic.

It’s not just the amount of traffic.
The US airliners also fly in some absolutely abysmal weather. They do very well to not have a few more weather initiated crashes.

For a comparison try western Europe, which has a lot more flights than North America (The US may have taken some notice, & copied the Europeans, thus reducing the number of US airline crashes)
Europe has far stricter flight rules, & totally different (i.e. kinetic hands-on focused) engineering.

Tonight Chris Kenny had on a guest named Sal Grover, a woman who’s created a female only app, the app uses facial recognition to identify biological females. I’ve been following Sal for almost two years now. Sal defended Katherine Deves, a woman who’s been under attack from the MSM, the progressive left and scum like Kean and Turdbulll, for the sole reason that she believes in female only spaces and that she has made some intemperate remarks on Twitter, including a Nazi analogy. So tonight Sal Grover, for her crime of creating a female only app, stated that not only does she receive regular death and rape threats from “trans activists”, these same trans activists call her app a “Nazi app”, all because she’s designed the app to be for biological females only. Trans activists frequently use Nazi analogies to smear and shut down their opponents so, my question to the MSM, to politicians, to scum like Kean and Turdbull, when will they call out, when will they condemn, when will they denounce the hate speech and the inappropriate Nazi analogies thrown at gender critical women, whose crime is to believe that men with dicks shouldn’t use female only bathrooms and change rooms, that biological males shouldn’t be put in female only prisons and that biological men, who’ve been through puberty, shouldn’t compete against biological women?

Of course we’ll hear crickets.

Oh and Sal Grover has a “Human Rights Commission” complaint against her, brought on by a trans activist. Sal has been told to appear before a panel so that she can be re-educated, so this was her response a month ago on Twitter……

“To resolve the human rights complaint against me & Giggle, I’ve been told I need to:
• Be re-educated on sex & gender to better run an app for “females”.
• Allow all males who ID as women on the app.
• Monitor what women post to protect male feelings.

Moreover, with such a great result the discussion was about affirmative action in the cockpit.
