Early morning here in Amsterdam. One coffee down, another to go and I’ll be fit to face the world.

Chatting to some Northern Beaches Aussies in one of those little alleyway bars, enormous glass tankards (pints?) of beer for all but me – a generously free-poured G&T in one of those balloon glasses. Ambrosia for the flight-toxxed.

Snapshot of conversation – no Masks…anywhere! Shocked. Me – isn’t it wonderful! She (doubtful) – but is it safe? Me – these smart buggers are over it, I wish Australia could follow suit. Some small talk about the efficacy of “vaccines” followed, she all on board because they “stopped it being worserer”. My only reply was – it’s curious that the whole thing stopped being so lethal when the virus mutated, right at the time the “vaxx” became widely available and adopted by most. Just a little food for reflection.

The concierge asked the usual question – have you been to Amsterdam before? In 2009 was the reply. You will find it much changed, I think, said he.

Yes, two strong visual changes, but there may be more subtle ones. My initial impression was “slightly down at heel”, like it is just recovering from a major shock. Signs in the windows seeking employees, a lot pop-ups here and there. The other – many…many Africans. Some appear to be almost vagrant, others students. They seem to almost outnumber the native Dutch, but that may have been the time of day, just as school closed.

And something chuckle worthy – my head hit the pillow with a resounding crash and it seemed that time stood suspended…until out of the depths I heard a persistent tapping and a voice…calli…calli…calli*. Tap, tap, tap. Lumbering to the source of the noise, I discovered that the Beloved, disoriented, had mistaken the hotel door for the bathroom – there he was, standing in the hotel hallway in t-shirt and undies! Poor man.

Now we know what happened to Malcolm Fraser.

* not my real name 😀

Anchor What earlier-
Bank Australia is in the news for its policy of no longer loaning money for the purchase of internal combustion powered vehicles.
Which bank? This mob, formed by amalgamation of a large number of credit unions, look like green activists running a bank, possibly into the ground.

Learnt that they handle about $5b, which is actually bugger all… but I also noticed that they’re advertising heavily on YouTube and Poverty Pack Spotify, which is cheap young eyeballs. Lotsa “your bank might be funding slavery/animal abuse/deforestation/fracking/hate speech”. Of course, they’re now being advertized for free by Their ABC.

Monty…that sentence makes no sense to a parent in a “real world”, situation. Ask any parent what they would give up to save the life of there born or unborn child?…the answer may surprise you, or…it may not.

One such scenario is where it is inevitable that the fetus will die, but doctors are prevented from saving the mother until she develops sepsis or some other life-threatening condition… after which the mother may die needlessly.

But hey, the tree of liberty must from time to time be nourished by the blood of women dying from preventable conditions, am I right?

Comprehensive thread on the new DOJ filing in the Trump documents case.

Bradley P. Moss @BradMossEsq
I have read the entire Government filing. I spend all day, every day, litigating against the Government, so some of this is familiar stuff to see. This particular brief is very well-done.

Here are the highlights:

1) The facts. NARA negotiated in 2021 for the missingrecords. They finally got 15 boxes. After going through them and finding all kinds of classified records (not organized at all), they raised the alarm. They wanted to make a referral to the FBI but had to first consult with Trump’s team, per the PRA procedure. Trump’s team delayed for weeks and weeks, and never substantively responded. Finally, NARA told Trump’s team they were making the referral and rejected the “protective” assertion of Executive Privilege.

2) At no time did Trump’s legal team file an action *at that point* to prevent the referral to FBI.

3) The FBI reviewed the records and the criminal inquiry was opened. A grand jury subpoena was issued to Trump’s team. Again, they delayed and delayed in complying. Finally, in early June they agreed to a meeting at MAL to comply. They turned over more classified records, and swore out a statement that they had done a diligent search, they had not found any more classified records, and any records that remained were in the storage room. They refused to let the FBI agents look at the boxes in the storage room.

4) The FBI gathered new evidence that there were in fact more classified records at MAL, including in locations outside of the storage room. They got the search warrant and found approximately 100 additional classified records, some located in Trump’s own office.

5) That is straight up obstruction and concealment of classified records, and willfully retaining them in an unauthorized location.

6) Now come the legal arguments. First, DOJ says Trump lacks standing. The records are not his: they are the property of the US. Even if he wanted to claim them as personal records, he never did so. He did not do so in 2021, he did not do so when subpoenaed, he never did it. He has no possessory interest in the records.

7) Second, they argue Trump is not entitled to any injunctive relief. Again, these are not his records, he waited way too long to even try to stop the FBI from getting the records, he’s not entitled to relief given Executive Privilege would not apply, and even if it did the criminal investigative need outweighs it.

8) Third, the Special Master is moot. The A/C privilege records were already separated and are set to be evaluated by the magistrate. The records Trump claims are covered by EP are not his anyway, and the Nixon precedents make clear he cannot invoke it to override the need to conduct a criminal investigation.

9) To sum it up, Trump took PLAINLY MARKED classified records to MAL, he delayed, obstructed and resisted Government efforts to recover them, he (or his staff) concealed the records from investigators, and they got caught doing so.

Central to the upheaval has also been a spate of coal-fired plant outages, which at one stage in June affected a quarter of the fleet in the eastern states. AEMO said those supply pressures were likely to get worse in the coming years as five coal plants closed, taking with them 14 per cent of the National Energy Market’s total capacity.

Close to 14% of the NEM’s capacity, you say?
Perhaps on a good renewables day, with the Sun shining brightly and a stiff breeze.

When the next five power stations close – Liddell, Eraring, Bayswater, Yallourn, and Loy Yang – they will take 14,500MW of dispatchable power out of the NEM. That’s about 45% of the average NEM demand.

Not immediately clear what’s supposed to happen at night, or on windless days – presumably 100,000’s of MWh of batteries.

But cheer up.
Shitweasel Bowen, Origin, AGL, and Energy Australia are onto it.
And it will be too cheap to meter.
Or something like that.

The ability to see clearly once you buy into any part of the propaganda is completely destroyed.
The Davos mob, of which most western traitors and Putin are a part, are giving you theatre to keep you dumb bastards thinking a fucking little war can destroy the west.
Who knew Russia could have all the gas and food for the world.
Yet Australia can produce enough to feed itself 3 times over and has enough energy resources to be a super power.
And yet because of what amounts to an ongoing border skirmish in Eastern Europe the west is going to be powerless and starve
You’d have to be one brainwashed turnip to do anything other than laugh at the suggestion.
As if.

Traitors in Western governments are at war with the west and have been for years.
They are at war with you.
They think they are smarty pants and can make youbelieve any old bullshit …..
But seriously. ….not able to secure power other than from Russia tells us all that the war is a WEF..U N…Davos piece of bullshit theatre and Putin killing his own means nothing to him or his Ukrainian collaborator.

However. ..we will still win.

As at 1530, m0nty-fa has not responded to the points below from one of my earlier posts..

You have not condemned the chorus of pro-abortion “activists” who expanded the “time of viability” criterion set out in R v W to include abortion up to the point of birth, sex selective abortion, “genetic” abortion and “lifestyle” abortion in the years since 1973.

Therefore, by your own words above, you have joined in their campaign for unlimited abortion rights. And don’t forget that some of those “activists” are already pushing for “post-birth abortion”. At what point will your stomach revolt at what you implicitly support?

It seems that m0nty-fa at the very least does not reject the gradual expansion of abortion from the “time of viability” to essentially open slather up to the time of birth. Neither does he seem to reject the appalling concept of “post-birth abortion”.

These judgements are based on m0nty-fa’s claim that Dover, by not rejecting all arguments against abortion, supports them all.

DOJ Files response to Trump Special Master request

It is sad this blog has just become mindless and endless trolling.

OldOzzie
OldOzzie
August 31, 2022 5:44 pm

The DOJ has filed a response to the motion by President Trump for the court to appoint a special master to review the seized material from the DOJ/FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago. [Court pdf Here] Additionally, the outside government Lawfare group has filed an amicus brief supporting the DOJ-NSD position [Amici court pdf Here]

Essentially the position of the DOJ boils down to… They have already reviewed the material. Yes, there was attorney-client privilege material seized; but they swear the internal team segregated the legally confidential material and the DOJ investigators & prosecutors didn’t see it – double pinkie swear, yer honor.

To compliment the created DOJ narrative for media consumption; and to assist the media effort for direct distribution of the DOJ position; Main Justice released a picture as an example of the documents seized. The DOJ literally staged and created this photo for media to use, then released it in the court filing. Slick lawfare:

The cover sheets are essentially non sequitur as they do not necessarily describe or affirm the nature of the documented material underneath. “HCS-P/SI/TK” looks all officially looming; however, it doesn’t necessarily mean any of the information is classified as HCS (HUMINT Control System, or human intelligence), SI (special intelligence), or TK (talent keyhole), or SCI (Sensitive Compartmented Information), aka the silos.

One word or paragraph could be considered ‘special intelligence’. Example “FISA” or “FISC”. You might remember our prior discussions that every document that contains the designation of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, FISA or FISC, literally those words or abbreviations, is considered classified special intelligence.

Example (as above): Someone might write “the Carter Page FISA application” on a government document. That document is now considered ‘special intelligence‘. That’s how each silo inside the agencies of government keep a cloud over information.

It was not that long ago when the classification rules stated you could not ever publicly use the words “FISA Court,” without running afoul of the rules governing classified special intelligence. Yes, that’s correct, until about three years ago it was a violation of law to even discuss what took place in the FISA court process.

As a result, take the cover letter designations with a grain of salt. The covers are essentially useless for the purpose of understanding what material might be underneath. However, for the purpose of creating an optic, which helps drive a narrative, the oh-so super special cover values are priceless.

Moving beyond the filings, the DOJ narrative engineering is particularly noteworthy. By framing the material seized in such a manner as most people will never understand what the designations mean, Main Justice lays the foundation for the media to obfuscate, portray and define the potential of the evidence.

Last point. As to the actual nature of the material in the photograph staged by the DOJ for media use, many of the documents you see in the picture are transcripts from the 2018 House Intelligence Committee (HPSCI) investigation and witness testimony.

Again, the cover sheets are a moot point. You might remember Representative Doug Collins releasing the witness transcripts (Bruce Ohr, etc) to the public.

Even though those House Intel and House Judiciary transcripts were released to the public, the cover sheets designate how the agencies view the testimony therein. Something can be a public record and still labeled “special intelligence,” that’s just the nature of this ridiculous classification system – or what I call the silo value.

Convicted murderer Chris Dawson has been forced into the Special Management and Protection Program inside prison, as correctional officers say there are real concerns he would be “dead by Friday”.

Prison officers performed a medical assessment, and also highlighted possible threats from other inmates due to the high-profile nature of the case, and Dawson’s relationship with a schoolgirl.

Dawson, 74, was handcuffed and taken to police cells on Tuesday after being handed a guilty verdict for the murder of his wife, Lynette Dawson, 40 years ago.

The high-profile inmate was held in police cells on Tuesday night, before being transferred to the Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre at Silverwater Correctional Complex on Wednesday morning where he underwent a comprehensive screening and health assessment.

Multiple Corrective Services sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told The Daily Telegraph Dawson was considered a “suicide risk” following Wednesday’s assessment.

“There were repeated and specific suicide threats during the assessment process,” the source said.“There was also concern that he would be the target of other inmates due to the high-profile nature of the case and his well-documented relationship with a schoolgirl”.

Officers said Dawson was seen with his “head in his hands” in a single cell inside the Special Management section of the remand centre, after being stripped of his clothes and issued a kit of prison greens.

Dawson will remain at the MRRC while he awaits the outcome of a bail application, as he plans his appeal of the murder conviction.

The Special Management and Protection program will see Dawson housed in a single-bed cell in an area designed to restrict movements and interactions.

“Dawson will be housed in a one-out cell by himself, due to the nature of his case,” another source said. “Management intervened to enforce special protections to be imposed.

It was the unspoken question during Chris Dawson’s trial that could not be openly discussed before his murder conviction: Did the ex-football star drug his wife’s drink on the night he murdered her?

Evidence heard at the trial included that Dawson repeatedly mixed drinks at the family home which made Lynette pass out, allowing him to then have sex with the schoolgirl babysitter JC.

So effective were the drinks to render her unconscious that Lynette – a social drinker in her early 30s – was sometimes so stupefied that she drifted off while still in her lounge chair.

The idea that the drinks made by Chris Dawson – a lifelong teetotaller, along with his identical twin brother Paul – could have also contained a sedative was never mentioned during the ten week trial.

What was mentioned was Lynette Dawson’s eerie last conversation with her mother Helena Simms, which was in fact the last time the then 33-year-old devoted mother-of-two ever spoke with anyone other than her violent, unfaithful husband.

Helena thought that in the conversation, Lyn sounded ‘sozzled’ and she told her mother that Chris ‘has just made me a lovely drink’.

Whether she was drugged or not, and whether Dawson then smothered his wife or killed her another way before contemplating how he could dispose of her body, Lyn’s last words have taken on a sinister significance.

‘Literal shipwreck treasure’ from famous doomed Dutch vessel resurfaces
Tony Moore
By Tony Moore
August 31, 2022 — 1.57pm

Four priceless silver Dutch coins from a ship that foundered off the West Australian coast in 1629 have resurfaced in Queensland.

The coins are from the wreck of the Batavia, which in 1628 set off for its maiden journey from Amsterdam to the capital of the Dutch East Indies, Batavia – near present-day Jakarta.

The doomed voyage of the Batavia is a tale of mutiny, murder and mayhem from the pre-colonial days.

And 363 years after the ship sank, the four coins were stolen by a diver.

They came to authorities’ attention when the diver moved to Queensland from West Australia and tried to get a permit to keep them.

Federal authorities alerted maritime archaeologist Celeste Jordan from the Department of Environment and Science, who explained the find on Wednesday.

“This is literal shipwreck treasure. I don’t know what more excitement anyone could have than literally touching shipwreck treasure.

“For Queensland to have coins from a WA shipwreck is very rare. They rarely cross state lines.

“So to be able to hold them, to be able to examine them is extremely rare,” she said.

Jordan said because the coins pre-dated European colonisation of Australia, “for a lot of people, these coins are literally the oldest thing they will see in history”.

The Dutch East India Company was “huge in the spice trade” at the time and the Batavia was one of seven ships making its way around South Africa’s Cape of Good Hope before it was wrecked on June 4, 1629.

“Batavia is probably the most famous of the four Dutch East Indies shipwrecks off the WA coast because of the mutiny.

“There were 115 people systematically murdered by Jeronimus Cornelisz and his cronies.”

Cornelisz subsequently had both hands cut off and died on the gallows on October 2, 1629.

Jordan said the Queenslander, who willingly gave over the coins after being told his prize was illegal, told her he had taken them from the Batavia wreck on Morning Reef, near Beacon Island.

She said the earliest coin was from the 1560s.

“The last digit is not there on this one.

“This next one is from 1614, and this one clearly says 1623. And this one, the fourth one, doesn’t have a date,” she said.

“On one coin from 1614 you can see whoever it is, I’m assuming it is potentially the Dutch king of the time, he has a sword, he is in armour and holding a shield or a bag and the shield actually has a small dragon on there,” she said.

“The dragon is roaring, his tongue is out, his wings are out, which is quite a fun detail,” she said.

Examining a coin from 1623, “you can see the detail in the feathers here and the other side of the coin also has quite beautiful detail in the gentleman’s armour”.

“You can also see the armour in the coin, you can see it is undated. But you can see the man’s hair and beautiful collar and all the metal of his armour.”

The oldest coin has silver detailing which looks part of a crown.

“If I turn it over you get part of the shield. It also has some cracking in the coin itself.

“I think one of the most interesting things about this coin here is that somebody has tried to clip a piece of silver from this coin.”

It has been illegal since 1976 to take objects from historic shipwrecks.

The coins will be returned within weeks to the Western Australian Shipwrecks Museum in Fremantle, which holds and displays a significant collection of Batavia artefacts.

Russia would likely agree that Ukraine can exist in its own right, however, it’s going to take back Crimea as well as some other territories the Russian Empire conquered, like the Donbas, Kherson, etc. which Ukraine inherited by its former association with Tsarist Russia and the USSR, or at the very least they are on the table.

It was Nikita Khrushchev who signed away those Russian territories to the Ukraine, he was the First Secretary of the Soviet Union and therefore had the authority to reassign the borders between the various Soviet Socialist Republics. Nikita Khrushchev was a Ukrainian.

One morning in the 1960’s the Russians living in Kherson (for example) woke up and were told that they were now living in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic rather than the Russian Soviet Socialist Republic; it probably mattered not to them at all, they still had to go to their dreary job at the Number 43 Tractor Factory where “they pretended to work and the Party pretended to pay them.”

Then the Soviet Union collapsed and the member states became independent countries within the borders allocated by Mr. Khrushchev, none of his successors troubled themselves to return to the historical arrangements.

The Russians living in the current borders initially had no problems living in the Ukraine, then their government was targetted by one of Mr. Obama’s “colour revolutions” and their lives changed for the worse. A shadowy foreign power now controls the Ukraine and those people want a war with Russia so persecutions of various sorts against the ethnic Russians began. This was to force Russia into a war which would drain its treasury and wear them down so as to replace the leadership in that country.

My personal view is that Russia would probably be better off with a new leader, I’m of the opinion that no nation benefits from having the same leader for years and years, just look at the backward state of Spain under Franco, and Ireland under that Spanish/American usurper Eamon de Valera, both of them hung around way past their use-by dates. Nevertheless, I’m against globalist takeovers, let the Russians decide their own future.

This is not a battle between the West and Russia, it’s a battle between some shadowy force which controls all of us, billionaires who want to inject you with heavens knows what, people who want you to eat bugs and give up your freedoms, this is not what any of us want and I’m not going to cheer them on in their efforts to take down Russia.

Yes.
That sort of thing makes up a good proportion of the clientele of homicide.
When I said TeeVee crime shows focus on serial killers and gangster hits, there is another genre.
That is, the dumb and dumber first (and only) timers.
One of the most celebrated was the Wales-King murders twenty years ago.
Beta son kills domineering mother and stepfather, possibly egged on by his bride.
Gives them a sedative mixed with soup, but undercooks the dose.
Clubs them to death. With an object from the house.
Wraps them in a doona. Yes, yes, from the house.
Hires a trailer for carting the bodies. With his credit card.
Whilst cruising around the hills looking for a burial site, he bought petrol and a map. With his credit card.
And so on.
I believe a couple of coppers initially thought it was so inept it had to be an overcooked frame-up attempt.

Farmers and their allies have accused the coalition government, which includes the Green party, of scapegoating rural Ireland and leaving farmers little option but to cull herds. So far there have been no Dutch-style protests.

I’d like to see the Irish Farmers tell the government to get knotted, and see if they’re game enough to send the police to these farms to shoot the cattle the government deems to be excessive.

The excruciating part of TV detective dramas is twofold: Almost none of the crooks use a lawyer, & they all shoot their mouth off ninety-to-the-dozen.

Were they to STFU, fold their arms, & not say a bluddee thing without a lawyer, most of them would never go to jail – the scriptwriting is so bad there’s almost nothing you could pin on most of them, if only they’d STFU.

Hanging a large light fitting (supplied by us) and installing a power point.
A bit of dicking around, but not more than two hours go-to-whoa.
I dunno what it will cost.
But I am expecting $40/hr x 2 for the apprentice, $60/hr x 2 for the tradie, and no more than $20 for materials (a length of conduit, couple of metres of cable, clips, GPO, etc).
$220 – $250 I think.
But I might get a shock – he he.

cable has doubled in 12 months. For 2.5 twin you’re looking at nearly $2 per meter
conduit is like $5 per 4m length
GPOs are pretty cheap … $10-ish

dont forget travel and whether or not it ruins a whole day

$60 per h is low

more like $80 to 85

Sporty Beamer news (the Hun):

A woman accused of using her BMW to run down her husband and his alleged mistress has denied she ever intended to hit and seriously injure or disable them.

Christie Lee Kennedy has been on trial for the past few days over an incident involving her husband David Larkin and another woman, Zowie Noring, being seriously injured in Brisbane’s northside last year.

And:

Ms Kennedy on Monday pleaded not guilty to charges of malicious act with intent to disable. The Crown contends that she used her white BMW to hit Mr Larkin and Ms Noring, causing them to roll off the bonnet of the car and onto the road.

Ms Kennedy has admitted to assaulting Ms Noring after the incident by punching her multiple times in the back of the head, but her defence counsel contends she never had an intention to hit or disable the pair.

And:

“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” she said. “I sped up to get there to catch him out, whatever he was doing, then realised ‘Oh my god, there’s Dave’.

“I remember hitting on the brakes, trying to stop.”

The jury was told Ms Kennedy was in “such shock” after the collision that she thought she was going to collapse.

Ms Kennedy said she couldn’t park the car to see what was going on as she had already been seen by the pair. “Once I was approaching them I hit the brakes, then I really hit them hard once I was really close,” she said.

I’m going to say it.

Wokeism is cultural socialism, an ideology embraced by the young. Democracy is now dead.
You want to know what’s really sad? Apart from the four years of Donald Trump, who was a fighter and who did fight, and a few others in the US, notably Governor Ron De Santis in Florida, nobody else on the right, across the west, be it here in Oz, New Zealand, UK, Canada, has attempted to fight back against this cultural socialism. I don’t see much hope here in Oz, there might be hope in the US if De Santis nominates and wins. Personally, Top Gov is my guy for 2024.

Putin isn’t “standing up” to Biden and Obama, they’re his allies.

His “defences” of normality and Christendom are more to do with Russia facing massive population/demographic issues, his love of the church is just as cynical as Stalin’s temporary rehabilitation of the Orthodox Church in WWII. As roger has pointed out. Kiril is an “ex” KGB asset.

He is allied to China and North Korea.

There is evidence it has been in the west for at least 10 months longer than we realised. It may have just been natural evolution. Maybe there was a prior leak?

All of the nefarious stuff, likely funded or influenced by the CCP, was merely opportunistic; wargamed and strategised over and over again in different scenarios.

If you think disloyal, envious and unwise people are allied to evil foreign powers with a destructive ideology, if they are capable of enslaving you, assuming they’re stupid (as opposed to unwise) is quite a heroic assumption.

wokeism has evolved out of cultural socialism, it is now a self perpetuating ideology of total destruction of everything critical for a functioning society. impartial law enforcement is dead. food production will be decimated. energy production is already being eradicated . private property is not far behind. total tracking and control is the aim of this ideology. wokeism is evolving into a form of techno fascism that is unique in world history.

According to Nein news, though, she recovered her faculties quite promptly and the fainting couch was not required:-

Kennedy then got out of her car, grabbed the mistress by the hair and punched her in the head screaming “fat moll”, Brisbane District Court was told.

Noring said she could recall being held by the hair and punched “multiple times” by Kennedy after she was struck by the car and regained consciousness.

“I was being called, excuse my French, ‘you’re a f—ing fat moll’,” she said.

Reading above about TV detective shows, one of the better ones is Foxtel’s “The First 48”.

Real life US homicide detectives on the job, and although highly edited, it is instructive how many murderers are so easily caught either by informants, aka “snitches” and clues from their mobile phones. Phones are tracked and place the killer at the scene of the crime or the idiots text their mates about the crime they just committed.

Also, when caught, very few “lawyer up” and then talk themselves into prison.

As you would expect from a US crime series, most are girlfriend or drug related and most of the victims and killers are black or Hispanic.

Crikey, what’s got into the tradesmen in Sancho-land?
They’re working for scab-labour prices.

Average price here; Tradesman $100 hr, apprentice $60 hr.
Fee for attending job: $30 – $100 ($90 = a good average “attendance charge”)
They charge in quarter hour blocks, like solicitors.
So if they’re One hour & 3 minutes, you pay $125 for the tradesman.
Note: These prices are all GST-exclusive, add 11% for what will be printed on the invoice.

This is the “in-town” rate. Heaven only knows what anyone outside the streetlights & 60kph zone would pay.
