I felt the same actually, and it was by default that I mentioned ticking. Up to this morning I was on the tick gullibles side. That ended until someone began manipulating the large numbers of ticks on two of my comments. It’s funny. I think the person doing the manipulation is doing so to show they’re manipulated bullshit.
They’ve been shown to be dishonest crap and should be done away with. Anything that’s dishonest doesn’t deserve to live.
So what happened to Lizzie? Have not seen her on the Cat for a while.
Gays will take virtually zero taxpayer dollars for family tax benefit A or B.
Does being gay make you get solar panels or buy shares in CleanEvent or Manildra?
I was asked if I want to go watch Sydney Swans play next weekend, but I’ll have to say no, I find solar power repulsive.
I thought “bathhouse”.
“So what happened to Lizzie? Have not seen her on the Cat for a while.”
She is greatly missed.
Now public ridicule is verboten.
Top Ender, Lizzie is fine. She pops in and out depending on her mood. She doesn’t need to be encouraged — and shouldn’t be.
Where’s Terry Peterson?

Shoot. We might be cracking him slowly.
One day he’s going to go to a Cat get together and glowingly talk about Leo Strauss and Murray Rothbard.

I can’t cope with anything from the Seekers, sorry.
We are the history we all had to suffer.
I can still manage ABBA though.
Indeed.
Quite so.
From my experience on various Cat incarnations there were three.
Two who expressed a desire to “meet up to sort it out”. Tailgunner when I called out his Anders Breivik fanboi shit and Thought Leader over some ridiculous overreaction to a something I said over a rant he went on over something or other.
The third was St Ruth demanding to know who I was because … well he is, as you say, inclined towards intimidation.
Way to prove a point.
Gonzalo Lira discussed this recently – noted that the Russians are, above all else, and artillery army, and that they knew about the Uke Offensive a while back – says they had already pulled back most of their forces and are now falling back the rest, leaving their arty to feast on the Ukes.
Also observes that the main Rusky objective is to destroy Ukrainian combat forces, NOT to occupy territory.
I spent couple of weeks riding in the states 20y back, including a week in Colorado at Pagosa Springs. Horses, horsemanship and scenery were magnificent, albeit the altitude made one puff a bit.

Are 14 of these yours, Sancho?
I hope so. God forbid so many agree with me.
This seems reasonable until you consider how they failed to take Homostel with paratroopers in the opening days and could have just done a missile and air strike campaign over seven months to destroy forces and legitimate strategic targets.
They had 1000+ of their own MBTs destroyed.
I find it difficult to believe this was intentional at all.

Was at the shops earlier today, buying a tin of Zippo fluid.
Walked in, noticing a skinny 20-y.o.-ish pale specimen with Coke bottle glasses, a Rolling Stones T shirt, hair like Lenny Kravitz and a patchy Catweazle beard. He was at the doorway to the Smokemart joint and peering intently at a shiny silver Zippo.
Get to the counter. ‘A tin of Zippo fluid, please’. And then it started. From behind me:
‘Ohhhhhh excuse me could you help me out. Oh you’re buying Zippo fluid too. You must have a Zippo right because I just got a Zippo because they’re really cool obviously and I can’t open it and take the inside bit out to put the fuel in and I need it because when I’m smoking the lighter always goes out and gets hot and I smoke cigarettes too and obviously I mostly smoke cannabis you know mostly heh and you know when you’re oh and you’ve obviously smoked a bong before and not that I think you’re 420 friendly or anything but you you, you know right’
‘Fuckin’ hang on.’
‘yeah and the lighter goes out and I wanted to get of these and can you show me how to open it is that all right and I’m just asking you know because otherwise I’ll end up just at home and looking at it and I – ‘
‘Yep, yep, just flip the top open – like that, and just pull it out.’ Takes it off him. ‘Like this.’
‘Oh of course yes that’s great and how do you put the fuel in because I got some of that because I’ll need it obviously and which end do you’
‘No no no. Squirt it in on the open end with the packed cottony stuff in it.’ He does so, covering the entire thing in fluid.
‘Don’t try and light it until it dries or you’ll burn your hand off.’
‘Oh right no thank you very much for that no no of course I won’t this is really good thank you so much now I’m set and maybe you don’t smoke I mean cigarettes you smoke and oh it’s none of my business and you can do what you want you know thank you thank you thank you’

Rabz,
A lot of the Vic Cats have been maintaining close contact throughout Covid.
Some have been facilitating services that were being denied to the unvaccinated.
The Cat get togethers have facilitated a close knit network.
A man comes walking out of a brothel.
Right as he walks out in to the street, there’s a little boy, smiling and pointing at the man, saying “Hah! I know what you’ve done! Ooh, I know *exactly* what you’ve done!”
The man is red with embarrassment “Would you keep it down, son?” he said and gave the boy $10 “take this and forget you ever saw me!”
The man then hurries away, and after walking for a little while, he gets home. When unlocking his front door, he looks behind him to see the same little boy from outside the brothel, who’d apparently followed him home.
“Hah! Now I know where you live!” the boy shouted with a huge grin on his face. The man walks over, slips the boy another tenner and tells him sternly “Take this, and keep your mouth shut about all this. Now scram!”
Later that night, the boy’s mother found the $20 in his pocket, and demanded to know how he’d come by it. The boy eventually told her, and she was furious with him.
“Tomorrow, you’re going to church first thing in the morning, you’ll confess to what you’ve done, then you’re going to donate every single penny of your blackmail money!” she told him.
So the next morning the boy goes to church as instructed, where he enters the confessional. He makes the sign of the cross, getting ready to start his confession. He looks up through the window, his face lights up, and he says “Hah! Now I know where you work!”

An 8-year-old girl went to the office with her father on ‘Take your kid to work Day’. As they walked round the office she started crying and getting cranky. Her father asked what was wrong. As the staff gathered round, she sobbed loudly “Daddy, where are all the clowns you said that you worked with?”
First of all, what does that have to do with Kharkov in September? The only units RuAF had in Kharkov appear to be largely light infantry (mainly National Guard and militia), thinly spread with orders to retreat on contact. Even in some of the towns where they resisted for a few days they were able to retreat without being surrounded.
Secondly, the VDV took Hostomel, and held it until relieved 2-3 days in, and the RuAF held it until they withdraw end of March. VDV have been largely actively engaged since the beginning and at the moment are defending in Kherson and doing quite well.
KD – Brunettes are the best.

The Vinyl Solution we’ll call ourselves.
Exactly.
Day 1: taking the airport and long concrete runways in the capital.
Day 201: Retreating back near the border.
I don’t think Putin planned for this. No it doesn’t mean Russia loses or has lost, but failure is being chalked up as successes.
So if the mission is to destroy Ukrainian forces, why didn’t they perform an actual tactical retreat with layered defences? They’re going to effectively pound 6,000 sq km with artillery? The Ukrainian forces can’t disperse, dig in or fall back?
Everything Putin does is being called rolled gold 8D chess.
It isn’t.
Why would you willingly give up an airfield where you can launch fast jets from in a campaign to destroy the enemy’s forces, when you have undisputed air superiority?

There seems to be no end to the praiseworthy virtues displayed by Queen Elizabeth II, but the one I esteem, apart from her awesome sense of duty, is the one I suspect made her beloved of many — her wicked sense of humour.
Whether monarchist or republican, most mature Australians understood the importance of the Queen as a constant steadying influence not only in British politics and the Commonwealth but around the world throughout her reign.
There is a reason tens of thousands of refugees try to reach Britain illegally each year and do not seek to find a home in Russia, China, Iran, or any of the Middle Eastern nations — or South American or African nations, for that matter.
As much as multiculturalists may wish to dilute the Anglosphere, even drown the “old, stale and pale” culture, there is no doubt that the golden threads of the Magna Carta and common law, the conventions of civility and liberalism that run through the constitutions of the Western democracies, owe more to Britain than any other nation.
For as long as she sat on the throne, the Queen embodied the spirit of the great cultural reforms, despite the ill-mannered attempts by some since her death to tarnish her legacy with the perceived sins of long-dead forebears. The trans-Atlantic slave trade wasn’t her family’s fault and was not brought to an end by any African or any Middle Eastern country (indeed it still persists in parts of Africa and the Gulf) — it was brought to an end by British parliamentarians and the Royal Navy.
The two world wars fought in the last century may have been brought to an end by the interventions of America but, in both, Great Britain was the only European country the Germans attempted to attack but failed to conquer.
The late Queen spent her teenage years in this crucible of fire, an experience which endowed her with an unmatchable resoluteness of spirit and universal empathy that endured to her end.
The “keep calm and carry on” tradition of her parents throughout the Luftwaffe’s blitz bombings of London, when Hitler’s Nazis rained terror on the city night after night, gave her the fortitude to maintain her poise and dignity through crisis after crisis — the IRA bombings in London, the assassination of her cousin Lord Mountbatten in Ireland, the mass strikes which crippled Britain until Margaret Thatcher tamed the militant trade unions, Brexit, and her own family’s domestic upheavals.
Wits today like to claim that the Royal Family is dysfunctional, but which family or extended family has not experienced a degree of stressful torment brought about by some maladjusted member?
The Queen was no stranger to bizarre familial circumstances with the elevation of her father to king upon the abdication of his brother when she was aged 10, becoming heir to the throne, followed by her own coronation when aged just 27, and a young mother.
The occasional outbreaks of disharmony within the young Commonwealth she inherited from her father were treated with the same maternal regard as arguments within her own family.
That Commonwealth, a grouping originally of just eight nations in 1949, received its two newest members in June, with the admission of Gabon and Togo as its 55th and 56th members respectively at the closing session of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kigali, Rwanda, in June.
It is worth noting that both countries are former French colonies, signifying the continuing importance of the Commonwealth to disparate nations of varying races and vastly different economies and political structures 73 years after its formation.
Seventy and a half years is a long time to rule, the longest reign of anyone who has ever ascended to a throne as a mature person in the history of the world.
As one of the generations of reporters who covered royal tours in Australia and elsewhere, it was always a pleasure to meet her at receptions she and other family members held for the working press. Invariably, no matter where we were, she would ask me and my News colleagues: “And how is Mr Murdoch?”
I last met her in 2002 during her Golden Jubilee tour at a reception at Admiralty House overlooking Sydney Harbour.
On my arrival, I was asked by an equerry to stand beside a particular window in the drawing room with the late Red Harrison, the mahogany-voiced BBC correspondent and presenter of the ABC’s flagship AM program.
We were in position when the Queen entered and made a beeline toward us.
After pleasantries, she fixed on Harrison and said how she turned to the BBC each morning and much appreciated his reports from Australia before smiling wickedly and adding: “I look forward to my Red in bed every morning.”
God bless you, Ma’am, rest in the peace you deserve.
Can you think of another raid where the FBI put out pictures of what they found in that way?

Dot
I thought you were smarter than that.
So you’re no longer disputing that the VDV held it until relieved as did RuAF until they withdrew in late March. The only reason they would want to capture the airfield is to bring in troops and supplies. RUS warplanes would operate from their airfields in Russia I would have thought.
They did perform a tactical retreat , which is why UKR suffered heavy losses, and they made it back to the Oskil and held that line since.
You have all seen Kash Patels playing cards haven’t you?
If that’s not Q in your face you are a part of the 90%.

To be continued …

Rabz,
Dare I say it, as I love your work.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about well you just might be in the 90%.
Whatever….
Or less stuff, depending upon what it is.
Oh dear.
If the Old Testament Book of Faulty and the Gospel according to St Ruth have taught us anything, it is this:-
I don’t really care, the point is they ultimately weren’t successful and they didn’t last long.
Day 1: take an airfield in the capital with fast jet capability.
Day 201: retreat near the border.
You actually didn’t consider the offensive value of this? Bringing an airfield anywhere from 200 to 400 km forward will decisively help operations, less fuel will be used and the air force planes get more loiter time to attack targets, otherwise can attack deeper into enemy territory.
They wanted to bring supplies in for a month…then decided not to capture Kiev?
Perhaps they did; why can’t a professional army then counterattack a severely depleted enemy with armour and mechanised infantry?
Every single time Putin’s motives are questioned or any possible failure is mentioned, there is always an excuse, no matter how incredulous.
So then I’d ask if Putin really does seek to destroy the Ukrainian military and liquidate possible recruits or conscripts, what would his motivation for doing so be, or what would be his likely next step?
Does that conflict at all with the “shirtless defender of Christendom” meme?
No, Squire. An unrepentant contrarian all my life.
It’s why I’m currently “estranged”* from everyone in my family.
*What sort of a woid is “estranged”, FFS? Gifted to us by those stupid bloody garlic hoovering frogs, presumably.

Are you watching old episodes of “Kung Fu” with David Carradine?
The wisdom sounds vaguely familiar.
And familiarily vague.
No, you made a claim about the VDV and Gostomel which was wrong. If you didn’t care the reference was pointless. Now you’re make a claim about different operations as if they’re connected.
I did but operating an airfield close to the UKR air defense and artillery would be a factor. Also, parts and fuel have to get to that airport to make it useful for operating aircraft.
Because they have units resting and refitting, are conducting offensive operations elsewhere, a defense in the South, and they have only deployed a certain number of troops. I was surprised they gave up Izyium but it appears that it was less important for supply once they captured Severdonetsk and Lysichansk.
If Cats have not watched Steve Bannons speech at TPUSA (no notes) just overnight, then you haven’t seen what being immersed in the current situation and what it looks like.
In recent months, women have increasingly removed their veils in an act of defiance, and seeing unveiled women isn’t uncommon on the streets of Tehran. Iran’s laws require all women to wear a hijab — a headscarf — and other clothing worn to demonstrate modesty in Islamic societies. The law also bans wearing too much makeup or clothing that authorities deem inappropriate.
Flights to Tehran are interesting. All normal until pilot announces that you’re entering Iranian airspace and that women must don their hijabs. The whole flight then becomes quiet and morose.
I think it is a new off-road camper trailer.

What I do know is, the Q posts are a very good indicator about what is actually happening.

You are splitting hairs. They gave up an incredibly valuable asset within a very short timeframe.
They have lost the initiative. If they wanted to counterattack Ukraine has had time to dig in, resupply and bring in reinforcements.
The supposed goals of Russia just change whenever it suits. “Special military operation”. “Getting rid of awful right wing extremists”. “Retake land that is rightfully Russian”. “Destroy the military forces of the Ukraine”.
Russia took the Donets region on 22 February. They could have stopped there. He could have offered an olive branch with all three “rightful” territories reclaimed.
Get some sleep custard.
and that is dumbest thing you ever said

Nice thought but who or what will bring justice since all the levers of power are in the hands of the criminals who are tightening the noose around our necks on a daily basis and literally criminalising dissent? If there was any power that could turn back the tide then why have things been allowed to progress so far down the road to ruination? I’ve read the Q drops and, uplifting as they are, what do they actually achieve?

I shall wrap the prospect, nay prediction, that Trump will once again will be POTUS in 2023, around my troubled brow as I lay down in bed.
I always assumed that throughout history blokes who mimicked females were only doing so such as to get into the harem and root all women in a spectacular display of Carry On like shenanigans.
Doesn’t make any sense otherwise.
Good on ‘em I say. High risk strategy, if the Sultan finds your todge, you’re history.
The other way around, chicks pretending to be blokes, I have no explanation for.
The thing with making predictions based on Q is that the whole premise of Q is that he predicted the Trump administration was going to start TheStorm™ and round up all the Deep State denizens to frogmarch them off to gaol… and then nothing happened, and a string of office holders in the Trump administration got frogmarched off to gaol by the Deep State.
Q is by losers, for losers.
6 months into the conflict and Russia hasn’t established air superiority. That’s a bad fail. Leaving assets behind is not strategic retreat it is a rout.
I am surprised that Russia is doing so poorly, by now it should be a mopping up operation. I knew long before this conflict started that there are serious problems with the Russian military but I still expected them to have finished this.
shut the fuck up you fuckwit
No I don’t. You owe me an apology for pretending you understood what Fester said and now showing you have no clue. Man up Bush.
I’m not splitting hairs. I countered the false claim that the VDV failed to capture Gostomel. And a location is only valuable if it suits the operational objectives. If you withdraw from the north continuing to hold the airport is both impossible and pointless.
They haven’t lost the initiative at all. They are still advancing in Donbas, they have blunted the offensive in Kherson, and reports are suggesting that the UKR forces concentrating in Zaporizhzhia are likely to find that zone better defended then they hoped for.
Special military operation isn’t a goal. But the three raised seem to be operative simultaneously and have been since the beginning.
No it didn’t. It still has a third to a quarter of the Donetsk oblast to go and Donetsk City is still being shelled daily as we speak. And it only captured the entirety of Luhansk oblast once Severodonetsk and Lysychansk fell.
They enjoy air superiority where it matters, over the battlefield. And apart from pics from a Crimean depot being paraded as hardware left behind, I haven’t really seen evidence of many assets left behind in Kharkov. If it was a rout, how did the RuAF manage to form a defensive line that the UKR have been unable to breakthrough less than 50 kms from the original frontline?
Came across an old Desert Island Discs with Marianne Faithfull on YT.
She had some interesting comments re Mick and Keef, quite positive.
Said Mick was meticulous, very clean, and with an eclectic range of interests.
She, too, is no slouch. Father a Deutsche baron. On top of her record selection was Jussi Bjorling.
Snow is potentially a great indicator for AGW, Bush. Fester reckons that it isn’t with this comment here:
Bush, visualize a trendline through his stupid chart for Northern Hem and Eurasia in particular. Not for 25 years, but since the beginning of the time-series (1970) and you will see that snow fall appears have dropped since that time. This is from the idiot’s own chart. In these matters, long term charts are much more worthwhile than short term.
They are still losing aircraft. If they had air superiority they wouldn’t need a defensive line they would roam freely across Ukraine. The problem for Russia is a lack of targeting pods, radar warning receivers, and pilots with far too little training time, at least half of what is required to be a minimum. Air superiority has to be very widespread because modern surface to air missiles have a very long range. There are numerous reports of of assets being left behind. 6 months into a conflict and retreating is not strategic it is a failure. If you’re winning you don’t retreat to regroup, you hold your ground and regroup behind the lines.
I can’t wait for Russia to fall back and regroup completely behind its old border with Ukraine, it will really be winning then.

Are you still feeling optimistic the ticking isn’t being manipulated?
Under these conditions we couldn’t say that the US had air superiority in Europe even in 1945. The other thing that complicates this is that UKR is being supplied with air defense systems, and they have assistance from NATO AWACS. If they were to establish the sort of air superiority that would enable them to roam freely in Western Ukraine they would need to destroy those assets. On the other hand, their cruise missiles appear to be able to do the work that aircraft would do anyway.
I’m sure they left a few assets behind.
They retreated on contact in one area that was lightly defended. The retreat was orderly, and quickly solidified on a preplanned line of defense which UKR as yet has been unable to break. If this was a rout why was the UKR unable to exploit the breakthrough?
I never said I was optimistic. You can obviously manipulate the ticks if you’re motivated but the significance is trivial. It’s not like you can’t manipulate commenting by using socks and the like.
There’s a name I’ve not encountered for a while.
Didn’t mind a bit of the old Jussi, as a complement (or a contrast) to all the Slim Dusty.
Define trivial?
Of little significance.
Here’s the ex-strafor guy talking about the Russian/China summit. Zeihan also talks about the break between China and the US.
According to him, Putin is now China’s chief bootlicker. Rasputin uttered in support every single Chinese talking point. Meanwhile the Chinese gave nothing away and raking in commodities at up to 30 to 40% discount to the world market.
Putin/Russia winning. Putin, winning like a crazy fuck..

You obviously think they are important even if they can be manipulated to hell and back. Why would you hold onto to something that is misleading and dishonest?
That is certainly what the GAE want everyone to believe following the SCO meeting; and they think that reporting it as such will conjure this reality.
I introduced them because people mark their agreement with a tick. Before that, you would have to refer to the comment and right, ditto, or seconded, what have you. So it saves space and avoids repetition. Not important, but not trivial either.
It, on the whole, is neither misleading or dishonest, but like anything, it can be abused. Now, if something appears unusual in the ticks being given to a comment, maybe take the number with a pinch of salt.
We need to remind ourselves often that many of the things that seem novel and concerning to us today, be they antifa riots or Russian expansionism, are repeats of things that occur time after time and in their current incarnations are simply the same things in new clothes.
This interview with Ronald Reagan shows the USA faced all the same problems back then that we have today:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTyZAul60ok
Okay, if that’s delusional what is reality then? Russia didn’t sign up to every single Chinese demand and China signed up to not a single Russian request. Both these points appear to be true. Russia isn’t selling commodities to China at 30 to 40% discount. That in fact is correct, they are.
Russia also asked for Chinese troops and China said no way. In fact the only thing China agreed to was to offer Russia diplomatic support. Huge!
Here’s what has also happened with Russia’s “winning” retreat. Since the Russian rout of the past couple of weeks, Ukraine has accumulated more equipment from Russia than the equipment the west has offered Ukraine since the start of the war.
Moreover, the one thing we can now say is that the Russian empire is finished. Russia is no longer even a regional power.
Give the sprocket leadership 48 votes for mentioning Reagan. Only fair.
Not sure if it’s a sign of economic or decline.
Last night for the first time in years I smelled marijuana smoke out the back of the pub (or rather, what I’ve always been told is marijuana smoke)
Can’t remember when last I smelled this near the pub, possibly 15 or 20 yrs ago.
Ticking is stupid compared to actual replies.
If people agree, they may add other reasons that weren’t mentioned and are perhaps novel to the frame. Don’t undersell replies and oversell ticks.
Yes, and it appears to be abused as this thread shows. It’s now beyond dispute.
Why create such doubt when there’s no need to. Now that the ticking has been found to be manipulated it’s lost any usefulness it ever had.
Slim Dusty’s song has been redone to the lyrics of, A Pubbler With No Pub. Very funny.
He recorded more than 1200 songs.
Which one do you mean?
FMD,you’re a dim bulb, Driller. You’re the biggest lying, dimmest cretin here. A total loser.

Three old ladies are sitting on a bench in a park just chatting the day away… as old ladies tend to do. Suddenly, a man in a trench coat walks up to them and flashes them with all that god gave him. Well, the first old lady had a stroke right away. The second old lady had a stroke soon after. The third old lady, being elder and feebler, couldn’t reach that far.
I made that point many…many months ago when there was a lot of angst. There was obviously someone/s upticking some vicious and cruel stuff directed at one commenter. And it seems to me that the more fragile the target appears at the time, the more pressure is applied.
I’d call the whole brouhaha TickGate. It has a resonance with pest control.
The arena at Pula is magnificent. Unlike the Rome one, it only has bleachers to one side, cleverly taking advantage of the sloping site.
We also visited Porec which has an interesting basilica – mosaics reminiscent of the ones across the Adriatic at Ravenna.
All in all, this stretch of coastline is just perfect. Oh, and I’ve sampled the Istrian truffles. Mmmmmmm. With bells on.
Oh. And I demand many…many upticks for my travelogue. But not all at once please or someone might suspect manipulation.
