Conservatism is the opposite of radicalism. All functioning societies need to be essentially conservative or they cease to exist.

From a brilliant short essay by Dennis Prager:

Liberty is a liberal value as well as a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. Liberty cannot be a left-wing value because the more liberty individuals have, the less power the government has. Conversely, the weaker the state, the weaker the Left.
This especially holds true for the greatest of all liberties — free speech.
Free speech is a fundamental conservative value, and it has been a fundamental liberal value. But it has never been a left-wing value. For that reason, everywhere the Left is dominant — government, media, universities — it stifles dissent. The reason is simple: no left-wing movement can survive an open exchange of ideas. Leftist ideologies are emotion- and power-based, not reason- or morality-based. So, leftists cannot allow honest debate. They do not argue with opponents; they suppress them.

I will confess to a certain schadenfreude watching Labor trying to grapple, after reckless promise-making to win the election, with finding the pantry stripped when they got in.

It is the inevitable result of having two major spendaholic Labor parties having their heels nipped by minor spendaholic parties.

The schadenfreude does not really make up for the perilous position we find ourselves in…but it is something.

Hong Kong stares down US on Russian-owned super yacht

Hong Kong | Hong Kong’s leader John Lee said on Tuesday he would only implement United Nations sanctions, after the US warned the territory’s status as a financial centre could be affected if it acts as a safe haven for sanctioned individuals.

Mr Lee’s statement on Tuesday came days after a luxury yacht connected to Russian tycoon Alexey Mordashov docked in the city.

Hong Kong authorities have said that they do not implement unilateral sanctions imposed by other governments.

“We cannot do anything that has no legal basis,” Mr Lee told reporters. “We will comply with United Nations sanctions, that is our system, that is our rule of law,” he said.

Apparently the CPS often refuses to prosecute

The chances of police prosecuting shoplifters in Sadiq Khan’s London are something approaching zero.
I can remember being in a supermarket in Paris (which was just on the edge of the DMZ) and seeing an aspiring rapper attempt to stuff a bottle of spirits down his pants. Didn’t fit so he removed the outer box and threw it on the floor. I don’t know why he bothered concealing it. Staff and other customers just averted their eyes and pretended it wasn’t happening.

Only 53 Per Cent of Gen Z Britons Are ‘Exclusively Straight’ – Stonewall Research

In its ‘Rainbow Britain Report’ for 2022, the LGBTQ+ activist organisation hailed the fact that “our lives and experiences are now more visible than they have ever been — in every community, and in all aspects of life, in Great Britain.”

They noted, in particular, the fact that “only 71 per cent of people identify as straight” among Generation Z, according to their Ipsos-conducted research — compared to 91 per cent of Baby Boomers.

Moreover, fully 14 per cent of this young demographic “identify as bi or pansexual” — an astonishing rise from the mere 2 per cent of Baby Boomers who do so.

Generation Z may be even more “queer”, as Stonewall puts it, than even these figures suggest, with only 53 per cent identifying as “exclusively straight”.

“[Forty per cent] have a pattern of attraction that could be described as queer,” they crowed, defining this as anything “outside the scope of exclusively heterosexual attractions between cisgender people”.

The identities offered survey respondents ran the gamut from the familiar heterosexual/straight, bisexual, gay, and lesbian — a separate category from gay, for whatever reason — to the more bizarre “omnisexual” and “pansexual” — the latter of which now accounts for 1 per cent of the overall population and four per cent of the Gen Z population, apparently.

They also found that two per cent of the overall population and five per cent of the Gen Z population are supposedly “asexual or ace”.

People who are only attracted to the opposite sex appear to be falling with each successive generation, with the 53 per cent for Gen Z contrasting with 61 per cent for Millennials, 71 per cent for Generation X, and 77 per cent for Baby Boomers.

“Taking account of the 7 per cent who don’t know, or prefer not to say, two in five (40 per cent) of the youngest people in our survey have attractions that are queer,” Stonewall observed of its fidings.

BREAKING BIG: Pfizer Director Admits Vaccine was Never Tested on Preventing Transmission During EU Hearing Contrary to Previous Claims (VIDEO)

By Jim Hoft

During the COVID-19 EU hearing, Pfizer’s president of international developed markets, Janine Small, admitted that the vaccine had never been tested on its ability to prevent transmission, contrary to what was previously advertised.

Robert “Rob” Roos, a politician from the Netherlands who is also a member of the European Parliament, exposed the lie that people from all over the world had been led to believe.

“If you don’t get vaccinated, you’re antisocial. This is what the Dutch prime minister and health minister told us. You don’t get vaccinated just for yourself, but also for others. You do it for all of society, that’s what they said. Today, this turned out to be complete nonsense. ” Roos said in his viral bombshell video posted on Twitter.

“In a COVID hearing in the European Parliament, one of the Pfizer directors just admitted to me at the time of introduction, the vaccine had never been tested on stopping the transmission of the virus,” Roos said.

n one of the most atrocious crimes against humanity, all the governments worked together with big pharma and big tech to deceive the general public into taking the COVID shot.

They lied to us. They coerced millions of people into being vaccinated on the lie of preventing transmission.

“This removed the entire legal basis for the covert passport. The COVID passport that led to massive institutional discrimination as people lost access to essential parts of society. I find this to be shocking, even criminal,” Roos added.

State Department Spokesman Ned Price: Giving Ukraine Billions Is ‘Foreign Policy For The Middle Class’

State Department Spokesman Ned Price defended the Biden administration’s policy of aid for Ukraine as part of a “foreign policy for the middle class” during a press briefing Tuesday.

One reporter asked Price how the administration felt about the fact that the U.S. has given more than double the aid to Ukraine that Europe has, and how the immense spending on weapons and other aid for Ukraine to defend itself against Russia’s invasion comports with President Joe Biden’s campaign promise to implement a “foreign policy for the middle class.”

“The costs of this are not insignificant. In fact, to the contrary, they are significant. The costs of inaction would be far greater,” Price said, without going into specifics about those costs.

Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo Discusses His Decision to Recommend Against COVID-19 Vaccines for Young Adult Males

On October 7, the Office of Florida’s Surgeon General Joseph A. Ladapo, MD, PhD, issued an announcement recommending “against males aged 18 to 39 from receiving mRNA Covid-19 vaccines.” [link] This created quite a stir as his advice goes against the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and numerous other scientific organizations.

Dr. Ladapo cited a Florida health dept study showing an 84% increase in the incidence of cardiac-related death among males 18-39 years old within 28 days following mRNA vaccination. Immediately Dr. Ladapo became a target by federal officials, big tech and defensive media. {Direct Rumble Link} Dr. Ladapo appeared on Tucker Carlson last night to discuss. WATCH: 2 Mins 27 Secs

Lays out trail of Dotbait….

I am a woman in a long-term relationship with the father of our two young adult daughters. He is a great dad and a caring partner. He’s loyal and in love with me. I love him but rarely feel like having sex with him.* I’m struggling with my desire to be hugged and heard without feeling obliged to have sex with him in return. Sometimes I can imagine myself into a playful state where I’m more likely to feel turned on, but it’s rare (other than when we go on holiday and I’m much more receptive). The other aspect of my sexuality is that I’ve always been attracted to other men. I’ve had casual relationships with a few men** over the past 25 years. I don’t feel as guilty as I think I should. My partner is an introverted homebody, whereas I love to go out to gigs and social events. Of course, I inevitably meet other men there and am attracted to their energy.***

Ill be the agony aunt for this one.
Dear rancid slag. KYS, preferably after taking out a large insurance policy to compensate your husband for having to have shared genitalia with 25 years of randoms.

The gruinaids version…
It seems to me you are managing this dilemma – and doing so as well as anyone can. Long-term monogamy is hard for everyone. Feeling “less guilty” than one thinks one should about extramarital sexual experiences is common among those who understand that, in many societies, social norms and boundaries are in conflict with fundamental biological urges. Celebrate the differences between you, and do what you have to do to get your needs met while honouring the long-term bond and commitment between you as well as your joint responsibilities. Not everyone can navigate these ubiquitous dilemmas with grace, safety and a minimum of chaos; just continue to do your best.

Biden Announces U.S. Air Defense System for Ukraine Following Retaliatory Russian Missile Attacks

October 10, 2022 – Sundance

Like the bombing of the Nordstream pipeline, it is highly likely the Kerch Strait bridge targeting was planned by Ukraine and the United States. However, we are not permitted to speak about these coordinated efforts. The bottom line is the U.S. Biden administration going further toward direct engagement with Russia via the proxy state of Ukraine.

BIG PICTURE – The baseline for the global aspect to the Ukraine conflict remains rooted in the economic cleaving underway. Saudi Arabia has expressed their alignment with OPEC+, including Russia, on a coordinated oil supply. The NATO alliance broadly wants to pressure their partners away from oil, coal and natural gas. Thus, today in addition to the phone call with Zelenskyy, Joe Biden called German Chancellor Olaf Scholz:

The western ideologues, politicians, corporations and banks (yellow on map) are trying to force a new global energy system. However, there is opposition from multiple nations (grey on map) who see the effort to shift away from oil, coal and natural gas as economic suicide.

The citizens within the western alliance nations are suffering the consequences of the global economic cleaving. Energy driven inflation, a purposefully created problem, is creating a recession amid the western alliance nations. The monetary policy of U.S., EU, CA, NZ and AU is currently constructed to lower economic activity to support the reduced amount of energy resources available.

Specifically, because the Ukraine conflict is being used as a justification for political economic and monetary policy, there appears to be no limit in what the U.S. will do to widen the ideological war against Russia. Unfortunately, the era of great pretending forbids anyone from talking openly about the true root of the issue.

It seems clear now that NATO, led by the USA, is willing to escalate a European war if that’s what it takes to protect the climate change goals.

We are pretending our way into a war.

Held up at the airport for QF11 due to chaos in Security. Not even boarding yet. They’d better not say it was due to late arrival of the aircraft, says Hairy. That plane’s been there since 7am. He should know because he was at hotel window early checking on it. He likes to stay at Rydges 181 steps from check in, as they bill themselves. We could have taken an early cab from home but I think the real reason he insists on hotelling it there the night before is because he enjoys watching the planes come and go and other airport activity. He spent quite a while last nite holding a glass of wine admiring the skills of a fork lift driver packin stuff into a warehouse. Men can be simple creatures at times. Will Germany sink the EU?

Destroying Germany’s economic lifeline

Someone blew up Nord Stream pipelines bringing in cheap, abundant natural gas from Russia to Germany. German economy depended on this resource for nearly 60% of its industrial production. As Zoltan Pozsar suggested, $2 trillion of German value depended on $20 billion of Russian gas.

We can’t be sure who blew up the pipelines, but the most likely suspects are all Germany’s supposed friends and allies: the US, UK, Poland, Sweden and Denmark.

Adding insult to injury

Last month one of the key architects of this catastrophe, Berlin’s hapless Economy minister, Robert Habeck publicly complained about the situation in an interview to German media. Only yesterday, French economy minister Bruno Le Maire chimed in: “We cannot accept that our American partner sells its LNG four times the price at which it sells it to its own industries.” But these lamentations come far too late to mitigate the extreme damage to European economies.

Beseiged from all sides…

Thus, together with Poland’s bold demand for 1.3 trillion Euros in WW2 reparations, Germany has suddenly found itself besieged by its “friends” and “allies” on many fronts

As Hans Peter Wollseifer, president of the Central Association of German Crafts said to the Rheinische post, “Every day, we receive emergency calls from companies that are about to stop production because they can no longer pay the enormously increased energy bills.” The Federation of German Industries (BDI) also warned of a wave of bankruptcies due to energy cost inflation which is now a major challenge for 58% of companies while 34% believe that the crisis jeopardizes their very survival.

Germany has (potentially) one reliable partner

The nation is being pushed to destruction. But while this may note be apparent to the unsuspecting consumers of western corporate media narrative, Germany has found itself in the situation where it may have only one partner to rely upon. If you guessed Russia, you guessed correctly.

German subsidies arms-race could sink the EU

You’re quite happy to live with people making assertions that you’re bias favors. That’s okay, you can believe the earth is flat or Hallward is a former astronaut just because he claims so. Fine with me

The key about large organizations is that.. well they have large numbers of people working for them. You really believe that Pfizer didn’t just cut corners, but actually sent out a vaccine that hadn’t been tested AT ALL. That’s what the former employee claims. Also, a huge number of people have kept it quiet about and so has the FDA.

China asked Elon Musk not to sell Starlink within the country (11 Oct)

In an interview with the Financial Times last week, Elon Musk revealed that figures in the Chinese government have asked him directly to withhold Starlink access within China. Musk told FT that, in the publication’s summary, “Beijing has made clear its disapproval of his recent rollout of Starlink…in Ukraine” and “sought assurances he would not sell Starlink in China.”

I suspect Starlink terminals and dishes are going be hot property in the celestial empire.

Anybody know what has happened to Mike Yeodan? He is the former VP of Pfizer ( he went on to run his own company & had since retired) who expressed amazement at the lack of normal procedures followed in the premature release of the Covid vaccine. He was sufficiently vocal to fear for his life and last year moved from the UK to Florida. From there he released another stinging criticism of Pfizer in particular, & the producers of the Covid vaccines in general.

Yeah, I believe that. He moved from the UK to Florida , not because of the better weather, no siree. He moved to Florida because he feared for his life in the UK and felt much, much safeer because Florida is 9 hours flight time from London and those big bad guys couldn’t threaten him in the new digs as its so far away and remote.. I believe that, like who wouldn’t.

I’d take a small bet the person is a former disgruntled employee.

Do we have our wires crossed, JC?

Janine Small is a Pfizer executive, not a former employee. She was responsible for marketing the vaccine to the EU. What she says in the clip tallies with what the BMJ reported at the time – Pfizer & Moderna expedited their trials to get their vaccines to market without the usual rigourous testing for efficacy in regard to preventing both serious disease and transmission. The justification for this at the time was just as Small says in the clip – the need for the vaccines was deemed too urgent to engage in extended trials. The role of the FDA & our own authorities in authorising the vaccines is another question, but let’s just say that Pfizer et. al. weren’t as energetic as they might have been in correcting the information governments gave to their citizens.

We don’t know. I suspect the vax had some impact on the Alpha strain but just as the vax was being distributed the mutation commenced and we ended up with delta and then, quickly the Omni.

That isn’t the point though,

The bint made a very specific assertion – that the vax was not tested. I don’t believe this to be true. Moreover, in the beginning of the vax distribution, there was no apparent suspicion that Pfizer’s was reacting any differently to the others. In fact, Pfizers was considered superior to the one we had in oz, which I think was the Oxford one.

Federal Officials Trade Stock in Companies Their Agencies Oversee

Hidden records show thousands of senior executive branch employees owned shares of companies whose fates were directly affected by their employers’ actions, a Wall Street Journal investigation found

Thousands of officials across the government’s executive branch reported owning or trading stocks that stood to rise or fall with decisions their agencies made, a Wall Street Journal investigation has found.

More than 2,600 officials at agencies from the Commerce Department to the Treasury Department, during both Republican and Democratic administrations, disclosed stock investments in companies while those same companies were lobbying their agencies for favorable policies. That amounts to more than one in five senior federal employees across 50 federal agencies reviewed by the Journal.

A top official at the Environmental Protection Agency reported purchases of oil and gas stocks. The Food and Drug Administration improperly let an official own dozens of food and drug stocks on its no-buy list. A Defense Department official bought stock in a defense company five times before it won new business from the Pentagon.

The Journal obtained and analyzed more than 31,000 financial-disclosure forms for about 12,000 senior career employees, political staff and presidential appointees. The review spans 2016 through 2021 and includes data on about 850,000 financial assets and more than 315,000 trades reported in stocks, bonds and funds by the officials, their spouses or dependent children.

AMONG THE JOURNAL’S FINDINGS:

• While the government was ramping up scrutiny of big technology companies, more than 1,800 federal officials reported owning or trading at least one of four major tech stocks: Meta Platforms Inc.’s Facebook, Alphabet Inc.’s Google, Apple Inc. and Amazon.com Inc.

• More than five dozen officials at five agencies, including the Federal Trade Commission and the Justice Department, reported trading stock in companies shortly before their departments announced enforcement actions, such as charges and settlements, against those companies.

• More than 200 senior EPA officials, nearly one in three, reported investments in companies that were lobbying the agency. EPA employees and their family members collectively owned between $400,000 and nearly $2 million in shares of oil and gas companies on average each year between 2016 and 2021.

• At the Defense Department, officials in the office of the secretary reported collectively owning between $1.2 million and $3.4 million of stock in aerospace and defense companies on average each year examined by the Journal. Some held stock in Chinese companies while the U.S. was considering blacklisting the companies.

• About 70 federal officials reported using riskier financial techniques such as short selling and options trading, with some individual trades valued at between $5 million and $25 million. In all, the forms revealed more than 90,000 trades of stocks during the six-year period reviewed.

• When financial holdings caused a conflict, the agencies sometimes simply waived the rules. In most instances identified by the Journal, ethics officials certified that the employees had complied with the rules, which have several exemptions that allow officials to hold stock that conflicts with their agency’s work.

Number of federal officials who reported owning specific tech stocks, 2016-21

Federal agency officials, many of them unknown to the public, wield “immense power and influence over things that impact the day-to-day lives of everyday Americans, such as public health and food safety, diplomatic relations and regulating trade,” said Don Fox, an ethics lawyer and former general counsel at the U.S. agency that oversees conflict-of-interest rules.

He said many of the examples in the Journal analysis “clearly violate the spirit behind the law, which is to maintain the public’s confidence in the integrity of the government.”

Some federal officials use investment advisers who direct their stock trading, but such trades still can create conflicts under the law. “The buck stops with the official,” said Kathleen Clark, a law professor and former ethics lawyer for the Washington, D.C., government. “It’s the official who could benefit or be harmed…. That can occur regardless of who made the trade.”

Investing by federal agency officials has drawn far less public attention than that of lawmakers. Congress has long faced criticism for not prohibiting lawmakers from working on matters in which they have a financial interest. The rules were tightened in 2012 by the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act, passed following a series of Journal articles on congressional trading abuses.

Journal reporting last year on federal judges, revealing that more than 130 jurists heard cases in which they had a financial interest, led to a law passed this May requiring judges to promptly post online any stock trades they make.

This article launches a Journal series on the financial holdings of senior executive-branch employees and, in some instances, conflicts of interest hidden in their disclosure forms.

U.S. law prohibits federal officials from working on any matters that could affect their personal finances. Additional regulations adopted in 1992 direct federal employees to avoid even an appearance of a conflict of interest.

The 1978 Ethics in Government Act requires senior federal employees above a certain pay level to file annual financial disclosures listing their income, assets and loans. The financial figures are reported in broad dollar ranges.

Most officials’ financial disclosures are public only upon request. The Journal obtained disclosure forms by filing written requests with each federal agency.

Some made it difficult to obtain the forms, and several agencies haven’t turned over all of them. The Department of Homeland Security hasn’t provided any financial records. (See an accompanying article on methodology.)

The Article continues – extremely long and interesting read

Funding Panic Imminent? Fed Quietly Sends $3.1 Billion To Switzerland Via Swap Line

Fast forward two weeks when there still hasn’t been any formal announcement from the Fed, but every so quietly – and just as we expected – the Fed shuttled $3.1 billion to the Swiss National Bank to cover an emergency dollar shortfall.

The next logical question obviously is: why does Switzerland suddenly have a financial institution needing $3 billion in cheap (3.33%) overnight funding. We don’t know the answer, but have a pretty good idea of who the culprit may be. (Credit Suisse)

You have to remember the absolute hysteria surrounding Kung Flu early in 2020. President Trump was committed to fast-tracking vaccine development — and, despite the media’s hatred of him, he was applauded because it was a very popular move.

The media’s primary mission was getting Trump out of the White House and — using the old media methodology of beating up everything tabloid-style — maintaining the public’s fear of Kung Flu to make people more compliant for Big Government in Washington DC.

What part of did not test the vaccine for preventing transmission of Covid
is not understood?
She didn’t say it was not tested at all. If you look at the testing that was done it was all pretty hurried and sketchy. The vaccines were NOT tested to normal standards. They are under an EMERGENCY USE AUTHORISATION (EUA). Now when you use an EUA it means there are NO other reasonable treatments available which just happens to explain the demonisation of HCQ/Ivermectin, zinc, vitamin D etc. If those treatments had been shown to be reasonably effective the EUA would have to have been withdrawn meaning no money for Pfizer and the other grifters.
This was a political vaccine.
Still waiting to know just what was done to make a “successful” corona virus vax. After SARS COV-1 in the early 2000’s people were worried by that as the fatality rate was something like 10%. There was a 5 or 6 year effort to develop a vaccine which totally failed and so was abandoned.

I remember Tel pointing out last year that the vaxxes weren’t tested for transmissability.

The issue of transmissibility was discussed on the old Cat in some considerable detail in late 2020 – particularly as it applied to the medico-political goal of ‘herd immunity’.

I don’t carry this stuff on my phone, but I clearly recall that there was significant expert doubt (including from Moderna IIRC) that any of the Covid vaccines provided ‘sterilising immunity’ – ie prevented the virus from entering and replicating in vaccinated humans and stopping the chain of transmission.

Meanwhile as a Reminder

CDC’s Definition of ‘Vaccine’ Has Changed Over Time: ‘Protection’ vs. ‘Immunity’

As CNSNews.com reported on May 4, 2021, the CDC at that time defined vaccination as “The act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce immunity to a specific disease.

But that definition has changed over time. The CDC website now defines vaccination as “the act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce protection from a specific disease.”

The CDC’s definition of “vaccine” also has changed: Last spring, CDC defined a vaccine as “a product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease.”

The definition of “vaccine” now reads: “A preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases.”

Last spring, when CDC said vaccination produced “immunity,” the health agency also admitted it was “still learning” about how effective COVID vaccines are; whether they protect against variants; whether they keep people from spreading the disease; and how long the protection lasts.

Dozens of people turning up, even for the most dilapidated dump.
Prices are effectively the floor price for people to lodge offers above, real estate agents are effectively running moving auctions during home opens, but you dont know if its bullshit or there really have been 3 offers on the $400,000 house which means youd have to offer over $415,000 to be the purchaser.

When we bought our home in Subi, late 1988, people had been offering over the ask over the phone sight unseen just to get in a look.
We paid (I think) $130K for a termite mound that had been bought for $79K three months earlier. We didn’t know it but the crazy had faded just before we started looking.
Made 8% annually after that for the ten years we had it, and raised some awesome kids there.

Firstly, Aker is nowhere being a credible source on being anything but a mouthy, “look at me” dickhead.
Secondly, some facts.

The risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer over a lifetime is 1 in 7 for women and 1 in 555 for men.It is estimated that breast cancer will account for approximately 28 per cent of all new cancers in Australian women.

The age of 43 is not right at the peak of the age bell curve for breast cancer, but it isn’t out past 3 standard deviations either.

Not one news item in my search referred to her as a “former” executive.
It appears she stepped into the European Parliament’s special committee on COVID-19 because Pfizer Chief Executive Albert Bourla pulled out of an appointment to testify.

On the surface of it, you can assume she is gruntled, currently employed by Pfizer, and has let the cat out of the bag on behalf of the boss: the company did not test if its COVID-19 vaccine stopped transmission of the virus before the vaccine was put on the market.

The Stupid War On Russian Literature

BY: DAVID HARSANYI

Read Dostoevsky.

“Yes,” says the latest edition of The Economist, “the Russian literary canon is tainted by imperialism.” Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has called into question “not just the value of reading” Russian classics, says the magazine, “but also the morality.” As it happens, I’m a big fan of Russian literature and classical music. For me, the novels of Dostoevsky are still imminently readable — which is more than I can say for The Economist.

In The Times Literary Supplement, Oksana Zabuzhko, a Ukrainian writer, “argued powerfully,” The Economist points out, that Western readers of major Russian authors have ignored their “imperialist attitudes and indulged their drastic moral relativism and sympathy for criminals.” These books, the author claims, are “the camouflage net” for Russian tanks in Ukraine.

This is insanity. Soon after Putin’s invasion, symphonies and opera houses began shutting down Russian artists and performances. Carnegie Hall removed Russian conductor Valery Gergiev, and Metropolitan Opera dropped opera singer Anna Netrebko. The Polish National Opera canceled performances of Mussorgsky’s “Boris Godunov,” and the Cardiff Philharmonic dropped Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” over its bellicosity. The Russification of Ukraine was most intense under Soviet rule, so why allow anyone to play Prokofiev or Shostakovich? Next thing you know Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Scheherazade” will be banned for normalizing cultural appropriation.

The attack on Russian writers is worse. I will admit to knowing little about the “imperialist bent” of the renowned poet and novelist Pushkin, who apparently wrote verse trumpeting Russia’s “might” in the 1830s. Though a critic of the tsars and champion of the downtrodden, a Ukrainian critic points out, the poem “To the Slanderers of Russia” is a broadside against the French-backed Polish uprising against the tsar in 1830. Pushkin was apparently still sore about Napoleon’s invasion of Russia in 1812. (Napoleon promised the Poles, and many other “colonized” ethnic minorities in Europe, self-determination. Colonizer or liberator?)

Leo Tolstoy, notes The Economist, is guilty, as well, for neglecting “the perspectives of the colonised peoples of eastern Europe.”

Let’s try for a bit of objectivity on Mrs Aker.
Take the first sentence of the story:-

. Akermanis’ wife Megan Legge, 43, underwent a double mastectomy last month.

Why a double mastectomy?
Did she have a very rare instance of simultaneous cancers in both breasts? Probably not. Breast cancer cannot organically spread from one breast to another.
What is more likely is that she was identified as having a genetic predisposition to breast cancer (BRCA gene), thus they removed not only the cancerous growth, but all breast material on both sides.
If she has a BRCA gene abnormality, other risk factors (alcohol, weight etc) become way less relevant. BRCA gene abnormality absolutely swamps all other risk factors. And BRCA cancers don’t strictly follow the age distribution of common or garden breast cancer.

Although most clinical trials of COVID-19 vaccines showed that vaccines prevented the disease, some trial results also offered clues that shots might prevent infection. Everyone — from President Trump down — supported the hypersonic conditional approval of Kung Flu vaccines, such was the hysteria whipped up by the media in 2020.

It was NEVER the right thing to do — and Big Pharma knew it. That’s why Big Pharma sought and was granted immunity from prosecution.

Dot
Dot
October 12, 2022 1:47 pm

Worst of all to me was the validated real world efficacies of the vaccines were not high enough to achieve herd immunity anyway – not unless we vaccinated over 100% of the population.

There was no merit to forcing people to take it. If masks worked, healthcare workers could simply use a mask.

Other vaccines they are compelled to take have better safety profiles, efficacy and here in Australia Novavax was absolutely slowed down.

There are deep political undercurrents to this, beyond stuffing mail in votes. There are issues of manufacturing acceptance of the use of aborted fetus materials in medical research.

Two weeks to flatten the curve turned into 2.5+ years of authoritarianism. The public’s trust in medicine, science and he security of our liberties is shot.

Because at the time this news was being drowned out by fear mongering from politicians and health officers in Australia. Ably supported by the MSM, any news that was contrary to the prevailing narrative of pro-vaxx information was shunted to the sidelines, only to be seen by those who read the fine print.
Its re-emerging now because Pfeizer’s admission has clear air and a slightly more sceptical press.

As for not telling the public that Covid vaccines didn’t stop transmission of the virus, surely you remember the massive advertising blitz about protecting friends and family? The public was led to believe the vaccines stopped transmission.
