Firstly, Aker is nowhere being a credible source on being anything but a mouthy, “look at me” dickhead.

There’s a more important factor at play here. Akermanis is a renowned golf cheat. The Sporting News:

Controversial footy legend Jason Akermanis says he is thinking about moving back to Brisbane after being banned from his third golf club.

The former Lion and Bulldog has recently been given the boot from his third club in the Albury area.
‘Aker’ says he has sent a letter of complaint to Golf Australia after being banned from courses in Thurgoona, Albury and Wodonga following allegations of cheating and confrontations with members.

Speaking on 3AW, the 2001 Brownlow Medal winner said he was likely giving up on his dream of being a professional golfer.

The reasons for the bans?

Thurgoona: Handing in an incorrect scorecard and allegedly hitting from an out-of-bounds position.
Albury: A fiery confrontation with a member who moved his cart.
Wodonga: Hitting extra shots on a charity day in which he claims he’d been permitted to do due to the group being one player short.

Filth.

Salvatore, Understaffed & Overworked Martyr to Govt Covid Stupidity

… I did my very best to ignore the whole thing, from beginning to end.

A tangled web: 42% of Americans ignored COVID precautions or lied about taking them

Good onya Indolent.
Glad to learn someone was able to ignore it all & mislead authorities about alleged compliance.
Cops were on my case, hard, the whole time. Right from the beginning.

It started with two cops waiting outside the door for me on the first morning, immediate dark mention of “heavy penalties”, threats & innuendo, dark warnings delivered as if I was somehow deliberately non-compliant & trying to pull the wool over their eyes.

This all within a few hours of when I’d overnight been bushwhacked by the Slomo government into;
Guillotine shutdown of my business, told it’d be for Six months.
Sacking without notice people who’d worked for me for 20 years. Without them having anywhere to go.

It went on for more than a year, up to three times daily entry by police into my premises, to conduct a headcount of persons in the building (three times per day, every day, for some weeks) accompanied by dark mention of the heavy financial penalties (in the tens of thousands of dollars) if they could “catch” me with just one person “too many”

Simultaneously that same police force stood around and watched as thirty thousand people jammed onto the bridges in Brisbane, crowded the CBD streets, & changed ‘something something lives matter’

Then, with the rubbish of thirty thousand people not yet picked up, that same police force dressed themselves in mufti, drove several hundred miles west, & conducted ambush entry of close to two dozen civvie-clothed police officers into one-man, one-kegger bush pubs, just so they could fine the pub ten thousand dollars for having too many people inside.

All power to those who were able to resist, able to non-comply, able to bullshit the authorities about compliance.

It certainly looks really bad but I wouldn’t rely on Sachs. He’s telling us now instead of 2020 or 2021. Here’s a counter, Oaktree, which is fund worth listening to reckons that the US will avoid any sort of deep recession and China will come back.

I think we’re in pretty bad shape and Europe is totally fucked.

One that Dot will enjoy. Steam pushed an update in the last few days. Someone had a brainfart so it now requires two-factor authentication to start a game. Every day.

I complained, got a response (!) saying I’m either deleting cookies or I have antivirus turned up too high or something. Well that wasn’t helpful, especially as I quite distrust companies like Steam, so of course I delete cookies and have the antivirus turned up. I’ve had hassles from the LinkedIn and Optus hacks, not serious but annoying, so why would I trust Steam? I wasn’t going to say that though.

So I hit the net, and sure enough in about five minutes found a simple workaround. It’s fun that companies like that get so anal about security to piss off their customers unnecessarily, yet leave it trivially easy to bypass.

Steam helpdesk peoples will not be happy campers right now, poor things. I suppose it’s a job.

The problem is that he may have stock options to take up and the lower the stock price the better for him. The market will eventually correct his bullshit anyway. Most US banks are into huge buybacks of their stock!

I thought one of the outcomes of vaccination programms was that the reproduction rate of the virus had significantly reduced.
Isn’t that why Denmark eased covid restrictions?
Our results demonstrate that vaccinations reduce susceptibility to infection as well as infectiousness, which should be considered by policy makers when seeking to understand the public health impact of vaccination against transmission of SARS-CoV-2.

The Vaccines were only ever political vaccines. Politicians eager to believe any polished turd that was supposedly being paid to know what to do but didn’t. The narrative changed by the hour, country to country saying differing things coz none of them knew SFA. It took about 6 months for most to align. Had it been real, people would have falling down dead in the street, not like the actors we saw on Chinese video. Doing any sort of statistical analysis is almost impossible due the the way the data has been selectively distorted in the collection. As soon as someone says believe me, except as an offhand comment, my spidey senses awaken. The amount of material for arse covering hasn’t been made yet. Do they think they will get away with it, yes. Will they. Not as long as I can do something about it.

U.S. sensors unable to track Chinese, Russian hypersonic missiles: report

U.S. radars are unable to track Chinese and Russian high-speed missiles until late in their flight, even as new systems are being developed as part of the Pentagon’s accelerated hypersonic missile defense program, according to a congressional report.

The Congressional Research Service report said that the Pentagon’s Missile Defense Agency and Space Development Agency are working on parts of a hypersonic missile defense systems that could be used to stop the missiles, in part because current systems are inadequate for the job.

“U.S. defense officials have stated that both existing terrestrial- and space-based sensor architectures are insufficient to detect and track hypersonic weapons,” the Oct. 3 report states.

For geostationary satellite sensors, hypersonic targets are 10 to 20 times harder to detect than conventional ballistic missiles, which travel in more predictable trajectories, the report said.

Hypersonic missiles travel at speeds greater than 1 mile per second. Current U.S. space and ground radar systems are unable to detect the missiles until late in flight, making interception with anti-missile systems difficult.

Unlike ballistic missiles, hypersonic missiles — either gliders or powered — travel along the edge of the atmosphere and can maneuver in flight to avoid defenses.

“The maneuverability and low flight altitude of hypersonic weapons could challenge existing detection and defense systems,” the report said.

Treasury’s plans to banish alcoholic beverages in America

The left-wingers of our great country are steadily expanding the legalization of marijuana. This is a quarrel that I can save for a later date. But the do-gooders of the land are renewing their struggle against the demon rum, and unless the relaxed, easygoing Americano resists the do-gooders, they will find themselves fighting Prohibition all over again.

How ironic. America is about to legalize a substance whose sole purpose is inebriation, while the rest of us defend our God-given right to enjoy the moderate use of beer, wine and other alcoholic drinks. The intelligent imbiber does not open a can of beer or uncork a bottle of wine to sozzle himself or herself away in an alcoholic stupor. On the other hand, those who consume a marijuana-laced concoction only do it to get high and possibly drive off the road.

According to reports in the news last week, the Treasury Department, whose jurisdiction it is to oversee the labeling of alcoholic beverages, is considering requiring that makers of wine, beer and distilled spirits provide more information on what imbibers consume. Treasury will start with labels that list only the ingredients and calories of an alcoholic product. That is to say, the harmless stuff: ingredients and calories. It will end with Prohibition. It did so early in the last century, and the result was a huge boost for organized crime and alcoholism.

Well, my favorite source for the rebuttal of this particular prohibitionist canard is the Bible. It abounds with references to vinous juices, and many of the references are favorable. My favorite is the Blessed Virgin’s request of her Son to change water to wine. What kind of label do you think the Department of the Treasury would put on Jesus’ wine?

So, here is the CMO of Moderna speaking top the BJM in October 2020:

“Our trial will not demonstrate prevention of transmission because in order to do that you have to swab people twice a week for very long periods, and that becomes operationally untenable.”

“Every trial design, especially phase III, is always a balancing act between different needs. If you wanted to have an answer on an endpoint that happens at a frequency of one 10th or one fifth the frequency of the primary endpoint, you would need a trial that is either 5 or 10 times larger or you’d need a trial that is 5 or 10 times longer to collect those events. Neither of these, I think, are acceptable in the current public need for knowing expeditiously that a vaccine works.”

Pfizer took the same approach, working “at the speed of science” [sic!] as Ms. Small testified to the EU committee.

Why is the question re Pfizer vaccine popping up again?

The answer cuts to the heart of the issue surrounding the vaccine passport and various rules and regulations that were implemented against unvaccinated people.

No vaccine meant no restaurants, movies, international travel, job and many other fundamental inalienable human rights.
The basis for participation in society based on one’s vaccine status, was wrong morally, ethically, and medically.
Mandating a novel treatment without evidence is a crime.
The absolute risk reduction from the Pfizer Biontech vaccine was 0.84% in the original submitted data.
1 infection prevented for every 117 people “vaccinated” was going to save the world.
That is one infection prevented, not one death.

Worst of all to me was the validated real world efficacies of the vaccines were not high enough to achieve herd immunity anyway – not unless we vaccinated over 100% of the population.

And that was the Cat Conclusion in late 2020, based on the Az trial data.

CAN WE HAVE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE COVID SHUTDOWNS?

From early in the covid epidemic, it seemed obvious that the shutdowns ordered by nearly all governors and many municipalities did little good and caused tremendous damage. Experience has borne out that conclusion, but almost everywhere, governments have moved on without any accounting for the mistakes that were made.

American Experiment has just released two papers that address the consequences of covid shutdowns. While their specific focus is on Minnesota, their analyses are readily applicable to other states.

Economists John Phelan and Martha Njolomole performed a multi-factor regression analysis to isolate the effect of state and local shutdowns on economic growth. They used the stringency index developed by scholars at Oxford University to rate the stringency of shutdowns state by state and week by week. They accounted for other factors, including the number of covid cases, the extent that a state’s economy relies on the hard-hit hospitality and entertainment industries, and state tax policy.

Their conclusion is that Minnesota’s covid shutdowns cost the state $10.6 billion in GDP growth by the first quarter of 2021, or around $7,500 for a typical family of four. Their paper includes stringency and economic data on all 50 states, so the analysis can easily by applied anywhere in the U.S.42 Page PDF

Policy Fellow Catrin Wigfall analyzed the effect of school shutdowns on the academic performance of public school students in Minnesota. She found that Minnesota students, on average, missed the 14th largest number of days due to school shutdowns among the states. The consequences were devastating.

Academic performance of Minnesota’s public school students dropped off a cliff as a result of covid shutdowns. This chart tells the story:

No good at reversing a caravan or trailer? Here’s how to smash it

I like this solution at the end

Invest in a motorised jockey wheel

A motorised jockey wheel is like your normal jockey wheel but 100 times better. Basically, it makes reversing a trailer or caravan easy by allowing you to do it by hand with no effort. It’s not only amazing for those who are not confident at reversing but they are also super handy when you get home and need to store it in a tight corner of the yard or shed. Anyone with mobility issues or who has a van that is just too heavy to be ‘shoved’ that extra metre into place will find a motorised jockey wheel useful.

MYTCA Motorised Jockey Wheel

The MYCTA Motorised Jockey Wheel is powered by a 550W motor and is capable of moving loads of up to 2722 kg. Constructed from powder-coated aluminium, the unit features forward and reverse motion as well as an automatic braking function.

Product Specifications
Maximum incline: 5-degrees
Maximum vehicle load: 2722kg
Speed: 6-7 metres per minute
Motor: 12V – 550W
Weight: 17kg

Cost: $555 (on special at $445)

Durham probe: FBI offered Christopher Steele $1 million to corroborate Trump allegations in dossier

Steele couldn’t corroborate allegations in dossier paid for by Hillary Clinton campaign and DNC through law firm

The FBI offered ex-British intelligence agent Christopher Steele $1 million to corroborate salacious allegations made in his dossier against former President Donald Trump and members of his 2016 campaign, but he was unable to do so, an FBI official testified Tuesday.

FBI supervisory counterintelligence analyst Brian Auten was the first witness in the trial of Igor Danchenko, the Russian national who served as the primary sub-source for Steele’s anti-Trump dossier and has been charged with five counts of making false statements to the bureau.

Auten testified that he and a group of FBI agents went overseas in early October 2021 to speak with Steele about the dossier. During questioning by Special Counsel John Durham on Tuesday, Auten said that during those meetings the FBI offered Steele $1 million if he could corroborate allegations in the dossier. Auten testified that Steele could not do so.

Auten also said that the FBI had no corroboration of allegations in the dossier but nevertheless took that information and inserted it into the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to surveil former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

“On October 21, 2016 [the date of the Carter Page FISA application], did you have any information to corroborate that information?” Durham asked.

“No,” Auten said, confirming that the FBI began receiving Steele’s reports, later known as the dossier, on Sept. 19, 2016, and submitted its first FISA application on Page on Oct. 21, 2016.

French Fuel Shortage Leads to Yellow Vest Resurgence

From Armstrong Economics –

“The French, especially in Paris, are starting to feel the effects of the gas shortage. There are reports of cars queued for miles outside gas stations. Some have reported waiting for over an hour, only to find that there was no petrol left to fuel their vehicle.

Workers at TotalEnergies and Esso-ExxonMobil in France are on strike at the moment as well. This has led to three out of six refineries shutting down as production has been cut by 60% to 740,000 bpd. Over a third of TotalEnergies’ 3,500 stations are low on petrol. Workers are seeking a 10% salary increase as they feel the oil companies are reaping in profits amid this crisis.

President Emmanuel Macron has urged the people to avoid panicking. Some believe that this situation is only a glimpse of what will come in the winter when reserves plummet and demand soars. There is currently enough fuel for about 90 days.

The climate zealots of the Yellow Vest movement are prominent in France. The group protested for 60 consecutive weeks in 2018 and is extremely anti-Macron. They even stormed the Arc de Triomphe in central Paris. With Macron reelected and fuel woes rising, expect this movement to gain some momentum – with more support than the last go-around.”

The ones with the memories of goldfish are the ones currently running around with their hair on fire about testing not having occurred in relation to transmission.
We knew and discussed that and a couple of us remembered.
We knew the political message about prevention was incorrect, but also that there was evidence that vaccination reduced both transmitability and viral load, as the Danish study I linked suggests.

The chickens eat the bugs.
The chickens will lay eggs. Eat the eggs.
When they stop laying eggs, then you eat the chicken.
BONUS: chook poop makes good garden fertiliser!

Insect-based food, tastes great.

I also like plant-based food. Cattle and sheep eat grass (which humans cannot digest), transform it i to meat, we eat the meat, delicious.

It’s good, I didn’t realise that there were people in the EU Parliament who were worried about the vaxxes etc. It’s 25 min long but the best is the first 12 minutes. Well worth a look.

Six members of the European Parliament held a press conference on October 11, 2022, one day after Albert Bourla, Pfizer CEO, refused to participate in the Covid committeee and answer questions.

Seeing as non sequiturs are the go with you, I’ll put it more bluntly.

Given this was a not so secret secret it follows that all the politicians, media talking head scum and public health officials who pushed the line “stops transmission of the virus” were lying through their teeth.

America Quietly Prepares for Nuclear War

I mentioned in a prior post that the US was purchasing anti-radiation medication. The media is urging the public not to fear as this is simply a precaution. Yet, the US would not have shelled out $290 million on a drug if the intelligence agencies did not fear the potential of a nuclear attack.

The US Department of Health and Human Services downplayed the severity and said that this is part of its “long-standing, ongoing efforts by the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response to better prepare the U.S. for the potential health impacts of a wide range of threats to national security.” Of course, Joe Biden fanned the flames of panic by stating there was a risk for a “nuclear Armageddon” not seen in 60 years.

The government is purchasing a drug called Nplate that was approved by the FDA in 2021 to treat radiation syndrome. “Nplate is indicated to increase survival in adults and in pediatric patients (including term neonates) acutely exposed to myelosuppressive doses of radiation,” the company notes. Although not a worthy source, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that Acute Radiation Syndrome (ARS) occurs in four stages.

The four stages of ARS are:

It is peculiar that the drug was approved for radiation a year prior to the war breaking out in Ukraine. The drug has never been tested on humans, and the results are not guaranteed. They certainly were not testing monkeys with a radiation dosage even close to that of a nuclear weapon. Of course, this was another NIAID-funded research project. They were testing mRNA drugs and COVID vaccines before the pandemic began too.

How could they top the fear-mongering of COVID-19? Nuclear war. Stay inside because of radiation and take your shots to survive. The nuclear Armageddon could occur at any moment! After 2020, anything is possible.

Tomorrow is the fiftieth anniversary of when a plane flying from Uruguay to Chile crashed in the Andes. The Oz has a piece on the crash and the survivors, fifty years later. The plane was carrying a rugby team from Uruguay, their coaches and family members.

“Of the plane’s 45 occupants, 16 made it home from the 72-day ordeal that became known as the “Miracle of the Andes”. The only way to survive was to eat the flesh of the dead. But for Harley, a retired engineer now aged 70, that was not the worst of the nightmare made famous by the 1993 film Alive.

After the initial shock of their plane crashing into the Andes mountains on Friday, October 13, 1972, Harley and 31 other survivors found themselves in the pitch dark in minus 30C at an altitude of about 3500m.

Many of them not yet 20 – the plane was flying an amateur Uruguayan rugby team and family members to a match in Chile – none were dressed for the cold.

Several were badly injured.

Those who could squeezed into what remained of the fuselage between dead bodies and the screams of the wounded.

“That night, I experienced hell,” Harley says.

“At my feet was a boy who was missing a part of his face and… choking on blood.

“I didn’t have the courage to reach out to him, to hold his hand, to comfort him. I was afraid. I was very afraid.” By morning, four more were dead, and so started a seemingly relentless torment that would eventually whittle the number of survivors down to 16.

I remember reading the book in the early 1980s. Whilst we now live in a shallow age, it’s inspiring to read stories of human courage, strength and survival.

Might be a couple of days of tricky electricity on the way for the east coast of Oz which is in the midst of wet weather and fairly heavy cloud cover. At 4pm EST today South Australia is importing nearly half of its needs from Victoria. Of the electricity SA is generating 76% is coming from gas, 8% from sun and 17% from wind. It is producing 795 mw and importing 710 mw. Perhaps the wind will pick up but seems unlikely until tomorrow. And the sun will disappear in an hour or so. Hope those SA batteries are charged and that there is some ready mixed liquid fossil fuel eg kerosene at hand as Victoria is running short of spare capacity and is having to import power from Tasssie and from Queensland via NSW which is also running short. Just as well we still have a coal fired capacity in QLD able to stabilize the system.

FBI Officials Who Warned Facebook of ‘Russian Disinfo’ Before Hunter Laptop Bombshell Are Democrat Donors

Two FBI officials who had knowledge of the Hunter Biden laptop in 2020 and who alerted Facebook to potential Russian disinformation are Democrat donors, court filings and campaign finance records show.

The unit chief for the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force, Laura Dehmlow, and the head of the FBI’s San Francisco cyber division, Elvis Chan, were likely engaged in suppressing Facebook’s distribution of the story on the platform, the Washington Free Beacon reported from court filings.

Dehmlow contributed $60 to the Democrat Neonatal Committee in 2020, while Chan gave $50 to Democrat Sens. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) and Raphael Warnock (D-GA) during their 2020 Senate races, campaign finance records show.

The donations raise questions as to whether the FBI officials were working in an official capacity with partisan intentions during the 2020 election cycle when Breitbart News’s Emma-Jo Morris first reported the authenticated, verified, and confirmed “Laptop from Hell” story in the New York Post.

The FBI was in possession of the laptop for over a year before the Post published the story.

Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg acknowledged in August that Facebook had reduced the distribution of the story on his platform. Zuckerberg admitted the FBI had told the company to be aware of potential Russian disinformation that would hurt President Joe Biden’s presidential campaign.

In 2017, FBI director Christopher Wray established the Foreign Influence Task Force “to identify and counteract malign foreign influence operations targeting the United States.” Dehmlow, a member of the task force, could have directly used her position to discredit the “Laptop from Hell” story while making a political contribution to the Democrat Party, which supported Biden’s candidacy.

The “Laptop from Hell” story has since raised questions as to Joe Biden’s involvement with the family business detailed on Hunter’s laptop. Though Hunter is reportedly under criminal investigation for tax and gun related misdeeds, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, believes any investigation into the potential evidence on the laptop has been shut down by the FBI.

Re Pfizer following protocols “ in an abbreviated” manner- you aren’t serious, surely?

“Abbreviated”????? RCTs for new drugs, vaccines etc take, on average, 5-10 years of testing – most often at the higher end. The Covid vaccine RCTs ( if you could call them that) took around 6-8 months. Sure, immunologists had been working on mRNA vaccines for corona viruses for some 25 years. But they had never arrived at a safe and effective formula/methodology on the test animals. It was when I discovered this in early 2021 I determined not to accept any of the Covid vaccines.

As I have mentioned here before – my husband and I became friends with Dr Philip Altman around mid 2021 & he confirmed my worst fears about the vaccines. He was 40 years in pharmaceutical pathology (Hons in Pharmacology, Masters & PhD) – for many years conducting g RCTs on new drugs for the TGA.

He is currently campaigning with the new Medical Professionals Society to have the Covid vaccines’ approval withdrawn.

How odd:

An Alabama inmate set to be killed by the state said prison staff poked him with needles for more than an hour as they attempted to locate a vein during their initial attempt to end his life via lethal injection.

Alan Eugene Miller, 57, said that in September, staff struggled to locate a vein in which to inject the lethal drug combination meant to end his life and left him hanging vertically on a gurney before officials made the decision to abort the execution attempt.

Miller’s legal team detailed the September 22 botched execution in a court filing. They are now trying to stop the state from attempting a second lethal injection.

The attorneys wrote that their client is now ‘the only living execution survivor’ in the country, and was subjected to ‘the unnecessary and wanton infliction of pain that the Eighth Amendment was intended to prohibit.’

I mentioned in a prior post that the US was purchasing anti-radiation medication. The media is urging the public not to fear as this is simply a precaution. Yet, the US would not have shelled out $290 million on a drug if the intelligence agencies did not fear the potential of a nuclear attack.

Russia has been parading its nuclear missile launcher trucks in front of the US embassy in Moscow, perhaps that’s why someone felt a need for precautionary measures.

I actually don’t have a problem with that as a fallback charge.
If there was no specific statement of consent or otherwise and it can be proven that the complainant was incapable of giving consent (ie dead drunk and barely coherent) that should be a criminal act.

Luxury auto-maker Mercedes Benz AG has seen battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales increase by 115% to 30,000 units in Q3, more than double the amount in 2021 despite the global economy’s challenging business environment.

And:

Global #4 carmaker Stellantis has signed a non-binding MOU with GME Resources (ASX:GME) for battery grade nickel and cobalt sulphate. Stellantis has ambitious EV targets and expects, by 2030, that 100% of its passenger car sales in Europe will be EVs, while in the US, EVs will account for 50% of sales.

(Stellantis was formed by a merger between French automaker PSA Group and Italian-American automaker Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Brands include Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati and Ram from FCA, and Citroen, DS, Opel, Peugeot and Vauxhall from PSA Group).

As part of the initial investment, GM will subscribe for $31m worth of shares in QPM at 18c per share — a premium of 20% to the last closing price.

GM can purchase all uncommitted nickel and cobalt sulphate produced in the first 15 years of Phase 1 of QPM’s flagship TECH Project being 6,000tpa nickel and 800tpa cobalt. GM then has the option to purchase 100% of nickel and cobalt sulphate under the Phase 2 expansion.

Spot of spacechooking here, for Cats with an interest in military history. “Number One Realist: Bernard B Fall and Vietnamese Revolutionary Warfare.” by Nathaniel Moir makes damnfine reading.

Fall, as most military type Cats will know , wrote the classics “Street Without Joy” and “Hell In A Very Small Place.” He had served with the French Marquis at 16, visited French Indochina, in 1953, where he claimed that the Viet Minh used the same tactics as the Marquis, and went on to claim that the United States, in Vietnam, did not learn the lessons from the French War and was chasing an unattainable military victory. Interesting reading.
