between the top timbers and the beams there is a sheet of bitumenised fabric as a water barrier, deck spikes are driven through.
On the top Timbers you should look at cutting a shallow drip groove about an inch either side of where the top Timbers cross the main beam. This will also help reduce the amount of water that wants to wick along the underside of the top timber and into the lap.

If they had to be convinced…now that’s possible but terribly convenient just before they were going to vote not guilty with the other 11, that this scrap of paper is found.
It is not unreasonable to consider the possibility that this was planted by one or more persons working in the court, be they of low or high station.

The real reason why Australia is struggling to find workers as foreigners explain the big issue with why they NEVER want to come back
. Global Work and Travel CEO Jurgen Himmelmann said foreign workers were scared of returning to . Australia after Covid border closures
. Australia’s borders stayed closed for longer than other migrant worker spots
. Grattan Institute data revealed there were 86 per cent less working holidaymakers in Australia in May 2022 than in September 2019
Australia was one of the first nations in the world to slam shut during the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
But as other countries learned to live with the virus and turned their focus to economic recovery, Australia remained closed, with international and interstate travel restrictions limiting foreign worker movement.
Australia’s horror lockdown and border closures are now a distant memory but foreigners have not forgotten, with an 86 per cent drop in working tourists.
Global Work and Travel chief executive officer Jurgen Himmelmann said when borders were finally open to foreigners earlier this year, too much damage had already been done.
Mr Himmelmann said lockdowns left overseas workers worried they could became trapped Down Under if another virus was to suddenly hit.
‘Since the borders have opened, we are seeing the same volume of people wanting to leave Australia (as before Covid) but not the same number of people wanting to come to Australia,’ he told News Corp.
‘We were expecting there to be some pent-up demand – that people would want to rush to Australia once everything opened up but people saw Australians being jailed for (breaking Covid quarantine laws). They saw people trapped.’
To make matters worse, migrants who did wait through the lockdowns to move to Australia are now facing massive delays with getting visas.
The median processing time for a skilled worker looking to permanently immigrate to Australia is five months.
A skilled worker wanting to temporarily move to Australia can expect their visa to take three months to process.

Right wing parties have this problem in that the moderates within their membership are too often elitist.
Hence Rishi Sunak and Malcolm Turnbull.
The problem is the thing moderate right wing elites comprise on tends to be climate change, which doesn’t actually win right wing parties any votes.
Grass roots right wing moderates tend to compromise on such things as welfare policies which could get the parties more votes, but such people get left unpreselected and unheard within right wing parties.

The problem with conservatism is conservationism itself as it has no ideological moorings other than slowing down the progressivism of the left. That’s all it believes in and you see it in conservative parties all around the world, except the US to some degree as the Republican party is soaked with Classic Liberals and quasi-libertarians.
Unfortunately, if the only ideological underpinning is to slow down the left, then conservatives shouldn’t really complain.
I can explain in a couple of short sentences what classic liberal or libertarians believe. Not so with conservatives.

It’s all been said, but a couple of points:
1. As a ‘victim’ at the end of proceedings you’re in court to hear the verdict. The statement by Brittany Commando was clearly pre-prepared – and it also sounded suspiciously like a statement you’d make after a verdict of Not Guilt was returned by the jury.
I reckon she read her concession speech, with a couple of lines rubbed out here and there. The Victim Commish and her other acolytes were there, as rehearsed for the defeat performance, and it just may not have occurred to them – as clearly Brih-nee’s no rocket scientician – that her excruciating performance was in clear breach of what McCullum just told her not do so.
She’s been doing her own thing and applauded for it for so long now, she didn’t appreciate she might get pulled up on it; and
2. Brittany the Chiko Roll Champion of 2022 – you are the accuser, not the accused, and as such Lehrmann’s defence is entitled to test your credibility.
And they succeeded.

However after the downturn I am not so accepting. Especially after Uni’s keep pumping out useless disciplines that have no practical need that could be training our own instead.
A New South Wales police officer, the almost legendary “Bumper” Farrell, in 1944, is alleged to have observed a Royal Naval officer, having a quiet slash in an alleyway, off Kings Cross. Said Royal Naval Officer copped a boot up the clacker, and a warning that “Next time I’ll lock you up.”

Telecasts going around the world showing Australian police patrolling the streets in armoured vehicles and disgorging heavily armed storm troopers to rounding up peaceful citizens, bashing and opening fire on them with rubber bullets from pump action shotguns, dragging them from their cars and invading their homes, didn’t do Tourism Australia or our Itinerant Worker numbers any favours either.

Interesting woman. I read Hugo Vickers’ biography of Alice. Great read. The two younger sisters of Princess Alice’s mother’s were the last Tsarina and the Grand Duchess Elizabeth, both murdered by the Bolsheviks. Alice inspiration to become a nun was the Grand Duchess Elizabeth’s legacy. Alice hid a Jewish family in Athens during the war, when Greece was occupied by the Nazis. She wasn’t scared of anyone.

I found the death of the teen in WA very disturbing but was revulsed at Thorpe pushing it. He didn’t look like the turds we see here in NQ constantly breaking into cars/residences. Far from it. I know that tit for tat always ends up in tears, Duarte in PI and Thaksin in Thailand are testament to that and where it ends up at. Not good but as a resident of NQ we have had similar incidents here and as a community are no innocent bystanders.
Real leaders would defuse the increasing polarisation and balkanisation I see happening living in a part of Australia that has real aborigines not pretend ones. I have some grave reservations where this will end up…
The bottom line, as evidenced by Brittaneeeee the Knickerless’ speech today, a speech written by someone else, is that the progressive left and their various wimmin have made it clear that they want to dispense with the presumption of innocence when it comes to white males.
I wish I’d heard of that trick six months ago. Involved (peripherally) with the rebuild of a heavy duty timber deck which needed many beams sistered due to rot and most of the decking replaced. With Fetterman in Pennsylvania already receiving 255000 false postal ballots and pre voting having gone on already for a week it won’t matter that in the debate with the GOP senate rival candidate he looked and sounded worse than biden. The republicans think they’re winning because of the obvious demorat fuck-ups and some great take downs but the demorats know the cheating is the key and it will be occurring on an industrial scale. If fetterman wins and Kari Lake loses in AZ the US is completely gone.
Please, no talk about lack of panties till Groogs goes to bed. It makes him too excited to sleep.
yet another example of Britnee no doing herself any favours by gasbagging far and wide prior to the trial.
Why don’t the AFP look at the search history of the juror who did the deed?
And their household.
If they’ve been searching for “how to scuttle a trial” it might be a good start.
Good comment JC. Very appropriate given the subtitle of this blog is “destroy the left”. How’s that working out?
Menzies, who was a classical Liberal, had men like Richard Casey, Bill Wentworth, Jim Killen, Paul Hasluck and John Gorton.
Classic trolling of the Liberal Party there.
Casey was a Flamer and suspected Jap spy in the 30s, Wentworth was a Flamer, Killen was a joke and Gorton wasn’t called Bungles for nothing.
Couldn’t you find any better examples?
Because a new trail is a new trial – its not a ‘part of the old and part of the new’ trial
Cassie
I beg to differ. Menzies was exactly that – a conservative. He did nothing to change one of the most fundamental economic relationships this country has, which is the impediments to the labor market.
Conservatives only believe in slowing down the left and that’s it. This is why some conservatives here wonder why conservative parties have done nothing over the past 40 years and allowed the left to progress… literally progress. But to do so slowly.
This is one of the big reasons Hayek explained why he wasn’t a conservative. Conservatism is basically leftism in disguise. Conservatives can be for all sorts of economic controls that the left would agree with. Even with social policy – once something like gay marriage is introduced, conservatives walk away from dismantling it. Ironically it was a conservative party that allowed gay marriage in Australia. And climate change? Conservatives either agreed with the left or want to play halvies.
The only party that would oppose the left would be a party made up of classic liberals and a minority of libertarians.
and knowing the way this girl works, there’ll be a proverbial shed-load of new material to question her over by February next year.
because she lied about it to Wilkinson and was questioned on that by the defence in court.
How did the Defence find that out?
Mr Ed
Don’t ever change.
Conservatives only believe in slowing down the left and that’s it.
That’s Malice’s mantra.
I love you Ed.. never miss a trick.
Bear at 6:32.
Precisely.
If Britnah had told security immediately on the Saturday morning that she thought she had been ravished sans consent, the amount of guesswork required would have been reduced considerably.

Vigilante-ism, eh?
You wouldn’t be a Labor Party activist posing as a conservative, by any chance?
We leave that function to you, Richard Cranium.
Oh Okay. Good. I’ve been thinking about this for the past week or so and I think I’m right.
William Frank Buckley Jr., the founder of National Review described himself as a conservative. He said that one of the foundational principles of conservatism was to stand up, raise your hand and scream out stop. Good luck looking back 40 years and wondering what the hell happened.
Mr Ed
Is Keating a flamer?
The security guard offered medical assistance and/or an ambulance.
William Frank Buckley Jr
You’re two from two, JC.
Malice hates Buckley Jr more than most conservatives.
Essentially says he was controlled opposition.
The Liberal Party is not a conservative party.

For a long time I have held the view that one referendum proposal that would get up easily would be the elimination of the ACT. Keep the Triangle.
The Parliamentary Triangle, the Lodge, ANZAC Parade, the War Memorial, Russell, Campbell Park, Duntroon and ADFA. The rest becomes part of NSW, or a new state based on SE NSW from Nowra to the Victorian border and west as far as Cootamundra and Wagga. Just for the fun of watching the toy local pollies try to manage more than a mayoralty and town council. I prefer the “part of NSW” solution as it is more practical (and saves two senators).
Oh yes it is Roger. Just like every other conservative party is the West. Only belief is slowing down the left.
“Ironically it was a conservative party that allowed gay marriage in Australia. And climate change? Conservatives either agreed with the left or want to play halvies.”
The Liberal Party is not a conservative party.
JC, how would you define Thatcher? She was a conservative on social issues but she did introduce radical economic reforms.
I now regard myself as a conservative. Ten years ago I would have defined myself as a “libertarian”. No more. Fifteen years ago I thought globalism was hunky dory. No more. I believe we need a robust and radical conservative movement to radically oppose and resist the left. Maybe the left is unstoppable, and if that’s the case I suspect people like myself will need to separate ourselves from mainstream society. I don’t want to live in a society that cuts off the penises of ten year old boys, chops of the budding breasts of fourteen year adolescent girls, allows adult male perverts with dicks who put on a wig, smear a bit of lipstick on and put a frock to have the right invade women’s private spaces such as change rooms and toilets, and will soon start promoting minor attraction adults as “misunderstood”….and as for my last point, those who think I’m being hyperbolic simply refuse to understand the intent of queer ideology, one of its core tenets is the sexualisation of children and sexual access to children.
I found the death of the teen in WA very disturbing but was revulsed at Thorpe pushing it.
14 years old, he was a big lad for his age.
Reading between the lines, someone has dobbed him in for trashing some guy’s car.
The guy took someone else with him to identify the culprit and stuff happened.
Here’s the general background:
Up until a few years ago, males too young to be imprisoned would be sent to Institutions that employed poofters and sadists.
The usual stuff happened.
Because of that, the decision was made to go to a mediation type of outcome.
Say some underage kid trashed a building site over the weekend, did $25,000 worth of damage, rather than go to Court and get a Custodial sentence, the kid would meet face to face with the victim and hear what his actions had cost the guy, etc.
That’s as far as it goes, no Conviction is recorded, and if the victim declines to be part of it, that’s his problem.
So, let’s say you’ve got a Show Car, some kid with time on his hands does $40,000 damage to the car, you’ve got 2 choices:
Cop it up the arse, cohenite style, or go to Mediation and have the kid gloat at you.
Sancho’s virtue signaling about a broken wing mirror is about as likely as CornHolio’s swooning over Vigilantes.
Here’s Hayek in the Constitution of Liberty, why he’s not a conservative.
He’s damned fucking right about conservatives. They believe in nothing.
https://press.uchicago.edu/books/excerpt/2011/hayek_constitution.html
Epitome of a classic liberal. Through and through.
With reference to Cassie’s Nick Cater comments.
Nick Cater is the world’s worst used car salesman.
He thinks after selling you a decade worth of shit boxes that you’ll keep coming back for more.
Nick, there are other car yards.
Might not be great but at least they haven’t laughed in my face about selling me the previous lemon.
No.
I’d explain what conservatism is, but I’m having a late dinner tonight, after which I’ll retire with a brandy & a good book.
Deo volente, I’ll make some recommendations that will assist with understanding conservatism tomorrow.
Cop it up the arse, cohenite style
I suppose next you’ll be denying you were there.
Mr Ed
Is Keating a flamer?
Who cares?
William F Buckley Jr was definitely a closeted Flamer.
Here’s a 1:42 clip of Buckley debating uncloseted Flamer Gore Vidal on YouTube.
I bet you’ve changed some of your beliefs at the edges even with what’s happened or happening around the world.
I bet you wouldn’t have much of an issue in having free movement of people along with goods and services between the western countries. This would have changed with the advent of Xi.
That’s exactly my point about conservatives. Radically opposing and resisting isn’t enough without offering an alternative vision, which if not libertarianism would be classic liberalism.
No, the left is very very stoppable. It’s reached peak absurdity
I agree.
What happened to Hu & Xi? CCP worst top team shows up after 20th Congress/The reform come to an end
The first meeting after the 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party CCP ended on October 23rd, granting the CCP leader Xi Jinping a third term as the top leader, and the seven most powerful members of the CCP, the new generation of Politburo Standing Committee members were presented. We see that this is the team that’s the least competent in governing the country.
A signal had been dropped the day before. On Oct. 22nd, at the closing of the 20th Communist Party Congress, the world was surprised to see an unprecedented scene. Former Communist Party leader Hu Jintao was “persuaded” to leave the podium in advance.
How and why?
Indeed! Slogans are OK but the nerds need to work on details instead trying to impress other nerds.
I think that is true of mainstream conservatism in the Anglosphere since the 1970s, with the caveat that most people calling themselves conservatives are either the above, classical liberals/ quasi-libertarians. Still, I’m not sure the latter are in any better position in their ‘ideological moorings’. Is there a classical liberal position on transgenderism, for instance, that you can read off its general principles? OK to amend birth certificates? Must we use preferred personal pronouns in the workplace? What about publicly funded sex changes? What about the treatment of minors?
Unfair Bern. I have met Mr Cater and what I detect is he tries heroically to keep inside the cultural envelope. Which he does tactically. The problem is the cultural envelope has moved so far off into leftist fruitloopery that attempting to stay in it is now futile.
Ed
Don’t care. Seen enough turds across the top end of this country to work out that a fat pasty kid like this is likely collateral damage.
Willing to concede we don’t know full facts. The fact that a POS Thorpe who is flailing to keep her place at the trough further confuses the issue doesn’t help.
Wow that would have to be the most intemperate I have been for a while. Sorry this annoyed me immensely as soon as I saw it.
After the AFP is done with going through the jurors search history, then they can meta data them to see if the idea originated from elsewhere else.
Conservatism, libertarianism, doesn’t matter; the point is a few key issues: anti-wokism, anti-AGW, anti-BLM, etc. The focal point is an attitude to Trump; that’s the defining test.
Now to the real issue of the evening: does ed wear rubber or knitted crotchless panties. That’s another test.
Nick Cater reminds me a lot of Judith Curry.
Both try to sit on the fence and convince passersby.
Doesn’t work unfortunately. The pedestrians are cultists.
They have to be deprogrammed, not reasoned with.

Richard Cranium continues his work as a paid Labor Party shill.
You suspect the AFP will be even more careful to make sure they don’t find anything. In the event they are even asked.
Pretty clear the guy was a Not Guilty holdout trying to get academic backup for his theory that women make stuff up about being Rape victims.
So, there was never going to be a Verdict with this guy on the Jury anyway and Judge set a date for a new Trial.
Whoever advised Higgins to give that speech isn’t doing her any favours, but she hasn’t worked out yet that she’s surrounded by vipers.
rhetoric on the word ‘conservative’ to ultimately arrive nowhere, is not progressive either
it’s not even an argument so much as it is fallacious gibber.
Nahh, the guy was really like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stIvLRJcqCE
“Wentworth was a Flamer”
I knew Bill Wentworth. He was no flamer.
You betcha and it would be clearly visible on the economic side.
Probably just leave the fuckers alone. Certainly don’t promote it, but leave them alone.
Of course not. Really though, how many idiots want to change their certificate? I could imagine someone like our Mr Ed wanting to as he’s a shocking flamer. But it’s not a humongous number. Allow people to change their certificates but with and explanation saying it has been changed.
Being forced to? The classic liberal line would be that if the firm is a flamer and demands it then so be it, but also why would you want to work for such a firm? Would you work at Twitter in the present set up? I wouldn’t.
No and no.
“Unfair Bern. I have met Mr Cater and what I detect is he tries heroically to keep inside the cultural envelope. Which he does tactically. The problem is the cultural envelope has moved so far off into lefist fruitloopery that attempting to stay in it is now futile.”
Nope. I had a conversation with Nick Cater as recently as Monday night. Bern is right.
Trump ended up being a classic liberal mostly.
That’s not what Kate Wentworth said in Evidence.
Was she lying too?
I’m not a classical liberal because they gave women the vote, and look where that’s got us.
I’m not a conservative, because I quite like variety and diversity of viewpoints. And I don’t think our ancestors got everything right. In fact, they screwed up lots of things.
And I’m not a lefty because they’re barking mad, and I’m quite excessively sane. We all have our crosses to bear, and that’s mine.
I’m not a member of any existing gang. I don’t fit in anywhere. And I much prefer it that way.
Australia’s horror lockdown and border closures are now a distant memory but foreigners have not forgotten, with an 86 per cent drop in working tourists.
Neither have Australian’s. The stupid motherfuckers in charge of this shit show will one day pay for it dearly.
That’s not what Kate Wentworth said in Evidence.
Was she lying too?
She was wearing crotchless panties. That should tell you something ed; it’s still not too late.
Sooo, how about that Federal budget huh?
Apparently the main problem with the Budget is that it didn’t.
Deficit of 32 bill last year, and a planned deficit of 37 bill this year.
Heh, howabout that.
National debt planned to increase from 515B to 572B.
Venezstraya, etc.
> Since PEFO, total individuals and other withholding tax receipts have been revised up by
$16.2 billion in 2022–23
Revenue up but no mention if this was achieved by grassroots growth or a rates increase.
Back in July the luvvies at The Con had such high hopes for Chalmer’s first “wellbeing budget”. Frydenburg said wellbeing was “doublespeak for higher taxes and more debt”. Well he was at least half right.
The wellbeing is in the PBS price reductions, more paid parental leave, more dog boxes for Housos, and greasing the rails to permanent residency for skilled migrants.
The skills and training subsidies and the investment in rebuilding key manufacturing sectors domestically are likely to be the most decisive for increasing the national wellbeing longer term, and I can’t think of anything bad about that. We don’t make things any more. We should. We don’t repair things any more. We should.
Quite so.
You can be appalled by the murder and also find Thorpe’s impression of Al Sharpton revolting too.
Can’t anyone in this town take the law into their own hands?!?

During a walkabout at an Edinburgh electronics factory, Prince Philip remarked that a fusebox bursting with wires looked “as if it was put in by an Indian”. His remark prompted immediate condemnation.
Condemnation for being factual. Could have also been put together by one of my Chinese buddies. Individual workmanship is shit.
Instruments running, DCS waiting for signals. Field cabling and work inside junction boxes atrocious.
Fixing leaking solenoid valves on sampling connections today. Difficult job. Some prick had given them a dusting of thread tape and screwed them in finger tight.
Bloke I know is pondering whether there is a military history book in “the frontier wars”.
I have suggested the uniforms and weapons pages will be a bit one-sided.
Does anyone know if the jurors in the No-Panties case had access to personal computers, Ipads and phones?
If they did, then why is academic paper of such importance?
Razey:
I’ve just watched 9.5 minutes of the presentation. I still have no idea what the inquiry is about, nor the significance of the fact there are two of them.
That’s why I rarely bother watching this pair any more. Waffle waffle waffle.
FFS why not spend ten seconds telling us what the inquiry is about?
They could easily have accessed such things after they were sent home each day.

Excellent analysis. As you say, this will not end well.
I am amazed there hasn’t been a spate of vigilante cripplings or killing of these people. From what I understand the Ville is even worse than D-town in this day and age, and that’s saying something.
Ed’s never walked on dirt, so (again) he’s clueless.
If Britnah had told security immediately on the Saturday morning that she thought she had been ravished sans consent, the amount of guesswork required would have been reduced considerably.
Here’s the thing.
If IF IF someone was raped, and then that person puts the ‘how will this affect my career?’ hat on first before even thinking about doing their level best to put the person responsible in the bin, then the rapee is always going to come off second best.
Even more so if the next hat is the ‘perhaps I can make a shit tin of money out of this’ one.
Goodness me.

Perhaps this girl is one of the ones that he was referring to?
There is some hope by those aggrieved by ASIC inaction.
Typically, what happens when a dodgy business stops paying its bills is that a liquidator will wind up the company, but will also produce a report outlining the various offences that the dodgy business operators committed in defrauding their customers/suppliers/etc.
This report will be forwarded to ASIC, who will typically do absolutely nothing in relation to it. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
ASIC prosecutors have a history of only pursuing cases which are politically sexy.
I doubt there will be any real change.

I’ve complained repeatedly about what are illegal ads on youtube by australia standards and nothing
Sure, but that is only because ‘conservatism’ is pragmatic on the economic side.
But what does ‘leave them alone’ mean? Is the public librarian permited to attend work in their preferred dress?
You’ve gone from ‘No’ to ‘Yes’ in the same paragraph.
What happens when most large firms require obedience on preferred pronouns? If we just have to ‘suck it up’ and find new employment we’ve moved quite along way from ‘leave them alone’ towards ‘promote it’.

where’s all the double ententres and spoonerisms?

JC, quote Hayek again
the problem here is that the left weaponise these people and in fact will weaponise every mental illness and perversion against conservatives. the dialectic idea that thesis and antithesis leads to a higher truth is garbage. What the left have done is just straight divide and conquer.
This is where my libertarian leanings have been given a rude awakening. many corporates dont give a shit about customers by virtue of being near monopolies. many corporates are subject to government interference and pressure to tow ideological lines and to do so publicly.
This entire “vaccine” episode shows that when fuck-you class money is within reach certain corporates are just outright evil and a danger to society. The belief that our civilisation is less corrupt than the 3rd world has been another rude awakening.
The conservative view of being neutral with corporates when the left just openly bribe and/or force them to tow the ideological line is a dismal failure.
Another failure of conservatives is the roll back of the administrative state, which has its nose literally into every aspect of our lives using our money and act like lord and master not public servants.
The job of conservatives is to undo the crap the left inflict on us and drive things to the right, something they have failed miserably at. They get power and they are too scared to roll back the madness let alone move things to the right. Society just slowly ratchets towards the left with each wave of “progressives” to the point we are at now: a new dark age is upon us.
