Iirc the public service advice to Fraser was not to proceed with the “Lebanon Concession”, which was originally intended for Maronite Christians, few of whom availed themselves of the opportunity. But Fraser & his Cabinet thought they knew better, and so we ended up with Lebanese Muslim hillbillies instead.
Who’d have thought women could be capable of such devious behavior?
Cough.
Academic on Twitter made the perceptive point that most undergrads are simply unable to write essays because they are simply unable to argue coherently. And this is a consequence of how they’ve been taught to write essays by simply compiling other people’s arguments with not enough emphasis being placed on relevance, coherence, perceptiveness, and the like. There is a lot to be gained by teaching again in the Quaestio format.
Iirc the public service advice to Fraser was not to proceed with the “Lebanon Concession”, which was originally intended for Maronite Christians, few of whom availed themselves of the opportunity.
Selection was done by the UNHCR, and since there weren’t any Christians in the Refugee Camps they were running, we were sent who we were sent.
By the way, Roger, Catholic Maronites are far from being the only Christians in Lebanon.

I would imagine some alternative educators are on to that.

You do pick up some costs in a successful defended criminal matter. My one and only case we got $800 but gave it to an ex girlfriend after pleading guilty to throwing a beer bottle at her. Easy come easy go.
”My few brushes with the law have not really increased my knowledge of the subject, but does the young bloke have any chance of clearing his name and restitution of the costs?”
If it was proved she was lying , or the prosecution was with holding evidence, or the claim was vexatious then from my limited education he could sue the DPP in the State or Territory for costs .
They’re saying that an Arctic blast is on the way, complete with scary warnings. There may well be such a blast on the way, but their PR people would make the British redtops blush.
Like others here, I have been the recipient of dire warnings that never eventuated in the last few weeks. For example, there was a warning of ‘severe’ winds and 100 mm for the other night. It was pretty calm, and we had a light sprinkle.
To say that the BoM has lost its way is an understatement. When even a Labor government hauls you over the coals (see the grilling of the CEO in the Senate a couple of days ago) there is no doubt that something is very wrong.

Musk is extremely unwise.
It’s one thing for users who have been on the end of the banning apocalypse to express glee over Twitter firings, it is completely another for the new owner to get caught up in it, with “Ligma Johnson”. Stupid.
Why unwise? Two words: Postal workers.
Remember the 80s when every few weeks some postal worker would go nuts and show up at work and attempt to hunt down their perceived tormentor? And usually their prey would be out for the day and a whole bunch of innocent coworkers would get brassed up instead.
There is good reason why companies outsource firings and use a bunch of bland jargon around such events. Postal. Workers.
As deserving as the little darlings at Twitter might be of ridicule, it isn’t the boss’s place to do anything other than feign sympathy for the individuals about to be loaded into the big redundancy canon and shot out the door.

Next a shower and get ready for a grandson’s Confirmation later this afternoon.

A nun and a priest were crossing the Sahara Desert on a camel. On the third day out, the camel suddenly dropped dead without warning.
After dusting themselves off, the Nun and the Priest surveyed their situation. After a long period of silence, the Priest spoke “Well, Sister, this looks pretty grim”.
“I know, Father. In fact, I don’t think it likely that we can survive more than a day or two…”
“I agree,” says the Father. “Sister, since we are unlikely to make it out of here alive, would you do something for me?” “Anything, Father.”
“I have never seen a woman’s breasts and I was wondering if I might see yours.” “Well, under the circumstances I don’t see that it would do any harm.”
The Nun opened her habit and the Priest enjoyed the sight of her shapely breasts, commenting frequently on their beauty.
“Father, could I ask something of you?” “Yes, Sister?” “I have never seen a man’s penis. Could I see yours?” “I suppose that would be okay,” the Priest replied, lifted his robe, and almost immediately he was sporting a huge erection.
“Sister, you know that if I insert this in the right place, it can give life.”
“Is that true Father?”
“Yes, it is, Sister.”
“Oh Father, that’s wonderful… stick it in the camel and let’s get the fuck out of here!”

I have a Galaxy Note N8000 which got a whole lot of Google crap on it and I found that unknown to me, it was sharing all kinds of my photos, documents etc with other devices.
Trying to remove all the Google crap and it resisted to the point of locking up the device and refusing to let me use it.
I did a hard reset and it has refused to allow any of my passwords to unlock the device.
Then went for another type of reset press the off button for 2 minutes.
No go.
A pity – it still has quite a good battery and screen and I only use it for Kindle – which seems to run into problems when the library goes above 8-900 books.
Are there any other OS I can use – which will have to be downloaded through a desktop because the damn N8000 refuses to allow me internet access unless I download all the Google crap which is why I tried to get rid of it before.

Just finished watching a History channel docco ‘Countdown to the end of the Berlin Wall’. It focused on the 12months leading up to its demise. The East German regime subjugation of the masses looked eerily familiar. Compliant press, spying on the populace, riot controls, restrictions of movement and many of the peoples believing there is nothing wrong. Then I realised I live in Melbourne in the Danocratic Peoples Republic.
Joe Hildebrand showing us all what a feckless dick he is.
Apparently the anti-vaxers were at fault for the lockdowns because they, ummm, magically I guess, forced Dan Andrews to keep Victoria shut.
Never mind that only around 20 per cent of the population opposed lockdowns and, of those, 99 per cent of them were anti-vax.
It appears that the moment you take a single vaccine you lose any ability to engage in logic.
Makka:
A very good point – culture defines (in this matter) outcomes.
Which is why it’s our culture which is under attack from all sides.
In the long run, a cold winter and a bankrupt economy can be overcome although with some effort and casualties. But as long as the underlying culture isn’t harmed beyond repair, it will come roaring back.
And now you know the reason for the out of control illegal invasion, and the reason it isn’t being stopped in any meaningful manner – the aim is to dilute, disrupt, and destroy Western culture.
And Hildebrand’s article doesn’t allow comments.
Instead he will just find one dumb comment somewhere in opposition to him and use that to prove he’s a genius.

A “few” used to be defined as three to eleven (one, two, a few, a dozen, a score, two score …).
A man and his wife are discussing what they think their son will be when he grows up.
“I have an idea!” says the father. He puts a ten-dollar bill, a bottle of whiskey and a bible on the coffee table…
“If he takes the money, he’ll be a banker. If he takes the whiskey, he’ll be a wino and if he takes the bible, that means he’ll be a preacher”.
So the man and his wife hide just before their son comes in the door, and watch from where they’re hiding.
The boy saunters over to the coffee table.
He picks up the ten-dollar bill, looks at it, then sets it down.
He picks up the bottle of whiskey, uncorks it, sniffs it, then sets it down.
He picks up the bible, leafs through it, and sets it down.
Then the boy takes the money and stuffs it into his pocket, grabs the whiskey and walks off with the bible under his arm.
“Well, how do you like that!” exclaims the father. “He’s going to be a politician!”

Good article on disfunction in Defence management at Quadrant On-Line. Having lived through some if the period discussed, I have some sympathy with the author.
Until I came to this bit (my emphasis):
In part, this is due to the reality that the ADF has been an expeditionary force engaged in far-off “wars of choice” for its entire history and thus separate from the concerns of a Department of Defence operating on home soil.
Until the April 2022 China-Solomon Islands security agreement there has been no regional crisis to concentrate civil-military minds on the nation’s direct defence as an existential Australian concern. </em

It’s funny, but can’t agree because ultimately these are contracts awarded on demonstrated merit, and the gap between SpaceX and the traditional space packhorses (Lockheed Martin, Rockwell Collins(now Boeing), ESA) is significant in mass-to-LEO costs. The origin of the money being taxation is a whole other kettle of fish which is not sufficient to make Elon a welfare queen.

You don’t just wear crotchless panties, you eat them too. I won’t go through the manifest evidence Dawson faced but it was considerably more than save brittany’s accused faced. And the main point was the media commentary which demonstrably undermined the trial process; Dawson did not have that. Hedley Thomas’s documentary, Teacher’s Pet, was removed well before the trial began; save brittany’s trial was connected with the media before it began and during it.

Keep re-defining your terms, eventually you will make that every few weeks look OK.
But if two were less than six weeks apart. doesn’t that make the averages between the rest (discarding the outliers) longer?
We have a bloke here most days without any pants.
There was a post office I used to go to that was near by on W 146th off Broadway in West Harlem. Let me tell you, plexiglass separated you from the employees. I imagine it was bulletproof. If you were there to pick up or drop off a parcel they had window that allowed you/ them to place/pick up the parcel without the other gaining access to the employee section. I haven’t seen this even in a bank here in Australia. If you just travelled say 40 or so blocks south, to the Upper West Side, no plexiglass to be seen. Funny old place, NYC. I miss it.

Same with fast food in Los Angeles Dover.
You realise you might be in the wrong suburb when the interior looks like a bank with little turntables to exchange payment and receive your order.
First time I went to the US I sent a lot of stuff home via the US postal service, most were fine considering the shipping method, sea mail was comparatively rare, one in LA, was a pain, and rather than engaging in fruitless argument I simply went to the one in the next suburb. After that I used a shipping broker.

Lefists can’t stand it when they’re made fun of. The left seized political power in America in 2020 so it made sure no-one was allowed to make fun of those in charge in the digital town square – social media sites like Twitter. All that has now changed. Tucker Carlson Tonight.
It’s starting to look like this incident involving Paul Pelosi, the Speaker’s husband, was a ‘lover’s quarrel’ that escalated. The attempt to pin this on ‘MAGA forces’ fell flat when the assailant exposed as a radical leftist living in a ‘hippie collective’. I suppose his being found in his underpants should have been a clue.

Later in the day, the FBI visited a Berkeley home linked to DePape, which neighbors call the “hippie collective,” NBC Bay Area’s Jaxon Van Derbeken reported.

– When you go for the gay on line you never know what’s in the box of chocolate.
– So not only is the perp gay, he is also a ‘friend’ who Paul Pelosi said he didn’t know but added that his name was ‘David’….
Paul Pelosi got some ‘splaining to doooo!’
– I have to hammer this home….Paul’s into 42 year old male prostitutes.

Panties.
We call them panties here.
Hard to think of more hateful garbage that the Pelosis. Fucking evil trash.
People SFO vote for that foul old witch.
Nearly November and 14.4oC in Perth with an apparent temp of 10.9 oC. Not beach weather.
Not to mention “19 nonpostal perpetrators killed 14 postal employees”
Which clearly had nothing to do with termination.
Some undoubtedly were revenge for termination of a relationship, some involved Drug dealing, some were Gang murders, the rest were robberies.
Nancy will seek solace and time out in her $35000 fridge full of ice cream.
I don’t think this is the ‘October Surprise’ that the Dems were hoping for.
A theory on the aftermath of the Big Night Out in Canbra.
Britnah was angry with Bruce.
Why?
Was it over an assault?
Maybe not.
It was his idea to go back to the office and it was his fault that she blew chunks of Roses chocolates all over the ministerial Chesterfield instead of in her own bog at home.
Now she was going to lose her job all because Bruce wanted to guzzle a bit of free scotch and coke.
Snot fair!
So, when shit gets real on the Wednesday and the Chief of Staff tells Bruce to clear his desk, she needs a story to save her brilliant career.
What’s the harm?
A little white lie which won’t go past the boss and HR.
Look, Brucey is gone anyway and, fuck it, the whole shit-show wouldn’t have happened but for Bruce needing a nightcap.
Of course, The Little Lie That Grew then sprouted legs and developed a life of it’s own.
Very telling that she said she didn’t think this would get to court.

IN RE: THE PELOSI STORY
Decent people will want to avoid politicizing the story of Paul Pelosi’s assault by a clearly deranged person who likely should have been institutionalized or in jail, although it is worth pointing out that Nancy Pelosi’s daughter Tweeted out after Rand Paul was assaulted that “Rand Paul’s neighbor was right.”
But a Canadian newspaper story (Pelosi’s assailant is an immigrant from Canada) just had to include this:
The intruder’s shouts in Pelosi’s California home were an unsettling echo of the chants during the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. capitol, when rioters trying to stop Joe Biden’s election searched menacingly through the halls for the Speaker.
Yeah, sure, this apparent nudist protester from the Castro district of San Francisco is somehow a right-wing Proud Boy “insurrectionist.” I guess they can’t figure out how to play the race card with this story, though you’d think it wouldn’t be that hard to throw down “white supremacy.”
From The Comments
– Paul Pelosi and DePape just had a homosexual lovers quarrel at 2am because Paul P didnt want to pay DePape for Mr Pan (cant type the first name of Neverland’s most famous boy in tights) and was feeling robbed. DePape was in his underwear and Paul P was in his Harvey Weinsrtein robe with matching pumps. Nancy’boy Paul has a hankerin’ for boy when Nancy is away. DePape didnt sneak into Paul P’s place, he was invited in. We’ll find out that the security cameras were all offline or Paul “forgot to turn them on” (that happens all the time when Nancy is gone). It’s San Franfeces, anything goes.
– Some common sense hammer control laws would’ve made all the difference.
– Let’s see if the actual events are reported. At this point, a guy, who Pelosi first said he did not know, then said his name is David and is a friend. David is in his underwear in Pelosi’s house at 2 AM. Yet again, late at night when Nan’s away and Paul is again getting hammered. Time for Nan to put a lid on this one.
– We need to see the surveillance footage. In that neighborhood, there’s got to be plenty around, even if Pelosi claims she does not have any cameras. How did the guy get to that part of town at that time of night? Did he walk? Did he take a taxi or an Uber? Too many questions
– More details are emerging but the picture isn’t, um, let’s just say Paul should stick to driving the wine country in his Porsche, he gets in less trouble that way.
– Steve says decent people will not want to politicize the unfortunate attack on Paul Pelosi. Sadly, Democrats are not decent people.
Perfect! 😀
I think the big witness in R v Lehrmann 2.0 could be the Chief of Staff (the first person to hear the allegation of assault).
Although called as a prosecution witness she didn’t seem overjoyed at her treatment by Britnah or the DPP.
What if she says something like this?
So, when shit gets real on the Wednesday and the Chief of Staff tells Bruce to clear his desk, she needs a story to save her brilliant career.
No, the truth was good enough, it usually is.
What’s the harm?
A little white lie which won’t go past the boss and HR.
Nup.
Reynolds, Brown and others implied that if Higgins went to the cops, her career with the Liberal Party would be over.
They were in no doubt that her story was true.

Maybe it’s trouser time.
“Well, I am bound to follow through on an allegation of this nature – and I did – but my personal feeling was that the allegation was self-serving and disingenous.”
Except that wasn’t true, she bought Higgins story, but she was focused on the CoverUp, 2 weeks before Morrison called an Election.
But, hey, the Defence coulda ran that line of questioning in their crossexamination.
But they didn’t.
Ever wonder why?

The most common comment from passers by on my morning walk in Perth is along the lines of ” When are we going to get some global warming? fuck it’s cold.”
I see snow forecast for the south east next week, surely we will see evidence that Gerbil Warming causes more snow and cold weather soon.
FMD sheeple are stupid, I am constantly amazed that sheeple are way stupider than I thought they were.
Sky News has taken the Democrat version hook, line and sinker.
They had Chris Wray saying that there are proper ways to express your anger at the way things look, violence isn’t the right way.
They even coughed up lumps of alleged “online posts” from the arrested one that supported Mike Lindell and questioned the 2020 election.

Bizarre: Police Dispatch Audio Concerning Attacker at Pelosi’s Home
“RP stated there’s a male in the home and that he’s going to wait for his wife,” the audio says. “RP stated that he doesn’t know who the male is but he advised that his name is David and that he is a friend.”
Now here’s that audio.
It also notes that “RP sounds confused.” When you click on this it takes you to a page of audio clips. If you hit autoplay at the bottom left of the page, you can hear the clip.

The Pelosis are mafia grifters- calling them dirt is an insult to dirt.
Can someone figure this out. Musk is also flogging perfume?
No need, he is selling fragrance. Well , I’ll be

The end of Europe’s energy crisis is in sight
What a negative gas price tells us about economics, capitalism and the future
What a Depressing Journalist – Cheering the Destruction of Industry in Germany
It was economists who came closest to understanding the likely effect of Putin’s energy aggression; people and industries tend to respond to price incentives so they predicted that consumption was likely to fall.
Economic circumstances will still be difficult across Europe this winter, but that is exactly what has happened. The gas-hungry process of producing ammonia for fertiliser — a low value added business — ceased until a couple of days ago, with the bulk chemical imported from the US.
Dirty coal and clean renewables have been used to substitute for gas in electricity generation. Analysis by Ember, a consultancy, has found that there was a record year-on-year increase in solar and wind electricity generation across the EU between March and September.
Most impressive of all has been the reduction in consumption of gas by both industrial and domestic consumers, not merely related to the mild weather. In recent weeks, Germany’s industrial use of gas has been around 20 to 25 per cent down on a year ago while its production in the sector was 2.1 per cent higher in August year on year. German household gas consumption is down similar amounts as families compete to see how far into autumn they can go without turning on the heating.
It is true that the prevailing view in the energy sector is that though there might now be enough gas this winter to avoid shortages and blackouts, the real worry is next winter because gas storage will not be replenished in the summer without Russian supply.
It is not often I am able to deliver good news, but these forecasts are also likely to be much too pessimistic.
But most important, higher prices will lower demand for gas, both by encouraging the development and use of other means of generating electricity and, directly, by crushing the amount consumed.
No one should feel delighted they are paying more for energy this winter, but the price signal has done its job. It has forced Europe to adapt. Advanced capitalist economies are remarkably successful in this regard.

Quite so.
In any case, the frequency of postal shootings 30-40 years ago is totally irrelevant to the key point being raised – a ‘non-secateur’ if you will.
That is, the ridiculous assertion was that Musk should engage an outplacement consultant to cut a swathe through the C-Suite, to avoid a potential postal attack.
Like people aren’t going to know that Musk made the decision.
And furthermore, the sort of pissweak behaviour being advocated (deflecting blame by buck-passing responsibility for hard decisions) is the sort of thing which is criticised here loudly and often.
And rightly so.
Mmmm. Press reports have Brittany out a Bumble date (who leaves) before meeting Lehrmann and some guy he had dinner with. You go grrrl.
It had better be good, Old Ozzie.
The Beloved is about to order some on your say so. 😀
Bear, can you put this in eastern seaboard English please.
So many stouches. So few fucks to be given.
JC, ask a young person.
Is this you, Bear?
And may I remind you, I do not approve of rude language.

That’s why I’m asking you Bear. 🙂

Hope P 2 better than P1 – which was just a free practice run for the new Pirelli tyres that will apparently be used next year.

Wow Evelyn Draper was not a fantasy
He doesn’t sound very much like a “good Aussie schnitzel” type to me.
Basically, what Bear is trying to say is that it was The BrucerSter’s idea to hire Higgins in the first place.
Whether Higgins knew that is unknown, but I’d say she did.
The problem was that Higgins found him repellent [see photos].
Now, Brucey could be a guy that believes in Noblesse Oblige,
which is sorta understandable given Higgins employment with the soon to retire Steven Ciobo was coming to an end and the Government was expected to fall 2 months later.
So, when the guy Higgins was on a date with saw Bruce coming their way, he skedaddled.
Starting to get the picture, yet?
See mUnty. This is what is known in the business as corroborative evidence.

And you aren’t him.

Crotchless head prefect. Be precise. And you are the chino clad, oily torso heart-breaker.
It’s a pity for Ed’s ever unconscious mind that BrucerSter had a girlfriend at the time.
Repulsive and yet attached.
It’s a conundrum for the impaired.
Well, he’s 74, his kids are very fond of him, I’d give him 5 years Probation.
Groogs is having one of his stopped watch moments. You suspect Bruce would pull the pin with his mate given his time again.
Bruce has a new girlfriend now, and, let’s put it this way, she’s got the biggest Gazongas in town.
Bruce isn’t very keen on Brittany any more.
[This is pure guesswork].
Does that excite you Ed?
“The problem was that Higgins found him repellent”
Fail.
Lerhmann was quite good looking in 2019.
Brucey had a fantasy about Higgins that wasn’t based in reality.
I coulda told him that:
1. Aussie women hate sex, and
2. They’re a full time pain in the arse
Stick to the Googlin’ Groogs. Baby steps.
If he keeps reeling off fifties he is like the grizzly bear … he can shit where he likes.
Does that excite you Ed?
Strange as it may seem, no.
No quite correct, Ed October.
They just hate having sex with you.
I bet the climate Nazis are also the biggest Covid fear mongers.
That’s pretty much where I am at with that story. Nut jobs sometimes go crazy, like that dude who shot Steve Scalise. It’s not a partisan thing as such, even though the individuals nominally get triggered by politics. Insane people should not be seen as representative of society.
Mr. Ed outs himself.
No surprises there.

No. They all want (incl. the obese & ugly ones) 6ft+, young, handsome, rich and a big cock.

But they are representative of a group intent on disintegrating America.
