My objection to “so” beginning a sentence is that it is inevitably followed by “what you are saying” as a prelude to stupid feline verballing.

How’s that? Are you saying John Paul Mac Isaac did not get the laptop from Hunter? Or that he added this “kompromat from Russian sources” to the laptop before handing it over to the FBI?

The whole story is so unbelievable that Twitter execs can be excused for smelling the stink and steering clear.

Are you saying the laptop is complete fake? All of those mundane but accurate details (like mundane emails confirmed with counterparties) were just faked somehow?

Went to a memorial service the other day, Rather unsettling, the deceased was a top bloke, worked hard, wife, two daughters. Developed chronic long term disease and died relatively young at 62.

Ceremony began with a ‘Welcome to Country’ delivered by a part aboriginal semi relation of his, this of course turned the attention from the deceased to the relative, no need for it all. Then usual eulogy by the celebrant, then 1st daughter spoke, she’s a PhD, loved her Dad but speech spattered with ‘Bloodies’ and other words not appropriate, then she spoke about how old white men had ruined the world, she didn’t think this included her dad or most of his mates and similar men in attendance, she disgusted me. 2nd daughter spoke fairly well but all I wanted to do was get out of the place.

Afterwards at the wake another of his relations proudly told me that he was cremated in a shroud because it was environmentally friendly, they didn’t think about the actual cremation I guess. Then she told me his remains were now in a sustainable bamboo fibre box, this woman is smart hard working, runs her own business and subscribes to all the renewable/environmental crap. She believes all the AGW stuff, we’re doomed.

The laptop is a maguffin. It contains no meaningful content. It is merely a prop.

The hint is that the whole thing is still about the laptop, as opposed to any specific allegation of wrongdoing.

This just doesn’t make any sense.

This is a sympathetic article which paints Biden as a victim of an invasion of privacy, but no, the crimes there are evidence of are many and involve corruption from Chinese and Ukrainian energy companies.

She believes all the AGW stuff, we’re doomed.

Albo thinks so. He was spouting off about it yesterday again. Yet the data is clear – nothing much is happening, just the usual cycles.

Anthony Albanese stresses Australia needs to be part of global response to climate change in passionate speech in Renmark (Sky News, 3 Dec)

“Forbes had four floods in recent times and I don’t know what it takes to have all of the Parliament wake up that climate change is real. “We need a long-term response and it needs to be a global response and Australia has got to be part of it.”

It’s a siren song, over and over. Meanwhile Europe and the US are forecast to be freezing cold from next week.

And what a bendy, lazy old river the Lachlan is. Until it rains. A gazillion years ago when my father was an apprentice, he worked on an old homestead on a bend in the river out at Condoblin. Big place, rammed earth, very high ceilings.

Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are in an airplane that crashes.

Next thing you know they’re up in heaven and standing before God.

God addresses Biden first: “Biden… what do you believe in?”

Biden replies “Well, I believe that the combustion engine is evil and that we need to save the world from CFC’s and that if any more freon is used, the whole earth will become a greenhouse and we’ll all die”. God thinks for a second and says “Okay, I can live with that. Come and sit at my left”.

God then addresses Hillary Clinton: ” Hillary, what do you believe in?”

Hillary replies “Well, I believe in power to the people. I think people should be able to make their own choices about things and that no one should ever be able to tell someone else what to do. I also believe in feeling people’s pain”.

God thinks for a second and says “Okay, that sounds good. Come and sit at my right”.

God then address Donald Trump: “Donald, what do you believe?” Donald replies “I believe you’re in my chair!”

Told my wife that I want a full Requiem Mass, Tridentine Rite and me in a coffin made of radioactive uranium. She’s thinks I’m being silly but the Mass part is true. I no longer attend Mass, any lingering respect I had for the Catholic Church in general was lost in their supine following of Dan’s covid rules, Pope Francis is (to borrow from Blackadder) the crowning turd in the blocked pipe. Still I would like a Requiem Mass in Latin. I don’t have to be there for it, I’m going to put it in my will.

My beautiful wife is an atheist and will want a memorial service that suits her and consoles her, that’s fair enough, funerals are for the living, not the dead, but a mass sometime after or before would be good, nobody needs attend, it will be for me, not them.

From The Daily Telegraph….

Brittany Higgins’ million-dollar compensation claim after collapse of rape trial

Lawyers acting for Brittany Higgins are set to hold talks with the federal government over a million-dollar compensation claim.

Lawyers acting for Brittany Higgins are set to hold talks with the federal government over a million-dollar compensation claim in the wake of the dramatic collapse of the rape trial on mental health grounds.

And the man originally charged over her alleged rape, Liberal staffer Bruce Lehrmann, is also considering civil remedies for a cash payout, with his legal team considering a Comcare claim, defamation action against media outlets and unfair dismissal from the jobs he lost after the allegations emerged.

Mr Lehrmann has always maintained his innocence and was never convicted of any crime.

Sources who have seen the legal documentation supporting Ms Higgins’ claim say that it includes compensation for lost earnings, future earnings and at-home support for Ms Higgins, who has not worked full-time since she went public with her account of an alleged incident at Parliament House.

The three respondents named in the legal correspondence are Senator Linda Reynolds, who was Ms Higgins’ direct employer at the time she was found in the ministerial suite by a security guard in 2019 and Liberal frontbencher Michaelia Cash and the Commonwealth.

But an official claim has not been filed while parties prepare to enter into mediation talks.

Ms Higgins’ personal lawyer Leon Zwier, who was a regular fixture at her criminal case in Canberra is aware of the claim.

However, Ms Higgins is being represented in the personal injury matter by Noor Blumer, a founding partner of Blumers Lawyer who has practised as a personal injury lawyer since 1992.

Ms Blumer has been quietly negotiating the claim since February.

It follows former Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s apology to Ms Higgins in parliament for the “many terrible experiences Ms Higgins has detailed during her time working at Parliament House and the treatment that she has described receiving whilst working here”.

But he insisted that apology was “by no means a reflection on the matters before a court”.

Ms Blumer declined to comment on the matter or any mediation talks when contacted.

A leading Canberra lawyer, Ms Blumer previously went public with her own complaint that former High Court judge Dyson Heydon tried to touch her leg under a table and kiss her at University of Canberra Law ball several years ago.

Mr Heydon issued a statement at the time through his lawyers denying “emphatically any allegation of sexual harassment or any offence”.

News of the compensation claim follows shock revelations over the weekend that police “unlawfully” sent Ms Higgins private counselling notes to Mr Lehrmann’s original defence team – who insisted they didn’t open it.

Further revelations that police held concerns there was insufficient evidence to charge Mr Lehrmann were also leaked to The Weekend Australian, prompting the prosecutor Shane Drumgold to raise concerns that this was – potentially – another unlawful disclosure.

Last year, Senator Reynolds offered a confidential defamation settlement to Ms Higgins after it emerged she had privately referred to her as a “lying cow”.

The money was donated to charity.

But Liberal sources said Ms Reynolds, who gave dramatic evidence at the criminal trial this year, was reluctant to settle the case.

“She will never, ever, agree to settle,” a Liberal source said.

The other former minister named in the claim, Senator Cash, emphatically denied in the ACT Supreme Court that she knew of Ms Higgins’ rape allegations more than a year before it became public in February 2021.

“Not a sexual element, no,” Senator Cash said.

“The first time that she mentioned an (alleged) sexual element was I think in the conversation on the 5th of February 2021.”

It led to a dramatic confrontation in court where the Director of Public Prosecutions asked her if she knew what the phrase “plausible deniability” meant.

“I’m putting to you that you’re denying that because it would be politically embarrassing for you?” Mr Drumgold said.

“Absolutely not. I just don’t understand the line of questioning on political embarrassment. I don’t know how it could be politically embarrassing,’’ she replied.

Defence barrister Steven Whybrow, subsequently suggested to Senator Cash that it would have been “political suicide to try and cover up a (complaint of) sexual assault between two staff”.

“Correct, hence my confusion with the line of questioning,” she replied.

It’s not the first time Senator Cash has been the subject of a compensation claim. In September 2021, news.com.au revealed Liberal frontbenchers Alan Tudge and Michaelia Cash were both named in a landmark taxpayer-funded $650,000 “no admissions” settlement to former political staffer Rachelle Miller for “hurt, distress and humiliation”.

The breakdown of the agreed payout includes $10,000 in respect of past loss of earning capacity; $100,000 in respect of loss of future earning capacity; $28,000 as reimbursement for past medical and like expenses incurred by Ms Miller; $62,000 for future medical expenses to be incurred by Ms Miller; and $300,000 for hurt, distress, humiliation, dislocation of life, loss of professional standing and impairment of personal dignity; and $150,000 as reimbursement for Ms Miller’s legal costs.”

Firstly, what a fucking joke. What was that about “political interference”? What we’re smelling is a stinky miasma of political malfeasance, all aimed at Liberals.

Secondly, that dickhead Morrison’s description of “many terrible experiences”. You want to talk about sub judice? My God he was a disgrace.

Finally, when Brittaneeeeee the Knickerless receives a payout (and she will), someone should suggest to her that she go and buy a few pairs of knickers.

I mentioned a couple of days ago on Catallaxy that I was interested to know whether the method of administering the jab for Covid 19 might have contributed to Vax injuries and deaths. This followed my viewing of a video early in the vax rollout from a European research scientist who demonstrated that if the vax was injected directly into the bloodstream it could travel quickly to the heart and other organs causing inflammation and critical injury. He cautioned that medicos needed to be briefed on the correct method of injection as this was contrary to recent practice for other types injections. Interestingly this article has just appeared on this subject. “Could the Method Used When Injecting the Covid Vaccines be Causing Vaccine Injuries?“,
“As Registered Nurses we are veterans of administering many hundreds, if not thousands, of intramuscular injections. So, we have the appropriate knowledge to raise a significant concern with the current, possibly faulty, practice of covid vaccine administration, and to suggest that this is a factor in the litany of injuries and deaths reported via the Yellow Card pharmacovigilance system.” More here https://dailysceptic.org/2022/12/03/__trashed-12/

Knight, who has drawn the iconic rock on countless occasions without issue, said he was “gobsmacked” and initially believed the letter was a prank.

“I’ve drawn Uluru for all my career as a cartoonist and I’ve never heard of this before. I didn’t know that, probably the greatest landmark of Australia, was copyrighted,” he said.

Knight said it was ironic he was asked to immediately take down the cartoon – which was drawn in support of the Voice to Parliament.

“It made me feel like I had done something wrong. I thought it was a very nice image and low and behold, ironically, I was asked to take it down,” he said.

Knight initially believed the letter was a prank.
“The cartoon was sympathetic for the Voice to Parliament, and the reason I used Uluru is because the Voice to Parliament came from the Uluru Statement from the Heart.

“Why would you want to take something down that is supporting your cause?”

The Herald Sun refused to comply with the request, engaged legal counsel to fight the claim and made contact with Parks Australia about the demand.

Parks Australia maintained their stance and referred the newspaper to a 44-page government-authorised media handbook – which states that organisations wanting to use the rock for commercial purposes must apply for a permit, with the guidelines in place to “protect Anangu against inappropriate use and benefits to others from the commercialisation of their Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Property”.
As the Herald Sun continued to press Parks Australia over the matter, on Saturday evening the agency backflipped on its stance.

In a brief statement a communications manager said: “We apologise to Mr Knight for this error – it isn’t a request that should have been made.’’

The initial order was condemned by academic and Indigenous affairs commentator Anthony Dillon, who said the matter posed “a lot of questions”.

“Any request to remove the cartoon from public viewing serves no useful purpose, as it has only drawn attention to a topic which all Australians should know about,” he said.

Historian Geoffrey Blainey added: “This kind of censorship, while well meaning, is preposterous.”

It was seen as a threat by some. And so my cartoon changed, and now Uluru, symbolic of the Voice hovered near Parliament House, it cast a shadow on those below.

In a scene like a science fiction movie, the leader of the National Party David Littleproud yells that we may be under attack, people are running in fear from something unknown and misunderstood. It is an all too frequent occurrence where we act on ignorance.

Let’s hope that I can draw that cartoon of Uluru landing beside Parliament House and the two symbols of our nation working together to build a better Australia for all who live here.

Musk says Twitter might have interfered in Brazil elections

Twitter might have interfered in another national election, Elon Musk said.

The social media platform’s personnel may have tried to swing the political tide in Brazil toward left wing stalwart, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who ousted the country’s far right leader, Jair Bolsonaro.

“I’ve seen a lot of concerning tweets about the recent Brazil election. If those tweets are accurate, it’s possible that Twitter personnel gave preference to left wing candidates,” Musk tweeted early Saturday in response to a user who asked him to get to the bottom of any other national elections Twitter had inserted itself into.

Within minutes, Musk also faced calls for disclosures about recent elections in Israel, India, and Canada.

What’s missing from the Twitter files: The truth about the FBI

By Miranda Devine

Elon Musk half-delivered on his promise to tell all about Twitter’s censorship of The New York Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story before the 2020 election.

What was missing were details of specific warnings we know the FBI made to Twitter about a Russian “hack and leak operation” involving Hunter during their weekly meetings with top executives of the social media giant in the days and weeks before The Post published its exclusive bombshell.

We know that FBI Supervisory Special Agent Elvis Chan testified Tuesday in a lawsuit against the Biden administration brought by Republican attorneys that he organized those weekly meetings with Twitter and Facebook in San Francisco for as many as seven Washington-based FBI agents in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election.

Twitter’s then-head of Site Integrity Yoel Roth has stated in a sworn declaration that he was told during those meetings to expect “hack-and-leak operations” by state actors involving Hunter Biden.

Twitter cited its new “hacked materials” policy on October 14, 2020, when it locked The Post’s account for two weeks and censored our story revealing an email from Hunter’s Ukrainian benefactor thanking him for meeting with his father, the then-VP, in Washington, DC. The email was not “hacked material”; it came from Hunter’s laptop, which was the legal possession of Delaware computer repair shop owner John Paul Mac Isaac. The Post published an image of the Dec. 2019 subpoena issued to Mac Isaac for the laptop which Hunter had abandoned at his store eight months earlier.

Climate lockdowns coming? You will be tracked in your suburb and happy about it.
By Jo Nova

The 15 Minute City is a UN and WEF plan, because they care about you want you drive less.

A cartoon from the WEF just for you good girls and boys:

The madness of the ‘15-minute city’

The green agenda is taking inspiration from the illiberal days of lockdown.

To this end, Oxfordshire County Council, which is run by Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the Green Party, wants to divide the city of Oxford into six ‘15 minute’ districts. In these districts, it is said, most household essentials will be accessible by a quarter-of-an-hour walk or bike ride, and so residents will have no need for a car.

On the surface, these 15-minute neigbourhoods might sound pleasant and convenient. But there is a coercive edge. The council plans to cut car use and traffic congestion by placing strict rules on car journeys.

Residents will have to register their cars with the council and they will be tracked to count their journeys through the key gateways. It’s the social credit scheme that starts with your car and works like anti-frequent-flyer points.

Under the new proposals, if any of Oxford’s 150,000 residents drives outside of their designated district more than 100 days a year, he or she could be fined £70.

The concept of the 15-minute city was born with ‘C40’. Chaired today by London mayor Sadiq Khan, C40 calls itself a ‘network of mayors of nearly 100 world-leading cities collaborating to deliver the urgent action needed right now to confront the climate crisis’.

Climate lockdowns? Seriously?

Oxfordshire County Council Pass Climate Lockdown ‘trial’ to Begin in 2024
Vision News, November 30th

Oxfordshire County Council yesterday approved plans to lock residents into one of six zones to ‘save the planet’ from global warming. The latest stage in the ’15 minute city’ agenda is to place electronic gates on key roads in and out of the city, confining residents to their own neighbourhoods.

Under the new scheme if residents want to leave their zone they will need permission from the Council who gets to decide who is worthy of freedom and who isn’t. Under the new scheme residents will be allowed to leave their zone a maximum of 100 days per year, but in order to even gain this every resident will have to register their car details with the council who will then track their movements via smart cameras round the city.

Every resident will be required to register their car with the County Council who will then monitor how many times they leave their district via number plate recognition cameras.

In the end, these aggressively overmanaged schemes mean more paperwork, more tracking, more jobs for bureaucrats and more free passes for “friends” of Big Government.

Despite that they had some excellent chances late in the second half which they couldn’t convert. Messi’s goal was sublime. Changes are needed and we have to get the bulk of our squad playing in the big leagues in Europe.

Nigeria’s President Says West-Supplied Weapons In Ukraine Are ‘Filtering’ Into Africa

The Nigerian government says that foreign-supplied weapons transferred from the West to the Ukrainian government have begun to proliferate in the west African region. The illegal arms have begun to “filter” to the region, Nigeria’s president said.

An urgent warning was recently issued by President Muhammadu Buhari himself. An official statement posted to the website of the Nigerian presidency’s office said that Buhari “urged more vigilance and tightening of security around borders, drawing attention to the increased number of arms, ammunition, and other weapons from the Russia and Ukraine war in the Lake Chad Basin.”

It marks the clearest confirmation yet that weapons intended for Ukrainian forces are exiting the country in large numbers, precisely as many observers feared given the billions of dollars worth of arms that have been pumped in over the course of the nine-month war.

President Buhari said, “Regrettably, the situation in the Sahel and the raging war in Ukraine serve as major sources of weapons and fighters that bolster the ranks of the terrorists in the Lake Chad Region. A substantial proportion of the arms and ammunition procured to execute the war in Libya continues to find its way to the Lake Chad Region and other parts of the Sahel.”

He continued, “Weapons being used for the war in Ukraine and Russia are equally beginning to filter to the region.”

“This illegal movement of arms into the region has heightened the proliferation of small arms and light weapons which continues to threaten our collective peace and security in the region. There is, therefore, the urgent need for expedited collaborative actions by our border control agencies and other security services to stop the circulation of all illegal weapons in the region,” Buhari noted.

Critics of the massive US weapons pipeline to Ukraine have long pointed out there’s no accountability or appropriate tracking once those arms enter the country, presenting ripe opportunities for criminals, terrorists, or lucrative black market arms sellers to take advantage.

drawing attention to the increased number of arms, ammunition, and other weapons from the Russia and Ukraine war in the Lake Chad Basin.

I suspect a lot of it is actually coming from Afghanistan as the jihadis in the Sahel have close links with the Taliban, Al Qaeda and ISIS. Plus the Taliban are short of cash, so selling on some of the stuff they got given by Joe would be logical. There’s a readymade conduit from Afghanistan to Sudan, then across into Chad.

The arms from Ukraine are more likely to filter into the illegal drug industry in Europe, than all the way to Central Africa. They’d get more money for them that way.

But Mr Mo the Prez of Nigeria has political reasons for wanting to deflect away from the Taliban since he’s a muslim tacitly on the side of the Fulani, his muslim brothers. Much better to blame those wicked Christians.

Amsterdam has had its fill of sex and drug tourists

By Bruno Waterfield
The Times
10:06AM December 3, 2022
46 Comments

Amsterdam is fighting back against foreign louts with an advertising campaign and new restrictions to stop tourists travelling there for drink, drugs and sex.

The city will begin a “discouragement campaign” in the spring to put off “nuisance” British tourists seen as the principal menace to peace and quiet on Amsterdam’s 17th and 18th century streets and canals. Councillors said it would be a “targeted, digital discouragement campaign on foreign visitors who only come to Amsterdam for alcohol, drugs and sex”.

Sofyan Mbarki, the deputy mayor who is in charge of the initiatives, said: “The aim of the campaign is to keep out visitors that we do not want. If we love the city, we must take action now.

“Action is needed to prevent nuisance and overcrowding. Amsterdam is a world city and bustle and liveliness come along with this but to keep our city liveable we need to choose limits instead of irresponsible growth.”

Amsterdam’s cannabis coffee shops are a magnet for often loutish groups of stag and hen parties.

Drunk or stoned groups of young men walk to the city’s famous red light district, renowned for its legalised brothels with prostitutes on display behind shop windows, creating a toxic atmosphere for residents. The stay-away campaign will initially focus on British tourists and, if successful, will tackle nuisance-causing groups from other countries, according to Noord-Holland, the broadcaster.

This week Mbarki presented a series of measures to the city’s municipal executive, including a ban on smoking cannabis in city centre streets, reducing numbers of nuisance stag parties and pub crawls and limits on the number of river cruises.

There are also plans to move about 100 brothel windows away from the Wallen district near the central train station to a new “erotic” centre and hotel.

Councillors are concerned that the red light district has become a voyeuristic and offensive tourist attraction far removed from the port city’s earthy and romantic past as celebrated by Jacques Brel’s song Amsterdam.

The council is also examining whether to ban the sale of hashish and marijuana after 4pm from Thursday to Sunday.

Mbarki’s plan has the long-term aim of keeping tourism below ten million overnight stays each year; numbers have almost doubled from 5.3 million in 2010.?One long-term project, if legal problems can be surmounted, is to limit the number of cheaper hotels and holiday rentals, with possible bans in central districts which have been overwhelmed by tourists.

Hotels of “moderate quality” will be encouraged with grants to convert premises into homes or offices and the council will negotiate an agreement with the hospitality sector to set a maximum number of beds in the city.

The real objective is to move Amsterdam away from the lower-end market of drug, drink and sex tours that put little back into the city’s economy but creates a nuisance.

“We want to get rid of commercial parties who earn their money from vulgar touristic entertainment in the scarce public space in the city centre: entertainment that does not take any account of Amsterdammers who live or work in the city,” Mbarki said.

Always enjoyed holidaying in Amsterdam, but you do notice the yobbo tourists.

In the new world order of the WEF we will be classed by the sort of food we will be allowed to consume. The private jet class will be expected to consume wagyu beef, lobster and caviar. Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Property.

The concept of intellectual property is a Western one. So Aborigines who want to preserve their own culture and avoid Western culture obviously shouldn’t appropriate it.

I don’t really believe this, I believe all human beings are free to take whatever ideas they like from any culture they meet up with. And good luck to them. But then, I’m a Westerner, so I would feel that way. But the bunch of silly buggers who tried to copyright Ayer’s Rock aren’t being consistent; anyway, the rock doesn’t belong to them, they belong to it. Although I don’t suppose being inconsistent bothers them much. Logic is a Western idea which they don’t like or value.

You can hear the astonishment in Knights voice: He was being a good and dutiful serf – but it is sometimes hard for the lower orders to anticipate the subtle deliberations of their masters, and sometimes when they guess wrong, when despite their best efforts they misstep – the proper response is for them to fall on their faces and grovel, begging forgiveness.

Cartoonists were once gadflies – minuscule tormentors of the high and mighty (as well as those who only saw themselves as such), unnaturally gifted in finding the smallest patch of exposed skin to deliver their sting.

They were able to strip away all the pretence and obfuscation of the self-serving and lay their malice and smallness bare.

Who can forget that magnificent cartoon of Bill Leak’s – and all the people who simply did not notice the police officer was Aboriginal too. He was right there. He was the first one talking. But, nup!

A bit like these kind of memes. (Except my example affirms a healthy bit of human nature, even if in a slightly crass way.)

Now that Knight has seen what happens, what are the chances that he will form the slightest inkling that this is a foretaste of what The Voice is about. If this council backed down this time it is only because they ultimately did not have the power and legislation to enable them to persist in this chastisement. But their instincts and reflexes (“This bit of Australia is ours. You must defer to us, beg us, and pay us!”) are on full display, just waiting for the day when they can manifest them through legal force.

Nah. He won’t.

A story on the Hun website has this subheading:
Elon Musk is going to reveal bombshell information that will rock US politics within hours as his takeover of Twitter descends into chaos.

Black Ball
Black Ball
December 4, 2022 11:49 am

The article:
Elon Musk has teased at leaking confidential documents that offer an explosive look at how Twitter handled top secret files.

The Twitter CEO rocked the platform yesterday after sharing top secret files showing Joe Biden’s team instructed Twitter employees to remove specific political content in October 2020, just weeks before he was elected US president.

Journalist Matt Taibbi shared the tweets in a viral thread on Saturday morning.

The thread included screenshots of emails revealing that Twitter employees deliberately suspended, banned or censored users who commented on the controversy surrounding the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop.

In a follow up Tweet on Saturday, Musk teased that there would be more bombshell documents released today, dubbed the Twitter Files “episode 2”.

“What you’re about to read is the first installment in a series, based upon thousands of internal documents obtained by sources at Twitter,” Mr Taibbi stated.

The journalist said that as a social media app, Twitter has regressed from a platform that encouraged free expression, to a “tool for controlling speech”.

“Slowly, over time, Twitter staff and executives began to find more and more uses for these tools,” he added.

“Outsiders began petitioning the company to manipulate speech as well: first a little, then more often, then constantly.”

Musk’s first round of his “Twitter Files” exposed documents which suggest that on at least one occasion Joe Biden’s team instructed Twitter employees to remove specific political content.

Musk later confirmed the Biden’s team involvement.

“More to review from the Biden team,” a redacted email from a Twitter employee read.

The message contained five tweet URLs, followed by a “thanks all” – which another employee replied with “handled these”.

“Twitter took extraordinary steps to suppress the story, removing links and posting warnings that it may be ‘unsafe.’” Taibbi said.

“They even blocked its transmission via direct message, a tool hitherto reserved for extreme cases, e.g. child pornography.”

In another instance, the then-White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany was reportedly locked out of her Twitter account for sharing content about the Hunter Biden controversy.

“This led public policy executive Caroline Strom to send out a polite WTF query,” Taibbi continued.

“Several employees noted that there was tension between the comms/policy teams, who had little/less control over moderation, and the safety/trust teams.”

The New York Post initially broke the story in October this year, after the then president elect’s son. Hunter Biden, had his laptop taken to a computer repair shop in his home state of Delaware in April 2019.

The laptop itself reportedly included thousands of emails between Hunter Biden and his business partners.

The exact contents of the portable drive originating from Hunter Biden’s Macbook Pro are not fully known.

But the New York Post reported in October 2020 that one message, from April 2015, allegedly shows a Burisma board member thanking Hunter for setting up a meeting with President Biden.

Descends into chaos? FMD

Poll: Donald Trump Holds Double-Digit Lead in Hypothetical 2024 Primary

The survey found Trump leading Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), in the hypothetical primary race by double digits, 47 percent to 28 percent. However, the survey also showed DeSantis’s support has increased exponentially since May, when he garnered 12 percent support.

“Trump leads among most surveyed demographics, including all regions, especially the South (52%), urban voters (53%), younger voters aged 18-29 (58%), female voters (49%), non-college educated voters (53%), Hispanic voters (58%), Generation Z (62%), Millennial (56%) and Generation X voters (60%),” the survey found, noting that DeSantis holds a two-point edge among independent voters.

Former Vice President Mike Pence placed third with eight percent support, and the remainder of potential candidates earned less than five percent support.

However, when Trump is out of the scenario, DeSantis takes the strong double-digit lead with 48 percent support, followed by Pence with 21 percent.

The survey was taken November 9-11, 2022, among 864 likely GOP primary voters.

Despite the survey showing DeSantis taking the lead in a situation where Trump is absent, that scenario is unlikely to happen, given the fact that Trump formally announced his 2024 presidential campaign last month.

Gold from Troy, Poliochni and Ur All had Same Origin

New laser method enables study of famous jewelry – trade links in Early Bronze Age stretched as far as Indus valley

The gold in objects from Troy, Poliochni – a settlement on the island of Lemnos which lies roughly 60 kilometers away from Troy – and Ur in Mesopotamia have the same geographic origin and were traded over great distances. This discovery has been made by an international team of researchers which using an innovative mobile laser method has for the first time been able to analyze samples of the famous Early Bronze Age jewelry from Troy and Poliochni.

Comparative archaeological studies have shown from strikingly similar items that these were used in the Early Bronze Age across a large geographic area, stretching from the Aegean to the Indus valley in what is now Pakistan: official seals and standardized weights, earrings with the same spiral patterns, gemstones such as lapis lazuli or the shimmering carnelian. “The new archaeometric data open up a sound and global framework for our models of societies, their networks and the significance of resources around 4500 years ago,” says Horejs.
