Given their remit, which is to investigate corruption in Federal agencies, this would seem to be a massive over-reaction.

So who’s investigating Drumgold, the politicians (so far unnamed) who interfered and the Judge for her conduct? Fairs fair if you are going to muck coal.

Yup thought so. Good luck trying to throw the cops under a bus. Mates who did time in the blue reckon Police Assoc won’t take attempts to hang them out to dry laying down.

Twitter executives lied to Congress and their users about shadow-banning, and they targeted particular accounts for ideological and political reasons

The statement to Congress came in 2018, the Twitter Files are from 2021. It is still possible that the statements they made in 2018 were correct at the time. Maybe the software was written later. I’m not saying that is the likely scenario, but more reporting is needed to confirm whether they were shadowbanning in 2018.

As for targeting, Taibbi and Weiss featured right-wing accounts but that does not mean that left-wing accounts were not targeted as well. This is the IRS thing all over again – the IRS did not specifically target right-wing PACs for audits as everyone who was on the edge was in their sights, but the right squealed and pretended that it was only them.

Everyone can see through the partisan slant on the story. No one is getting fooled, we are too far into the Trump era now. We know what gaslighting looks like, and this is it. Don’t come the raw prawn.

What kind of a deal is it to swap Brittney Griner, a basketball player who openly hates our Country, for the man known as “The Merchant of Death,” who is one of the biggest arms dealers anywhere in the World, and responsible for tens of thousands of deaths and horrific injuries. ACT’s top cop want rape trial probe to include DPP, Higgins

By JANET ALBRECHTSEN
Columnist
8:48PM December 9, 2022

The ACT’s chief police officer has signalled he wants the planned public inquiry into Bruce Lehrmann’s rape trial to examine the behaviour of Director of Public Prosecutions Shane Drumgold SC and an alleged contempt of court by Brittany Higgins, as the rift between Territory police and the DPP spirals into crisis.

Allegations of misconduct around the case have been referred to the Australian Law Enforcement Integrity Commission following publication of a letter of complaint sent by Mr Drumgold to police chief Neil Gaughan alleging “inappropriate interference” by police during the investigation and trial.

In the letter released by the DPP under Freedom of Information laws to The Guardian but withheld from other media outlets, Mr Drumgold said there was “a very clear campaign” by police to pressure him not to prosecute Mr Lehrmann for the alleged rape of Ms Higgins.

Mr Drumgold called for a public inquiry to examine “both political and police conduct” but on Friday, Deputy Commissioner Gaughan made it clear police also wanted the prosecution’s conduct firmly in the inquiry’s sights.

In an email to his officers, Commissioner Gaughan welcomed a public inquiry “into all aspects of the matter including … the actions of police, the prosecution and defence, issues leading to delays in the trial, issues leading to the subsequent mistrial, the decision not to proceed and the associated allegations of contempt of court”.

Ms Higgins’ statement outside court after the trial was aborted, comparing her treatment with the accused’s right to silence, were referred by the defence to police for possible contempt of court.

Mr Lehrmann has indicated he may sue the ABC for broadcasting the comments.

Mr Gaughan acknowledged “the dedication, professionalism and commitment” of the officers involved in the investigation. He also noted that ACT Policing had not been consulted by the DPP in the FOI process, a failure that the police union says is potentially in breach of the law.

The ACT’s Freedom of Information Act states that the “respondent must take reasonable steps to consult with the relevant third party before deciding to give access to the information”.

The release of the letter to The Guardian comes after revelations by The Australian that police believed there was insufficient evidence to prosecute Mr Lehrmann but could not stop the DPP from doing so because, in the words of one senior investigator, “there is too much political interference”.

LOL, why yes, Monty is right, but as usual he’s being sly. Twitter did censor some leftists who went against the woke progressive Twitter orthodoxy, particularly on “trans issues”. Twitter censored “TERFs” such as Meghan Murphy, Kellie Jay Keen, Julie Bindel, Graham Linehan, Kathleen Stock, among others, none of these people could be described as “right-wing” or “far-right” but because they dared to question/critique nonsense such as “transwomen are women”…they were booted from the platform. A most confusing report from the Telegraph. 88 suspected homicides over 24 years?

The independence of analysis used to support a police report which found claims of gay-hate killings had been exaggerated has been called into question, as emails between officers and academics were presented to an inquiry.

On Friday, New South Wales assistant Commissioner Anthony Crandell faced his fourth day of questioning about Strike Force Parrabell at the Special Commission of Inquiry into LGBTIQ hate crimes.

Parrabell was commissioned by Mr Crandell in 2015 following public scrutiny of NSW Police over the deaths or disappearances, of 88 gay or transgender people between 1976 and 2000.

Published in 2010, In Pursuit of Truth and Justice alleged these people were killed in “deliberate and brutal” anti-LGBTIQ attacks and police had, at times, turned a blind eye.

Then the NSW Police corporate sponsor for sexuality and gender diversity, Mr Crandell green-lit the Strike Force to “counter these allegations” and quell “moral panic”.

“I activated Strike Force Parrabell to investigate claims that (the deaths or disappearances) … were gay-hate crimes, and that police did not investigate these matters competently,” he wrote in an email shown to the Commission.

“In essence, though there is still some way to go investigatively, there is clear contrary evidence to earlier published research … that asserts prevalence of gay-hate crimes and inactivity of the NSWPF.”

In Parabell’s final report published in 2017, as few as eight cases were found to have evidence of being hate killings.

There were 19 suspected hate crimes, while 34 had no evidence and 25 had insufficient evidence.

In the report, it was suggested commentary had “exaggerated or even grossly exaggerated the scope of the underlying phenomenon”.

Under at times tense questioning by counsel assisting the Inquiry, Peter Gray SC, Mr Crandell admitted emails between police and the academics “looked like an attempt to reach consensus”.

The inquiry heard Flinders University academics were brought in to independently review the results of Parrabell investigators because Mr Crandell held concerns “police reviewing police may not be accepted by the LGBTIQ community”.

“I desperately wanted it reviewed because I wanted an independent perspective,” he said.

Over 18 months, Parrabell officers “subjectively” reviewed case files for indicators of gay-hate bias before their results were sent to the Flinders University researchers for review.

Numerous examples of correspondence between police and research lead Associate Professor Derek Dalton about their “collaborative effort” was shown to the Inquiry.

Mr Gray suggested the emails indicated the independent assessment had been compromised by the “opinions” of Parrabell investigators.

“Sometimes (well, very rarely actually) we have had to criticise NSWPF but, more often than not, our sense is that we have taken pains to defend aspects of the review,” Dr Dalton wrote to Parrabell officers after finishing the review.

“However, it bears emphasizing that some inherent criticism (all of it levelled at police from a past era) will ensure our report is taken seriously by the public.”

“Would you agree that rather than an independent assessment … Dr Dalton saw his role as providing public relations for New South Wales Police?” Mr Grey questioned.

“Maybe the whole endeavour was misguided.”

Mr Crandell baulked at the suggestion, saying that while he was confused by some of the wording used, both police and the academic team strove to have the results stand up against “inevitable criticism”.

“In essence there was collaboration to determine differences in findings and reasons,” he said.

“I still wanted them to provide an independent and transparent review. I’m not sure why he (Dr Dalton) would write that.”

The Inquiry previously heard the metric by which police judged whether a hate crime was present did not have any evidence to support its use and was developed by NSW Police.

Mr Crandell’s colleague, Sergeant Geoff Steer, the former co-ordinator of the disbanded Bias Crime Unit, had “major reservations”.

“I can tell you, from 21 years of policing and 16 years studying and dealing with bias crimes that these work when used as they are designed to be used,” he wrote.

“If used as a checklist, they do not work.”

Mr Crandell defended the work of the Parrabell report, saying it was a “difficult job” but police had taken a systematic approach to review the documents inaccessible to the authors of the paper which had first identified the 88 deceased or missing people.

“I felt I had sufficient expertise in the team to arrive at that determination,” he said.

The Inquiry before Justice John Sackar continues.

Just fucking wow. Go David Warner, James Erskine and go now. And whoever else is implicated. Daily Telegraph:

David Warner’s bombshell statement about withdrawing from his leadership ban review on Test eve was done in consultation with his lawyers and the Australian Cricketers Association, but not his manager James Erskine.

A gap appears to have developed in the dynamic of Warner and Erskine’s working relationship, with cricket sources adamant Erskine went “off the reservation” with his explosive claims on SEN Radio on Thursday that players were “told to tamper” in a Hobart dressing room in 2016.

There’s a perception that by being his manager, Erskine was doing Warner’s bidding in his stunning interview on SEN, but News Corp has been told by numerous cricketing sources that Erskine spoke without Warner’s knowledge or consent.

Erskine has Warner’s best interests at heart and News Corp is not suggesting any issue exists between the pair, but the fact is it’s one of Erskine’s directors Tom Matson, and not Erskine himself who is Warner’s day-to-day manager (albeit they work alongside each other at the same company).

Warner’s shock “public lynching” statement that he was pulling out of the independent process to review his lifetime leadership ban, would have come as a shock to his management because it was written and executed without their input.

It was only Warner’s lawyers and the Australian Cricketers Association via their boss Todd Greenberg who were involved.

Erskine’s advice to his client to remain silent in the years’ following the Cape Town incident has served Warner extremely well and arguably greatly strengthened Warner’s public position amid all the conjecture that still exists over what happened in 2018.

But many in the game feel Erskine contradicted his own advice in his SEN interview where he dug up skeletons from the ball tampering scandal.

“He (Warner) has shut up, he protected Cricket Australia, he protected his fellow players on my advice, because at the end of the day no one wanted to hear any more of it and he’s got on playing cricket,” said Erskine.

But Erskine continued, fuelled by the frustration he clearly feels towards Cricket Australia for what Warner has gone through, making comments which have reverberated through the game.

“The truth will come out,” Erskine said.

“You’d have to be a blind black labrador to not realise that there was far more than three people (Warner, Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft) involved in this thing.

“There’s lots of people … there’s two cricketers at the time that said, why don’t we just put our hands up and tell the truth, they can’t fire all of us.

“That’s what’s happened.

“ … (Two officials) in the changing room in Hobart (in 2016) were basically berating the team for losing to South Africa.

“Warner said, ‘we’ve got to reverse swing the ball. And the only way we can reverse swing the ball is basically by tampering with it’ – so they were told to do it.”

Warner and his family and other Australian team members were hounded by television cameras on Friday morning in Adelaide, in part due to the fallout from Erskine’s comments which were met with vehement denials from multiple officials from Cricket Australia at the time.

“They were really unhelpful and I think unfounded comments,” said CA chief Nick Hockley on SEN.

“I think that’s totally counter to the objective of the process and I think it’s precisely what David was hoping would not happen when he applied for it to be done in private.

“ … Some of the comments that I think have added to this situation have clearly not been his (Warner’s) own, they’ve been via representatives. So I’m really keen to see how he’s going and how he’s feeling following his decision to withdraw.”

Greenberg also responded to Erskine’s comments.

“I heard those comments from James Erskine yesterday, I can’t speak to any of that. I don’t know to be fair. I know James is a very passionate advocate for those he represents … he’s got every right to be upset at how that matter was handled,” said Greenberg on SEN.

“I don’t personally think it’s helpful for any of us to look backwards. I think we’ve done that already way too much … that’s probably been lost in the last 24 hours and I hope we can start looking forward rather than backwards.”

Yes, Dumgold, you dummkopf, that would just so happen to be due to this particular pair of words:

“ZERO EVIDENCE”

As I reported earlier, the Commonwealth’s Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity has initiated an investigation into ACT Policing’s handling of the Higgins case after a complaint was received by them.

Given that the brief of this body is to investitate criminal corruption in federal agencies, this would seem to be applying the proverbial sledge hammer to crack a walnut.

One might be led thereby to entertain the possibility that some persons other than, and of more reputational weight than Mr. Drumgold, have an existential interest in the ACT police’s view of this matter being shut down decisively.

This is turning out to be potentially bigger than the Pell miscarriage of justice.

A rushing Chinese tour bus driver at Menzies forced Puffing Billy to suspend its century-long practice of letting passengers dangle their legs out the sides of their passenger cars for at some 4 years. It was only allowed again in February.

VicLibs’ new leader confirms what we already know: spineless, brainless and generally less of everything. Just moved on AAP:

“….With women accounting for 10 of the 33 partyroom attendees, Mr Pesutto said he was open to exploring quotas for female candidates to boost female representation.”

The quota for ninnies, however, has been long exceeded

This [the Brittany soap opera]is turning out to be potentially bigger than the Pell miscarriage of justice.

Not sure it is bigger than overturning a State Court of Appeal judgment (including the CJ) by unanimous High Court joint judgement but it certainly has the potential to claim more scalps. A lot less institutional support for the various players within the ACT town council than the Victoriastan junta.

A man appears before a judge one day, asking for a divorce. The judge quietly reviewed some papers and then said “Please tell me why you are seeking a divorce”. “Because” the man said “I live in a two-story house”. The Judge replies “Rubbish! What kind of a reason is that? What is the big deal about a two-story house?” The man answers “Well, one story is ‘I have a headache’ and the other story is ‘It’s that time of the month’”.

A blonde went into a message centre to send a message to her mother overseas. When the man told her it would cost £300, she exclaimed “I don’t have any money. But I’d do ANYTHING to get a message to my mother”. The man arched an eyebrow (as we would expect). “Anything?” he asked. “Yes, yes, anything” the blonde promised. “Well then, just follow me” said the man as he walked towards the next room. The blonde did as she was told and followed the man. “Come in and close the door” the man said. She did. He then said “Now get on your knees”. She did. “Now take down my zipper”. She did. “Now go ahead take it out…” he said. She reached in and grabbed it with both hands… then paused. The man closed his eyes and whispered “Well… go ahead”. The blonde slowly brought her mouth closer to it and while holding it close to her lips, she said… “HELLO MUM… CAN YOU HEAR ME?”

Elon Musk is Exposing the Sheer Hatred of the LEFT

From Armstrong Economics –

“Many people are starting to say that Elon Musk should run for president. Musk was born and grew up in Pretoria, South Africa. He has now become the richest man in the world worth around $171 billion. He cannot run for president since he was not born in the USA. He is exposing the corruption of the LEFT releasing Twitter docs that prove beyond question what I have been saying that the LEFT is always EVIL for they cannot sleep at night worrying about what others are doing. They were creating secret blacklists. Make no mistake about it – the LEFT absolutely hates you and would much rather see you dead than coexist. History stands as a witness to that statement.

Twitter began “to give everyone the power to create and share ideas and information instantly, without barriers.” The LEFT is pure evil and they will destroy the United States because they do not believe in any of our freedoms. It must be their way or no way. They will rig elections and do whatever it takes to oppress, us, their hated opponents. We need to be controlled and that is what they see as the answer to all their theories. This appears to have been just part of human nature for it is one of the Ten Commandments that was intended to outlaw their objectives. Make no mistake about it – they despise you.

I went behind the Berlin Wall before it fell. I saw what these people always do. I went with a friend to visit his family who was trapped there. His cousin gave us a tour and when anyone was remotely close, she would do the typical Communist routine how wonder what the government was and took such great care. As soon as nobody was near, she would curse them out. One of the film crew on the Forecaster grew up in East Germany. The day the Wall fell, his father was able to get his Stasi file. He saw everyone he thought were his friend was ratting on him. He came home and began punching holes in the walls. He thought his father was insane. Then he was pulling out microphones. From then on, he would never speak to anyone again except for his family.

Let’s get honest here. The LEFT trusts no one. They collected evidence on everyone for they were the notorious Stasi of East Germany. When the wall came down, the extent of the secret police operations targeted against their own people was mind-blowing. What surfaced was their “smelling jars” collection. Yes, the Stasi used odor recognition to keep tabs on anyone they suspected. The Stasi often collected the samples covertly by breaking into homes to steal a suspect’s used underwear. They then kept them in jars in case they turned up missing to hunt them down using dogs.

This is what the LEFT has achieved here in the United States. Censoring everything and creating this cancel culture. I am so glad I am not 18, yet sad for my grandchildren will have to endure this horrible rise of the LEFT. I will celebrate the day when America splits for those who are LEFT should go to California and those who disagree should move South and NEVER the two shall meet. But that is not how things will work. The LEFT will then wage war against what they see as their hated opposition.

They will never be satisfied just separating. They must oppress and crush all freedom – just pick up a history book and you will see – there has NEVER been an exception to their end goal. They will never allow their opponent to just live in peace. They have no problem surrendering all their own rights as long as nobody is allowed to have the freedom to oppose their beliefs.”

Senator Kyrsten Sinema Leaves Senate Democrats

From Armstrong Economics –

“Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema has courageously announced today that she has left the Democratic Party and has registered as an independent. What is so impressive is that she is calling out the absolute corruption in our political system. She stated that she was abandoning the Democratic Party and turning her back on the “broken partisan system in Washington” that prioritizes denying the opposition party a win rather than “delivering for all Americans.”

This is precisely what I warned at the WEC. It no longer matters what anyone says that they stand for in either party. When they get to DC, they are told they will vote however the Party tells them to vote. You can run for or against Abortion or save the whales. When you get there, all that means nothing.

She is absolutely correct and this is the very reason the United States is collapsing. When Biden came to office, he went out of his way to reverse everything Trump did regardless if it was correct or not. Washington has simply become a political war where one side must vote against whatever the other wants. This has degenerated into simply war and it is no longer about the people or the country. It is about voting against whatever the opposition wants.

We need to return to this spirit of independence where a candidate actually does what they claim they stand for. As it is right now, all we have is a bunch of monkeys who need no brains and never have to do what they say they stand for because they just raise their hand when told to do so. We need to return to real Independents who will vote for what they actually run for.”

The Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity are to investigate the conduct of ACT police involved in the Higgins case.
Given their remit, which is to investigate corruption in Federal agencies, this would seem to be a massive over-reaction.

Perhaps it does seem an over reaction Wodger, but when you need to open a walnut and all the other methods have failed, then you need to get something that will do the job, not just give the impression of trying to do an investigation and conveniently failing.

Boambee John:

Not necessarily in relation to ICBMs and SLBMs. The people who design them tend towards belt and braces. The pre-GPS systems were pretty accurate, particularly if the warhead is thermonuclear.

I assume that “Thermonuclear” relates to boosted (fission/fusion) or (fission/fusion/fission) warheads, not just tactical (fission) warheads. Most of the big buggers are designed to dig ICBM silos or the Russian war fighting HQs out of the ground, as opposed to tactical warheads used against fixed targets like bridges/HQ/undispersed formations, etc.
Nevertheless, degrading a CEP of 50/100 meters to a 500 meter is going to allow a fair degree of survivability of enemy assets that need to be destroyed. I’m sure one of the targeting options would allow the US to use 1Mt instead of the Trident dial-a-yield weapons.
The point I’m trying to make is the US has gone to accurate small yield weapons over 5/10Mt Notveryaccurate Russian and Chinese weapons. This makes the loss of the GPS much more of a hindrance to the US than to Russia/China.
Unless of course the US has an alternate GP System up there and that would explain the use of the unmanned mini Shuttle thingy (whose name escapes me atm) to launch a new set of satellites about the size of a Lego Brick.
