None of the above needs to be an option on all ballot papers.
Mainly to give voters an option to not provide political parties with the taxpayer funded, AEC overseen rort per primary vote above the minimum quota.

Is there a way for it to be okay with being personally prepared to get vaccinated and being opposed to governments making lockdown decisions and road maps about getting out of government imposed lockdowns etc?

I’m for personal decisions about vaccines and zero government intervention of any kind other than making them accessible.

Happy to pay for vaccines as well.

No lockdowns no passports no border closures no nothing.

And please don’t jump down my throat because I was okay with flatten the curve in early March 2020.

The WSJ is now reporting what some independent journalists were saying for months about Afghanistan.
If Biden even knows what day it is, he’ll be particularly surly today seeing the State department has hung him out to dry.

O’Biden is going to have a massive meltdown -in public.
Why?
Because he’s bloody senile, and his missus refuses to vacate the comfy rooms in the White House while she plays at being President.
Because Harris is a complete idiot and while she will do what she’s told, xer hasn’t the emotional intelligence to do what the job needs.
The Democrats have created a Constitutional crisis in the US and haven’t a damn clue as to how it can be fixed.
Meanwhile, the State recount ball keeps rolling along and getting bigger.
If we look at the Pinochet regime and the chaotic conditions prevailing under its Socialist government, we can see the parallels. A military regime was required to get rid of the Communist chaos that enveloped the country.
Hopefully that won’t happen. Hopefully, the USSC steps in, nullifies the election, and calls for a new one.

I’ll credit Biden with following through with withdrawal from Afghanistan. It’s the right decision, executed in a appalling bungle.
Doesn’t change the fact that he is a puppet, a cheat, a pervert and a liar, and who is like a lot of Democratic politicians, who’s friends, business associates and family members die in mysterious circumstances. A ghoulish exponent of pure power politics.
Neither does it change the fact that the marxists will seize the opportunity to pump “refugees” into the west, even while the “pandemic” gives them the excuse to stop the free movements of their own citizens.

Calls to suicide crisis line at 57-year high
ANGELICA SNOWDEN

Australia’s biggest suicide support line has recorded the most calls for help it has ever received in one day, amid concerns about longterm mental health consequences of Covid-19 restrictions.

Lifeline counsellors received 3436 calls on Monday – more than any other day in 57 years. Monday was also the day that cases in NSW reached a new high of 478 – a figure since surpassed.

Covid-19 was a physical and mental health pandemic, Lifeline Australia chair John Brogden said.

“While Monday was our busiest day on record, it wasn’t a oneoff. It’s been a difficult few year for everyone in the community,” he said. “We’ve seen demand grow 20 per cent since 2019 and it continues to ramp up. Five of Lifeline’s 10 busiest days on record have occurred just this month.

“These are challenging times, it is OK not to be feeling OK.”

On August 5, 3425 Australians called the service. And on August 2, 3345 dialled the helpline in what were the organisation’s second and third busiest days respectively.

The news came after The Australian revealed eight Victorian teenage girls died by suicide in the year to July 31, up from one in the same period in 2020 and three in 2019. The rise prompted youth mental health expert Patrick McGorry to describe mental health fallout from Covid restrictions as a “shadow pandemic”.

After they endured one of the longest and strictest lockdowns in the world in 2020, Victorians faced further tough news on Tuesday – that their sixth lockdown would be extended by another two weeks, with a 9pm-to-5am curfew enforced. As NSW, Victoria and the ACT remained in lockdown, new research indicated mental health fallout may extend beyond lockdowns.

A study conducted by Monash University and the Austin Hospital and which surveyed 1157 Victorians, found poor mental health did not appear to be linked with high Covid-19 case numbers. Psychological problems did not improve as cases dropped, according to the report.

“Stability in rates of poor mental health across time and region stands in stark contrast to variation in SARS-CoV-2 infections and Covid-19 hospitalisations and deaths, suggesting that … adverse mental health impact during the pandemic may be insensitive to objective Covid-19 risk,” the report reads.

Of those surveyed, one third reported they had anxiety or depressive symptoms in September 2020. About 16 per cent – or 196 – said they wished they were dead in the past 30 days. And 110 – or 9.5 per cent – reported serious suicidal ideation in the past month.

Study co-author and Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health deputy director Shantha Rajaratnam said behavioural and lifestyle changes – sleep disturbance, reduced outdoor time and increased screen time – appeared to be risk factors for poor mental health. “We concluded there are likely to be direct and indirect effects of Covid,” Professor Rajaratnam said.

“Sharp increases reported in mental health (issues) persisted until September at least in Victoria and through to February in the US. That warrants a more sustainable government response to address these mental health problems in the community.”

Professor Rajaratnam said the report highlighted the need for improved access to mental health support services. “This study at the height of Victoria’s long lockdown, at a time when case loads were relatively low, provided us with a unique opportunity to robustly assess the indirect mental health effects of the pandemic, such as isolation, lack of certainty about income and work, homeschooling, disrupted routines and so on,” he said.

“(The Victorian 2020 lockdown) helped the rest of the world to understand what may be expected … in a situation like this and therefore what supports need to be put in place.”

Heavy drinking may impair men’s ability to recognize facial emotions (19 Aug)

Alcohol intoxication is linked to impairments in the ability to interpret other people’s facial expressions, especially in men, according to a new study. … Heavy drinking is known to have the potential to disrupt the recognition of facial expressions, leading to misinterpretation. This may in turn contribute to inappropriate behaviors.

All you need to do is kill the politician who imprisoned you. Choice of method up to you. You might even be able to take down half a dozen before you get caught, which could be quite satisfying. Not that I’m recommending violence, of course, oh dear me no. Perish the thought.

Matt Taibbi has unlocked his column on Obama.

It’s a come to Jesus column.

Worth a 5 minute read.

I know there was a love of holding up Obama as a polymath virtuoso without peer, but he always struck me as a self-worshipping poseur who so much believed he could do anything better than anyone else that it was pointless to put it to the test. Like the time he told his speechwriters that if he had decided to become one he would have been brilliant, and greater than them. And he was not berating them. Merely honouring himself.

It is why I have called him Barack von Munchausen – after the fictitious German Baron who shamelessly bragged about his unplumbed talents and impossible feats.

In Brideshead Revisited Julia Flyte despondently describes her husband, Rex, as

A tiny bit of a man pretending he was the whole.

That is what he was, and doubtless still is.

It often seems to me that there are some people with the money to afford priceless works of art, who stock a cellar with range of wines that mature like those plants that slumber for decades to bloom for only a single glorious night, who insist on bespoke clothing right down to their pyjamas, who dine at the most lavish but unlisted establishments where they can be sure to be seen by the right people, and who make a point of name dropping what places and foods what they think will impress, but never really enjoy it because they are so high on themselves. They can’t open themselves for even a moment to anything refined because there is no space left to experience it.

We have Bob Carr (Steel cut oats, anyone?)

American has Barack (Arugula) Obama.

Obama was something new. He would not be stopped by the walls of convention. Fired by an egotism unlike any that had been seen he swept everything aside to get after what ever wanted, and to his slavering mongrels he would shout “Cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of score!”

All you need to do is kill the politician who imprisoned you.

There’s countless hundreds, nay thousands, of hardworking people who’ve lost everything.
It takes only one of those who’ve had their life’s work carelessly & callously pounded to dust.

They’ve lost everything, while watching the carefree class receive pay rises – many of them without having to perform any work whatsoever (eg. museum tour guides).

Losing everything generally is not sufficient for the enterprising types to exact retribution – another trigger is required. If one person with some kinetic ability experiences such a trigger, the protection teams will have a day when they earn their pay.

5-Hour Capitol Bomb-Threat Standoff Ends as Man Surrenders (19 Aug)

A man who threatened to set off a bomb on Washington’s Capitol Hill surrendered to police Thursday, ending an hourslong standoff that rattled lawmakers still shaken by January’s Capitol breach.

The suspect, an apparent right-wing extremist identified by Capitol Police as Floyd Ray Roseberry, had been broadcasting live on social media from his truck, assailing President Joe Biden and Democrats, warning of a “revolution,” and complaining about the U.S. government and its policy in Afghanistan.

Given how touchy the Dems are right now he may be the first American ever to be sentenced to a thousand years in the pen.

Quillette has a very amusing story about how medical AIs are very good at extracting information about race from x-ray scans of human bodies. There are ppl arguing that the algorithms should be changed to delete this reprehensible behaviour on the grounds that race is just a social construct. Presumably, since sex is just a social construct, the ability to tell whether the body belongs to a man or a woman will also have to be deleted.

That’s true for the true believers. I think most ppl with a mild lefty bent are relatively sane and sensible, and most Muslims are too. The problem in both cases is that they are vulnerable to being pushed around by the devout true believers.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration’s “Database of Adverse Event Notifications – medicines” is searchable here – https ://apps. tga. gov. au/Prod/daen/daen-report.aspx.

When I looked at covid vaccines there this morning it stated; “Number of cases where death was a reported outcome: 429.”

Covid vaccinations began on February 22, so the vaccinations seem to be killing people faster than the disease.

Special forces soldiers who faced the sack following the Brereton inquiry into alleged war crimes in Afghanistan have been told they can stay in their jobs.

Thirteen soldiers from the Special Air Service Regiment were sent show cause notices late last year asking why they should not have their employment terminated.

The notices were based solely on supposedly ‘credible information’ of war crimes contained within the multi-million dollar Brereton report.

I would be very cranky and looking for compensation and apology. Careers ruined by “credible information”

Cardimona, the number of deaths reported is not the number of deaths attributable to a vaccine. The screen shot tells you that at the top. There is a background figure of deaths that are associated with comorbidities and with other causes than any vax taken at any given time. The death rate for AZ for instance comes in at approximately one in a million people vaxxed.

This has been well-publicised. There is enough screaming about the one in a million death from the AZ to have set Australia’s vax program behind enough to produce these awful and unnecessary lockdowns. The AZ vax is I think safer than the Pfizer, with fewer established side effects, and it is looking, on the Israeli vs the UK hospital data, as having a slighly longer lasting provision of immunity vs Delta strain.

My 18 year old grandson rang today to say he had seen a doc and taken the AZ vax, along with his same age girlfriend. I was rather relieved that he had the AZ as I am more concerned about young people and heart inflammation with the Pfizer. There is always a concern with these vaxes, but Covid can be worse by a long shot.

Elizabeth (Lizzie) Beare
Elizabeth (Lizzie) Beare
August 20, 2021 7:09 pm

My grandson, btw, was left to decide for himself re whether to take a vax or not.
I did tell him his risk of severe Covid was not at all high and to check the figures for his risk profile. But he made his own decision, probably on the basis of not wanting to infect his girlfriend’s parents, who have kindly made him welcome in their home on a live-in basis.

I am a bit heart-in-mouth when it comes to vaxxing the under 20’s with such new vaxxes, but accept that may have to be done to control the Delta strain and other likely strains. However, younger individuals who don’t want to have the vax should not be made pariahs because of that.

Lovely day here, pruning with a batch of young backpackers. All born this century, all from NSW… tall as young kids are these days, maybe a bit soft, but conscientious and happily having a go.
Chatting away- one youngster is trading crypto on a phone app, a young girl’s dad works for the ABC but her mum can’t stand them, another kid travelled to California for a junior surf heat before things went t!ts up and reckoned that the US in 2019 was heaven on earth. They’d all had year 12 behind a screen for periods, had school balls cancelled, and had deferred uni because they couldn’t face the heartless prospect of doing it via laptops.
They were facebooking with mates back east, and anyone remaining was hating life. They all hated the government, thought that batflu was a snow job, the vax was for suckers, the lockdowns were harsh and pointless, the exceptions made for the high rollers were rotten, and exposed the ruling class for hypocrisy and cant.
They even gave me a “Another thing you don’t hear much about anymore all of a sudden”- lack of any support-line announcements at the end of news items announcing the tragic death of another WZV victim, whose image and name are not used for cultural reasons. The culture being, the media do not want a questioning or sceptical culture in it’s audience, and will memory-hole any dangerous information for another eighteen months or eighteen years, rather that lose face or relinquish clout.
I didn’t have to red-pill any of them- unlike the low-rent Dutch and Spaniards it was massive fun. Restored my faith in the next gen. I hope they vote, en bloc, for the Lib Dems.

Medical staff have said they are finding it difficult to summon up the appropriate sympathy for them. There is a huge public groundswell against the unvaxxed, particularly as kids go back to school next week after more than a year away from a classroom. I fear it could get nasty. Their back neighbours, who did not, LITERALLY, leave their house for a year, had a birthday party for one of their grandchildren last weekend. However, since two of their other grandchildren have not been vaccinated, they were not allowed in the house. The “party” was held at a park, with everyone wearing masks. Sad.

WA and OR are both cold northern, solidly Democrat. I’d have thought they’d be among the most vax’ed population in the US, in states with a solid private health system too.
I often thought in the last eighteen months that I’d like to see some custom maps- coof cases reported overlaid with political party administrating would be telling I reckon. Don’t know anyone both interested and willing to put it together?

Diana launches Category A air machine gun capable of “full auto” fire, in new .9mm calibre! Revolutionary design ensures it is legal on a Cat A licence

By Morgan Knutz – July 7, 202151409

Air rifle maker Diana has announced a revolutionary 0.9mm air gun that combines the firepower of a machine gun with ammo characteristics of a shotgun, and it’s a Category A firearm in Australia.

The new Diana Model 96 MPG (or Mouse Plague Gun) uses a cartridge not unlike a shotgun shell to hold 100 0.85gr 0.9mm projectiles that are fired in a single, continuous line down the rifled barrel using gas pressure from a canister.

The action works in a semi-automatic fashion, which is quite legal under Category A air gun laws, but Diana points out that by repeatedly squeezing the trigger the shooter can release thousands of projectiles in successive hundred-round bursts, spraying an area with deadly effect.

Diana says the incredible new weapon was developed specifically to help Australian farmers deal with the mouse plague, and tests have shown it can mow down swarms of rodents in a shed without damaging fodder or implements.

The inspiration for the MPG was a direct result of COVID-19 lockdowns here in Australia.

“During lockdown, an accountant from our Australian distributor was using her Diana .177 air rifle in her back yard to shoot cane toads,” a spokesman for Diana said.

“It was the only hunting she could do. She sent a photo — she looked very funny in camo under the Hills hoist.

“When a mouse appeared, she shot it and that made her think of the farmers suffering in the mouse plague.

“That’s when she came up with a new calibre of air gun, which we call the .9 COVID, suitable for tiny rodents, but she knew a break-action air rifle would be as effective in a mouse plague as Scott Morrison in a windstorm of COVID germs.”

The employee realised that under Australian law, semi-auto air-powered firearms are Category A. She took her idea to Diana’s engineers who further developed it until they could legally mimic the effect of fully automatic fire.

The Australian Government has fast-tracked approval of the new Diana so that farmers will at last have an effective weapon to use against the millions of mice infesting their properties.

“Usually we rely on carefully placed anti-gun bureaucrats to ensure nothing new gets through, but in this case we’ve used a combination of forced leave and temporary promotions to get them out of the way, so approval was granted this morning,” said a spokesperson for the Attorney-General’s Department.

The Nationals have called for the weapon to immediately be outlawed.

“We can’t allow weapons of mass destruction to proliferate in our streets,” a party spokesman said.

He said they were looking for ways to bring back Tim Fisher to lead their campaign.

Yes, of course it’s satire — but if only …

I nearly shot one once when he ducked under a bazaar counter to get his drink bottle. Which they had been told not to put anywhere but in plain sight.

Was it an assault bottle?
You can’t be too careful…

My mate Dan’s fit sister died unexpectedly after being fully vaccinated.
Here’s yesterday’s Cairns Post story about her, followed by today’s story.
I talk to the journo via email occasionally (about ruinables in Douglas Shire) and I’ve sent him two thumbs up for today’s piece.

Shock loss of teacher

A FAR North family is devastated after the sudden death of a fit and healthy 45-year-old mum who collapsed on a Cairns street returning from a jog.

Freshwater State School teacher Sara McCarthy was found unconscious on a footpath and rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital, where she underwent emergency blood clotting procedure related to a stroke.

She slipped into a coma and died on Friday.

Her death has stunned her loving family, friends and the school where she was “well loved by staff, students and admired by all.”

Ms McCarthy – a mother of two – was almost back at her front gate after a 10km run when tragedy struck.

She was in training for a half marathon.

Her heartbroken brother, former KAP candidate Daniel McCarthy, said the family was in a state of shock.

“We are devastated,” he said.

“There are many hearts and lives that she has touched and influenced in a positive way.

“The outpouring of grief across the community just goes to show what a wonderful person Sara was.”

Mr McCarthy said his sister was an inspiration to her children, family, friends and colleagues in 2019 when she lost 58kg following the death of their mum. She had transformed herself into a supremely fit athlete.

“She did an amazing job through hard work and discipline,” Mr McCarthy said.

He said the circumstances into her death were gut-wrenching. “She had a stroke while she was running,” he said.

“Someone found her and rushed her to the hospital. She slipped into a coma on the way down to the Gold Coast and never came out.”

Tributes are pouring in for the “best mother” who was “loved fiercely” by her two children Georgia, 14, and Jack, 12. She was the youngest of four siblings.

“This sudden loss has shocked our community, and we want Georgia and Jack to know they have our immediate and ongoing support,” her friend Katie Williard said.

“Sara always provided opportunities for her kids, helping them to become the independent and confident people they are today, and we know she would want them to continue doing the things they love in her absence,” she said.

Probe into jog death
MARK MURRAY

FRIENDS, family and colleagues of a fit and healthy Far North primary school teacher have called for an investigation into her sudden death.

Cairns mother-of-two Sara McCarthy had a stroke and collapsed after a jog on August 4.

The 45-year-old (right) was flown to a Gold Coast hospital where she had emergency blood clot procedures but never recovered. She died on Friday, August 13.

Ms McCarthy – who was training for a half marathon – had complained of severe back pain leading up to her death. She had been fully vaccinated, having her second dose of Pfizer on July 28.

Federal health authorities have issued a new warning to the product information of the Comirnaty (Pfizer) vaccine and possible “inflammation of the heart” and “of the membrane around the heart” as a rare side effect of the jab which may occur “within 10 days of vaccination”.

The conditions, known as myocarditis and pericarditis, can in severe cases lead to stroke or heart attack due to blood clots forming in the heart.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration has received 188 reports of suspected myocarditis and/ or pericarditis following vaccinations with Pfizer as of August 15. A spokeswoman said there had been no reported fatal cases of myocarditis in Australia as being linked to the Pfizer dose.

News Corp is not suggesting Ms McCarthy died as a result of the Pfizer vaccine, only that there are investigations into possible links between its side effects and, in rare cases, stroke and other heart conditions.

“She had extreme back pain on the same day she had the second Pfizer shot,” friend Kate Willard said. “Sometimes extreme pain can be an indicator of stroke, but we just don’t know.”

A Queensland Coroners Court spokesman said Ms McCarthy’s death had been reported to the Northern Coroner “and will be investigated accordingly”.

Ms McCarthy’s brother, Daniel Mc-Carthy, said the exact cause of his sister’s death was in the hands of the coroner.

“We need to wait and let the experts do their job, and we’ll deal with whatever the outcome is,” he said.
