It appears the tactic of riot police is to charge towards groups of demonstrators.
Half a dozen tactical officers fired tear gas and rubber bullets to separate a group around midday.
Social media footage showed officers advance on the group with bystanders caught in the middle of the chaos.
Victorian Police Commissioner Shane Patton warned authorities will have a different approach to disperse the rally compared to Monday and Tuesday’s protests.

Victoria Police have started moving in on protesters as they stage another day of action in Melbourne’s CBD.
On Wednesday, people arrived at the CFMEU headquarters on Elizabeth Street and were again met by a huge police presence.
Officers started arresting people including one man a block away from the headquarters who was bleeding from the head.
Dozens of uniformed police, riot police and the mounted branch then surrounded the intersection and a large group of protesters started again marching through city streets.
Police started moving in just before midday and the crowd turned around and ran in the other direction and headed towards Flinders Street.

Story circulating that things arced up at Casa Setka the other day after there was mention of someone having a gun.
Dunno if this is fact or fiction, but saw on Social Media that the talk of weapons came from inside the building, from Setka’s knuckleheads, intended to intimidate those outside.
When it was reported, it was clearly implied that the alleged weapon was in the hands of protesters.
“Police moved in after fears were held for the safety of those inside the building when there were reports of someone with a weapon at the rear of the building”.
A quick thought, for what it’s worth: Looking at the brief clip of a Vikpol officer with a longarm aggressively approach a bloke in hi-vix standing calmly on a nature strip, while it’s difficult to judge distance from where the camera was positioned, Vikpol seemed as bit reckless about proximity. A less calm tradie might have taken a half-step forward, grabbed the weapon, and hey ho, you have a struggle. More become involved on both sides, weapon gets discharged in someone’s face. How long till this happens?

The man who was hit by the pepper ball was on the footpath surrounded by five police. He was saying that he couldn’t breathe – there was a strong whiff of tear gas about, according to Avi. He was able to get on an elbow and that showed his facial injuries. There were two women waiting there with him along with the police – were told to move on but nothing doing, they were staying.
Avi then went on to talk to the young Israeli women (astonishing, I know):).
If this was the man they are talking about, and in close proximity to Avi, he must have had a turn for the worse. Or…it’s all a bit of embroidery.

I think Avi has footage of the rubber bullet attack. When I tuned in, a guy was on the ground with numerous black shirts standing around. Avi said the guy’s head was bleeding and I think he said the bloke copped the rubber bullet in the eye.
Still, the death has to be verified.

The Sky reporter just said that there’s more people at The Shrine now than at the last Anzac Day – says a lot.
The Hawthorn(?) RSL sub-branch has put out an statement saying The Shrine is not a place to protest and that it is a sacred place that commemorates those who fought and died for our freedom – obviously no self-awareness in that statement.

For my part I have seen over the past year and a half how our governments have stumbled from one blunder to another, still using the solutions now that did not work last year, and stuck with the fact that infection rates are unaffected by vaccine rates.
Now that they have the vaccine they are making that the issue. Our emergence from these idiotic lockdowns is now vaccination numbers and the persistent case numbers, hospitalisations and deaths are being mentioned only as they work to the goal of vaccinations.
They finally realised ‘zero cases’ was not doable, and that there was no strain on the health system to be relieved.
