Geez, dot, lessee. A 100% chance of death from cancer from some even high risk of death or serious injury from a vaccine vs a sub 1% chance of dying from a seasonal flu vs unknown risks of an untested vaccine.
Not exactly the same thing.

David Jones in Bondi Junction has closed off it’s side door and curtained off it’s entrances on each floor to funnel everyone through a vaccine checkpoint. That is the world we now live in.

Yes, husband and I are finding the same. Virtually all major stores (except Bunnings) are requiring Vax passports. We were lucky in completing an addition to farmhouse & furnishing it, before this crap. At the moment we can obtain food (& alcohol!), livestock supplies, fuel, farming equipment, nursery plants, pharmacy items, conduct business at the bank, go to the tip, and obtain reasonable takeaway lunches on visits to the town. That will do for now.

I am doing a reasonable job of cutting our hair, and we have, at the moment, few other requirements.

We are determined to see this out. We have travelled all over the world (and most of Australia) over our lifetime & have very little left in our bucket list. We have a house in Sydney which is locked up & good neighbours keep a watch over. We miss our family a great deal & city friends. But we have very supportive country neighbours & friends, which has been vital over the last 9 months.

I have spent every waking hour (when not doing farm & house work) researching the vaccines and seeking out the dissenting virologists, immunologists & epidemiologists. As I’m sure most of the Cats have also done. Whenever anyone condemns my position as uninformed, I offer them my list of about 30 eminent experts, including Nobel Prize winners, as evidence of the opposing position. I’m damned if uninformed politicians or bureaucrats and/or evil autocrats will coerce me with fear or incentives to be vaccinated with an experimental and proven ineffective (in the long term) vaccines which have caused known, and unknown, injury.

Emeritus Prof. Bob Clancy reckons pandemics never last for more than a couple of years.
In the meantime with the assistance of good food, daily Vit C, D3, Zinc & Quercetin & LOTS of exercise, we will hopefully keep fitter than most our age. If we by very bad luck contract the damn thing, we have the recommended protocol at hand.

But we will NEVER forget the spite shown towards genuine dissenters. Nor will we ever forget the careless deprivation of our liberty and democratic rights by the political and bureaucratic classes. WE will NEVER trust them again. The divisions are drawn.

Ex-Alitalia flight attendants strip off uniforms in protest

Dozens of former flight attendants from defunct Italian airline Alitalia stripped off their uniforms Wednesday, wearing only undergarments in a silent, choreographed protest in central Rome.

Long financially ailing, Italy’s decades-old airline flew its last flight on October 14. A new airline, ITA, began flying the next day, using some of Alitalia’s aircraft. It also bought the Alitalia brand, but it is taking on fewer than 3000 of Alitalia’s 10,000 employees.

Union officials say those who will work for ITA are being hired at significantly lower pay scales.

Some 50 former flight attendants stood in rows in a square atop Rome’s Capitoline Hill, lowered their company shoulder bags to the cobblestone pavement, then slowly and in synch, removed their overcoats, then uniform jackets, then skirts, then stepped out of their high-heeled shoes.

They remained barefoot, wearing only a slip, in silence for a few minutes. Then they carefully gathered up their garments and shoes and together shouted, “We are Alitalia!”

Union leaders have been pressing for the government to extend unemployment benefits for as long as five years.

Do you see the problem? The main reason that the middle income group has shrunk is that more and more Americans have incomes above the (arbitrary) cut-off point, and fewer and fewer are either “middle income” or poor.

The middle class is shrinking because we are becoming better off.

The loon nominally in charge of the USA is off the rails:

President Biden has repeated a story about an encounter with an Amtrak conductor for the fifth time – even though the man in question was already dead at the time the chat was supposed to have taken place.

The president recalled the encounter with Angelo Negri on Wednesday during an appearance touting his ‘Build Back Better’ infrastructure plan in his native hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania.

He claimed their chat about him traveling two million miles by rail had happened in the seventh year of his vice presidency – 2015 – even though Negri retired from Amtrak in 1993, and died in 2014.

The president is known to have told the same story on four prior occasions, with the first known instance while campaigning to be president in October 2020.

JC murder trial: Court hears ‘reckless, thoughtless’ actions of accused police officer cost woman her life
The West Australian
Thu, 21 October 2021 5:51PM
Emily Moulton

The “reckless and thoughtless” actions of the police officer who drew his gun on an armed Yamatji woman in Geraldton not only deprived his colleagues of any tactical advantage they had, but they also cost a “disturbed and vulnerable” mother-of-one her life.

That was how Director of Public Prosecutions Amanda Forrester SC summed up her case against the constable who has spent the past two-and-a-half weeks on trial accused of unlawfully shooting the 29-year-old woman, known only as JC for cultural reasons.

The young officer is the first WA policeman to be charged with murder in almost a century after he fired a single bullet into the stomach of JC while she was holding a knife and a pair of scissors on Petchell Street, Rangeway on September 17, 2019.

Eight officers swarmed the area that evening after police received reports of a person wandering the streets armed with the weapon. Three got out of their cars but the accused, who we cannot name, was the only one who drew his gun.

He claims he only fired his gun after JC raised the knife and moved towards him. But prosecutors say JC had stopped and was not moving in the seconds before she was killed.

In her closing submission, Ms Forrester told the jury – which has the task of deciding the fate of the constable – that from the moment he jumped out of the car and drew his firearm he “escalated” the situation.

She said he failed to communicate with his colleagues, one of whom was already approaching JC, and decided, despite being the second most junior officer there, that he was best placed to take charge.

She explained Senior Constable Adrian Barker, who was first to get out of his car and decided to approach JC unarmed believing he could talk her down, had a strategy and was in the midst of carrying it out when the accused pulled his gun.

“The accused went in so fast he deprived himself of the capacity to scan the scene,” she added.

She highlighted that throughout the course of the trial the defence had painted the accused as the only officer who was “brave enough to do what needed to be done”.

Be an honor you could do without – the first Western Australian cop charged with murder in nearly a century.

Take Musk, supposedly the richest mad in the world. How do you define rich in this instance? I bet Musk doesn’t have a huge income – at least commensurate with the “richest” person in the world.

Musk is considered rich because the stock he owns is very highly valued by investors. It’s paper money and only becomes “real” money once it’s realised.

Musk’s entrepreneurial journey stretches back decades. He made his first fortune after selling Zip2, a software firm, to Compaq in 1999 for a reported price of more than $300 million. Three years later Paypal, which he also cofounded, was acquired by eBay for $1.4 billion.

The South Africa native founded SpaceX in 2002 and joined Tesla in 2004; the firms quickly exhausted most of his PayPal earnings, according to a 2015 Musk biography.

Remember that Chinese emperor who was buried with the terracotta army? Well, they went from that to a collapse of the dynasty under his son:

Qin dynasty collapse
Although Qin managed to suppress most of the nationwide rebellions, they still caused serious damage. Qin’s manpower and supplies were greatly reduced. Finally, Qin was decisively defeated at the Battle of Julu. Qin Er Shi foolishly tried to have the Qin general responsible, Zhang Han, killed, which led to the surrender and later to the live burial of 200,000 Qin troops. In total, Qin lost over 300,000 men. Even then, Qin Er Shi failed to take the defeat seriously, as he thought that Qin had many more spare troops. Finally, a daring and loyal eunuch told Qin Er Shi the truth. Shocked, Qin Er Shi tried to capture Zhao Gao and to hold him responsible.

Zhao Gao, however, had expected that Qin Er Shi would ask him to take the blame. Therefore, Zhao Gao conspired with his loyal soldiers to force the emperor to commit suicide. Surrounded and with no means of escape, Qin Er Shi asked the loyal eunuch why he had not told the truth earlier. The eunuch replied that it was Qin Er Shi himself who had decided to execute anyone who would tell him the truth.

In 207 BC, the Qin dynasty collapsed only fifteen years after its establishment

Hold up.

How are we defining poverty?

I guess, relatively.

There’s relative and absolute poverty.

Well, yes.
Remember the “Henderson Poverty Line”?
It was always relative.
The line was set such that x% were always considered to be in poverty.
And the ABC would dutifully report every year that, sadly, x% were still living below the poverty line.
As are x% of people Monaco.

But they still have to get their business on a correct setting otherwise they will go broke. Business can be as woke as it wants but ultimately their TCE (tangible common equity) is limited. They have behave or the market will destroy them.

In any event there is a huge and very healthy private equity sector in the US where the goals are simply to make money or fuck off.

ch. Though this morning it was fun when I went for walk around foreshore and the local pied butcherbird family saw me. Six of them came flying in attack formation.

Our two Currawongs both want to eat out of our hand now, Bruce, but I resist that and place it on the balcony outside the glass, where there is plenty of room to land. Those raptor beaks could do damage and I don’t need any more antibiotics right now. Hairy braves the hand-feeding though and then races to the terrace room to see it delivered into the mouths of the two fledgies who are huge. Not cuckoos, just well-feed Currawong chicks. In addition to our pork mince this diligent pair of parents are constantly pushing nature’s bounty of wriggling things down the fledgies’ necks. They both know my voice very well now. I can call them down. It feels like a special power.

Sad about your one with the broken leg. I often wonder about the one I saw who had his legs eaten away by a fungus or mite when we were feeding a lot of them last season. I only saw him twice. The crows keep a lookout for the weaker ones. I guess they have to eat too, and no-one feeds the crows. They act like outcast birds, genetically honed as that, and never try to be friendly.

Our Purgatory Is Their Nirvana – Victor David Hanson
https://amgreatness.com/2021/10/20/our-purgatory-is-their-nirvana/

Sheer chaos and anarchy on the border?

Afghanistan—the most humiliating defeat in recent U.S. military history?

A labor-starved supply chain in shambles and holiday shelves emptying out?

The worst inflation in 30 years that seems soon ready to match Carter-era levels?

Gas hitting $5 a gallon with winter heating fuels soaring?

Free-for-all looting in the major cities without consequences?

Joe Biden’s policies and Biden himself diving in the polls?

Never in recent American history has any administration birthed such disasters in its first nine months.

Yet most Americans are arguing not over the sheer chaos and disasters of the Biden Administration, but rather how could such sheer pre-civilizational calamity occur in modern America?

Were these disasters a result of historic incompetency? Or mean-spirited nihilism? Or a deliberate effort to create the necessary turbulence to birth a new American revolution? Or a bit of all three?

Start instead with the idea that what most Americans see as sheer ruin is not what the left-wing puppeteers, who are pulling the strings of the Biden marionette, see.

Our catastrophes are their minor glitches. For them bad polling is mostly a public relations problem of an occasional uncooperative media. Otherwise, a few broken eggs are always necessary to create the perfect socialist omelet.

The Left now controlling Washington believes that the U.S. border is a mere construct. Every impoverished person has a birthright to cross into America illegally. The 2 million who are scheduled to enter this fiscal year alone is a wonderful, if occasionally sloppy, event.

Our border calamity is their celebration of humanity and a long-overdue recalibration of ossified American demography, one that will properly warp the Electoral College to provide the necessary election result.

If you believe that a culturally imperialistic America needs to be taken down a notch overseas, then the flight from Afghanistan is “impressive” and a “success”—by how quickly and efficiently we skedaddled.

Why worry about a lost $1 billion embassy, a $300 million refit of the Bagram airbase, or $80 billion lost in military hardware and training?

Empty shelves? Boohoo.

Grasping, upper-middle-class consumers are angry that the working classes are not willing to risk COVID infection to supply them with their accustomed holiday trinkets.

So, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg intoned that the shortages mean only that the consumer class has to wait a wee bit—until Christmas Eve—to splurge on gifts.

Who worries about a little inflation? Under new monetary theory, printing dollars brings prosperity. Or as White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain put it in a retweet, inflation is a mere “high class problem” of the Peloton elite.

Only those with money worry their ill-begotten pile shrinks. But the majority without money will eventually rejoice that it is everywhere now—finally and properly “spread,” as former president and now multimillionaire Barack Obama once promised.

As AOC swore, gas and oil are going to be gone anyway in 10 years. So, if Joe Biden slashes over 2 million barrels a day in U.S. oil production, what’s wrong with that?

Didn’t Steven Chu, Obama’s energy secretary, long ago brag that when we hit $8-10 a gallon, we’d approach European levels of proper fuel usage? Why whine about paying over $100 to fill up, when the planet more quickly cools?

Did not Americans learn “critical legal theory” and “critical race theory”?

Or as the architect of the “1619 Project” reminded us, destroying or taking someone’s property is no big deal. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey shrugged off torched downtown buildings; such torched stuff, he said, is mere “bricks and mortar.”

It is only a crime to “steal” over $500 of needed merchandise from a Walgreens in San Francisco, because the rich who make such absurd laws never have to steal goods from a pharmacy shelf.

If racists wish to point out that African American male youths are disproportionately represented in the latest crime wave, then maybe America should be learning not to create the conditions that force them to break the law.

In sum, we are on a left-wing roller coaster headed to a socialist nirvana.

Most Americans believe it is instead an out-of-control “Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride” nightmare with incompetents at the wheel.

But the architects of such “hope and change” shrug that the occasional disturbing news that the media sometimes accidentally leaks out is merely the cost of an equitable America.

One man’s anarchy is another’s road to justice.

Keep that mentality in mind and the absurdities that are mouthed by Joe Biden, his advisor Ron Klain, press secretary Jen Psaki, Homeland “Security” Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, or the ravings of the Squad, make perfect sense.

They are merely trying to explain to us dummies that what we think is purgatory is actually the new paradise—a promised land that, once we are properly programmed and educated, we too will welcome and thank them for our deliverance.

Bruce in WA
October 22, 2021 12:39 am

From my piddly blog. Written two months ago —— but what has changed??

Lockdown, locked-up and pissed-off!

This “killer” virus has caused havoc across the world — and even in our tiny corner of that world. Let me say straight off I think the media have shamelessly exploited and manipulated the reporting and consequent fear of this virus. Don’t get me wrong; I’m not one of these “Oh, it’s just the flu” supporters. No, it’s NOT good, but the media are pushing the doom, gloom, crisis, pandemic bow wave for just one reason — to sell print or airtime.

And the pandemic they have shamelessly pushed is “fear”: fear of the virus, fear of the vaccine, fear of NOT being vaccinated, fear of those who choose to not be vaccinated. And the end result is people I know, who are normal, sane intelligent people, are scared — shit scared! They are happy to be “locked down”; happy to be in isolation; happy to have “strangers” forcibly locked out of the state; happy to see any form of human rights washed down the gutter — as long as they are “safe”.

And the hate that churns and bubbles in these people. Protestors? “Lock them away, for good”, “Give them the virus and see how they feel”, “Make them work in a Covid ward until they catch the virus, then deny them any medical treatment”. That’s paraphrasing, but all true. It’s frightening.

And the police response? Crush any protest. OC spray anyone who protests, even kids. Arrest people, especially pregnant five-foot mums, for posting their objections on Facebook. Arrest people sitting in a park, surrounded by fuck all and no-one, for not wearing a mask and having a rest from “exercising”. Use hard rubber/plastic shot from an M-14 facsimile at close range into people who have done nothing other than say, “We protest”. In Australia! MY Australia! No, I take that back … it’s no longer my Australia.

So, you say, I’m one of those anti-vaxxer lunatics? Nope. Weighed the pros and cons, given my age and medical history, and had my two AZ needles. That was months back. Would I do the same now? I’m not sure; let’s just say the jury is out.

So where do I stand? Let me say this: We will NEVER “crush” or “defeat” CV-19. It is here to stay, like it or lump it. Yes, we will possibly need yearly “booster” shots, like the flu. Yes, it will continue to mutate, but each mutation, while it becomes perhaps more infectious, should make it less virulent. (Terms our media either don’t know or deliberately ignore.)

No matter what, I believe we are approaching the situation where the pressure valve has been overtightened. Unless there is (very soon) a perceived way out of this present way of living, there is going to be an explosion of trouble that no-one wants.

This 80% – 90% vaccinated crap is just that — crap. Open up. Yes, people will die. Mostly, people like me — old, with medical problems. So? If it means my kids and grandkids can enjoy the sort of freedom and life I’ve enjoyed, bring it on!

I’m too pissed off to post any more. Maybe later. Perhaps. If I keep this blog going. Why would I? The fun of living has gone.

The Beginnings

“Mary Postgate”– A Diversity of Creatures

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late
With long arrears to make good,
When the English began to hate.

They were not easily moved,
They were icy-willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the English began to hate.

Their voices were even and low,
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show,
When the English began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd,
It was not taught by the State.
No man spoke it aloud,
When the English began to hate.

It was not suddenly bred,
It will not swiftly abate,
Through the chill years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the English began to hate.

Just read the latest Directions from our glorious leaders (All hail our glorious leaders!).

What a dystopian nightmare we are living in!
My God, are we really there?

Quite apart from the sickening implications of a term like “vaccinated economy”, how can anyone conduct daily life trying to adhere to such confusing, long winded and haphazard directions? I’d be surprised if any ‘authorised officer’ could reel off these rules by heart, let alone enforce them.

Everyone’s going to need keep this 46 page document handy as a ready reference. FMD.

https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/202110/Open%20Premises%20Directions%20-%2021%20October%202021.pdf

I see they’re targeting kids…unless both parents are vaccinated – low bastards.

It’s difficult believe we are really here. A ‘structure’ by which politicians can ‘unperson’ someone they see as undesirable. A ‘structure’ that Dan admitted the other day, that he had no intention of tearing down.

At the risk of upsetting people, I’ll say this: it only happened because sufficient numbers got vaccinated to make a second economy viable. Critical mass was essential.

You may not like that statement. You may think it unfair because people chose to do so on health grounds. However, Dan as much as admitted it the other day when he laughingly stated that the holdouts were now largely irrelevant to the economic good of Victoria, and that the sheer mass of the vaccinated economy would roll clean over them. They were relegated to expendable status.

Unless people just refuse to play along, we are now going to live our lives constantly referring to 50 page PDFs, for the most basic activities. Looking some of the density requirements, you may have to tote a calculator and measuring tape, too.

When Covid is declared under control, the ‘structure’ will be utilised for other things. Punishment was once focused on detention, then it morphed into primarily financial penalties. Financial penalties only work when you’ve got financial resources to lose. This new structure gives them the best of both worlds, they can do away with much of the expense of physical gulags prisons, and they can readily punish those who have nothing much to their names.

I’m embarrassed and ashamed that it’s happened on my watch. I don’t think I’ve ever desired to not be on this earth, quite as much. Humanity is on the decline.

My God, are we really there?

Mater, it was only a matter of time. Victoria is the world capital of Year Zero communism which has incubated at least two long-term mass behaviour modification projects embedded in giant government insurance monopolies: tWorkcover and he Transport Accident Commission (which I openly bosting that it plans to become the world’s first jurisdiction to abolish the road toll, ever since the 1034 campaign in the 1970s, spearheaded by the Herald Sun predecessor the Sun News Pictorial, which campaigned to reduce the annual road toll from more than 1000 to the current level of around 300, which isn’t achieved anywhere else because no other jurisdiction fines its citizens so heavily for breaking road rules – $A300-500 million p.a. from memory – and spends hundreds o f millions of dollars a year on behaviour-modification advertising;.

Then there is Workcover, the government insurance monopoly for workplace safety now backed up with the world’s most business-unfriendly workplace laws, under which company directors and executives can be sent to jail for infriugements.

Jointly, TAC and Workcover are massive Year Zero communist dreamings about using government money and resources to perfect the human race. Victoria is wet dream for the socialist nanny states of Europe that never stopped pushing the boundaries of what the public will tolerate.

Through its government and education systems, It has been an incubator for the current wild-eyed government fascist totalitarianism for at least half a century when (Liberal) premier Dick Hamer put to death the old Boltean tradition that the Liberal Party represented small business and farmers. In the 1970s, the LNP in Victoria became the party of the sneering inner-urban elites.

Don’t you think people can see your statements are just bitchy emotional nonesense?
Some might have the brains to STFU at the stage or embarrassment you’re at…….but not you.

Please stop projecting, Struth.

It is embarrassing to watch you make yourself smaller with your every denouncement.

I am making clear statements. The people that got jabbed and are now using their passports are dead c…nts.

Incorrect. You are engaging in petty emotional abuse of the many people who honestly felt they were doing the right thing by themselves, their loved ones and their futures.

That their assessments of the intentions of the governments and CEOs that railroaded them into it was regrettably naïve is not yours to judge.

They are offended hearing the truth.

No Struth. In your fear and anger, your have become an unsympathetic and abusive absolutist. And you have decided that people like us (who often tend towards agreeing with your sentiments) are safer and easier targets for your ire.

I sincerely hope that you do not suddenly find yourself without friends and support when things truly turn bad, because you were eagerly burning your bridges with everyone you felt was less dedicated than yourself…

“But Dr. Tour’s goal is far beyond accomplishing things of mere scientific interest. His research areas include carbon nanovectors for medical applications, green carbon study for environmentally friendly oil and gas extraction, water purification, hydrogen storage and more. He has even developed science curriculum for K-12 students.

One of his most promising studies involves fusion of a separated spinal cord. “We’ve developed a material where we can take a split spinal cord of a rodent, put one drop of the material on it, and then put it back together,” he said. “In that one drop, there is one percent of graphene nanoribbons. The nanoribbons will align longitudinally with the spinal cord. And then what happens is that the neurons grow from top to bottom, and then from bottom to top. Without the graphene nanoribbons, they just miss each other. So, two weeks after the surgery, the rodent can walk just fine. It scored an 18 out of 21 in mobility, with 21 being perfect mobility. In three weeks, it scored a 19, able to run and do most everything that it was doing. This particular rodent had still a little bit of a curl in one of its paws. But hopefully we’ll get better at that.”

In John 14:12, Jesus says, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things that these, because I am going to the Father.” Tour aims to do just that. “We’re working on restoring optic nerves where we could do whole eye transplants – something that’s never been done. We already have in our group where we’ve developed a system that can restore hearing. We want to restore walking. We want to restore seeing. We want to make the lame walk, the blind see and the deaf hear. We want to do the works of Jesus Christ.”

People have the right to get vaccinated against any disease they think has the potential to affect their health.

No one is denying that, but part of being an adult is recognising that all decisions (even rational ones) have consequences.

Soldiers regularly have to choose between their own well being and the good of the country, as a whole. Either choice is rational, both have different consequences. I’ve never been adverse to forego personal wellbeing. Other are of a different mind…or didn’t see the other side of the coin.

Everyone makes their own choices, and ultimately have to live with the consequences. At least recognise those consequences, and own them.

Tell me that Dan would’ve implemented this system if vaccination levels were stagnant at 50%. No, he wouldn’t have, because 50% non-participation in a second economy would have been unviable for most/all effected businesses, and Dan would’ve been up shit creek.

Dan and his flunkies have played this beautifully. He’s staged it perfectly so as not to startle the natives too much, and has limited the backlash by doing it piecemeal. Only after it too late, will people realise what they’ve actually been contributing too. It’s text book stuff. If it wasn’t so evil, you’d be forced to admire it.

Most are remote to people.
