Dil went into a Subway to buy a Coke.
The girl serving, no, the girl behind the counter, demanded, didn’t ask for, ID to prove she wasn’t from Melbourne.
DiL is Vietnamese, this country region is still coming to grips with non-Anglos living here.
Arriving in Aus just in time to get locked down with family, she has bugger all ‘proof of residence’.
Counter girl runs off a list of ‘proofs’ she should have on her phone.
Eventually DiL finds something acceptable and is allowed to buy her Coke.
It all took a lot longer than it would have taken to let her buy the Coke & go, so what would have counter girl done had she not provided proof of local residence, called the cops?
Today she & husband witnessed a very angry altercation with a shopper in a dept store who admitted she was from Melbourne, but demanded she be allowed to buy what she had at the checkout.
Again, this wasn’t about keeping ‘Hot Spot’ people away from ‘clean’ people (the security at the entrance could check ID there & prevent the long mingling with locals), it is set up to further angrify and terrorise people into fearing & hating each other & demanding obedience to the Dictatorial Govt’s bloody stupid mandates.

There is a lot of discussion on the net of individual cases of health care workers dying of Covid. Amnesty did a survey which shows the UK had some of the world’s highest rates, and notes considerable under-reporting of deaths – haven’t found anything on morbidities, only mortalities. Haven’t had a chance to look much today. Here are the Amnesty figures:

The UK has recorded the among the highest number of COVID-19 health worker deaths in the world, according to a new report by Amnesty International.

The 61-page report – Exposed, Silenced, Attacked: Failures to protect health and essential workers during the pandemic – shows that, with at least 540 health and social workers having died from COVID-19 in England and Wales alone, the UK is second only to Russia, which has recorded 545 health worker deaths.

Amnesty has collated and analysed a wide range of available data showing that more than 3,000 health workers have died after contracting COVID-19 in 79 countries, though the figure is likely to be a significant underestimate due to under-reporting. According to Amnesty’s monitoring, the countries with the highest numbers of health worker deaths thus far, are: Russia (545), UK (England and Wales: 540, including 262 social care workers), USA (507), Brazil (351), Mexico (248), Italy (188), Egypt (111), Iran (91), Ecuador (82) and Spain (63).

In the UK, early studies indicate that Black, Asian and minority ethnic health workers appear to be significantly over-represented in the total number of COVID-19 related health worker deaths, with some reports showing that more than 60% of health workers who died identified as BAME.

Health workers have reported serious shortages of personal protective equipment in nearly all of the 63 countries and territories surveyed by Amnesty. In the UK, a survey of more than 16,000 doctors by the British Medical Association found that 48% of the respondents reported buying PPE for their own use or using donated PPE due to a lack of supplies at their workplaces. The survey also found that 65% of doctors said they felt either “partly or not at all protected”.

Healthcare professionals across the UK were also warned not to talk about shortages in protective equipment. Almost half of healthcare workers questioned as part of a major survey by the Doctors Association UK said they had effectively been gagged and prevented from raising concerns.

Much of this relates to the pre-vaxx period too. These people were selfless and brave.

Cafe story of the day was in the afternoon. Dad kooka arrived with his two kids. One of the kids has been accepting food from my hand for a couple of weeks…he saw me and had a total brain explosion, flew down and landed on the grass right in front of me. Never an iota of such behaviour hitherto. So I knelt down and handed him some mince, whereupon he did mental doubletake “what am I doing??? Took off for the fence. It was amusing.

I remember this. I also remember thinking there’s no way I would be staying put in the South Tower after seeing what happened to the North one. I’d do the steps as soon as the first plane went in. The lower down the better I would have been feeling, and I guess that was a fairly general perception within the Tower too. It’s good that some took over authority in spite of ‘advice’ and got so many people out.

I heard that at the time.
I didn’t know about the Morgan Stanley guy giving the Port Authority the finger.
On face value, you might say that staying put was a reasonable call because of the risk of debris floating around.
But to make that call because of fear that the first tower would fall is also taking a huge risk too.
And they had a template for this already.
The 1993 van bombing had the intent of toppling one tower into the other. That could have happened too, even without a second hit.

My little mum Currawong has got herself a boyfriend. I don’t think it’s the same one as last year with whom she raised her four chicks. He seems much younger. But he’s definitely wooing her. I watched him grab some mince quickly and race over to the tree to stuff it down her throat; she was having a timid moment because the new glass balcony railing has gone in and it’s too narrow to feed birds on, so I put the meat on the BBQ side table instead. Two days ago she took it, then for a day she gave up, and now the boyfriend has shown her it is all AOK. She eats from the BBQ table now.

Victoria Police & Council officials shutdown group feeding the homeless in Melbourne

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggCO-vFVYro

Sep 12, 2021
Real Rukshan
Victoria Police & Council Officials shutdown a community kitchen providing meals for the homeless and needy in Melbourne by citing the global pandemic & lack of permits last week. In a video shared on the groups public Facebook page yesterday, the Community Union Defence League is approached by members of Victoria police who call the council to check the organisations permits.

According to comments made in the video, the organisation claims to do this regularly without an issue, however the council is not interested in showing any discretion to allow the group to continue serving meals to the homeless and needy in Melbourne.

At one point a member of Victoria Police attempts to educate the group about the Salvation Army because they are “authorised” to look after the community, hinting perhaps that other types of movements are not required to help the homeless and needy.

Prior to being shut down by the police and the council the group had served about 200 meals to the public.

This month we have also seen another local government collaborate with the police to shut down a children’s skate park, why are authorities working so hard to create disharmony within our community?

Kaye would interpret them as cord lists for him. She is just nice.
She was quite the thing, that genius. I cannot understand anything other than flashes of he musical discourse but she was quite the lady.
To be strong enough in her seventies to organise the industry in its defence against piracy, despite apalling attacks on her, and indifference from the recording nazis, speaks volumes for a musical saint.

The Cat is a little team of liberty fighters pouring the cold water of sanity on the uncontrolled madness of unfettered government.

Yes it is. But comments on The Australian that are now being allowed through more often than not (a change since some of us dumped subscription) show that there are many more of the same fighting spirit than just those few who show up here. This is a wider movement that we are part of and can help sustain.

I may have helped a little the “liberty fighters” who still have energy to fight when I dumped my Oz subscription after nearly a decade on Friday. When politely asked why, high on my list was the suffocation of diverse opinions in the comments, that and the notable change in editorial direction over the last 12 months, particularly with the Covid coverage.

They offered me all sorts of discounts and alternate publication deals as a reward for my loyalty ( bit late for that !! ) to tempt me to stay, which I equally politely declined, before finally being offered a virtually free extension for a couple of months in case my opinion of the content might change, hoping our complaints and dissatisfaction might be getting through to them, I asked if he thought they were planning some changes but he quickly backed away and understood at last I was so disgusted with their current standard and tone I wanted out now.

Sadly I don’t think it will bother them too much because they were boasting how high their digital numbers are the other day compared to their competitors, so I assume sadly there will be another ex SMH reader they have been courting, ready to take my place, especially with Ruperts rumoured climate change 180 about to begin.

Andrew Bolt seems to have got the message. He’s saying we’ve reached a turning point, whether it’s our decision what we do or our government’s and the only way forward, since everyone has already had the chance to be vaccinated, is for us to take responsibility for our own choices and our own health. Finally. Now if we could just get this idea through the premiers’ heads. It’s not that they don’t understand. The problem is that there’s another agenda in play.

How can you tell such people that if he is vaccinated why does he care if anybody else is?

More interesting, re Pfizer / BioNTech, is the question of why Pfizer, Roche, Merck, GSK, BSM all didn’t have vast mRNA divisions of their own, and had to quickly ‘partner’ and ‘aquire’ what were in 2019 failing ‘biotech’ startup so they had something to market for covid.

The loser history of mRNA poster child Moderna tells us why: 100% rejection and clinical trial failure rate for every attempt at bringing a product to market 2009-2019.

Pfizer et-al all thought their technology was a dangerous joke in 2019, and a con-job (which is saying something) because it is. The only way for it to get to market was in an environment where the authorities would give emergency approvals and turn a blind eye and not ask too many questions re clinical trials. And here we are.

Yep, also why they are threatening to raise fines if people break rules.

It’s to basically blackmail the weak & poor into dobbing in rule breakers happy to risk fines for freedom.

It makes small minded people hate those they see as having, ‘F’ You Money’, all the more, so much it blinds them to directing their anger at those in the positions that create divisions between ‘the classes’.

And yes, those, ‘I’m a sexy little dancer, fight for me boys!’, women are also often knowing, willing, deliberately used tools in the continued fracture of society.

Joel Fitzgibbon to quit parliament, reopening divisions over Labor policy focus

Joel Fitzgibbon will retire from federal parliament at the next election, with the veteran Labor MP telling colleagues he believes he has largely succeeded with his campaign to bring the party to the political centre.

NSW Labor sources said Mr Fitzgibbon had indicated his intention to leave the political arena after months of internal speculation about his future.

With the NSW branch in civil war over the decision to parachute Kristina Keneally into the safe western Sydney seat of Fowler, there is now concern the party will be vulnerable in the coalmining seat of Hunter, which Mr Fitzgibbon has held since 1996. He inherited the seat from his father Eric, who was elected in 1984. The MP’s exit will bring an end to a Fitzgibbon dynasty of 38 years.

Mr Fitzgibbon has told concerned figures within the labour movement he believes Hunter should remain in Labor’s hands under a different candidate, given the repositioning of the party since the last election. This includes a lower emphasis on progressive social issues, a change of language on climate change and a willingness from senior MPs to voice support for coal and gas.

Anthony Albanese has also shifted the party to the centre on tax policy by junking reforms to negative gearing and dividend imputation, while announcing Labor will not unwind the government’s stage three tax cuts which give relief to high-income earners.

I was married for 42rs to a pro guitar player. When we first met at the end of 1961 he loaned me an album ‘Open Fire · Johnny Mathis’.
I loved it as I still do to this day. The two guitar players were Al Caiola and Tony Mottola. So many songs on this album that I love. You check them out on youtube.
My husband was a Gibson man, but he did buy at the end of the 60’s a George Golla Starline. It suited his work at the time.

From what I understand he wasn’t much help in the recent state by-election. All his means is that whoever is running Sky News will give him a show that nobody will watch. Sky keeps trying that caper with each new Labor failed politician who then proceeds to fail at Sky as well. Who can forget such successes as Kristina Keneally or Nicholas Reece? I don’t watch Rita Panahi’s Friday show for the simple reason that I can’t stand Reece with whom they have limbered her.

September 13, 2021 5:50 am

The best arguments for my views are actually from my opponents. I mean, mine are excellent but my opponents’ trump them.

My detractors are literally forced to claim that 100 per cent of doctors – throughout all of human history – were vaccinated for essentially all contagious and harmful diseases.

Now non-lunatics would respond with “ummm, for 99 per cent of recorded history there were zero or essentially zero vaccines so how does that make any sense?” But my detractors would then stare blankly into space and then mutter some incoherent drivel about “complexity” and “non-binary”.

They then proceed to explain that taking a one time enormous dose of pathogens is 100 per cent harmless but taking tiny doses spread out over decades will kill you. Instantly.

In fact they even claim that taking an enormous dose of pathogens each and every day is harmless. Only tiny doses of the pathogens can cause any harm according to my detractors. The bigger the dose the less the danger.

This is what my detractors claim. They’re mad. But it’s not them. Until I started posting on this site they had never contemplated their ridiculous beliefs before. They *knew* they were right. Smart people said so. That was enough for them. And yet now they’re forced into said contemplation and it’s really really hard for them to explain the impossible.

Darwin Harbour has some of the biggest and quickest tides going around. Eight metre plus tides are a daily occurrence going into and across the Wet Season, and they have quite a few practice runs about this of year.

If you want to hold a doof event on a sandbar but only want to hire one boat as a ferry (not an actual ferry), best you take this into account. The NT News:

VIDEO footage has revealed the chaotic end to a Sandbar dance party as desperate revellers tried to find a way back to shore as the fast-rising high tide caught 600 punters off guard.

As the water levels rose, revellers scambled to board a boat that would bring them to safety, but chaos reigned with one man taken to hospital after a confrontation, a boat capsized and several others colliding only 400m off Cullen Bay.

The NT News understands some boat operators who brought revellers to the party asked to be paid in drugs for the return journey. Others had to pulled to safety after one boat capsized.

People were waving down passing tinnies and other fishing craft, who in the best traditions of Maritime Law* came in to pick up wet spaced-out doofers and bring them ashore. The sandbar’s about 450 metres offshore, but if you try and swim it you’ll be eaten by the crocs and sharks and stingers and stonefish.

The organisers of this well-oiled machine said the 600+ revellers could go fuck themselves:

An event organiser who did not want to be named said people are responsible for their own boating safety. “We made it super clear that everyone was responsible for their own way on and off the sandbar,” they said.

The organisers said they had a Covid-19 check-in barcode and hired a boat to ferry people on and off the sandbar.

One local doof aficionado described her encounter with real life, and in particular the realisation that tides go in and out:

Sandbar party attendee Lucy Beare^ said some boats were so full it looked they were going to sink. “It was flat all day and then the water came up so quick,” Ms Beare said.

Amused local businesses, immediately before being swamped by fizzing wet doofers also noted this reverse Dunkirk:

Owner of La Beach Fish & Chips Mal Fisher** said there was a scramble for everyone to get off the sand island.

“All the boats were bringing them all over, it looked like a movie, just people everywhere with Eskies,” Mr Fisher said.

“Details of TV star Andrew O’Keefe’s domestic violence charges revealed

Former Deal Or No Deal host Andrew O’Keefe, 49, was charged with a series of domestic violence offences over the alleged incident on Wednesday night.

TV star Andrew O’Keefe speaks after his domestic violence charges were dismissed on mental grounds at Waverley Local Court.

Embattled former television host Andrew O’Keefe allegedly “spat and scratched” his former partner during an argument at her Point Piper home last week.

O’Keefe, 49, was charged with a series of domestic violence offences over the incident on Wednesday night the details of which The Daily Telegraph can now reveal.

Police sources said it is alleged the former Deal or No Deal host visited the woman’s home and an argument ensued during which he became aggressive, before allegedly spitting at her and scratching her on the arm.

O’Keefe suffered shortness of breath and dizziness after the incident and was taken to hospital, before later being transferred to Surry Hills Police Station where he spent Friday night.

NSW police have charged him with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, contravening an AVO, and resist officer in execution of duty.

O’Keefe said he was “caught by surprise” on Saturday morning when told of the charges against him.

“I spent a night in hospital, I spent a night in jail, despite an agreement with police that would not happen,” O’Keefe told Channel 10 on the weekend.

“There is a dispute about facts, a significant dispute about the facts (of what happened on Wednesday).”

He was granted bail in Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday after a night in the watch house, and will return to court this week.”

Mr. O’Keeffe. They have altered your agreement.

Pray they do not alter it further.

Potential greatness (the NT News again):

As indie pop artist Jack River prepared to walk on stage to perform to the biggest crowd of her career, she realised she didn’t have the right song for the occasion.

The musician, festival promoter and activist, known as Holly Rankin off stage, was about to play to 80,000 students and parents assembled in Sydney’s Domain for the Global Climate Strike in September 2019. “I realised I didn’t have the song to play them that they deserved for this time and how they were feeling,” she said.

Intensifying:

As the Black Lives Matter movement grew last year and the courageous voices of Grace Tame and Brittany Higgins ignited a national conversation about women’s safety and sexual assault, Rankin knew the time was right for her new single We Are The Youth.

“I was feeling like I’m not doing my job as a songwriter if I’m not stepping up and writing about this and I can’t do my job as a human if I don’t write about the climate crisis,” she said.

Crescendo – ‘We Are The Youth’:

Rankin channelled the inspiration of protest song heroes from Neil Young and Joni Mitchell to Paul Kelly and Midnight Oil, and more recently Indigenous artist and actor Briggs, whose anthems continue to soundtrack our social conscience.

By ‘channelled’, the writer of this nonsense means ‘copied’:

“The way you gaslight hopeful teens, The way you’re stealing all their dreams, You’re making riches in your sleep, You’re acting like it’s yours to keep, I’m tired, I’m tired of silence, I’m sick, I’m sick of violence,” she sings.

Jack/Holly then complains that copying is hard:

“And it is really, really hard to put social themes into a pop song.”

Eddie’s Girl explains:

Senator Keneally acknowledged that she hadn’t lived in the electorate, but said Fowler was similar to the community of Heffron that she represented when working in state politics, which includes the suburbs of Alexandria, Kingsford and Randwick.

“It’s actually very similar in many ways,” she said. “Like Fowler, nearly half of the electorate was born overseas and another 75 per cent of the electorate had one parent born overseas.”

Well obviously. Inner Eastern Suburbs vs Far West: but in each case grateful filthy furriners make up 125% of the safe Labor electorate.

But one thing she does hit out of the park:

“The people the Fowler, the families of Fowler, deserve better,” she said, flanked by two representatives of the local Vietnamese community.

An email from George Christensen yesterday. Sorry if this has already been posted.

In a move that is equal parts idiotic and deadly, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has banned doctors from prescribing ivermectin to their patients as a preventative or treatment for the Wuhan virus (COVID-19).

It’s a move that we must fight and so I’m declaring Monday, 13 September 2021 to be a national day of action against the TGA’s decision to ban ivermectin. People should phone the TGA on 1800 020 653 to demand they reverse their decision to ban doctors from prescribing ivermectin off-label.

The Leftists and the mainstream media (but I repeat myself) have demonised ivermectin as dangerous horse medicine and it looks like it has worked, at least when it comes to the bureaucratic boffins at the TGA. But the following key facts on ivermectin put a lie to claims it is dangerous or only for animals:

Works when distributed: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8088823/

India WHO white paper: https://www.financialexpress.com/lifestyle/health/covid-19-states-ignore-who-recommendation-on-ivermectin-heres-what-doctor-who-wrote-white-paper-on-the-drug-has-to-say/2231596/

2019 CDC Memo on Ivermectin Resurfaces After Media Blasted The Drug as ‘Horse Treatment’: https://resistthemainstream.org/2019-cdc-memo-on-ivermectin-resurfaces-blows-a-hole-in-medias-narrative/

For those who do not wish to take a rushed vaccine that is only provisionally approved by the TGA (a process which “allows for temporary registration of promising new medicines and vaccines where the need for early access outweighs the risks”), ivermectin was the option for treatment. Now this option has been taken away from us.

Why? Well, the TGA gave the game away themselves when they stated that the primary reason for their decision was because they believed:

“there are a number of significant public health risks associated with taking ivermectin in an attempt to prevent COVID-19 infection rather than getting vaccinated. Individuals who believe that they are protected from infection by taking ivermectin may choose not to get tested or to seek medical care if they experience symptoms. Doing so has the potential to spread the risk of COVID-19 infection throughout the community.”
In other words, they want to force people to take the vaccine. I mean, really, you could suggest that vaccinated individuals “may choose not to get tested or seek medical care if they experience symptoms” and that this “has the potential to spread the risk of COVID-19 infection throughout the community.” Are the TGA going to ban the vaccines then? I don’t think so!

The decision to ban ivermectin can’t go unchallenged. The TGA are a government agency and are therefore beholden to the people.

That’s why you must phone the Therapeutic Goods Administration on Monday (13 September) on 1800 020 653 and demand they rescind their decision to ban doctors from prescribing ivermectin off-label. If you can’t get through or they don’t listen to you, ring them again. This is important.

I have already told both Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce and Health Minister Greg Hunt that they need to intervene and push the TGA to reverse their decision but they are an independent government authority (and don’t have to follow the direction of government ministers) so people power is definitely needed here.

Victoria embarks on vaccine blitz in schools as daily COVID-19 tally dips to 392

The initiative has been integrated into the state government’s push to get all students aged 12 and up vaccinated by the end of the school year.

The Doherty Institute Modelling Report, released in August to advise Australia’s national COVID-19 response…

The government didn’t ask the Doherty Institute to factor in those under 16, so the model treats this age group as unvaccinated. It concludes that expanding the vaccine program to 12 to 15-year-olds “has minimal impact on transmission and clinical outcomes for any achieved level of vaccine uptake”.

So, minimal impact other than maximal jabbing.

The mind of a bugman/woman/xirthing…

They have an article on the dusky lass who is in the next Bond film.
In it she displays a remarkable lack of knowledge of her own industry and how franchise films work.
https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2021/sep/12/lashana-lynch-first-female-007-i-never-had-a-plan-b-no-time-to-die

“They’re actually giving the audience what they want to give the audience. With Bond, it could be a man or woman. They could be white, black, Asian, mixed race. They could be young or old. At the end of the day, even if a two-year-old was playing Bond, everyone would flock to the cinema to see what this two-year-old’s gonna do, no?”
….
The introduction of Lynch’s Nomi is clearly part of a strategy for keeping 007 relevant in the modern world. “I think they were just looking for someone who would be able to be a match for Bond,” says Lynch. “Who would be able to stand up and be vocal and forthright and strong and able to handle a weapon, able to handle herself and not someone who takes any crap from anybody at all. Then, as it unfolded, she became this quite complicated, free, open-minded vocal human being who brings a really nice twist to MI6.”

Lynch and Waller-Bridge both pushed for extra depth in the Nomi character: that she might have struggled with her weight in the past or be having problems with a boyfriend or be on her period. How much of that makes it into the finished film Lynch isn’t saying. “I thought there might be a scene where she’s coming out of the toilet and you see her throw her tampon in the bin,” she explains. “We don’t need to make a meal out of it! But we’re in the ladies’ room, you’re going to see someone pick their nose or pull out their wedgie. Bottom line: this woman is going to be relatable.”
