Nope. It is not all calm yet. Manager can’t see in the dark to punch numbers into the keypad to his quarters. He wants me to shine my phone on it and read out the numbers too as he’s also forgotten his glasses.

Hairy comments that our arrival was like something out of Deliverance. This place is out of town near the cemetary. Noone was around and we wandered unchallenged all over the premises to eventually be met by a woman with a severe speech impediment and her late appearing male companion had so thick an accent that he was unintelligible, but whose main concern was he’d been ‘fighting the bugs for y’all’ all afternoon. What a relief that they were only ladybugs. That was the real deliverance for at first I thought he meant bed bugs.

The spreadsheet says 273,301 but registered births for 2021 is 309,996.

Someone may have been tardy updating the figures. That’s why they’re paid the big bucks.

It was at University. So possibly sandstone.

Once out of curiosity I visited those dingy corridors where the Student Union communists excreted Honi Soit fishwrap. Gyprock on side brick the other I recall. Bottom floor of the Union bldg just across City Rd from our Chemistry Building.

Could be wrong, it was forty years ago – which as it happens was about when the wall cried in agony. Never ran across Abbott there even though we were there at the same time.

Clear from the papers today that the pre hype is on to get us ready for jab no 5. Just a matter of when.

I did make a comment on Oz article. Initially approved as it showed over 40 likes. Somebody must have changed mind as subsequently rejected. Not the first time been approved, got lots of likes, then rejected.

Pity the editors don’t pay attention to the way the comments going. Looks like 70% not enthusiastic about no 5.

Can’t be said enough that the media is now part of the TGA/Govt propaganda machine.

We had our first brush with the law on today’s drive. At a 4 way intersection with some traffic lights Hairy went sailing thru a 4-way stop sign. The lights then changed just after we went thru. I think you might have been supposed to stop there first, I comment mildly, just as he looks in the rear view mirror to see the blue lights of a police car bearing down on us. We wait. They’re checking our numberplate? I suggest. Eventually a black highway patrol man fronts up and Hairy proffers his license. My wife says she thought I made an error back there, he apologises. The guy looks at me, at the license, says you’re from Australia, and I eagerly say yes, and he says that’s fine, just remember to four way stop with that sign in the US. Have a nice trip, he says, and we are left thankful that he decided not to get a bloke into further trouble with his wife.

To be honest, as the sole driver, Hairy was getting pretty tired, so it was an easily made mistake.

Apparently Tony Abbott punched a wall whilst at university in the 1970s, or some such thing. I remember their ABC and Fauxfax running with the story, the coverage was brimming with the usual progressive left hysterical bile.

So…..

An apocryphal story of Tony Abbott punching a wall back in the 1970s = evil man, not fit to be PM, hysterical MSM coverage.

Bill Shorten – married to Deb, embarked on a sordid affair with a woman named Chloe who was married to another man at the time. Chloe became pregnant with Shorten’s child, a sordid story that left several people unhappy = MSM silence.

Barnaby Joyce – married, embarked on a sordid affair with a woman who wasn’t married. This woman became pregnant = MSM hysteria.

Bill Shorten – a rape allegation surfaces from thirty years ago = MSM silence.

Christian Porter – a rape allegation surfaces from thirty years ago = MSM hysteria.

Anthony Albanese – a man who fights Tories, separated from his wife of 20 years, who how has the chutzpah to call for less divisiveness in politics, anyone remember the 1996 Parliament House riot, a riot that involved a physical attack on Parliament House, one can wonder where Albanese was when the riot was happening = MSM silence

Anthony Albanese – a man who likes to catch up for tea and bikkies with a notorious anti-Semite = MSM silence.

I’m sure you get my drift….

Daniel Andrews = MSM silence, until now. You have to wonder why, he must be losing friends although I find it difficult to imagine such a person having any friends.

As for Abbott and the wall, I suspect he kissed more girls at university than he punched walls.

‘ABC is not grooming kids’: Anderson
Staff writers
STAFF WRITERS

The ABC’s managing director has been forced to defend programming amid a clash during Senate Estimates hearings on Tuesday over a drag actor’s storytime show for children.

Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young went head to head with Liberal senator Alex Antic, when he grilled ABC boss David Anderson.

The program in question, stars actor Shane Jenek reading from a children’s book called The Spectacular Suit, about a female child wanting to wear male clothing. The program was rated G and has been heavily promoted on television and on the app.

“Why is the ABC grooming children with this sort of adult content?” Senator Antic asked.

Mr Anderson rejected the idea that the show was about grooming children, saying that is was “reading from a book that is about dressing up”.

Senator Antic pushed his point further, saying it was “Female children in male children’s clothing you think that’s not… ”

Senator Hanson-Young interjected, saying that Senator Antic’s comments were deeply offensive.

“You mean young girls wearing pants? Seriously,” she said. “Heavens above – girls wearing pants. That is the level of rubbish you are putting forward.”

Senator Antic told Senator Hanson that she was welcome to leave if she was offended by the truth that the “ABC is grooming our children.”’

Senator Hanson-Young said that grooming was a serious matter.

“It is not for being played with by conservative senators to make headlines,” she said. “Sexual assault survivors right around this country will be deeply offended, deeply offended by you playing politics.”

Mr Anderson rejected the notion that the ABC was grooming Australian children.

“We are not,” he said. “What we are doing, that is about dressing up.”

Mr Anderson agreed that transgender issues, when “people that wish to identify as a sex other than what they were born as”, involved adult concepts.

However, he said he did not accept what Senator Antic was suggesting about the storytime show.

“You are saying about somebody who is trans grooming Australian children,” he said. “That’s not, that whole story time was not about that, it was about dressing up.

Another napalm-clad freedom barracks.

Dubai building’s cladding questioned after 35-storey apartment catches fire and flames soar up the side of complex (Sky, 8 Nov)

Alarming footage from a 35-storey building on fire in Dubai has placed the spotlight on alleged dodgy cladding on the outside of the residential apartment complex.

Flames raced up the side of the tower after the inferno began at about 2:20am on Tuesday near the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.

A resident of the complex – 8 Boulevard Walk – told Associated Press authorities were due to replace the cladding after another tower suffered a similar fire on New Year’s Day 2015 but the material on the side of the building had not been replaced.

Ironic that this cladding stuff is supposed to reduce global warming because from what I see it does the opposite of that, quite ferociously.

Murray Lampard: The WA Police Academy is tough — and for good reason
Murray LampardThe West Australian
Mon, 7 November 2022.

The West Australian article on Saturday, October 22, “‘Culture of bullying’ at the police academy”, deserves a response to provide an independent view of the professional training of police recruits at the WA Police Academy.

I am privileged and honoured to be part of a small group of independent and part-time volunteers who commit their time and expertise to the incoming police recruit squads and remain with them during their 28 weeks of intensive and challenging training.

The volunteers are focused on the recruit’s individual well-being by providing sound guidance and assisting the recruits to understand community expectations in law enforcement.

Over the past two years, I have met most of the police trainers and support staff at the academy and have found them to be very professional, engaging and focused on successfully guiding recruits through an intensive and life-changing experience to their graduation.

For many recruits, joining the police academy is a confronting experience ranging from the wearing of a uniform, being part of a disciplined, professional organisation that has well-founded rules and regulations, drills on the parade ground and regular academic and physical assessments.

From my observations and the feedback from many recruits, I have never observed or been told of any “bullying or sexist behaviour” by academy staff.

What I have observed however, is that some recruits are simply not able to meet the demands of the curriculum and struggle personally with the rigours of intense training that is physically and emotionally demanding.

Policing is not a job for the faint-hearted and it requires a strength of character and commitment to meet minimum standards of competency.

Once graduated, operational officers are often confronted with people that are under the influence of drug and alcohol. They are unpredictable, often violent and officers have to make split-second decisions to keep the peace.

Officers need to display courage, be clear thinking and demonstrate sound judgement. Attending domestic violence complaints will further test junior officers who will rely on their training, compassion and confidence, all acquired at the academy.

Unfortunately, I have seen instances where recruits blame their instructors or the training program for their own failure to meet the academy requirements and benchmarks rather than look at their own attitude, performance and behaviour as the cause of their failure.

A few recruits openly challenge and question the instructors, refuse to be part of a team and want to coast along without the required effort. They not only let themselves down, but also other members of their squad.

We had our first brush with the law on today’s drive. At a 4 way intersection with some traffic lights Hairy went sailing thru a 4-way stop sign.

Had a young relative and his wife over for dinner last night.
Just returned from the USA.
He told the story about how they were driving through, I think it was Nevada and/or Utah. Roads were marked at 80 mph. They were dutifully sitting right on the limit but were being passed by other traffic within clear sight of highway patrol cars.
When they stopped for the night he commented about it at a bar they were eating at.
The explanation was that you have immunity (up to a point) there and in several neighbouring counties “unless you are carrying Californian plates”.

Cassie of Sydney

Dingle’s story is also a perfect example of telling a child at the appropriate age that they are adopted or the result of a donor. It’s a hard conversation to have but it helps the child make sense of their world.

As for the danger inherent in having so many children born from the one donor, why did no one imagine the possibilities?

Stephen Williams says:
November 8, 2022 at 7:32 am

Saul topped himself to stop uncircumcised men from thrusting and abusing him, what was he implying?

Saul is one of the interesting characters in the Bible, it is said that he was chosen as the king of all Israel as he was the tallest man in Israel, and also because he was from the Tribe of Benjamin. There was a lot of “sorry business” regarding the Benjamites at that time as the other tribes had nearly completely wiped them out in a brutal civil war.

That war occurred as a Levite priest was attacked while staying in a Benjamite village by the locals who wanted to have their way with him, he gave the mob his mistress instead and they ravished then killed and dismembered her. News of this event spread throughout Israel (the priest sent body parts of his slain mistress to all the tribal chiefs) so all the tribes went to war against the Tribe of Benjamin and they were nearly completely wiped out.

Then the tribes regretted their actions and gave their daughters to the surviving Benjamite men for wives so that the tribe could re-establish itself. This sorry business also resulted in Saul from the Tribe of Benjamin being elected as their first king rather than a descendant of Judah to whom the role of leadership was promised.

David succeeded to the throne after Saul’s demise and he was the first of the line of Judah to rule over all Israel. Prior to David’s accession, Israel was ruled by a collection of people from all the other tribes called the Judges of Israel, none of Judah’s descendants played a significant role in that era of Israeli history. As David was a tenth generation descendant of Pharez, it would appear that Deuteronomy 23:2 was in play, given the circumstances of Pharez’s conception:

A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord.

The Tribe of Benjamin nowadays is split 50/50 between the House of Judah (the Jews) and the House of Israel (the “Joes”). Those Benjamites still in the House of Israel diaspora are the descendants of the Belgae Celts in Hampshire and Somerset (England), and in Belgium. They were also in Norway but were largely driven out when the Naphtalite Huns arrived, they sailed south and were known as the Northmen (Normans). Some Benjamites remained in Norway and they were the Beserker warriors whom the other Vikings stayed well clear of.

The Apostle Paul was from the Tribe of Benjamin and as he was the only Apostle authorised to go to the Gentiles, we can expect that the Tribe of Benjamin will be amongst the largest and definitely the most diverse in greater Israel when Mashiach ben David rules from Jerusalem.

Cassie, demanding that something ‘should be banned’ is just virtue-signalling on the internet. It also mirrors the Left, who are always shrieking that something ‘should be banned.’

The reality is that these technologies exist, and rich people will use them. You need to stop yelling at clouds.

I don’t like it any more than you do, but that’s the way it is.

We need to develop an ethical framework for these kids, translated into law. No point in railing against it, that horse has bolted. Yelling about it might make you feel and seem good – meh.

Neither biological nor State parents guarantee anything. We do know what the odds are – biological parents are a better bet.

Time to start being constructive instead of yelling at clouds (that goes for the anti-abortionists as well).

Dear Members and Friends,

Some of you may have noticed a rather sudden change to the branding of our Gala dinner this Saturday 12 November.

I want to address the changes with you all now, as quickly and directly as possible.

The original name of the event was “Anzacs and Ancestors” and was chosen to recognise the hero’s who have put their lives on the line over the years to defend Australian freedom.

It was brought to my attention yesterday morning 7/11/22 via an enquiry from a Liberal Party aligned journalist that there is an obscure law that prohibits the use of the word ANZAC without written permission. This error was mine as Division President and I have taken the necessary steps to safe guard the NSW Division, including personally reaching out to the RSL NSW.

What sticks out most to me is that it was not the RSL that expressed concern, nor any veterans group, it was a Daily Telegraph journalist who had been “tipped off” by Liberal Party Minister David Elliott. You remember him? He was the Police Minister who authorised strip searching kids. He is now in charge of Public Transport in our State!

In my opinion if Mr Elliott was genuinely concerned about the use of the word ANZAC a courtesy phone call pointing out the error and his concerns would have resulted in a simple name change on our end.

Instead of this Mr Elliott, a Minister of the Crown no less, decided the first call he should make with his concerns was to a newspaper. The obvious motivation was to get himself a headline at the expense of the Veterans who have served this country and protected us against tyranny.

As Mr Elliott clearly wants to use the Liberal Democrats to get himself in the paper we felt it appropriate to give him exactly what he wanted. As such we have renamed our Gala in his honour – “The David Elliott good riddance celebration, Hosted by the Liberal Democrats NSW”.

Of course we would love you all to join us there, and there are a few tables still available! Come along and hear from Ross Cameron as Keynote speaker. You will also have a chance to drink and talk with John Ruddick and Daniel Lewkovitz whilst enjoying a live band and 3 courses of wonderful food.

I implore you to join us on Saturday the 12/11/22, but if you are unable to attend but would like to show the event some support and of course farewell Mr Elliott appropriately please click the link below and donate to our NSW campaign.

Liberal senator Sarah Henderson has tabled a letter of complaint from ACT bar association president Rebecca Curran which calls Milligan’s speech “insensitive and polemical” and said members were left “deeply offended and distressed”.

meanwhile

“This is the second time she has told something to parliament about me that is completely inaccurate. Rebecca Curran from the ACT Bar Association both thanked me for my speech and pitched me a story on the night,” Milligan tweeted.

so which is it? Either Rebecca Curran is being misquoted by someone, or she is playing both sides.

I suspect the former, in which case she’s bound to come out swinging at someone.

The explanation was that you have immunity (up to a point) there and in several neighbouring counties “unless you are carrying Californian plates”

Aha – so that explains why the cop pulled me over in Arkansas for doing 82 in an 80 zone while trying to overtake a truck. Our car had Californian plates. “You boys both from Australia?” Let us off with a warning as he knew the chances of any fine being paid was zero.

While I think the Dems will cheat like hell tomorrow, I do believe there are still enough pissed of yankies to turn up and vote for the Reds to win both houses.

For example, it’s hardly surprising that there’s been a 27% (!!!!!) turn around in white women’s vote from Dem to Republican. Not hard to believe those numbers when they’re still the ones shopping and seeing a dozen eggs for $20, a quart of milk for $8 and loaf of bread of $6.

It’s also hardly surprising that even more Hispanics have woken up to the Godless (aka “Satanic”) dictatorship in the White House. They are not tacos.

Reports are also independent voters are breaking 70/30 for Republicans.

The black vote has shifted slightly but am always amazed as to why they allow the Dems to keep them in the plantations (and why that demographic allow themselves to be kept there).

No, it’s very logical. The automobile opened up the continent of Australia to the peasants, and the aeoroplane the world.
They want all this stuff for themselves so are making it more expensive.
The reasoning is that if an EV half way through its life has a distance of 300Km, then people won’t drive more than 100 -150 Km unless range is extended well beyond what is available today.
Same with air travel. If the rich are the only ones who can afford to travel by air, they assume they will get all these lovely facilities for themselves.
This, however refuses to take into account the facilities will no longer be there because mass travel has subsidised them for the rich – everyone was a winner!
I know it sounds stupid and it is. But how do you get past trying to explain the effort of the oil tycoon trying to destroy the mass economy while at the same time they think they’ll still be able to buy $500 bottles of Scotch, or Steinway pianos, or Rolls Royce cars?
Unless the subsidisation by the masses for Johnny Walker Red label, or Diahatsu or any other mass good continues, who will open Disney Worlds or launch satellites, or build the machinery for making differential/gearboxes?
It’s almost impossible to get it through to some people just how interlocking the modern economy is, and just how fragile it can be. They are idiots tearing down a house because they want to make a tent out of the roofing material, without thinking of the winter ahead.

Gruinaid article on Alex Antic making baby Sarah cry and their ABCcess get the sads.

So I was right when i thought it was a drag queen used in the ABC play school promos.

Liberal senators have accused the ABC of “grooming children” and allowing employees to “run rogue” on social media in a fiery and at times chaotic Senate estimates hearing.

South Australian Liberal senator Alex Antic made the claim about grooming over a Play School segment that featured drag queen Courtney Act reading a story about dressing up.

The claim was rejected by ABC management.

“Why is the ABC grooming children with this sort of adult content?” Antic told the Senate hearing on Tuesday.

Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young said Antic’s language was “deeply, deeply offensive”.

“Grooming is a really serious matter. It is not for being played with by conservative senators to make headlines.”

The ABC’s managing director David Anderson denied the accusation, saying “we are not grooming Australian children”.

“What we are doing, that is about dressing up,” he said.*

Also during the hearing, Liberal senator Sarah Henderson said the ABC’s social media policy was “broken” after Four Corners reporter Louise Milligan and radio producer Katie Hamann live-tweeted their responses to Henderson’s claims in the Senate.

“This is why your social media guidelines are a complete joke,” Henderson, the shadow minister for communications, said to Anderson.

“This is why they are broken, because you are letting your employees run rogue on social media.”

Hamann, the acting executive producer of RN Drive, was responding to a claim by Henderson that at one stage the program hosted by Andy Park had nine producers.

Sign up for Guardian Australia’s free morning and afternoon email newsletters for your daily news roundup
The ABC told Guardian Australia this claim was incorrect. RN Drive, which produces 95 minutes of current affairs each weekday, has four producers and two of them job share.

Anderson, who said staff’s Twitter accounts are personal and the ABC takes no responsibility for them, responded: “It’s not a joke”.

Henderson also asked Anderson about a speech Milligan gave to a women’s legal event in Canberra last month, which has been the subject of several articles in the Australian newspaper.

Milligan’s speech to the ACT Bar Association, which has not been released publicly, reflected on the impact of traumatic cross-examination on vulnerable complainants of sexual crimes.

Stories in the Australian and Henderson claimed it upset some of the female lawyers who attended.

Milligan also posted several tweets disputing what Henderson said about her, claiming it was “completely fictitious”. “And the opposite of what I said in my speech”.

“This is the second time she has told something to parliament about me that is completely inaccurate.”

When Henderson was made aware of Milligan’s tweets she asked Anderson to comment on them, but he refused.

The ABC backed Milligan by releasing a statement listing examples of her journalism and a raft of awards, including I Am That Girl, a Four Corners report which led to changes in NSW consent laws.

“Louise Milligan is one of Australia’s most experienced and awarded journalists and her work has added enormously to the public good of this nation,” a spokesperson said. “The ABC’s journalists are held to the highest standards and subjected to the closest scrutiny of any in this country.

“The ABC feels it’s necessary to put this information on the record as it’s so often overlooked in the commentary and reporting on Ms Milligan.”**

The estimates hearing had to be suspended twice because senators were shouting over each other.

Liberal Senator Alex Antic at ABC Estimates actually asked “Why does having a diverse workforce improve the output of the ABC?”

— Greg Jericho (@GrogsGamut) November 8, 2022
Anderson earlier refused to provide the pay details of the organisation’s highest-paid staff, claiming public interest immunity.

Henderson said there were no grounds for the ABC to make a public interest immunity claim and a similar claim from Australia Post had been rejected.

Henderson claimed there is “a lot of concern within the ABC about the inequitable allocation of resources”.

“There are some programs and divisions that are completely impoverished and others that are overflowing with staff”, and she cited RN Drive as an example.

“I don’t think there are areas at the ABC that are overflowing with staff,” Anderson replied.

The committee stopped broadcasting to hold a private hearing to consider the public interest immunity claim but failed to resolve the issue.

The hearing continues.

If Trump does run he will be elected. Er, no, in a libertarian, adult world, *both* would face the consequences for their actions, the drug user would not be rescued by the ‘system’ and neither would ‘granny’. Both would have earned, over a long life of good deeds, the respect of their family and neighbours who would be there to help them when needed. Or, had they not earned such, they would have had to wait for charity, however long it took.

The drug user would have probably perished already, or in the very least, long since run out of funds for drugs, or been jailed stealing to fund them.

And, ‘granny’, being elderly and in poor health, would have recognised that and surrounded herself with caring friends and relatives, who’s favour she had earned, or she would have, in the very least, insured her risk.

Both, by assuming ‘society’ would bail them out, failed an important test of adulting.

Morsie,

There’s no law or regulation against a president and vice president of the United States being from the same state. The reason why some people mistakenly believe such a prohibition exists comes down to a particular aspect of the Electoral College system laid out in Article II of the U.S. Constitution.

America 101: Can the president and vice president be from the same state?

So at worst, in the Trump/DeSantis example, it would only effect electors from Florida.

It looks like he’ll have to wait for Trump’s term to finish if Morsie is right, i.e., can’t have the President / VP from the same state.

There’s a lot the left does that’s offensive to basic intelligence.

The most recent one is the confected outrage over Elon Musk banning people for impersonating others – as if requiring someone to identify a parody account as a parody account is the same as stopping them, and anyone else with the same view point, from speaking at all.

At least some of these people have to know that this is just bulldust. And yet they continue to parrot the line anyway.

Yet another example of how the truth doesn’t matter to these people; only power and control.

As I link to in the comments on the mid-terms thread, cheating is going to be a lot harder in 2022 as Rs have more poll watchers, workers, and the like this time around.

Dover, the Demonrats in the essentially black urban areas threw out the Republican poll watchers in 2020. You think they won’t do it again? Why?

This would impact the senate races.

You appear to be very trusting of a system and process that cannot be audited or accounted for. If they can cheat, they will do it again.

In 2020 the Republicans had just come out from under an almost 40 year consent decree which prevented them from carrying out anti-vote fraud activities and working the voting polls, particularly in predominantly black districts. They were out of practice and unsure of their rights and such.

Gives a whole new meaning to “getting on the piss” at the Xmas party:

‘Private urination incident’ at centre of ‘concerning’ allegations at Senate estimates

Stunning revelations of a “private urination incident” have come to light during a grilling in Senate estimates.

NCA NewsWire

A senior male executive at the nation’s animal and pesticide regulator resigned after he was alleged to have urinated on staff members.

Agriculture Minister Murray Watt is now seeking an urgent briefing from the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) following the stunning revelations at Senate estimates on Tuesday.

Chief executive Lisa Croft was grilled on the matter, alleged to have occurred at a Christmas party, by Greens senator Peter Whish-Wilson.

“Was such an incident reported to you and if so, was there any action taken,” he asked.

Ms Croft confirmed she was “aware of the matter” but insisted the incident took place at a private event, and not at the organisation’s office Christmas party as was suggested.

“I am not aware of it in that context; not at a Christmas party,” the chief executive initially said.

“I am aware of an incident that occurred in a private capacity, not at a work function.”

She said people directly involved made her aware of the matter, but no official complaint was made.

“I understand that the people directly involved wanted me to be aware of the matter,” she said.

The issue was raised with the APVMA human resources team and the staff member resigned shortly after.

Senator Watt told the committee he would be seeking an “urgent briefing” from the department.

“These are very concerning questions. It is certainly the first time I have heard about it and I will be seeking an urgent briefing,” he said.

Ms Croft also took questions on notice about the organisation’s staff issues and low morale.

Umm, I don’t think it was an accident….from The Oz….

Sydney University student ‘shocked’ to be characterised in exam as ‘HIV positive’

A Sydney University student says she has been left feeling “shocked and embarrassed” after her identity was used in a bizarre exam scenario which depicted her as a fanatical conservative who ran over a left-wing man in a Mercedes and had sex while knowing she has HIV.

Law student Freya Leach, 19, said she was confused and then horrified when she began receiving dozens of messages from her classmates who had begun their criminal law take-home final assessment and discovered it featured a “right-wing” woman named Freya.

In the colourful legal scenario set out in the assignment, Freya “puts her foot on the accelerator” and runs over a left-winger in a Mercedes to give “that chardonnay socialist a fright” and drives away.

She also has “penile-vaginal sex” with an engaged man while knowing she is “HIV positive” later in the scenario.

Ms Leach – who is active in the Young Liberal Club and the University of Sydney ?Conservative Club – said the fact so many of her fellow students had believed her to be the Freya had left her feeling singled out

“It’s beyond comprehension that one of the country’s most prestigious law schools would be reduced to such personalised attacks against its students for having different views,” she told The Australian.

“At best it’s incompetence, at worst it’s malice. I don’t know in what world it is acceptable to use students’ (identities) in exams.”

Ms Leach said she believed she was being targeted by the left on campus after she spoke out against a wave of “zoom bombing”, a form of industrial action in which students intentionally disrupt online lessons as part of a push by the National Tertiary Education Union for better pay and conditions.

’It’s beyond comprehension that one of the country’s most prestigious law schools would be reduced to such personalised attacks against its students for having different views,’ Freya Leach says.

“I am well-known around campus for my involvement in student politics,” she said.

“So it is almost inconceivable to think it’s an accident, given my name is not common and everyone has been able to piece it together and identify it as me.

“I think it’s really concerning that faculties think they can abuse their power to single out students for political beliefs.

“It has vilified me among the left on campus, it has tainted me as the caricature of a right-wing person driving a Mercedes, and it’s totally unfair and unacceptable.”

Ms Leach has written to the Dean of the law school to ask for an apology and an extension on completing the exam as she had been “so stressed” she hasn’t been able to bring herself to attempt to complete the assignment.

The University of Sydney was contacted for comment.”

I think she needs to take legal action.

WA could banish fast-food outlets from being near schools in radical new plan to fix the state’s growing obesity crisis

In a state where most of the residents are overweight and the capital city is littered with fast-food joints, WA Health have launched a bold plan to try and tackle the ballooning crisis.

Fast-food outlets could see their hours slashed and radical new restrictions imposed on their locations as Western Australia floats ideas on how to tackle the state’s growing obesity epidemic.

WA Health made the bold proposal in their latest attempt to fix the obesity crisis.

One in four children and 71 per cent of adults in the state are overweight or obese and it is the leading risk factor for death, disease, and disability in Western Australia.

Keeping fast-food away from schools was a key aspect of the report, as 86 per cent of schools in the state have at least one fast-food store within a 1km radius.

“Perth schools had an average of 1.8 fast food outlets located within 400m; 5.7 fast food outlets within 800m; and 8.1 fast food outlets within 1km,” the report said.

The report recommended changing planning laws to “limit unhealthy food outlets and to support access to healthy food options including near schools”.

BALTIMORE — The city is expected to announce next week the offer of a guaranteed income if squeegee kids stay out of city intersections.

The size of the paycheck is still unclear; however, the city is currently offering potential criminals $375 a month in a separate program if they refrain from shooting other people.

Directors of the city’s Group Violence Reduction Strategy detailed the stipend program at City Hall on Wednesday.

If participants remain crime-free, the city vows to provide educational opportunities, housing assistance, and stipends for completing a resume, going on a job interview, and meeting with a life coach.

“In order to incentivize folks and give them an opportunity to advance in their life,” explained Director Shantay Jackson.

Agree with the thrust of what you are saying, but I think air travel is the anomaly in that lot. I think on an average flight the first class prices are subsidising the punters in the back. Whether the same number of routes could exist without mass air travel- dunno.

Years ago I managed major corporate contracts with airlines. On several occasions I was told that it was the income from the punters in economy (assuming economy class was full) who paid all the costs and secured the base yield of flying a particular route – business/first passengers were the ‘cream’.

St. Peter goes back to the Gates, looks around, and lets out a heavy sigh.

The Burnie Magistrates Court heard Hope came outside a house in a Belton St as they went past, stuck up his middle finger and flashed his scrotum while uttering abuse.

Hope was also found guilty of other charges including evading police and reckless driving and driving with ice and amphetamine in his system.

Magistrate Katie Edwards adjourned Hope’s sentencing so a pre-sentence report could be prepared.

“You are in a lot of trouble but I will look at sentencing options,” Magistrate Edwards said.

“But you are at risk of a term of imprisonment.”

Those sentencing options could include community service or enrolment in a court-mandated drug program.

The black precincts were ones where the consent decree specifically applied so they got away with murder.

The 2020 election was a bit of a perfect storm scenario with the end of the consent decree, Trump derangement syndrome, and Covid. Covid gave the heavily Dem controlled voting system an excuse and cover for horrendous violations of state voting laws, massive cheating, and a judicial system that refused to hear voter fraud cases due to TDS.

Much of that has been cleaned up and people are going to jail. The deputy director of the City of Milwaukee Election Commission was bagged last week for committing election fraud related to absentee ballots for instance. How much is left remains to be seen but the Dems certainly aren’t getting the free ride to cheat that they once did.

So am I confident? Only in the fact that sheer numbers of votes and close observation of the process should make this one a bit harder to defraud. The fact that the Reps are likely to win big should have the cheaters a bit concerned as well because this time there will actually be real investigations with real repercussions.

I do find it interesting that the Dems who swear the 2020 election was “the most secure election in U.S. history” are suddenly talking about how ripe this one is for fraud. Make of that what you will.

Richard Marles has vowed the ADF will get long-range weapons to hold enemies at bay

Albanese government ‘absolutely committed’ to getting defence ‘back on track’: Marles

Ben Packham
FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND DEFENCE CORRESPONDENT

Richard Marles has flagged a new national military doctrine of “impactful projection” requiring the Australian Defence Force to be given new firepower to hit adversaries at much longer ranges than it is currently able to do.

The Defence Minister told a conference in Canberra on Tuesday that a looming overhaul of defence priorities would be the most significant in 40 years, providing a “significant reset” of the requirements the nation placed on the ADF.

“Increasingly we’re going to need to think about our Defence Force in terms of being able to provide the country with impactful projection … meaning an ability to hold an adversary at risk much further from our shores, across kind of the full spectrum of proportionate response,” Mr Marles told the Submarine Institute conference.

His comments add to growing expectations that precision guided missiles and long-range drones will be at the top of the government’s shopping list after it receives the final report of its defence strategic review in March, while the army’s planned new infantry fighting vehicles could struggle for funding.

Mr Marles said “impactful projection” was “a different mindset” for the ADF, which had previously been concerned with protecting the continent and maintaining Australia’s position as a good global citizen and significant player in the region.

He said long-range submarines offered “impactful projection more than any other platform that we have within our Defence Force right now”, making Australia’s nuclear submarines partnership with the US and UK vitally important.

Mr Marles revealed he would meet with his US and UK counterparts towards the end of the year to work on the final details of the nuclear submarine partnership ahead of the release of the government’s nuclear submarine taskforce report, which is also due in March.

Chief of Navy Mark Hammond told the same conference that Australia, as an island nation, needed “impactful power projection” to protect the sea lanes and communications networks that sustained the country’s economy.

“You don’t need to invade a country to hold it at risk,” Vice Admiral Hammond said.

Mr Marles said by acquiring nuclear-powered submarines, Australia was “buying a large question mark in our adversaries’ mind”.

Earlier, a Senate estimates committee heard revealed taxpayers paid an extra $591m for the cancelled Attack-class submarine program than previously disclosed, including a $300m writedown in the value of works at Adelaide’s Osborne shipyards, and $291m for Australian shipbuilder ASC to re-employ former staff of French submarine company Naval Group.

Greens senator David Shoebridge said the additional costs had been “ferreted away off the defence budget” to hide the extent of the losses associated with the cancelled submarine project.

“Only in a bungled multi-billion defence project would a government even try to hide a lazy $591 million in additional costs,” he said. “When we pay an extra $591 million for not building submarines, we lose those funds for public housing, schools or income relief.’’

Sorry, Albo, I’ll believe it when I see it.
